Cursor on the same field after validation (urgent.)

Hi All,
I m doin validation on certain field. if the user enters wrong value then error message should be given along with the cursor should be in that field only.
Here in my case what happens is the cursor goes to intial screen i want it at on that field where i have given the validation.
What should i do for the same?
Please help me with the same..

Cursor not focusing in the text field after Object tag load in IE

We have an applets class "ABC.class" in our application. To include this class in a jsp page we are using OBJECT tag. This tag is written inside a if block in the jsp page. Based on the if condition this OBJECT tag has to be loaded. Below is the code we are using:

In the above code if the "if condition" is satisfying, then cursor is not focusing on the required field. The code to focus on the field is written in the javascript function which is called onLoading the page.
we are using IE 7 and IE8. In IE 7 sometimes working fine but in IE 8 we are getting this issue.
Can anyone please help us how to focus the cursor on the required field even in the case of the Object tag loading.

We are not using JQuery.
Actually the code to focus is written in the function which is called onLoad of the page that will be executed after the page loading. If we keep alerts in the onLoad function then the cursor is focusing to the required field.

Table Control - Cursor placed on same field

Hi,
   I am facing one problem in a User defined Screen that having Table control.
   I written some validations for each and every field in Screen including Table control.
   But each & every time i am pressing Enter , the cursor is going to first field in the screen . I want to restrict this one...i want to be cursor on the field which i entered value at that time or next navigation field.
   How i can achieve this...cursor should stay on the same field , it should not go to first field.
   Pls give ur suggestions...

This is the first time I'm coming across this problem and I find it quite peculiar. Anyways, I can think of one option that you can try out.
Use the option GET CURSOR FIELD to get the cursor in the PAI event and then use the SET CURSOR FIELD statement in the PBO to set the cursor to the appropriate field.

If you simply want to send the exact same message to everyone in your address book with emails ending in "@whatever.com", you can do the following:
Create an email with subject, message and attachments but no addresses
Open Address Book, All Contacts
Search in Address Book for @whatever.com
Select the results and drag them into the To: or Bcc: field of the email. If Bcc: then put your email address in the To: field.
Send the email
This will not personalize the emails (such as with "Dear firstname:" at the top of the message) but it will let you send an idential message to everyone who meets your criteria.

Combobox and UseLOV with the same field

i want use a Combobox which Select a Field name and after make a UseLov with this field name.
I can make the combobox with field name Column and i can separatly make a USELov with a field name, but i can't make it together.
Have tried two things create a new Bean with one method which call theses two methods and i have tried call the two methods directly in the JSP on the same field.
In each case the first method's call is ignored.

When i hold down command and r at the same time after restarting it comes up with a black screen and a lock symbol and a field bellow where you would input a password, i have tried ALL of my possible passwords including my password i use for the mac and it stil will not work! all that happens is the text i put in bellow erases itself after hiting enter or clicking the arrow.

I've tried my apple ID password and that doesn't work either . I don't recall seting a password for an encrypted disk either :/ if it was for an encrypted disk, would it be in keychain anywhere? if so how can i find it?

Can I union several cursors for the same secondary db?

I want to search several keys in one secondary database.
select * from adb where a=6 or a=9 or ....
certainly, this can be done by running several queries, but it is definitely slow.
wondered if it is possible to union these several cursors together, then fetch the data from the primary database at once? seems this is not supported in current BDB implementation.
trying to modify the bdb code to support the cursor union operation. but get lost in the code. (seems java version is simpler than the c version. )
can some friend from Oracle, Ron, Bogdan, Andrei,Alexander
shed me some light on how a cursor in bdb is implemented. did not find too much detail in the document.
and hope this is in the to-do list of next version.

The idea of joining cursors on the same secondary db presents no logic since you don't want to identify common keys within the records corresponding to each cursor.
A join cursor works the following way: the first cursor on a secondary db within the cursor array is analyzed and each primary key that the cursor refers to is searched within the next primary keys refered to by the next joined cursor in the array, and so on, leading to identifying the primary keys that each of cursors within the array refer to (the common keys).
What you want to achieve on a secondary db can be accomplished by positioning several cursors on the records that you want, begin reading sequentially with each of them, go to the other when you have finished reading with one cursor. A faster approach, which shouldn't involve any locking issues since the acquired locks are shared/read locks and you'll not perform any writes at that moment, may be that of spawning several threads and open a cursor within each thread, thus performing multithreading cursor read operations. You'll have to analyze each approach with regard to how many duplicates the cursors will refer, time consumed to spawn the threads etc.

