Cursor problem - intermittent selecting and moving cursor left and up

Hi there. I have an intermittent problem. It doesn't happen all the time. It seems to happen when my mac has been on for say longer than half an hour. When I use either the trackpad or mighty mouse to select something, say a folder which has 10 files in it. If I click on the file at the bottom, it automatically selects the files above it and to the left. Its like someone is pressing the move left arrow and move up arrow on the keyboard. It also happens say if I wish to type in an url in safari, the cursor constantly moves left and all these problems make it useless to use. It doesn't happen all the time. I have checked the battery and it seems normal looking, and I have reinstalled osx but it still happens. Would the arrow keys on the keyboard be stuffed or trackpad?

Hi there. This is already ticked, and I have tried it ticked and unticked, so that doesn't fix the problem, but thanks for trying. I actually left it with a mac repair man and he looked at it all weekend, but the problem didn't display for him, so thats frustrating! I need to try something else.

You may have to suffer until you can get to your local artist's products store. There you should be able to buy square metres of fine matt black felt (maybe in a shop selling materials too). This makes an excellent and inexpensive base that looks good too. Have used it for years.
Lay it on your desk and hold it in position with some double sided sticky tape.

I am ok with the vertical way, but I don't like the very sensible horizontal way. Do someone know a way to block the vertical move only and keep the move of the horizontal way? The only way I found blocked all the moves.

Merci Éric de me revenir en français, je l'apprécie beaucoup. Je ne veux conserver que le mouvement de haut en bas et de bas en haut. Je ne vois pas l'utilité du mouvement horizontale (gauche-droite, droite-gauche) et pire encore, par mégarde je fais trop souvent bouger ainsi mon texte et cela m'embête, même me dérange beaucoup. Même que cela me donne même mal au coeur hahahahahaha!
Par contre, ma souris précédente avait le mouvement de défilement du haut en bas et bas en haut et cela par contre m'est très utile. Je voudrais donc savoir s'il existe un moyen de stopper le mouvement de côté mais conserver tout de même la fonction du mouvement haut-bas et bas-haut avec le simple toucher de la souris. Suis-je plus clair? Disons que c'est plus aisé pour moi en français. merci à toi

Had mail problem where losing mail after typed and moving cursor made it disappear. Did a reset of Firefox and now don't know how to set up my favorite websites

that were located in toolbar. Don't remember which toolbar but had all sites I might visit with icons and name. Can't remember how I did that to do over again. 70 y/o now. Hope that fixed my having to retype emails.

First, are you looking for the Bookmarks Toolbar? If you right-click a blank area to the right of your tabs, you can make sure the Bookmarks Toolbar is turned on.
Hopefully that's it, but if it was an add-on toolbar, some more digging will be required...
After a reset, you should have a new folder on your desktop with a name simlar to Old Firefox Settings. Inside that folder, there is another folder named extensions which contains a file or folder for each extension you had before the reset. One of these extensions most likely was responsible for your toolbar. Can you find that folder?
Unfortunately, many extensions and extension folders are named using long gibberish-like numbers. If the one you're looking for isn't in English, you or a volunteer will need to look up what those are. Once we identify the toolbar, we can figure out what happened to its data (for example, if it's stored on the web, you probably just need to reinstall the extension, but if it's stored locally only on your computer, we probably need to identify and copy its data file to a new location).

TEXT_IO/cursor problem - Appropriate SELECT...INTO.. returns no rows!

I have a button on a form which, when pressed, uses the built-in "GET_FILE_NAME" to locate a comma-delimited flat file. I use TEXT_IO to open the file and process the rows in a FOR LOOP. In the loop, I parse each comma delimited field into it's own variable. One of these fieldsis a week-ending-date, which is converted to a DATE variable. I need to get the year and week # from a support table called "Week" (I could justget the year from the date, but the week number is arbitrary when crossing over years). I have tried using a SELECT..INTO statement and an explicit cursor with the same results - none. The select into I use is:

Or is there some limitation on using cursors while processing a TEXT_IO file? If anyone knows the why of this or can think of a workaround, please let me know.

Problem in Selecting the data from EKPO and KONV tables

Hi Experts,
Presently I am working on Report with Comparision-Sheet Between the vendor's Quotations. I have to display the Discount, Freight, Packing and Forwarding, Vat in Item level data based on the conditions made in PO.
As per my Knowledge, Condition Types are stored in KONV Table. But there is no relation between KONV and EKPO tables. So, I am unable to print the data for Discount, Freight, Packing and Forwarding, Vat... How can I get the values from EKPO and KONV tables?

Don't recall if this is correct, but you may need the condition number from the header (EKKO) combined with EKPO-EBELP or other field as you key to access KONV (KNUMH and KPOSN). My site doesn't run PP, so can't verify if the data is actually stored that, so just a possibility.

Just powered down and moved my iMac and when powered back up all it says is no bootable disc-please insert disc and hit any key......what do I do?

