My curve crashed and it has been displaying the hour-glass screen on and off for about a half hour and won't turn back on. How do I fix this?

did you remove the battery for a few minutes?

  • HELP! My Blackberry Curve 8530 won't reboot

Last night, my blackberry was freezing up, so I took the battery out to reboot it. I fell asleep with it rebooting on the charger, but when I woke up around eight hours later it still wasn't finished rebooting. The white line was only about 3/4 of the way full and it wasn't moving, so I took the battery out to reboot it again. It was going fine until it reached that spot again, and stopped about 3/4 of the way full. I took the battery out for an extended period of time and tried again, but the same thing happened. What shoud i do?

  • Help Blackberry Curve 8530 won't join calls!

Okay so I have the curve 8530 and when I am on a call and another call comes in and I want to conference I can't. I can flash between the calls but add participant only allows me to add call from contact list.  Thanks for the replies.

The "conference call" option only works if YOU are the one in the middle, so to speak, and initiating the calls to each party. If you are RECEIVING a call, you cannot initiate a conference with someone else from that call.
You would call person #1, then flash and call person #2, then flash again and all three of you are connected.
To conference with an INCOMING call, the person calling YOU would have to initiate the three way calling.
    I hope that makes sense....

  • Help! Blackberry Curve 8530 won't go to Home screen only stays at carrier screen!

The other day I updated my Quick Pull app. I forgot to reset the times in which i wanted it to reboot. Last night I remembered and set the time. I normally set it for 3, but since it was 3 it wouldn't be able to reboot until this evening. After I was done with my phone, I rebooted it manually by going to the app and clicking reboot. My battery was also low in the red so I stuck the charger in it. When I woke up this morning my phone was dead, if had fell on the floor and the charger came out. I put the charger back in a waited a little while for it to charge. When it came on, it only went to the Cricket screen, but would not go to the home screen. I took the battery out multiple times, I waited patiently, yet my phone is still stuck on the cricket screen.. Is there anyway to reset it so that it can work again?

    Please try this first:
Leave the device to charge 2-3 hours, and then, still connected to the charging cable, remove the the battery from the device a few seconds and reinsert it. If it boots--leave it to charge to 100% (check Options > Status for the percentage). If it doesn't reboot on the first attempt, leave it several more hours. I've had one charge for two days before it came back to life after an extreme battery depletion. Every 3-4 hours, with the device still connected to the charger, you can remove and replace the battery to see if it reboots.

  • Blackberry Curve 8530 won't let me set up my email

When I go to the Setup file, thre is no icon for my email set up.  When I go to the setup wizard for my email, it doesn't give me the option for my personal email - only for a corporate account.  Help! I want my email on my phone!

    Hi,
First, try to remove the battery and keep it out for at least 30 seconds.  Then put it back in and allow your device to restart.  See if that works.  If not, lets try something else.  We will now resend your service books.  Normally, you do this under Email Settings, but obviously, you can not do that route.  So, you need to resend your host routing table.  On your device, go to Options>Advanced Options>Host Routing Table.  Now, press the Menu key(button to the left of the trackpad) and select Register Now.  It will take a moment, but your device will be re-registered with the Blackberry Internet Service and you should recieve your service books, which will give you the option for Email Settings.  Hope this helps,

  • Blackberry Curve 8530 Stuck on the Reboot Loading Page

Help!  I turned off my blackberry this morning and then removed the battery, replaced the battery and the phone began to reboot.  It has been stuck on the screen that says BlackBerry with the loading bar at the bottom about 3/4 of the way loaded for about 45 minutes.  I tried rebooting it a few times at first but it kept stopping at the same point in the loading bar, about 3/4 of the way.  What should I do??

I am having the same problem and am at a loss as to what is causing the problem and how to fix it.
This is my 5th BB Curve 8530 replacement and it has not been a year, have been having this problem and Boost Mobile or Sprint/Nextel cannot explain why, they just keep sending the same phone and the same problem happens time and time again. I am so frustrated, I am thinking of getting something other than Blackberry I cannot see myself paying $250.00 for the same phone and going this experience again.

  • Blackberry Curve 8530 keeps rebooting

Hello, I  have had my curve 8530 for about 18 months now, and a week ago it started rebooting suddenly, usually when I'm checking email or talking to someone. It repeatedly reboots unless I plug it into the charger. Only then will it stay on after it reboots. I've tried remeoving the battery and putting it back in, but it doesn't help. Also, my blackberry app store icon has disappeared. I tried downloading it again and still can't find it. Is there any way these problems can be fixed?

