Curve 9300 Bad network connection

Help!!  I went to Jordan and unlocked my phone for use abroad.  When I returned I can no longer get Vodaphone Network Connection unless I am in a town with a boosted signal.
I had no issues with the phone until this time
I have tried everything to fix, I have been to the Vodaphone shop, gone though all the troubleshooting options with no luck

All of my songs were erased (i'm not really sure why it just happened while i was charging it. It said something about factory settings (?)) and it said to restore it to fix the problem. When i press restore it says the network connection has timed out. I'm sure everything is connected also. i have no idea what to do to fix it and i cant sync my songs back on till i do! my iPod is useless at the moment.
do you think that this problem similar to yours?

    Hello,
if I using LC Server via proxy, for some larger files the LC Workbench/Designer gives me an "Can't read the ressource. Could be due invalid permissions, or a bad network connection." ca. 2 sec (!!!) after double click an that ressource.
    The workbench Log tells me:

Is it possible to change timeout values or other to correct this misbehaviour?

  • BB Curve 9300 won't connect to email servers

Hi all please bear with me as I try to explain this!
I have a BB Curve 9300 on PAYG with Orange. It has always worked fine and emails for all email accounts always came through.
Then yesterday Orange tried to take the £5 for the BB services but I didn't have enough credit so obviously it all ended. I topped up today and they have taken the money. However my emails are not updating/downloading.
I have checked and I have the latest software and I have gone into options -device- advanced system settings etc and it says my handheld is registered for bb services. (But now when I go to options, I can't find the device option to re do this!). If I go to setup - email accounts, it tries to open up the emails I had set up it says checking etc then comes up with your device had a problem connecting to the server.
I've tried a battery out reset etc to no avail. If I click retry it just keeps coming up with the same message. I can access Twitter and Facebook on it (Twitter is slow and alerts take a good few minutes to come through).
My wifi is set up and working, I've got the 4/5 dots, i'm connected to 3G and have UMA in the top right of the screen. So everything appears to be the same as it was before the payment problem.
Can anyone please suggest what to do? Please keep it simple as I'm not that great with IT stuff, until I know what i'm doing!
Any advice will be much appreciated!!
    thanks
    Mary

Hi and Welcome to the Community!
I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):
    1) Register HRT
KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive to your Messages app
    2) Delete and Resend Service Books (pre-BB10 devices only)
KB05000Delete the service book for the BlackBerry Internet Service email account from the BlackBerry smartphone
If you have no CMIME entry, then skip the deletion
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Please wait for "Activation" Messages, one per already configured email account, to arrive in your Messages. If you have no already configured email accounts, please wait 1 hour.
    3) Reboot
Pre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. IF this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.
See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you could try deleting and re-adding your configurations for the affected email accounts. Otherwise, you should contact your mobile service provider for formal support.
    Good luck!

  • Blackberry curve 9300 manual network selection

when i set my curve 9300 to manual network selection, and i select my networ, if i go in a palce underground or something and i lose the signal, the phone doesn' t pick up the signal automatically when i am back in a coverage area. instead, i find an alert window that says "can't find home network and asks me  to chose whether i waast to: set it to automatic, go into settings, or cancel" and i have to either go in settings and select it again or jsut set it to automatic and it will find it. in other smart phones it usually gives that alert, but as soon as i am back in a coverage area, it picks up the home network  on its own without having to go to settings. so is this the normal behavior?

Correct, because you have set the device MANUAL network selection.

  • Bad network connection on Nokia X6

Does anybody experience problems with incoming calls on the X6? I have been getting numerous missed call alerts even though i have full signal and its extremely frustrating. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for trying to help.
I cannot get on the internet at all. None of the apps requiring a internet connection work. They are all complaining about a "network issue".
I have been out this morning visiting my daughter, same problem there.

  • Promoting DCs with bad network connections ?

What is the quickest and best process for promoting and re-promoting domain controllers at sites with slow network links ?  Install From Media does not increase the time significantly.

Install From Media does not increase the time significantly.
Why? It decreases the amount of replication traffic. I would recommend IFM. Or promote your domain controller in your local site and then ship it to the branch site (you accompany the DC, do not leave it alone since it contains hashes). However I still recommend
    Install From Media.

Help! Wifi is on but browser will not even open. Do i have to pay for data with T mobile even though i'm using my talktalk home hub (which should be free over wifi)    ????????????

  • Curve 3G/9300 no longer connects to Nokia CK-7W Handsfree set

I've just updated to OS6 and my BB Curve 9300 no longer connects to the bluetooth handsfree set in my car (Nokia CK-7W).
    No problems before the update.
Presumably this will be a software issue rather than hardware as everything else still connects without any problem, any suggestions?
I've already tried deleting and re-pairing, encryption on and off, and yes bluetooth is switched on!

Unfortunately not. And mine is a 8520, cannot be upgraded the OS. My solution is: I have a Nokia phone, whenever I am in my car, I forward my calls on BB to my Nokia number. Not very professional, but at least it works...