That sounds like a message from a DOS-based computer. A Mac would just show a folder with a question mark, unless they've changed things recently. Do you have a BootCamp partition?
Try holding down the option key immediately after the Chime. You should go into the startup manager and it will show all bootable drives. Pick yours, then go into System Preferences and set your startup disk.
Next would be to try a Safe Boot by holding down the shift key right after the chime until you see the gray screen. It will take a while to boot up as it is running some disk checks.

Which are the correct settings to capture anamorphic, actually it is smashed down and cut by left and right.

I work with a Sony HDV 1080i Mini DV camera, and I need to know the correct video sequence and capture settings.
Actually I'm making a proyect for DVD and TV, which is the best setting choice?

since your camera is a Sony. Firewire Basic is used mostly when connecting Canon cameras.
Make sure your camera likely has a feature that will downconvert HDV to SD at the iLink (Sony's name for firewire) port. Make sure that conversion feature is turned OFF.

XY Graph Cursor Problem in Labview 7.1.1?

Hallo,
I am using Labview 7.1.1 and I am facing one problem with XY graph cursor. If I am moving cursor in one graph, I am expecting same movement in another Graph. But when I move cursor in Graph1, cursor in second graph moves but not to exact X value of Graph1.
Property of Cursor in both graphs must be "Lock to Plot"
If any body knows about this please let me know ASAP. I am attaching example VI for your reference.

It's a curious effect. Probably the floating point coordinate is sensitive to the exact pixel alignment (I mean that this would not happen if we had for example 1 pixel per point in the X direction).
Anyway, if you use Cursor Index instead (which is an integer) the behaviour is as expected.

Wireless Keyboard's left and right shift keys don't like some keys...

Hello everyone!
I recently bought a second hand 2009 Apple Wireless Keyboard to use with my iPad 32GB Wi-Fi.
When pressed by themselves, the keys all individually work - I've tested them all using my MacBook's Keyboard and Character Viewer. The problem is when I use either shift keys with the following keys:

Now, the odd thing is, the left shift key won't wok with either of those lines but the right shift key will work with the letters but not the numbers.
Using sticky keys on my MacBook, I can get every single one of the numbers to give out their character (!@£ etc.) with the left and right shift keys. I've not got Mouse Keys turned on either (and I don't think there's an option to enable it on the iPad)
Also, the Shift keys work perfectly fine with all of the other keys on the keyboard so they aren't worn out.
Any ideas what could be making my keyboard this way..? Or should I send it back (if I can...)?

ok so i've made a bit of progress on my own...
i've found the on-screen keyboard viewer (silly me, i was looking under "keyboard" in system preferences...) and this flashes with each key i press except the problematic left and right cursor keys.
moreover, if i click the left and right cursor keys on the on-screen keyboard, they behave as they should, moving my cursor left and right.
this is starting to look like a hardware fault but i'd love to be able to test outside of the OSX GUI to be really sure. is there any way i can do that. not sure i want to get the screwdriver out just yet...

Problems with selections in cs5

Hey there, Recently i started noticing some weird behaviours that didn't happen before involving selections in photoshop cs5.
the first thing i noticed was that when i made a selection with the lasso on any given layer and hit transform, the tool didn't automatically select the active pixels like it did before. instead, the transformation box was around the whole selection I made even if the borders didn't contain active pixels. this is a really big problem for me because when I have my objects set in a certain place and I want to transform them in that position, thay move around a little bit beacuse the selection is not constrained to the shape. I was wondering if this is some new feature in cs5 that can be changed. or some old feature that I accidentally toggled on.
My second problem is that when I'm making a selection either with the marquee tool or the lasso tool then I swiitch to the move tool to move the selected content and then switch back to a selection tool to remove just a part of thet previous selection so that I can move the rest of the content, appart from deselecting that area, it erases the pixels contained in the deselection. and I just want to remove that selection, not delete the pixels. I'm also wondering if this is a function that can be modified or if I have a bigger problem.
Any help will be deeply appreciated.

One workaround might be to switch to the Move Tool and hit the left and right arrow in sequence.
Ad 2)
One workaround might be to enter and leave Quick Mask Mode by hitting Q twice.

Freight and moving average

I set up freight with Distribution method (Quantity) and Drawing Method (Quantity).
If I use this freight on a purchase invoice line the last purchase price is correctly update but on the inventory evaluation (using moving average) the system do not consider freight.
I do not use perpetual inventory.

The concept my not exsist but on the inventory evaluation I have the possibility to select the moving average. And all ather things is consider in the mouving average: ex landed cost. Is only the freight that is not included.
You think that is an error that I have the moving average as evaluatin method choise?

Windows key + left and right arrows not working with RemoteApp windows

My office is deploying RemoteApps to replace certain locally installed applications. I, and many of my coworkers, have 2-3 monitors and the Windows
+ left and right "snap" function has been an extremely convenient way to juggle multiple windows across multiple monitors. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to work with RemoteApp windows. Does anyone know a way to get this working?

Based on my test, I agree with Keith Langmead, it seems Windows key + left or right key cannot work with remoteapp.
