Curve 8520 speaker cutting out - flips between headphones and speaker

Hey there, my curve has just started clicking when recieving or making calls. The icon in the top left is flipping between headphones & normal. The store said I need to reset the factory settings which would be annoying! Any thoughts?

If anyone needs an answer to this:
1) Plug in headphones/headset into 8520
2) Place a call (headset symbol should be at top-left)
3) While in call, remove headphones/headset (headset symbol should disappear)
4) It should now be fixed. If not, keep inserting and removing headphones/headset.

  • Curve 8520 randomly cuts out when speaking

I've recently just had to change handsets to the Curve 8520 model; mine is approximately 1 year old and previously used as a pay as you go phone but my SIM card is on contract.
However, whenever I make or receive calls my voice will randomly cut out to the recipient for a few seconds and then return to normal but will reoccur shortly after even though I have full signal. How can I resolve this issue? Thanks

  • Bad cordination between headphones and speaker

Just got my new iPhone, and for now all perfect, but something really strange is going on.
When my headphones are plugged, any sound (music, alarm, anything) plays thorugh the speaker and when I unplugg them it stops playing thorugh the speakers.
It is pretty annoying, because for now, I can't listen to music anywhere, since I can only hear it through the speaker, and its not like I'm going to play it through the speakers when I'm like waiting at the doctor's or when I take the bus.
I've tried unplogging the headphones several times, and plugging them back on, as I read it worked for some people, but for me it didn't.
Im using the normal headphones that came with the iPhone, so it isn't a headphone problem.
Any help would be really appreciated it
    Thank you

Have you reset the phone? Try that first. Press and hold the home button and the power button until you see the apple logo (ignore when it tells you to slide to power off). After it resets, hopefully that will clear it up ... hopefully .....

  • Easy way to switch between Headphones and Surround in

I'm looking for some sort of utility that can make it easier to switch between headphones and surround speaker setu
    ps.
As it is right now, I use my headphones for FPS gaming and such but when I listen to music, etc., I want to then have XP go back to settings for 5. surround. I keep both my headset and speakers hooked up and just power off the speakers when I used my headphones.
Is anyone aware of a utility that can automate this?
At the worst perhaps just a tray icon that I can quickly select the desired setup but better would be a utility that watches the current apps and lets me tell it what the right settings are for each and change it on the fly.Message Edited by Agrajag on 0-08-200804:57 PM

i don't know of any way to automate this process.... i have speakers and a surround sound system, but my computer is usually set to the surround sound setting. i just leave it like that when i use my headphones. the headphones work alright when the surround sound setting is on, as far as i can tell. hope this helps

  • Docked T500 - Switch between headphones and speakers

    Hey guys,
I am using my T500 with an Advanced Mini Dock at work. I keep the headphones (with microphone) plugged into the docking station.
Sometimes I want to listen to the audio on my laptop's speakers rather than inside the headphones. Is there any way I can make this switch without unplugging the jack from the docking station.
I know that above the volume bar for some systems you are able to switch between headphones and speakers and also, up until ~1 month ago I was able to do this from the SmartAudio utility, but now I can't. I can just switch between SPDIF and headphones.
I am using Windows 7 64-bit and I have all the latest drivers and apps that come using the "System Update" utility.
Please let me know if you have a solution for this.
    Thank you,
    Ciprian

I'm pretty sure that the blame for this lies entirely with Microsoft and their stupid hardware-detecting W7 OS. Yes, it actually detects when you unplug the headphones, tells you what you just did, and promptly resets all sorts of things. The most sensible thing you can do (apart from reverting to XP, which doesn't do this) is to plug an external stereo jack to stereo jack socket extension lead, and plug either your headphones or speakers into that instead, whilst leaving the plug end permanently in the laptop. Microsoft can't pull that stupid stunt on an external connector, so you should be okay with that.

  • IPhone  no longer plays music through headphones or on speaker but will work when making a call on both headphones and speaker.

  • Ipod is playing music out of the headphones and the speakers at the same

My ipod is playing music out of the headphones and the speakers at the same time and I can't figure out why. I reconnect the headphones and it still plays out of both...It is like it doesn't recognize that there are headphones plugged in, but yet it still plays out of them. Help would be appreciated. And the headphones are all the way plugged in

Ah my ipod is not the only one doing this obviously...i thought i was alone in this world...it still has this problem after an entire month...and no this problem has nothing to do with my computer...although sometimes plugging in the ipod to the computer eliminates the problem for a while.
Sometimes i listen to it at the loud volume that the other poster is talking about through the headphones and it will randomly recognize the headphones after about 30-60 minutes usually. but then the next day it will have the same problem

  • Ringtone play through headphone and speaker

With the headphone (come with the box) plug into iphone 4, when I selecting the ringtone from the settings > sounds > ringtone, the iphone will play the sound through headphone and speaker. Same things happen either with silent/mute switch turn on or off. When in public area, I would like to have the ringtone to play through my headphone only not the phone speaker, is that anyway to do this?

with iOS 4.1 on both my 3GS and my wife's iPhone 4, I can hear the ringtone through the headphones regardless of whether the phone is muted or not. I can hear through the speaker (with and without headphones) only when the phone is not muted...
no setting for it, but it should work...

