Cursor size is stuck at medium size

Changed my cursor size just to see how it looked, but after i had changed up to medium and large it would not let me change down to the normal cursor size. So now im stuck with a big cursor and its VERY annoying. tried turning the computer off and all that but it dident work.
PLEASE HELP.

If all else fails, do you have a recent System Restore point that you could roll back to?

• Fonts on gentoo linux & cursor size

Hello,
When starting jdeveloper from the command line, I get the following output:
Oracle JDeveloper 10g 10.1.2
Copyright 1997, 2004 Oracle Corporation. All Rights Reserved
Warning: Cannot convert string "-b&h-lucida-medium-r-normal-sans-*-140-*-*-p-*-iso8859-1" to type FontStructLooking in <javadir>/jre/lib/font.properties, I find this string, but with a parameter %d that is obviously expanded to 140.
In addition to this problem, but I believe in relation to it, all editing components (textfields, textareas, ...) have a cursor size that is almost double the size of the font.
U understand that this is very annoying.
Are these two problems related ?
What do I do to solve them (both).
Thanks in advance,
Boro

The strange thing is, I only have this cursor problem in java applets and applications.
The install manual talks about carets that are opaque, and gives instructions on replacing the standard java carets with oracle's, but this doesn't solve the problem.
(As far as I can tell, cursors and carets are often used interchangeably.)

• Command for "How to find Cursor Size" in Oracle Stored Procedure"

Hi
Can u tell me....
How to find Cursor Size" in Oracle Stored Procedure........
I want command for that........

why don't you try select count(*) from your_table;That requires running the same query twice - or rather running two different queries twice. Besides it still doesn't guarantee anything, because Oracle's read consistency model only applies at the statement level (unless you're running in a serialized transaction).
This is such a common requirement - users are wont to say "well Google does it" - it seems bizarre that Oracle cannot do it. The truth is that that Google cheats. Firstly it guesses the number on the basis of information in its indexes and refines the estimate as pages are returned. Secondly, Google is under no onus to kepp all its data and indexes synchronized - two simultaneous and identical queries which touch different Google servers can return different results. Oracle Text works the same way, which is why we can get a count with CTX_QUERY.COUNT_HITS in estimate mode.

• Change Cursor Size with Pen Pressure

Does anyone know of a way to make the paintbrush cursor size change dynamically according to pen pressure with a tablet?
I'm coming to Photoshop from GIMP, and in GIMP when you use more or less pressure on the tablet, the cursor icon automatically changes size based on the pressure so you know exactly how large a line the tool will draw.
In Photoshop it seems you can choose "normal" or "full size" for the cursor circle, or else use crosshairs, but there doesn't seem to be an option for a dynamically shaped cursor. Am I wrong and just missing something? Or does Photoshop really not have this feature?

When you press and hold Option/Alt + Control and Left mouse click and drag nothing happens?
(the button on your pen is set to left click?)
The Option/Alt key should always be the second key to the left of the spacebar
The Control key should always be the third key to the left of the spacebar

• Cursor size for excel

Hi everybody,
because I didnt get solution in forum
https://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/997efa53-b988-4292-a82b-b3338d0e1cea/cursor-increase?forum=excel&prof=required
the last proposal ws to ask here.
so the question was:
How can I increase cursor size in excel? The small cross I need bigger and with more contrast color when the mouse is moved over cells. Other options e.g. hourglass, I-beam etc should work with the bigger size. The change of mouse pointer in windows
setting doesnt help.
Thanks

In Win32 the way you change the cursor is to replace it.
When the mouse enters a window, a WM_SETCURSOR message is sent to the window. and you call SetCursor in the window's procedure to replace the current cursor. You can hook up a window procedure by subclassing the window, and if you are executing
code from another process, with the help of dll injection.
Problem with Excel is that every control has its own window procedure. You need to identify the correct control to subclass. Then you have to do compatibility testing every time Microsoft releases a patch to Excel as you are depending on undocumented
behavior.

• CS4 cursor size mismatch problem

Greetings all,
I have an interesting problem in that the actual brush strokes for just about any tool don't match the cursor size shown on screen.
For example; if I set my copyright brush to 250 pixels, the cursor for the brush appears to be about 450-500 pixels wide. This makes one click placement of these type things pretty frustrating.
The same thing happens with the standard brush, clone, and just about any other painting tool. I've checked and changes all the options under preferences relating both cursors and points / pixels to no avail.
Here is a link to a screen capture of one example:

Any ideas?

Thanks again,
I'll try safe mode on my main machine tomorrow.
On the Mac Book Pro, I have a GeForce 8600M GT and on the Mac Pro the RadeonX1900.
I don't have any special cursor software and Screenflow was installed after I noticed the problem.
I'm wondering if there is some CS4 setting somewhere that I'm missing since this is going on on two separate machines. . .
Thanks again for the help.

• Mouse cursor size does not accurately reflect brush size

Mouse cursor does not reflect brush size in Photoshop CS5 on an iMac 10.5 OS. If I try to draw two parallel lines with the edges touching by aligning the edge of the cursor circle, there is a gap between the lines, no matter how hard I set the brush.
I am using a Wacom Intuous 4 mouse, but the problem persists with the standard mouse after I remove the Wacom driver, so the Wacom people say this is a photoshop problem.
Cursor size is larger than the effect size whether I am using the paint brush, history brush, clone or healing brush.

