Curve 8330 and micro SDHC media card?

Does the Curve 8330 support a micro SDHC media card or do I have to only use a micro SD card?
Thanks!
Walt

Hi and welcome to the forums!
A couple of places for you to visit: Blackberry 101    Tips & Tricks
It will support a micro SDHC media card.  See these kb articles:   Media Card sizes supported by BB OS
Go to options-about (3rd line down will read v4.x.x.xxx - this is your OS version)

  • Curve 8530 and photos without media card?

An acquaintance replaced her Curve 8530 with a Droid and wants to get her photos off the Curve. She has never installed BB Desktop nor backed up her photos before. She claims she has no media card in it but I wonder if you can save photos without one and I'm not there to check out her phone myself right now.
So my 2 questions  are 1) If you do not add a micro-SD card, can you still take and store photos? (I wonder if she has a card and doesn't know it). And 2) If it is possible without a media card, how can she download her photos to her computer? (If it's a media card, I know what to do)
    TIA

To answer your questions, yes you can store photos without a media card.  There is a limited amount of memory available in the phone for media storage.  Without a media card, the easiest method would have been for her to email the photos to an account accessed on a PC.  Of course I am guessing that option is probably no longer available.
While I do not have a Curve 8530, I am guessing they came loaded with a micro SD card and your friend just doesn't realize it is there.  I also guess the new Droid has one that could be used to access the 8530 files if necessary.

  • Blackberry Curve 8330 and Exchange Email??

Just got a Blackberry Curve 8330 and was hoping I could use it to get my corporate email.  We are using Exchange SP2 behind an ISA 2006 firewall and OWA is using a self-signed certificate for SSL.  When I attempt to setup this email on my Curve it can not connect to the Exchange server.  I was told that the Blackberry could use OWA to connect, but I am guessing either the ISA server or the self-signed certificate for OWA is causing the problem.  I really love the phone and don't want to have to swap it for something else because of this issue.

Ok, well first things first, Does your company have a Blackberry Enterprise Server with their exchange??
If they do, u need to have a Blackberry Enterprise plan on your service and you can connect straight to their BES/Exchange.
If they don't have a BB server, you will need to create a pop3 email to link to your device, and have your company forward all your exchange email to your pop3 email.
This is so large companys must 'pay' a few grand to host a Blackberry server and thus have the email all go through fine..
If your company does not wish to do this, you must sneak around it the 'Blackberry Internet Solution' way...
If your issue is resolved, put a checkmark in the green box that contains the resolution.

  • Curve 8330 and I'm using a 16 gig micro sdhc card

believe it or not, I am using a 16 gig micro sdhc card in my sprint 8330 curve.  At the time of purchasing I had no idea that certain OS supported a max amount of gigs.  So of course imagine my surprise when the desktop software would not recognize the card -- luckily the sender of the card sent me a usb flash drive with a sdhc card adapter -- so I just put the micro sdhc card into the adapter and put the adapter into usb the flash drive and I just upload all of my music, etc. onto the card, then insert the card back into my bberry and voila, it works.  Everything shows up.  Mind you, it's a pain b/c if you want to add/remove things you can only do it this way vs. using the desktop software, but for the amount of space, I can deal with it.  I actually sold my itouch (16 gig) and now am just using my phone as a media player.  It's pretty cool!  Anyhow, just thought I would share.

    thanks for the info

  • Micro SDHC 8GB card

I have this card and I put it in my Blackberry Pearl (8100) and the phone does not recognize it. In advanced setting under media card, I have it "on" but it says no media card present. Anyone have any ideas why?

I haven't use any 4 GB microSDHC in my handheld but from different forum I've learned that micro SDHC will work in BB. But officially following are the details on memory supported by BlackBerry -
Max. Media Support depends on the version of device OS that you're using.
BlackBerry Device Software                         Media Card Size Limit
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.0                         Up to 2GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.1                         Up to 4GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.2.2                         Up to 4GB
BlackBerry Device Software 4.3.0                         Up to 8GB
    All are microSD.

  • Blackberry Curve 8330 and Desktop Manager v5.0

I have a BB curve 8330 running the current device software, BB Desktop manager v5.0 and Outlook 2007 on Windows Vista and have just recently experienced problems syncing.  I continue to get an error message such as below...
Faulting application DesktopMgr.exe, version 5.0.0.11, time stamp 0x4a4bd539, faulting module ntdll.dll, version 6.0.6002.18005, time stamp 0x49e03821, exception code 0xc0000374, fault offset 0x000afaf8, process id 0x1dc, application start time 0x01ca41d751046e2b.
I've tried everything I can think of from reinstalling DTM, previous versions of DTM...getting rid of the "intellisync" folder that others have discussed...scanning my PST and OST files for errors, reconfiguring the sync settings...all with the same result.  Everything is fine until it goes to read the calendar off of outlook and sync it...then it crashes saying the program has to close and windows will notify me if there is a solution....I've even tried running DTM with Vista's "Administrator" option and no dice...
I'm thinking this is an issue either with DTM or with the latest Vista Update (Windows 7 can't come soon enough!)....anyone else have any other ideas as to what this could be???

