Hi Dan,
You are getting this error because you have not yet 'created/ initialized' the Cursor.
Either,
Manually add cursor.( On Front Panel, Right click on Graph>> Visible items>> Cursor Legend, then Right click in the cursor legend>> Select Add cursor)
Or
You can progamatically create a cursor and then set its position.

Invalid Cursor Position Error on Windows XP using CachedRowSet

Hello, I don't know if this question lies here, but I thought it would be the well suited place so please pardon me if it isn't. I am trying to access multiple pages from my database on my XP machine but I am getting an "invalid cursor position" error when trying to access the next page. I don't know how this error is coming about because it works well on a Vista machine with no errors. I don't know if it is my drivers or something that brings about the problem. I am using mysql connecter 5.1.10, JRE 1.6.0_02 and windows XP SP2

Yes I am running the same code on both machines. The output I get on the XP machine is shown below. I modified the code I posted earlier and replaced the "page two" text with "page (then page number)" and also omitted the "in page two" text for better readability---------PAGE 0---------

guys if any of you have an idea just post it. It would be of great help for me. I can't figure out my mistake and its been 2days already and still i am stuck with my problem.
It displays the table but there is an error "java.sql.SQLException: Invalid cursor position" so i cannot put the counter to the session.

Care to help me out... not seeing a similar function of "WITH HOLD" to keep the cursor position when it gets back to the top of the loop.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
You need to commit only ONCE in Oracle, at the total and complete END of your transaction.
Never commit INSIDE a loop.
Only commit when your transaction has completed.
(Preferrably you let the client, the caller, commit)

I'm only guessing it's:
ORA-01002: fetch out of sequence
Cause: This error means that a fetch has been attempted from a cursor which is no longer valid. Note that a PL/SQL cursor loop implicitly does fetches, and thus may also cause this error. There are a number of possible causes for this error, including: 1) Fetching from a cursor after the last row has been retrieved and the ORA-1403 error returned. 2) If the cursor has been opened with the FOR UPDATE clause, fetching after a COMMIT has been issued will return the error. 3) Rebinding any placeholders in the SQL statement, then issuing a fetch before reexecuting the statement.
Action: 1) Do not issue a fetch statement after the last row has been retrieved - there are no more rows to fetch. 2) Do not issue a COMMIT inside a fetch loop for a cursor that has been opened FOR UPDATE. 3) Reexecute the statement after rebinding, then attempt to fetch again.

Cursor Position in text item - almost there

Searching the forum I found a post relating to the same problem I am facing but still without solution. The text was :
"Q:Does anyone know of a way to add a value from a LOV into a text editor, inserting the value at the current cursor position (ie. possibility in the middle of lines of text)."
Mr. Duncan Mills replied the following but it didn't worked:
"1) Set Keep Cursor position on in the text field
2) Have the LOV return into a "working field" possibly hidden
3) Aftre the LOV has returned a value do a Go_ITEM to the working feild and issue SELECT_ALL; COPY_REGION;
4) GO_ITEM back to the text Field (the cursor should return to where you left it) and PASTE_REGION."
I was trying this and I finally found solution just changing "paste_region" to "win_api_shell.sendkeys(whnd,'^V',FALSE)". It's working, but I am getting the message FRM-41008 - Undefined function key.
How can I disable this message ? (I tried to set :system.message_level to 25 but it didn't work).

Setting the cursor position in a field in XD01 transaction

Hi,
I am trying to validate the field Customer type (Path : XD01 > Sales area data > Extras > Additional data) in the transaction XD01 ie: It is a mandatory entry for Customer creation.
I tried displaying an error message which worked fine. But i want the cursor to be positioned in the Customer type field.
Is there any possibility for this?

I tried giving "GET CURSOR FIELD v_field LINE v_line" in the exit EXIT_SAPMF02D_001. But no values are getting captured in those variables.
Moreover they have specified in the documentation as - "However, the variables specified during PAI processing are always initialized". Now this exit is getting called during PAI. Hence i believe that the values will be initialized! Moreover i think that getting the field & line information of the current cursor position is not going to help us!

Locating the cursor position

Is it possible to locate the cursor position in a text item? in other words can I find the number of characters to the left of the cursor in a text item?

I have to insert user selected variables that show up in a LOV into the text item at the cursor position.
A sloppy workaround for this problem is asking the user to put in a pre defined symbol where ever he/she wants to insert the variables and then replace the variable with the value selected from the LOV using the REPLACE function. There is always a chance of error here!
Instead if there is a way to know the cursor position, like the no. of characters to the left of the cursor or the cursor co-ordinates.............

I have doubt while uploading data for transaction XD02 (customer master).I have recorded the transaction. now while uploading the data from a file it gives error. the error is at filling the table control for contact details for the customer.the cursor positon is recorded but while uploading the cursor position is not read.this happens when there is no value for the table control to be filled if there is any value for the table control in the file there is no error.why is it not taking the cursor positon when there is no value in the the file for that particular row of the table control .kindly help.

