ndvia, Greetings, and welcome to the BlackBerry.com Community Support Forums.
1. Use your BlackBerry browser to go to http://blackberry.com/blackberrymessenger and download/install the Messenger application again. If it asks to go to AppWorld to download this, don't, just follow the link to download.
After installation and possibly another reboot, check your Instant Messaging Folder, or Downloads folder for the application.
2. I assume this is in regard to your BlackberryID password?
BlackBerry ID issues:
In many cases the BlackBerry ID has not been created successfully and therefore will not let you past that screen.... go to www.blackberry.com/blackberryid and try to create a new BlackBerry ID , and then log in from the device.
Still others have been sucessful by editing to allow ALL permissions for App World.
* Go to Options/Settings > Advanced Options > Applications, (you will see your list of all your apps on your BlackBerry)
* Sroll down to BlackBerry App World, > Click the Menu key > Edit Permissions, and change everything to allow and save it.
Now go back to your App World login and see if it works.
REMEMBER, you can also have your BlackBerryID password send you a reset also:

  • Blackberry Curve 8520 how to disable Edge and surf on WIFI only

    Hi,
Could anybody help me to disable Edge network on vodafone and only phone connects to WIFI when using internet on Blackberry Curve 8520.
    It would be great help!

Just turn off Mobile network. Uncheck the box. Doing that means you can't make phone calls, though. That's the only way. If they're both on and a wifi connection is present it is supposed to use that first but some say it still uses mobile data sometimes.

  • Curve 8520 os: 5.0.0.681 randomly crashing and only shows white screen and unable to reboot unless plugged in

Anyone else suffering from their curve 8520 os: 5.0.0.681 randomly crashing and only showing a white screen as well as it being unable to reboot unless it is plugged in? It often occurs when I'm playing media, using apps and maps. Had the same problem with my previous phone so it was sent in for repair and replaced but I'm still suffering from the same problem with the replacement handset! Any ideas how it fix this?
    Thanks

    Hello Me_Again
Welcome to BlackBerry Support Community Forums
Since you got a replacement it the same old Battery you are using or its a new Battery  with your replacement device.Sometime this white Screen or unable to reboot happen because of weak battery .I suggest if you can arrange a good quality Battery then try running your device a few hours to see if the problem is within the device or its just Battery issue.

  • Alarm clock missing after OS update

Hi, I recently updated to the latest OS, and have a major issue with the alarm clock (Curve 8520).
The red alarm clock time has disappeared from below the main clock display, and will not appear when I go to menu then set alarm.
Luckily I am off work this week, so don't need it, but do require it back.
I have tried a battery pull etc, but all to no avail.
    Please help.
    Many thanks

Please make sure to set your alarm to ON and not to Weekend to test. The red text will hide during the weekend itself. If it is because of the new OS, have you tried downgrading back one revision or checking the responses people have given on this OS?

Also, check that you are using only root USB ports...no hubs (sometimes the front-side ports are hubs...use a rear USB port). And make sure to try disabling USB power management in your system configuration (Device Manager).
Also check on conflicting software...it has been reported that the software package NTI Shadow&Ninja can cause a conflict; removing them and reinstalling the BB desktop software allows it to install correctly.
Apologies in advance if this is redundant -- there's no way to be sure if you've already seen and tried these. Also apologies if any are not presently available...RIM takes them up and down at will as they revise things.

  • My macbook air is updated but now I can't download updates for My Alarm Clock, apps and iTunes.

My Mac will try to download the app to 100%, but then it tell me that it is unable to download. I have tried to turn off the firewall and restart. My itunes will not update My Alarm Clock or anything else.

(iTunes) iOS based apps (for iPhones, iPads, and the iPod touch) can be updated directly from the device.
Tap the App Store icon then tap Updates at the bottom of the display.
    For your Mac...
    -  Temporarily disable anti virus software if installed.
    -  Apps such as Little Snitch, Net Nanny, and Hands Off can prevent apps from downloading including Mountain Lion.
Quit the App Store if it's open.
Now open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
    Type or copy/paste:    ~/LIbrary/Caches/com.apple.appstore
Click Go then move the Cache.db file from the com.apple.appstore folder to the Trash.
    Type or copy/paste:    ~/Library/Cookies
Click Go then move the com.apple.appstore.plist file from the Cookies folder to the Trash.
    Type or copy/paste:    ~/Library/Preferences
Click Go then move the com.apple.appstore.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Trash.
Try updating the My Alarm Clock app.

  • Blackberry Curve 8520 (o2) - No data plan - Using browser purely with wifi?

    I have just got a Blackberry curve 8520. I'm on o2.
I haven't got a plan that includes data, so was wondering how I can use my Blackberry internet over wifi.
Under mobile network settings I've disabled data services, so I don't get charged for data without me knowing.
I've also changed my browser configuration to Hotspot browser, and its found my Wireless network okay and saved.
However when I go on browser, It just keeps coming up with unable to connect to the internet.
    Am I doing anything wrong?

I dont have a data plan (work phone) and can get internet through wifi, and have done so without any issue.
check 'Menu', 'Manage Connections', Wifi is ticked, with network name in Green
check your using Hotspot Browser, (you did say this, I know).  So it definately says Hotspot Browser at the top of the browser when open rather O2 Active (or similar)
I'll keep looking to see if there are any settings I can find which could help

Hi and Welcome to the Community!!
There's pretty much no diagnosing those -- they are the equivalent of the random errors in Windows for which tracing the root cause is fruitless. Basically, these are the last out in the programming code -- some event occurred for which there is no handler in the code. The fix is a code update that handles the event...but, again, knowing what the event is is pretty much impossible. So, there are a few things to try:
Sometimes, the code simply becomes corrupt and needs to be refreshed -- just like a reboot:
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
If it won't boot up cleanly, then you may need to try Safe Mode:
KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in safe mode
There might be an updated code set from the carrier -- check them via this portal:
     http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
The toughest possible cause is a badly behaving app. To find it, there are a couple of options. One is to see if you can read the log file:
Go to the home screen. Hold down the "alt" key and type 'lglg'. (You will not see anything while you type). This will bring up the log file. Scroll down (probably many pages) untill you see a line that says 'uncaught execption'. Click on this line. The name of the app will be in the info. Alternative methods for bringing up the logs are in this KB:
KB05349How to enable, access, and extract the event logs on a BlackBerry smartphone
The other method is to remove apps one at a time, waiting a while in between (I usually recommend a week), until the problem ceases...thereby discovering the offending app. Still another method is to reload the BB OS cleanly, leaving some time between adding other apps onto the BB so as to be able to determine exactly which one is the cause.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Alarm Clock

    Hi,
I have iphone 3GS this June 2010. I am in Adelaide Australia. On 3rd of Oct'2010, South Australia started day light saving and the clocks are wound one hour ahead. The time is automatically updated to new time from my service provider ( Telstra) . However I start getting a strange problem with my alarm clock. Say if the alarm clock is set at 6.00 in morning, it actually comes up at 5.00 PM which is the winter time for 6.00 clock. I was unable to understand it for some time but then realize it might be some software glitch. I double checked it and found the alarm always comes up 1 hour before it is set.
    Some body help.

I think it is rediculous for this to even happen on an iPhone especially a 4, it didn't happen on my 3G. For all the money and rig-a-ma-roll you have to go through to get one of these phones, you would swear they were gold and could text to the heavens. None of my other much cheaper AT&T phone I've had in the past 10 years never had this clock/alarm issue. It's simply unexceptable! Just fix it without any hassle on are end.

  • Music alarm clock battery draining

I like to be wake up in the morning by music and in windows8 I can choose music for alarm but sound volume cannot be regulated(too loud for me). So I installed aplication music alarm where sound volume for alarm can be regulated but it drain my battery for around 25% during night in flight mode. If I use windows alarm it doesn't drain battery but it is too loud. Does anybody knows better ap or anything else what I can do.

I played with this a bit tonight after discovering that my son's Touch apparently didn't wake with his iHome iH8.
I think that turning off the automatic screen lock on the Touch will prevent it from locking up, and allow the alarm clock to wake up the Touch to play music. I've run a couple quick tests and they seem to corroborate that. I'll let you know how it goes in the morning...
So, you've got a choice: hassle of no music via your iHome, or hassle of disabling the screen lock.

  • Alarm Clock not working

I have been unable to find a way to get the Alarm clock function to work on my nano.
When setting to "beep" it should use the internal speaker on the nano, but it is not doing so (even with clicker sound turned on or through headphones or both).
Time is set correctly, turned on, etc. but no alarm.
    Anybody else encountered this problem?

I bought my 4gb black nano online, will I have a problem exchanging it instore here in LA? I want to exchange it, I'm very unhappy with the alarms not working. Even the guy at the genius bar couldn't get them to work.

  • What is the default alarm behaviour with snooze disabled ?

I think there is an issue with my iPhone's alarm behaviour when snooze is disabled. As I remember, if an alarm with snooze disabled goes off you have to slide the screen to stop the alarm. Pressing the volume buttons should have no effect. But in my case, pressing the volume button mutes the alarm and it won't sound any more.
This defeats the whole purpose of setting a snooze disabled alarm to make it more difficult to sleep through. The overall behaviour is worser than setting an alarm with snooze which would go off again after the snooze interval if I were to press the volume buttons.
Is this a new default behaviour or is this an issue ? If its an issue what could I do to fix it ?

I Don't see a settings where you can disabled snooze for the built in alarm clock.