  • Curve 8530 no longer works

My Curve 8530 decided to overheat and kill the hardware on my phone. I can replace the battery, but it immediately dies.
I walk into US Cellular to their service center to see whats up, I am told this is an issue that has created headaches for many people, yet I didn't know about it. Apparently, I was supposed to know about the SOFTWARE UPDATE via FACEBOOK. That software update was supposed to fix this hardware update.
So, since this update was only known to the public via facebook, many people are losing their phones and having to turn around and buy a new or a used phone. I will have to do the same, but it won't be a Blackberry. Horrible customer service on both ends. I should have known about the issue either by bill, or phone call. A phone call is apparently illegal but yet they can call me telling me they updated my voice mail.
See ya RIM - I had a good 13 months, but if you can't create a product to last longer than a 2 year contract. You just aren't good enough. STAND BEHIND YOUR PRODUCT.
And you wonder why you have fallen out of the runnings for the best smartphone as of late.

  • My blackberry curve 8530 shut off and now it doesn't want to completely turn on it stays loading.

My blackberry curve 8530 shut off and now it doesn't want to completely turn on it stays loading.

    Hello !
    Try the following.
Just pull out the battery and reinsert it again for the POWER restart.
Once it reaches to the loading screen, just connect your device to the charger and keep it idol for 2-3hours.
At times BlackBerry Curve 8520 takes longer time then the usual for rebooting.
    Hope this resolves your Problem!

  • 8530 won't work unless it's plugged in

I'm stuck in the 80s with a corded phone again.
It works fine if it's plugged in. But when I unplug it and try to use it, a white screen will flash and then it turns off completely.  It automatically tries to reboot, but fails on most occasions. I have to hard reboot to get it to work again and still have to have it plugged in.  Anyone have ideas on how to get this to work??

  • Blackberry Curve 8530 bought May 2010, 3 dead batteries later...now no apparent life on BB

Can anybody suggest anything or I'll just have to move on to another device.  My BB Curve 8530 bought in May 2010.  Batteries keep dying, phone gets extremely hot, then won't charge.  Nothing works.  Sprint would not make the phone good.  NOTHING happened to it, period.  It just overheated itself and wouldn't cool down.  Burned my fingertips getting the battery out.  At one point, did get another $70 battery (3 purchased since May), all drained.  What is going on with this?  Sprint could and would not fix it or replace my BB unless I wanted a "refurbished phone, and after paying almost $300 for this one, why would they "offer" a refurbished, garbage can phone?  I'm about at my wit's end trying to keep this phone.  Any ideas?  I've charged it, bought batteries, and now nothing.  Blank screen, cold.  Nothing in the service book helped.  It is like it isn't even there.  [Edited for privacy] if that is supposed to be the pin, it won't take it, either.  Any ideas?

    Brenda1216 wrote:

Because that is the warranty replacement method you agree to at purchase of the device, and that is your service provider's policy.
    Good luck.

  • Blackberry Curve 8530 text issues, please help!

I have a problem opening some texts on my blackberry curve 8530, most of the texts i get are threaded and i can read them fine. When I get texts from certain people and i open it, its just black and i cannot see any text so I have to forward the text to my phone to see what the person has texted me.  Then i have to delete the text i forwarded to myself otherwise it wont work the next time i send another fwd text to myself to see what they said. It happens consistently with the same people in my contact list.  Most people are fine, but theres a few people i text that this happens with and it happens every time they text me. Ive looked through settings and I have no idea how to fix this or how to change it. Its getting really old to have to fwd the texts people send me back to my phone to read them every time they text  me. Can anybody please help me????? It would be much appreciated.  Please please help me with this or explain to me whats going on with it.  I have no other problems with my phone other than my screen freezing up every once in a while.
    Thanks so much!
    Diana

Diana, the first thing I would suggest before doing something more invasive like a device wipe and restore is a simple reboot:  With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot.
    See if the issue perists.

A soft reset may resolve the issues outlined on your post. To perform a soft reset on your phone please follow the instructions below:
Remove battery with phone ON. Replace battery after 10 seconds. Power phone ON. Allow phone to complete the applications registration.
Please keep in mind that Smartphones are like computers and from time to time they will stop responding due to multiple factors including the amount of applications running at the same time, the amount of media saved and the amount of memory available, and just like our computers need to be rebooted, our phones need to be rebooted from time to time.