  • Sound bouncing between Headphones and Internal Speaker

I'll use my headphones for an extended period of time and after I unplug the headphones, the sound will "bounce" btw Internal Speaker & Headphones per the Sound Output display within System Preferences. I am running the latest OS X. I do have an older PowerBook G4 12"...but I don't really remember encountering this issue until recently.
    Thoughts? Suggestions?

I have the same problem - when the headphones are not plugged in, I hear and see the sound output in the System Preferences -> Sound -> Output -> Choose a device for sound output shifting between Internal Speakers, Headphones and Built-in Audio (ispk).
When I plug in the headphones, though, the sound stablilises to the headphones. The sound, from iTunes at least, also seems to be ok with AirPort Express with AirTunes. Also if I play a music video with Quicktime, things return to normal. But simply playing music to the internal speakers is problematic.
My PowerBook G4 is also almost 2 years old, and just started doing this today. I suspect it has something to do with the headphone jack and auto-sensing whether it's plugged or not. But I've never noticed the Built-in Audio (ispk) option before this problem started up.

  • Audio cut-out to B&W Airplay Speaker

I experience annoying audio dropouts from B&W A7 Airplay speakers.  A7 is located downstairs and wireless router (Westell 327W) is upstairs (office), although not that far away.  I am streaming from new iPod touch, not PC.  I suspect the problem is signal quality/strength from the router.  Is there a way to improve this?  New router? Signal booster?  Other trick wireless setup?  Hard wiring is not possible.
Other info: Music dropped this morning, even with the PC off (but router on).  I noticed the wireless signal indicator on my iPod occasionally drops from 3 bars to 2 while downstairs listening.  When I walked down to the basement with the iPod, the indicator dropped to 1 bar and music stopped.  While standing next to the router upstairs, there was no drop in audio downstairs even when I turned on PC, opened Outlook to download mail, then downloaded Flash Player update.  Thus, it seems that I am not streaming directly from the iPod to the A7, but rather the streaming is going from the iPod up to the router then from the router to the A7.  Is that correct?
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
One more piece of information in case it matters.  I also have an Airport Express upstairs, in my den (which is room next to office where router is located).  The AE is tied into my Yamaha soundbar so that I can stream music to the soundbar if I want to listen in my den.  Since the AE is part of my wifi network, I didn't know if somehow the AE affected whatever routing is going on in my system.  (I was surprised to find that if I turned off my router, the wireless streaming to my soundbar via AE also stopped.  Perhaps I should un-join the AE from my wifi network.  While this would prevent me from streaming from my PC, I believe I could still stream directly from my iPod to the AE since it worked before I figured out how to get it to join my network.)
One additional pc of info:  While streaming from iPod to A7 (standing upstairs), I unplugged the AE and this had no effect on streaming.  So I gather the presence of the AE is not the source of the dropouts or has an adverse effect on wifi signal.  I also streamed different music from my PC to the Soundbar via AE while the iPod (while standing upstairs) streamed to the A7 downstairs.  No dropout in spite of dual simultaneous streaming which one would think would overtax the router if that were the problem.
Finally, this problem is intermittent with some occasions better or worse than others. I have sat in my kitchen and listened to music on the A7 for 45 mins without interruption.  Then, it cut-out intermittently a few times, then played continuously thereafter.

    Hi -
Check that you are not attempting to capture through areas where nothing is recorded on the tape - i.e., such as when the camera operator stops the recording, winds the tape back for a playback check and then leaves a gap of a couple of seconds of blank tape before the next recording begins.
If you attempt to capture through one of these areas, the clip invariably goes out of sync.
It is tedious, but you may need to capture in smaller chunks.
To test this, capture a small portion of the tape that is currently playing out of sync in FCE and see if your short test capture is OK.
    Hope this helps.

  • Sound switches between headphones and speakers?

    Hello,
I have an HP Pavilion dv6t laptop with Windows 7 64-bit installed. For some reason, when I have headphones plugged in, it will switch between headphone-sound and speaker-sound even when it's on a flat surface. I thought it was just my headphones at first so I used a friend's and that seemed to solve it, but it's happening again with a second pair of headphones. I've tried updating the sound drivers but it still does it.
    Any advice?

    Hey Jason,
Thank you for the reply. The same thing happens when the headphone is plugged in. It will work for a while, and then it'll start skipping. It's definitely a confusion thing, as there are even times when it plays through the speaker while the headphone is plugged in and tries to play through the headphone when it's unplugged. I've read about trying to tweak it with a hairpin or what not, but that hasn't produced any specific results.

  • Sound Coming From Both Headphone and Speaker (Elitebook 8460p)

I have windows 7 64-bit and when I plug headphones into the jack in the front right, the sound comes out of both the speaker and headphones. Here's what I've tried to fix the problem:
    1) BIOS update to P20
    2) Audio driver update to latest on HP site
    3) Make headphones not the communication default
I'm running out of options here, and it seems like nothing will solve this. Thanks

I've got the same problem as well. It's very frustrating. Does anyone have an answer?