ITunes 6.0.1.3 "forgets" last cursor position in the library

Hi there,
I've a minor issue with my iTunes library. When I'm comfortably browsing my library using the "Browse"-Button, switching to e.g. my CD in iTunes and after that returning to the library the last cursor position with selected title and/or album is lost. So anew I've always to navigate manually to the previous selected album which it's bit annoying especially when you've to manage a larger library.
Any hints?

I want to change the default location of the music libary, so I went through the edit | preferences | consolidate library processes...which seemed to work fine.
This method will change the location of the iTunes Music folder but the the iTunes folder itself will be left behind in its original place: C:\Documents and Settings\user name\My Documents\My Music. This makes iTunes (and by extension will also make you) much happier and in this case you'll be well-advised to let it have its way.
Note that all the actual music files you now have, as well as those you will add in the future(which take up the bulk of the space on your hard drive), will be in the new location. The iTunes folder will be left behind with the iTunes Library files which don't take up much space at all ... if that's a concern.

Pda cursor position property does not work

Hi!
I have a problem with cursor positionX propery on PDA.
I use PDA Module 8.2 and Windows Mobile 5 OS on PocketPC.
Actually problem is only when I try to get value of two cursors, it return the same value for both cursors (you can test it with attached VI), but when I set values it work fine.
I have also worked with PDA Module 8.0.1 in past and I remember that get cursor position value worked, so I have no idea why it doesn't work in newer version.

Unfortunately I also see the same behavior on a PDA using this "active cursor" property. It appears to me that this property is not being written successfully. I say this because it appears that the value displayed is always from the most recently repositioned cursor rather than either the 0 or 1 which is set by the property node.
What I will do at this point is to file a corrective action request so that this behavior is corrected for a future release of the LabVIEW PDA module. DataTable Exception: Invalid operation for the current cursor position

I have a JSF application that lists rows from a view in a SQL Server database. I have set up a commandLinks in an extra columns.
The data is displayed properly, but when I select one of the commandLinks I get the "Invalid operation for the current cursor position" exception.

Looks like some inconsistency in the jsp source:
in the 2nd link the url property is set. I don't think
you need to set this.
I couldn't tell what action you want to occur when you
click. If you want some action to occur such as
navigating to another page then you can use Page Navigation. Then you would need an action handler
for the LinkAction component.

How to get the current cursor position in word report?

I am generating a word report. But I would like to keep the table in one page. However, I did not find the way to do it in labview. Somebody would give me some suggestions? I appreciate a lot.
One way I think I can do is to find the current cursor position. Since I know the table size so I can figure out if the left space in the current page is enough to hold the table. But I do not know how to locate the curent cursor position in word document in labview programmatically. I appreciate any suggestions on this question.

Hi,
when you insert data in a word document you have to refer to bookmarks rather than cursor position.
If you are using the Report Generation Toolkit for Office it is explained in the manual chapter 3-1.
See also the example: Generate Report From Template (Word).vi included in the toolkit.
If you aren't using the toolkit, you still have to refer to bookmark as reference points to insert and/or fetch data.
The principle is:
- First create a document in which you insert bookmarks where you wish and save it as a template
- In LV open your template document and insert in it your data referring to bookmarks as insertion points
- At the end save your report with another name, so you still have the template

Accessing cursor positions on Tek TDS3052 oscilloscope

I'm trying to program a LabVIEW application using a Tektronix TDS3052 digital oscilloscope that I access via GPIB.
I have a got most of it running using the tkds30xx driver library that came with LabVIEW. However, I am missing one function: I need to query the user cursor positions set by the user on the scope. What I'm looking for is pretty much what the "TekTDS read cursors.vi" from the vi lib for the older Tek scopes does. I didn't find its equivalent in the TDS30xx lib, and unfortunately these routines cannot be intermixed.
Does someone know whether that function exists at all and, if yes, how to access it (where is it and what its name?)?

For horizontal cursors try:
CURS:HBA?
The instrument should give a response in this format:
Horizontal Pos1;Pos2;Delta;Selected Cursor;Units
For Vertical try these:
CURS:VBA:HDELT?
Returns horizontal difference
CURS:VBA:HPOS? x = 1 or 2
Returns value of vertical bar ticks
CURS:VBA:UNITS?
Return measurement units
CURS:VBA:VDELTA?
Returns value difference between the bars ticks
If you are using the IVI driver, use the write to instrument and read from instrument VIs. If you are using the LabVIEW native one, VISA write and read should do the trick. Hope this helps.

Cursor position

I ahve a program written and all but it looks like I distorted the cursor position. I want to set the cursor position to where it can be moved by clicking and i cant figure it out. I know i have the magnify on is that why if so is there a way to keep both.