Using !format on multiple occurrences of the same field

I'm trying to use the @if function to apply formatting to two occurrences of a field, but am not having any luck so far. The specific example is that I have two check boxes on the template, and would like to have only one of them checked at a time, using the same field in my data file for both check boxes. The field that I'm using in my data file is:
^field ACCOUNT_TYPE
And the only two possible values for that field are CHECKING and SAVINGS. On the first ACCOUNT_TYPE checkbox, I have entered the following !format:
@(If("@_$_."=="CHECKING","X"," "))
And on the second ACCOUNT_TYPE check box it is
@(If("@_$_."=="SAVINGS","X"," "))
The @if statement works fine when I apply it to only one of the check boxes, but when I apply it to both, nothing populates into the field. A simple solution would be to change the data, but doing so is not an option in this case for me. Any help or alternate solutions is appreciated. Thanks!

I treid different combination keeping the same field name for two radio buttons but it didnt work. You can work out with an alternate solution , keep different name for two radio buttons say : JF07 & JF08
And under JF07 for !Format event : @(If("@JF03."=="SAVING","S",""))
And under JF08 for !Format event : @(If("@JF03."=="CHECKING","C",""))
where JF03 is the field name which may have one of two value : i.e either SAVING or CHECKING
So your form consits of 2 radio buttons ( JF07,JF08) and one field label JF03. In your dat file you have to refer to first radio button that appears first on the form i.e left to right or top to bottom.(So whatever radio button is appearign first in the sequence on the form from left to right use that radio button in dat file.Here its JF07)

Different fonts in the same field

Is it possible to format a single field with two different fonts. I have concatenated two database columns to get this field. But I want different fonts for the two columns. I could achieve this by using a format trigger and placing some html tags. But this solution only works if the output is in HTML style sheets. It does not work if I want the output to be in PDF. Does anybody know how to achieve it in PDF? Is it possible at all (from what I have seen it isn't). I will be grateful for any help in this direction.

Let say you have scott/tiger and emp-table and want to concatenate and print ename and job in the same field but with different fonts.
1. In the Database model you have the columns seperate as usual.
2. Create a boileplate text field and put &ENAME &JOB in this field.
3. Select &ENAME and set the right font to it, set another font for &JOB.
4. Run and test. This should work...

We have an application that I would like to have in Formscentral. That application is also in a larger PDF file that once filled in populates all the other forms below it (lease, credit check form, ect). If the Application on Formscentral keep the same field names as the pdf can I pull the data from formscentral and sill populate the old application pdf so that all the forms below it will be also populated.

Any changes (like adding new fields, deleting existing field, change field properties of existing fields) applied to the database table has to adjust to changes to their definition in the ABAP Dictionary. So everytime when you make any new change on a database table, table conversion is required to refresh the exisiting entries in the ABAP dictionary so as to synchronize Database & Data Dictionary.

Resetting the Logic Board
Resetting the logic board can resolve many system problems. Whenever you have a
unit that fails to power up, you should follow this procedure
before replacing any modules.
1 Unplug the computer.
2 Press the Power On button on the front of the unit.
3 Open the side access panel.
4 Remove the battery from the logic board.
5 Wait at least 10 minutes before replacing the battery.
6 Make sure the battery is installed in the correct +/-
direction.
7 Reassemble the computer and test the unit.

Providing F4 help for the same field on selection screen

My requirement is :
There are 2 radio buttons and a parameter "p_file" on my selection scree.
1. rb_appl
2. rb_pres
If the radio button rb_appl = 'X', I need to place the logic of F4 help of application server for the field p_file. Else if the rb_pres = 'X', then I need to place the logic of F4 help of presentation server for the same field p_file.
I have written the code in the below manner
PARAMETERS: rb_appl RADIOBUTTON GROUP rad DEFAULT 'X',
                         rb_pres RADIOBUTTON GROUP rad ,
                         p_file   TYPE ibipparms-path.
AT SELECTION-SCREEN ON VALUE-REQUEST FOR p_file.
IF rb_appl = 'X'.
      PERFORM f_applictn_server_filenm.
ELSEIF rb_pres = 'X'.
    PERFORM f_presentation_filenm.
ENDIF.
But I am getting the F4 help for only the radio button for which i have placed the default value in the parameters.
So please let me know how to define the F4 help for the same field based on the radio buttons.

You can acheive the same by the addition of [USER-COMMAND fcode].
RADIOBUTTON GROUP group [USER-COMMAND fcode] - The addition USER-COMMAND can be used to assign a function code fcode to the first parameter in a radio button group. The function code fcode must be specified directly, and have a maximum length of 20 characters. When the user selects any radio button of the radio button group on the selection screen, the runtime environment triggers the event AT SELECTION-SCREEN and transfers the function code fcode to the component ucomm of the interface work area sscrfields.
So you code should be altered as
PARAMETERS: rb_appl RADIOBUTTON GROUP rad
                     USER-COMMAND radclick    "Addition which you have to make.
                     DEFAULT 'X',
            rb_pres RADIOBUTTON GROUP rad ,
            p_file   TYPE ibipparms-path.
AT SELECTION-SCREEN ON VALUE-REQUEST FOR p_file.
IF rb_appl = 'X'.
    PERFORM f_applictn_server_filenm.