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
While you have tried many things, I cannot tell if you have tried this...so apologies if it is redundant in any way.
I suggest the following steps (insert plenty of reboots of your PC...not just restarts, but full power down reboots). Also, it is advised that you be logged into the PC on an account with full admin rights. Further, under Vista, use the "Run As Administrator" option for everything.
    1) Remove your device OS update package from your PC (add/remove programs)
    2) Cleanly uninstall the RIM DTM software:
KB02206 How to perform a clean uninstall of BlackBerry Desktop Software
    3) Get a fresh download of the RIM DTM software:
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/desktop/
Choose the version that is newest and (if applicable) compatible with your PIM (if you are synchornizing via USB):
KB12268 Applications supported by BlackBerry Desktop Manager for synchronization
    4) Download (to your PC) a fresh copy of your device OS package from your carrier:
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    5) Install DTM to your PC
    6) Install (also to your PC), the device OS package
    7) Start the organizer configuration over:
KB17022 How to configure organizer applications for synchronization using BlackBerry Desktop Manager
Hopefully that will get things going again.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Curve 8330 and Slacker v.2.02

I recently downloaded/ exchanged Slacker Personal Radio App V. 2.0 and my smartphone is rebooting when this application is operating. The old version was not a problem.  Other than that issue, my handheld is functioning very well. I usually listen to the streaming radio with my headset plugged in. Additionally, I can listen without incident to the media player as the mp3 files function with the use of the earbuds.
Upon further investigation of my handheld and reading other postings, I was also wondering if having the Slacker App on my media card as opposed to the internal memory would be an issue?
    Can someone enlighten me?

Select the Phone Model (ex: V551, 6102, etc) and change it to GPRS (GSM / 3G)
Enter the APN (Internet2.voicestream.com, internet3.voicestream.com, or wap.voicestream.com for blackberries)

  • Blackberry Curve 8330 and newest PocketMac software

I downloaded the newest PocketMac version 4.1.25 in hopes it would help with some of the problems that I have had with the syncing. I haven't installed it yet, because I can't find anywhere that it supports my Curve 8330. I don't want to make matters worse, but installing incorrect software. • N95 16 GB micro sdhc memory card

Hiya, Can I use the 16GB memory card in my N95??. The Nokia site shows I can uses the 8GB but the N95 is not listed for the 16GB. Also, What does the hc bit mean as all the memory cards before the 8GB only say sd and after they say sdhc
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The N95 should work with a 16GB card. The N82 and a few other do. As long as the card is of a well-known brand and bought from a reputable store, you shouldn't have any problems.
The "HC" bit stands for "Hich Capacity". All microSD cards of 4GB and greater are SDHC cards.

  • BB Curve 8330 and Mac Mail on Browser/Internet

    Hi there,
I wanted to access my MobileMe Mac mail using the BB browser.  I received an error message telling to me enable Java which I then did.  Still not able to access the website, www.me.com, keep getting error message.  I then went into the settings and checked them for both the WAP and Internet browser portions, all now have check marks beside the Enable java feature.
Am I missing something?  Is it possible that the java doesn't want to run on this Curve?  Do I perhaps need to update the OS?  What is the most recent version available and does it have to be downloaded from your carrier (Bell Mobility in my case).
Any advice or suggestions on how to correct this issue would be much appreciated.  Thank you in hopeful anticipation.

  • Blackberry Curve 8330 and Act! 6.0........

Hello all, I was wondering if any of you had insight into whether Act! 6.0 is synching with the Curve. I previously had the Palm Treo 700P which is a piece of garbage and was lucky it worked at all. My company is upgrading to Blackberry and abandoning Palm, I see here on your product sheet that Act! 6.0 is supported but has anyone had any experience using this Blackberry with Act! as I always had alot of issues with synching Act! with any PDA and wanted to hear others experiences before settling on this model. I also read that Companionlink may be needed, however it doesn't bother me when nothing prevoiusly available would successfully synch my Palm with Act! without issues......
    Thanks for the help......
    Solved!

I finally received my Curve and I just wanted to share my positive experience with you all. It's simple as pie to sync Act! 6.0 using only CompanionLink and Blackberry Desktop, skipping the more difficult sync with Outlook then Blackberry method. I had it all done in under 10 minutes and it was a pleasure. I personally took my Palm Treo 700 and smashed it into a million pieces on the street in front of my job to celebrate. CompanionLink has all the instructions on how to do this easily here:
