Curve 8520 india problems. need help

hi.
these are the problem i encounter with y blackberry
i can not forward the media files being played...
i can not receive mms (my carrier - airtel haryana )
there is a glitch in the sms applet as sometimes, when i am deleting a conversaition, the mobile fone hangs and i can not re-open that conversation again.
upon restart, the mobile shows "uncaught exception index 8>=8'
NOW. to resolve this, i go to a BB technical solutions centre. there i enquire them what all will they do to this. the tech support person tells me that he will use the deskktop software manager to update my mobile phone. he switches on his laptop and connects my mobile to his laptop and his screen shows a number of updates for my mobile. he is charging me 500 rupees for that. i tell him not to update my mobile phone and i bring it back to my own laptop and repeat the same process again on my own laptop, my laptop says that there is no update available... now my question is that is this a joke? i mean why does d tech. support guy's laptop show him updates while my laptop does not. why do i have to pay him 500 bucks when i can update my mobile phone at home?

  • Curve 8520 browser problems - please help!

    I've had my Curve 8520 for three weeks and it was working like a dream. However, yesterday evening, the browser application suddenly stopped working. I know it's not an issue with my wi-fi, as my laptop is still working fine. When I try to load the browser and visit a website, it flashes up "requesting..." as normal, and then goes to "loading" with a white screen, but refuses to load the web page. What's wrong with it? I've tried changing options in the browser configuration, but nothing works. Please help me!

  • Curve 8520 signal problem please help?

    I am from South Africa. I bought a bb 8520 curve December it worked fine until a month ago. When I sends bum it is slow and shows me a watch and then on my home screen it says searching for signal for a long time than shows sos. Then I get signal and loose it again. I am at Cell C service provider.I thought it was my service provider so I change it with my Husbands Service Provider Vodacom but I does the same.Please help any one. Thank you

  • BlackBerry curve 8520 connection problem

    hi guys , i have BlackBerry Curve 8520 , and i used data plan for BB for 1 day and then it ends cuz i don't have money in my carrier balance , all this is okay . But which isn't okay is that after it ended , i still can use Hotspot browser on WiFi and browse the internet but  i can't use chatting apps like Whatsapp , Zello and Viber and also BlackBerry appworld doesn't want to open,  it tells me " We cannot connect you to BlackBerry AppWorld . Please ensure that your deviceis connected to the wireless network and try again " . But which drive me crazy that when i reboot the device it works good for sometime and then this happens , Plz guys help me . and an important information , this problem is happening with my brother too he has the same device .     Hi! I have a Bb Curve 8520, I bought it from a carrier so, it is locked. Then, i unlocked it. When I am connecting it to wifi, it says no connection. I have to do is, I need to turn on my Data Connection to  have internet connection. That is crazy. please help me! Thanks.

  • My Curve 9300 lost service need help ASAP

    I lost all serivce on my blackberry curve 9300 and the only way I get service is if I go outside my house. Sometimes I get service in my house but it's for 5 seconds and then I get "searching for network" then it goes to "SOS" I need help ASAP.

    Hello...well, that's a bit disconcerting...aiding and abetting what could be an unethical use of service...but I'm hopeful that there are further details that mitigate that suspicion. In any event, review this KB for perhaps helpful information:
    KB03448 Network status indicator shows "SOS" on the BlackBerry smartphone
    It is possible that they have a tower out, and you now are receiving service from a more distant tower, which does not have adequate signal strength to work through the walls of your house. But, sadly, there is no way for you to actually find out if such is the case or not.

  • Blackberry Curve 8520 MMS problem

    Hello!
    Is anyone out there having this problem with a Blackberry Curve 8520?
    My carrier is T-Mobile
    Unlimited TEXT MESSAGING and MMS.
    We upgraded to 2 Blackberry curve 8520 and had old MOTOROLA RAZR phone before.
    With the Motorola and UNLIMITED TEXT MESSAGING with MMS, we were able to send pictures to other people via MMS. After upgrading to the Blackberry Curve 8520, we can no longer send pictures via MMS. When sending a picture via MMS, it sits there with the CLOCK and gets an X after a while. I even called T-Mobile and Blackberry and they have opened up a ticket. We were able to send pictures with the Motorola phones without a DATA PLAN and just with the UNLIMITED TEXT MESSAGING and MMS. There's gotta be others out there with this problem. I don't believe it that Blackberry opened up a ticket and don't have a fix for it.

  • Blackberry curve 8520 wifi problem

    Hi, I just got a Blackberry curve 8520 with T-mobile. I dont have the data plan iI think, since I thought I have wifi at home.
    I connected the wifi but just the phone cant get access to internet, my computer can, also my other phone. So I went to the Options, Browsers, to change the setting, yet it only has 2 options: web2go (which cost money), and hotspot browswer (Which i don't think I have in my area). Helps, please.
    Do I have to pay to have web access? Even if I have wifi at home?

    Yes the 8520 is WiFi capable with UMA.  Without a data plan you will need to set the browse up for Hotspots.

    My zen vision:m is starting to run slowly. It started right after my player froze and i reset it.Now its really slow and barely even switches screens sometimes.Right now its just a black screen with the keypad lit up.Whats wrong with it'sI NEED HELP!

  • Zen Micro problem need help

    Today i was listening to music and my zen micro just froze while playing and no buttons could be pressed and the lock button wasnt on. So i took the battery out and rebooted the player but it froze at the creative screen. I went home and i went to recovery mode and tried to reload the firmware but it said erasing firmware for more than 2 hours. So then i tried a format but it said formating for the same amount of time. I need help please. Also, recently i've had problems witht the headphone jack. When ever i would stick it in it would sound distorted and i would have to move it around until i got it to a certain spot to hear it good again. If anyone else has this problem please tell me. One more thing i had returned my other micro zen in for hard dri've probems and this was my new one do u think if i have to return in (hopefully not) that they would accept it.

    I recently  inherited a curve 8520 (v4.6.1.286 [Platform 4.2.0.122]and deleted only the facebook and yahoo messenger apps. Now,when using wi-fi, I cannot browse the internet. it says "Invalid address" all the time whatever website i browse.  Pls help?

    Try navigating to options-advanced options-browser and make sure you select hotspot browser. Back out and save the settings, then remove the battery to restart your BlackBerry smartphone and try again.

    Now we find all those producer consumer pairs which satisfy the criteria Pi>=Ci
    We have the following sets
    (5,2)(6,2)(7,2),(8,2),(9,2)
    (5,3)(6,3)(7,3),(8,3),(9,3)
    (5,4)(6,4)(7,4),(8,4),(9,4)
    (5,5)(6,5)(7,5),(8,5),(9,5)
    (6,6)(7,6)(8,6),(9,6)
    Let us done each of them with Si
    so we have S1,S2,S3,S4,S5
    we assign a third parameter called weight to each element in Si which has satisfied the condition Pi>=Ci;
    so we we will have
    (5,2,ai),(6,2,bi),(7,2,ci)....etc for S1
    similarly for S2 and so on.
    We need to find in each set Si the the pair which has the smallest weight.
    if we have (5,2,3) and (6,2,4) then 5,2,3 should be chosen.We should make sure that there is only one pair in every set which is finally chosen on the basis of weight.
    Suppose we get a pair (5,2,3) in S1 and (5,2,3) in S2 we should see that (5,2,3) is not used to compare to compare with any other elements in the same set S2,

    In your example you selected the pair with the greatest
    distance from the first set, and the pair with the least
    distance from the second. I don't see how the distance
    function was used.
    Also it's not clear to me that there is always a solution,
    and, if there is, whether consistently choosing the
    furthest or the closest pairs will always work.
    The most obvious approach is to systematically try
    all possibilities until the answer is reached, or there
    are no possibilities left. This means backtracking whenever
    a point is reached where you cannot continue. In this case
    backtrack one step and try another possibility at this
    step. After all possible choices of the previous step,
    backtrack one more step and so on.
    This seems rather involved, and it probably is.
    Interestingly, if you know Prolog, it is ridiculously
    easy because Prolog does all the backtracking for you.
    In Java, you can implement the algorithm in much the same
    way as Prolog implementations do it--keep a list of all the
    choice points and work through them until success or there
    are none left.
    If you do know Prolog, you could generate lots of random
    problems and see if there is always a solution.

    If you iPod is defective, in warranty and not abused Apple will replace it with a refurbished one.  They may or may not replace it with the white one.  You will have to ask.
    Other users have asked the same question but I hav never heard them come back with whether or not they go the color changed.

  • NONE of the buttons on my curve 8520 are working. HELP!

    So, today I pulled out my phone and the screen was black. I took out the battery, put it back in and the LED just kept blinking. I pulled the battery out again and left it for a bit. It turned on, when it turned on my phone was locked. I couldn't press any buttons. No matter what it was, the four buttons on the top row, the trackpad or any of the keys weren't working. My phone still turns on normally but none of the buttons work. 
    I have a Curve 8520.

  • Blackberry Curve 8520 - Internet problem connecting

    Hello, I have bought my daughter a pink bb curve 8520 for christmas. She is on the Tesco (O2 Network), phone was unlocked when purchased. I have been into Teso today to try and resolve intertnet connection issue.  Advised to load Desktop Manager disc which I have done and also installed  Opera Mini 5.1 - this I have and installed on the phone, but still no connection. I have Wi- Fi setup on the phone, this is working ok, but still no connection to the Internet.
    Could you advise how to progress? When clicking browser either get blanck white screen or " contact your service provider"  - note  Mobile Network, show that "Data Services" is set to "On" and have all the Tesco setting set up as well.
    This is very frustrating so anyone who could provide any assistance would be much appreciated.
    I have seen the word Edge in the right hand corner of the screen, not sure what this represents ?

    BIS (Blackberry Internet Service) is a proprietary service required for data connections on a Blackberry device. Without this you'll experience many issues with features that most people buy the BB for.
    Such as:
    Can't set up a personal email.
    Web Browsing will not work.
    Applications that require a data connection will not function. (Social Networking for example)
    and Blackberry Messenger does not work.
    I would check with your service provider to ensure that the service is provisioned on your plan.
    Disclaimer: I'm just a regular user like the rest of you. I have spent a lot of time learning the limitations of the Blackberries to know how to fix most problems. If I have suggested a fix, please give a kudo and mark as a solution!
