Curve 8330 has sound in all but phone calls....need options

Got a blackberry curve 8330 that will produce sounds for videos, music and other media but, when calling or receiving calls, there's not sound at all. Tried the tried and true battery pull and an OS update but, neither were successful. Can anyone shed some light on this problem? Thanks!

Are you still experiencing the issue with your incoming call alert?
Are you using a custom ringtone or one of the device defaults?
You can check the profile settings by going to:
Profiles -> Advanced -> select the current profile which will be identified by active in brackets -> Phone
You want to check to make sure “Out of Holster” is set to Tone and “Volume” is not set to mute.

Silence notifications for all but phone calls

Greetings - after looking at settings,notifications - I have not found an optio for no sound. Consequently, I've had to turn down the phone volume because of the numerous notifications I receive for emails, etc. Please help

No sound at all for incoming calls, txts, games. I have checked the side mute switch. Volume is all way up. All notifications are on. I can hear tones when I go to change them. I can hear my music. I can hear talking on videos I have taken. I have tried everything I know to do(reset,restore,reset network settings,reset content and other settings and mute button is not ON)Please help!

This is exactly the same problem I am having. I dropped the phone one time I think that was the reason. Now I cant seem to find any solution to fix it and it will cost me $149 to buy a new phone? There has to be a way to fix this problem.
When I put it in speaker phone I can hear but not voices through the phone.

Maybe I understood your problem. Get to Settings > Sounds > Ringers and Alerts >Turn Change With Buttons to Off. And if your Side Switch is assigned to 'Mute', turn it back on, else, use the control center to turn off mute.

If I understand the question correctly, it is not about turning off keyboard clicks, it's about silencing the beeps made when manually keying in a phone number. With keyboard clicks turned off, the beeps still sound when keying in a phone number. If I'm reading the iPhone User Guide correctly, it explains how to turn off keyboard clicks but not how to silence the beeps when keying in a phone number. The only way I have found to silence the beeps is to put the phone into silent mode.

It started randomly about two weeks ago and I thought it was a glitch that would just go away. But now I am getting sick of using only the block eraser on one size. Help?

The easiest thing to start with is to reset the Eraser Tool.
Right click on the Eraser icon in the tool options bar and then click on Reset Tool.

BB reject all incoming phone calls

I have a problem my Blackberry started to rejecting all incoming phone calls from numbers which i dont have in my phone book. Any solution ?

Open Settings then tap FaceTime and turn iPhone Cellular Calls to off.

Blackerry Curve 8330---I cant hear anything, but they can hear me??!!

I recently bought a Blackberry Curve 8330, Verizon. In the first couple of days, I started having problems where I would go to make a call and wouldnt hear anything....however, the other person on the other line tells me later they heard me. In order to fix this, I have to take out my battery and put it back in. Apparently, I know two other people that this has happened to on several occasions---as for myself, Ive had my blackbery for a month and had this happen at least 4x and its starting to get annoying.
Any advice on what to do?! Return product?

This type of issues arises due hardware melfunction. Contact your carrier for support or else you can take help from RIM support if available.

IPhone 5 sound related apps won't work, but phone calls work fine

When I attempt to use Siri, she doesn't pickup my voice. When I attempt to use snapchat no sound is picked up so it just sends a video with white noise... It's actually picking up SOMETHING, because when I use Voxer the messages send a REALLY faint voice. It's almost like a ghost whispering, but you can almost make out what I'm saying.
Phone calls I make have no issues. If I raise Siri to my ear and talk then it works fine. What's the issue?

No sound when connected to phone calls

Hi all, Got my first BB (a Curve) on Monday. Twice now I have dialed a call, it has connected, and I am unable to hear their phone ring or hear the voice on the other end, and neither can they hear my voice. (I know it has connected, because one of the calls was to my son when he was beside me!) Each time I have gone into contacts to make the connection...one time it worked the second time there was still no sound. This morning I received a call and the same thing happened. It is almost like the phone is muted both ways. I have rechecked my settings and yes, the volume was up and the mute was off. I have spoken to other users that I work with and none have had this issue. Do I have a simple setting wrong or is the BB having some issues?

I read a lot, I mean ALOT of posts, and there is a definite trend towards Verizon's phones doing it, Don't get me wrong, there are all vendor phones that do this

My mom and I have Apple devices (she has an iPhone 3G, and I have an iPod touch) .. I noticed that some of her apps require my password to my Apple ID and some of the other apps require her password for her Apple ID. When she first bought the phone, I used my Apple ID to download those apps since she was new to the Apple community. However, whenever she gets new updates, those apps still need my password (even though I've erased my account from her phone). Is there any possible way for her to update all of her apps using only one ID (hers) instead of using mine? It's very troublesome and I don't want to give her my password because she'll only end up losing it.
If anyone can answer this question, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Sorry for the delayed response, yes i want to use my university account when replying to all emails. Note i just discovered something, when i forward my university email to my icloud account and than responded from either my imac of my macbook air (i.e. in icloud) it automatically goes to my university account in the "from" space (good news!!!). That is just what i wanted, . While that is the good news, the bad news is that my iphone and ipad still treat this email as being from icloud even though it is forwarded (redirected) from my university account. That is when i respond to an email (or for that matter create a new email in my icloud account) it automatically lists the icloud account as the "from" account and i have to go in and manually modify it. So i am 50% there to solving my problem (i.e. actually did nothing the systems just worked well) but i still need to figure out a way to make this happen on my ipad and iphone. Any help or suggestions, note the default button in the iphone and ipad for email work differently than the default in the composition menu of the imac or macair.

I had this happen as well. Restarting my MacBook Pro (8,2) made it go away. At other times it seemed to appear when calling some phones (my wife's iPhone 4 and my son's Samsung phone) but not others (my land line), but this was not consistent. My phone is an iPhone 5. I'm hoping the iOS update due tomorrow will fix this.

Torch getting no messages but phone calls

Everything was working fine and i didnt touch anything. I own a torch 9800 through Rogers, It still ges phone calls. However it will neither send or recieve mails. BBM wont send or recieve either. No text messages seem to be coming through either. It feels ominous. I have tried both a soft and a hard reboot and nada. I went in and looked at the BIS information online but there was nothing there that seemed to tell me what else i could do. Please Help. Im cut off from the world and have things i need to do and people who need to reach me. Ugh this sucks!

Resending your Service Books might help. It's been a while since I've advised on this subject so I hope the instructions are accurate.
On your homescreen, go to Setup>Email Accounts>(Menu Key)>Service Books>Resend Service Books. I believe that's correct so give it a try. You should also go to http://rogers.blackberry.com which is a self-serve BIS site. Get a user/pass combo from Rogers to access that site and it will allow you to control what email accounts you have on your account. It's gives you great control over your BIS account.

TS1630 No incoming sound on earpiece in phone calls

when i make or receive a call, i can't hear the other person, but they can hear me...if i turn speakers on, i can hear them, and with headphones too.
tried all the sugestions..restart phone, pluggin hearphones multiple times, restore the firmware.no luck

This is absolutely ridiculous but I read a post saying that they just had someone call them and the volume buttons, notifications, music through the speakers and audio in apps came back. I called my phone and hey presto! Everything is working again!
I've read several posts about people being told this is hardware, I'm sorry but no way a simple phone call could cause the problem as well as fix it if this was hardware! Apple....time to get this fixed!
