Curve 8310 - Contact Dbase(s)

Hi,
I had some how ended up with three Desktop data bases for my contacts, each with a different number of records in.
I followed one of the online set of instructuctions for consolidating these dbases HOWEVER I managed to use the wrong set of instructions........  (I wont use the language that came to mind when i realised!)
I have backed up my bberry and all of the contact recrods are there (411), I can see them in the 'Select Data to Restore' window whilst my bberry shows only 99 records.  These 99 are clearly the 99 in the syncing contact dbase.
I have tried to restore the dbases to my bberry but cannot select the 'Address Book - All' to give me the 411 entries, and the restore just gives me the 99.
Can someone please help?
Thanks
Leon

    Hello,
The services you listed in your post will require a data plan which is provisioned by your wireless provider. You may want to contact your wireless provider to see if you have the correct plan.

  • Curve 8310 Calendar will not Sync at all

The calendar of my curve 8310 will no longer sync though I've had no problem before.  I have Outlook 2002 and Desktop Software 4.6 and sync using the USB cable for wired synchronization.  When the DS progress windows display during sync the sections now move from contacts>tasks>notes.  The calendar section is omitted entirely.  I uninstalled Desktop Software then reinstalled it but the same problem continues.  I have checked the Desktop Software set up and verified that a two way sync of calendar is included.  I've been working on this all weekend and am totally frustrated!  I hope someone can help!

"What is 6 of 16 that is locking up, I don't believe it is datebook and if that is the case you can disable that conduit temporarily so you can sync your datebook over, if it is datebook, then I would try a program called dbfixit you can get it from www.pimlicosoftware.com I don't know about dbscan and how well it is, but I find dbfixit to be a wonderful tool to find any corruption. "
Well, I don't know.  I am assuming it is 6 of 16 files that need to be synced.  I'm just telling you what the hotsync window says at the point that it locks up.
How do I disable the conduit and still have the datebook sync?  If it's disabled, how would it sync at all?  I have set the datebook to "do nothing" and the other applications sync just fine, but not datebook.
I will try the dbfixit as long as you can assure me it won't erase data.  Thank you

  • Water Damaged Curve 8310

    Hello!
Unfortunately I put my Rogers Curve 8310 through the wash a couple of weeks ago, and no amount of rice and blow-drying could save it.  I've met people who have swam for half and hour and saved their BB's, but I figure it had no chance after soap and a spin cycle.
My question is this:  Does RIM have any program for replacing water damaged phones?  My best friend recently dunked his iPhone 3Gs in a toilet and they sent him a box the next day, he popped it in, and a week later he received a brand new 3Gs in the mail for $229 cdn, which is a hell of a lot more palatable than the $800 retail price.
    Thank you!

Not that I'm aware of. I don't know if water damage is covered under warranty. If you have insurance on your phone then you should be able to pay the detuctible to get another BlackBerry. If you contact your carrier they would be able to tell you.
If someone has been helpful please consider giving them kudos by clicking the star to the left of their post.

  • Calendar (Entourage) Not Syncing with BB Curve 8310

I have a BB Curve 8310, and the BB Desktop Manager for Mac is not syncing my calendar (Entourage) with my BB Curve.  Nothing I do works!  I have used every option on the BB Desktop software, including where the software overwrites the BB.
    Any ideas?
This is complete crap - this software should work RIM!

I think I'm having similar trouble. Just downloaded new Mac Desktop Software to be able to sync BB Curve 8330 with MacBook Pro and updated phone software also. Every time try to sync get error with no message or code on Calendar and Address sync "A sync error occurred. Please retry the sync." .... then puts a green checkmark like worked fine but have no addresses or calendar events transferred. Simply transferring from iCal and Mac's Address Book... very frustrating! Was using PocketMac but it wasn't syncing over newly-added contacts for some reason and was goofing my computer's calendar all up. Why can't things be easy and just WORK?
    Would like advice also please!!!!!!!!
    Thank you!

Turn off your memory cleaner, it is worthless to your situation and does NOT clear additional memory for your device, it just wastes battery and resource, and ONLY cleans already deleted memory to a high secure government specification. Nice for the FBI, CIA, drug and p0rn dealers, worthless for you.
    For low memory issues:
First thing? Check the File Free at Options > Status, what is the number at File Free?
Now, leaving the device powered ON, remove the battery of your device, hold a minute, replace and reboot.
What is the File Free now?

  • Sync problem BB Curve 8310 and Desktop Manager v4.6 with Outlook 2003

I have a BB Curve 8310 with Desktop Manager v4.6 that I syn with Outlook 2003. Calendar, tasks, and memo will sync.  The sync fails on the address book with this message:  Unable to read application data record. Translation Canceled!  From other message boards, I understand that the problem could be with a particular contact record but I can't find that record.  I've followed all suggestions about organizing Outlook to look for blank entries for name or company and have deleted all those found.  The names on the BB log are not alpa so finding the one that is incorrect is a problem.  The sync failed at record 1211 out of 1428.  I deleted the last record shown on the log and but then it failed at record 1210!  I deleted several addresses and now it fails at record 1192.  There must be more to this!  I am getting ready to purchase a new computer and all new software and would like to resolve this issue before moving to new equipment.  HELP!

First perform a clean uninstall oof DM 4.6.

  • Help Me ! BB Curve 8310

Hello people of the forum, I will tell you my case:
My uncle gave me a blackberry curve 8310 five months ago, only used it to call and receive messages.
But the BlackBerry is in USA (AT & T) and my uncle brought him to my country (Peru) Now, I want to register the phone, which was in (att.blackberry.com) to (claroperu.blackberry.com) but when I want to register (claroperu.blackberry.com) I get error and I can not do anything, I'm told is the Pin But it's complicated
    Help me please
    Thank's

Whoever owned the phone before you (I think your uncle) needs to contact AT&T and have the PIN released from his account. Then you can set it up with your carrier.

  • Video for BB Curve 8310

I need some help!  I work for an AT&T retail store.  I have a customer that has the Curve 8310.  She is unable to view videos on You Tube or CNN type pages.  She can receive a video via MMS but as far as viewing them on a webpage, cant do it.  I also tried it with my Curve 8310 and could log onto You Tube and pull up a video but could not watch it.  Is this something to do with the fact that AT&T does not support this level of access?  Does anyone have AT&T that could help me out??  Thanks so much!

To watch streaming video from such as YouTube.com, you will need to have OS 4.5 loaded on your BlackBerry. That will enable live video ability.
and then, you will use the mobile site, "m.youtube.com"
    Good luck.

  • BB Curve 8310 automatic restarting

My blackberry curve 8310 is just restarting.. no startup screen just white blank screen and then restart every time..
dont know what to do ...
    guys plz help....

If your BlackBerry stays powered off with a white or black screen, follow the instructions below. The only indication of life might be the blinking red LED light in the top corner. Nothing seems to wake it up and Desktop Manager doesn't recognize any device is connected.
    1) Make sure you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/
    2) On your PC, go to Start > Run and copy and paste the following line exactly (meaning with the quotation marks):
    "c:\program files\common files\research in motion\apploader\loader.exe" /nojvm
    3) The Application Loader Wizard will appear -- click "Next."
    4) In the "Connection:" drop-down menu, you should see "USB-PIN: UNKNOWN". Click the "Next" button.
    5) You should then see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Hit Next and Finish and you are well on your way to getting your Blackberry back to life. Just don't disconnect anything and let the lengthy process finish completely.
NOTE: If you do not see a list of applications mentioned in step 5 and instead see the message "The Blackberry Desktop Software does not have Blackberry Device Software for the device that you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator," then you must download Blackberry's Operating System for your carrier and device.
    http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/BlackBerry_Operating_System_Downloads
Just select the appropriate carrier and network type, select your Blackberry model from the list and download the latest version. Install this download and follow the above steps again and you should be on the right path.

  • Curve 8310 & Synchro with Window Vista

    Hello,
I have a Blackberry Curve 8310 and am running Window Vista on my laptop and have downloaded the latest Desktop Manager.  I would like to be able to snychronize the Windows Contacts and the Windows Mail that comes with Vista.  I have no problems with Windows Contacts because that option was given in the synchronization set up; however, Window Calendar was not.  When I try and set up synchronziation for Windows Calendar, I only have three options to choose from:  None, ASCII Importer/Exporter, and Yahoo.  I recently talked to my service provider and they indicated that Blackberry does not support the synchronization of Windows Calendar.  It seems that one must purchase and install MS Outlook even when there is a perfectly good e-mail program/calendar that comes with Vista.  My question is:  Does anyone know when, or if, all of MS Vista components will be supported by Blackberry? - or - has anyone discovered a solution to this problem?  Thanks for any feedback.
    LC

Yeah I figured that would be the case about vista 64 bit, usually if I have a problem with software compatability it's because of that lol.
Thanks on the PIN instructions, I never knew heh. Unfortunately that means I have been entering the right PIN, which doesn't put me any closer to figuring out this little issue
    Still need help unfortunately -_-

  • BBM 5.0.1.38 on Curve 8310... SLOW

I've had BBM 5.0.1.38 on my Curve 8310 for a while and its terribly slow.
It takes forever to open groups and I can't stand waiting the 30sec to a min.
I was wondering if anyone has the same experience...
Should I upgrade to a newer version (if available)?
Should I downgrade? What version is recommended?

Ok, I misread that. Gotcha, BBM v. 5

    Don't despair,
everyone has delays as you describe on opening BBMessenger group chats, and you will experience greater delays with the more lengthy the "days kept" for the chat conversation as the device pulls and syncs the conversation from other group members.
I haven't seen an upgrade that improves on that.

I want to give my friend my curve 8310 but cannot remember the password.  Is there another way to clear my device?

Type the password incorrectly ten times and it will wipe all of your previous personal information from the device... contacts, calendar, messages, etc., but it will NOT always wipe your pictures and files on the inserted Media Card.