  • Blackberry curve 9300 photos wont view

My blackberry is taking pictures, but when i go to view them in my media, i cant see them? is there anything i can do to solve this?

    Hi EMS1994,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community.
Please try to reinsert both your media card and your battery and test again.
If this does not resolve the issue, are you able to see the pictures by navigating to your Pictures folder in Explore? This KB article provides the steps. "Explore the media card and Internal Memory Content" http://bbry.lv/SczDmH
Are you able to access the pictures using the BlackBerry® Desktop Software when your BlackBerry® Curve™ 9300 smartphone is connected to a computer?
    Hope this helps.

  • Accuweather on Curve 9300 never connects

    Hi all,
I wonder if you can assist with a perplexing issue.
I am having a major issue with Accuweather on a Blackberry Curve 9300. when I install it and open it it simply never connects and I have noticed that my BIS service (blackberry logo next to the 3G notification) seems to disappear at the same time. Once Accuweather is closed down, my BIS service(logo) returns.
    I have tried the following:
    Upgraded my SIM card.
    Uninstalling and reinstalling Accuweather.
Done a factory reset (loader.exe /resettofactory) on the blackberry and reloaded the OS6 firmware (6.0.0.749) for the phone and then reinstalled Accuweather.
Nothing helps, it does the same thing every time.. Please  note that this is a brand new phone and all other services, such as email etc. work flawlessly. also my husband has an identical phone with the same OS 6 and the same upgraded SIM card and Accuweather works fine on his phone.
Any assistance in this regard would be really appreciated.
    Thanking you,
    Gail de Wet.

You tried running a diagnostic report, settings>network and connections>mobile network>press blackberry button>select diagnostic test>press bb button>run, see then if everything is working

  • Connection Problem with Vodafone on Curve 9300

I have curve 9300 with OS version 6 and with a Vodafone prepaid connection in Kolkata Circle. Recently I activated BIS 399 plan (Mail+Maggenger+Surfing) plan but Vodafone is still unable to provide me the service. From the day of activation ( 8 days ago)  my tower is constantly fluctuatuin between 3G and 3G(B) when the network mode is selected as 2G&3G. They have asked me to select my Network Mode to 2G only and after that my tower is shifting between edge and EDGE. They haven yet figured out the problem. I do not think that there is any problem with my handheld but their network. Anyone here faced problem similar to this please share your experience. Please also help in this regard. Thanks in advance.

    Hello ashoct28,
In this case we can try to reload the software on the BlackBerry smartphone to make sure it is running the latest version and there are no issues with the OS.

  • Curve 9300 connecting to boot rom problem

Hi everyone, I have a curve 9300 and I tried to install an update to the OS. The problem is when i get to the part that says "connecting to the boot rom" the phone starts rebooting and goes like this 3 or 4 times, resulting on a failed update. I already have tried to use another USB port, another computer, connect the blackberry to the pc with the battery pulled, tried another usb cord, all of which failed. Can anyone help me solving this?

Hello Edi27 and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Sorry to hear you are experiencing an issue installing your device software.
Did this error come up after the update installed or during the update?
Does the device display any error on the screen or just the BlackBerry start up logo?
Have you tried to reboot your device in Safe Mode as shown in KB17877?
    Thanks!

  • I REALLY NEED HELP WITH MY CURVE 9300'S WIFI!

    HI !
i have a blackberry curve 9300, OS5. I got it secondhand. It worked really great, but the problem started when I've done that thing within the host routing table. Though my wifi is connected, I can't use the internet. whenever I tried the BB browser and any other application (e.g. facebook, opera mini, etc.) i get a message that says 'i am not in an area that supports blah blah...' or 'unable to connect to internet please try again later'. I checked the browser under browser config and it is set to my local network provider. i changed it to hotspot browser, saved it. But whenever I go back it also goes back to my local network provider. i have tried almost EVERY troubleshooting I've read on this forums and in other forums but still no luck. The problem worsened when I did a security wipe on the emails, contacts, etc.
    -APN settings are disabled
-default browser set to hotspot browser
    -firewall disabled
    -data services are on
Everyone said that it has nothing to do with that activation enterprise so I did not configured it after wiping.
I also tried doing a hard reboot (pulling the battery out and waiting for 5 minutes before turning it on) but it will only fix the problem for sometime and it will go back again.
Calling my network provider would just suggest to get a plan when in fact, I was able to use the device's wifi well before without any plan.
I don't want to upgrade my BB to OS6 coz it easily drains the battery of device and I cannot afford doing that because I go out a lot.
I also tried changing my sim card and network provider but wasn't successful.
I also tried deleting the name of my local network provider in the service book under options.
What do you think could be the problem? Any suggestions? I really, really, REALLY, need help.
PLEASE ! THANK YOU VERY MUCH IN ADVANCE!

    Hi miochan984,
    Welcome to the support community!
A supported data plan from your mobile network provider may actually be required to use the Facebook for BlackBerry smartphones application as well as the browser. I would recommend verifying with them which services they support over a Wi-Fi connection without a data plan.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