Bingo!
The Mac OS setting seems to have been the culprit
Thanks

• Mouse cursor size - SOLVED

I need a larger mouse coursor for visibility.
The wiki says to use "Xcursor.theme" and "Xcursor.size" in .Xresources. I cannot get either of these to work. I can select the cursor appearance with "xterm*pointerShape" but that does not help with the size. Are there any larger cursors available anywhere?
~/.Xresources is sourced by xrdb in ~/.xinitrc
If it makes any difference, I don't use a desktop manager; just spectrwm as window manager.

cursor size, I believe, only applies to cursor files using libxcursor. See the -xcf option of xsetroot to use it.
I just confirmed this works, though information on what an "x cursor file" is is sparse. The simplest was to install xcursor-themes from [extra]. This includes many good cursor files in /usr/share/icons/whiteglass/cursors. Once installed, try the following
xsetroot -xcf /usr/share/icons/whiteglass/cursors/left_ptr 32
or change the 32 to adjust the size.
Note that some client windows (mostly terminals and text fields) define their own cursors; these will not be changed by this setting.

• Quicktime Screen Recording cursor size not adjusting

I'm wanting to record my screen, but make my mouse cursor larger than usual. So I go to accessibility and increase my cursor size. Then I begin recording my screen with Quicktime Player X. But my resulting recording shows my mouse cursor at it's original small size, not the large size. I don't know why. Is there a setting I am missing or is it a flaw in Quicktime's screen rendering ?

• Cursor size in presentations

I give presentations using my PowerBook, and I like to point at objects in the presentation using the cursor as I look at the PowerBook (not at the screen). When I have the cursor in the PowerBook screen, the cursor shows up on the room screen for the audience to see, which is what I want. Trouble is, the cursor on the room screen is too small: how do I increase its size? Please note: I can increase the cursor size on the PowerBook screen (Universal Access), and move it to the room screen, where it is indeed now bigger, BUT, I now have to turn my back and look at the room screen to see where the cursor is going. Mousepose' is not the answer: I don't want a dim screen, I just want a bigger cursor on the room screen without sacrificing the cursor on the PowerBook screen.

Hi,
I'm a bit confused here. Based on your initial post in this thread, and on later post, I'm trying to figure out exactly what you need. I'm guessing that you are presenting in the front of some sort of lecture hall, seated at your computer, facing the audience. On the wall in the front of the lecture hall, beside you and just behind you, is the projection of the second monitor, where the audience-intended display is shown. You're using dual-display, and not mirroring, so you can have the audience-intended content on the room monitor and other things, such as your notes and preview on your laptop's screen.
Assuming that this is true, then the next question is, do you want a single cursor that can move between displays, or do you want two independent mouse pointers? In your initial post, you stated that by using the Universal Access, you were able to make the mouse pointer large and move it to the room display. On my system (12" PowerBook 867Mhz with a 20" Samsung external monitor), I was unable to reproduce your situation in which the mouse cursor was large on the computer display but not on the external display. Unless mirroring was used (or unless you used something like an actual mirror or a video camera connected to a closed-circuit display that faced you, wouldn't you have to turn your back to follow the cursor's motion on the room display whether the cursor were large or not? I'm not sure what presentation software you are using (probably Keynote or PowerPoint?) but you might be able to use the cursor solely for use on the room display, and use keystrokes (or mouse clicks) to navigate through the presentation. I don't know what the constraints are of the presentation room, but it would seem that if you could position yourself in a way that you could view your computer display as well as the room display, and still be situated so you could easily speak to your audience, you might be able to solve your problem without a technological solution. Another possible solution would be a bluetooth remote handheld pointer (essentially a wireless mouse that's contoured for handheld use), which would allow you to stand away from the computer, but I'm guessing that this wouldn't work because you wouldn't have easy access to the notes and previews on your computer screen.
I hope that some of this helps; please supply more detailed information as to your needs if I'm not addressing your problem, and I'll try to help further.
Ken

• Reduce icon and cursor size

My cat sat on the keyboard of my mac book air (nice and warm) and now my cursor is the size of my hand and I can't make anything out to navigate to a screen to resolve it. Is there a number combination of keys that I can press to restore to normal size? Thank you

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
To restore the cursor size, open System Preferences > Accesibility > Mouse & Trackpad, and reduce the cursor size. In some cases, you can see "Universal Access" instead of "Accesibility", so select Universal Access if you don't see Accesibility option

• Programmatically change mouse cursor size

LV 8.5 on Windows XP
Is there a way to change the size of the mouse cursor (custom or otherwise) programmatically? I can load custom cursors using included vi's but can't find a way to change the size - the cursor vi's are locked so I don't know what is going on behind them.
Thanks

smercurio,
I had found that thread but the API example is written in 5.1, unfortunately I have wiped this machine several times since running 7.1 and would rather not reinstall if I can avoid it. (As I understand it 7.X can open the 5.X and THEN I can open in 8.X)
I will look around for a machine running 7 and go from there but any other suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks again!

• Cursor size limited to 32x32?

Hi,
I'm trying to implement a custom cursor on my DnDTable, and the idea is that it must display the name of the dragged object.
I already found out how to change the cursor to one of my own (Toolkit.createCustomCursor()), but the problem is that I can't resize the cursor.
I want it to be at size (120, 10), and it seems I can't change the default size of the cursor.
Anybody knows how I can change a cursor to a bigger one of my own??
Thanks in advance!
Gerben

What do you mean? I use this method to start dragging:
void startDrag(DragGestureEvent trigger, Cursor dragCursor, Transferable transferable, DragSourceListener dsl)
The cursor is one of the default or system cursors, or the one created by myself with this method:
Toolkit.createCustomCursor(Image cursor, Point hotSpot, String name)
which returns a Cursor object. I draw a string in the BufferedImage in order to display the DataObjects name.
But, because it seems the OS limits cursors to a maximum size of 32x32, I just can't get my Image larger than 32x32. So I'll have to hide the cursor and draw a whole new (and bigger) component over it.
Am I going wrong somewhere here? If there's any other way, I'd love to hear it!!
