Curve 9300 trackpad

Hi, can anyone help me please with my phone? Sometimes, while scrolling down, the cursor jumps to the top of the screen. Sometimes while trying to select an app it jumps up one or two. Is there anything that I can do to fix this myself?

I'm not sure how tape will help.  If there is a physical problem with the trackpad, I don't know of a quick fix besides going to a repair shop or store.

I've had issues with the trackpad freezing before but after a few hard resets it's always fine. 30 resets later, it still doesn't work, so I can't scroll or even press it to get to any of my applications.
I've read the forum posts on finding the screw at the back, but this doesn't seem to be there for the 9300...can someone give some helpful and specific to the 9300 advice?

i would take it back to the shop that you bought it from if you bought it off the internet then take it back to your service provider shop and see what they say i had this same problem with my phone. they should send it off to get fixed if it is still within warrenty. you might be without a phone for a few weeks but it will get fixed as they did with mine
    hope this helps
    thanks

  • Blackberry curve 9300 trackpad is no longer working, how do I fix this?

My trackpad has stopped working - I cannot click it or scroll. This is a huge irritation as I can no longer access anything on my phone unless I type in 'text messages' 'blackberry messenger' etc, and press the enter button.
Before it stopped working it was very tempremental and would scroll rapidly up and down lists or messages without my control.
I would like help how to fix this, as I do not want to waste money at a phone shop and I don't want to go without my phone for a number of weeks.
    Thank you for any help.

    I have a solution that SHOULD work for everyone;
First: Remove the BlackBerry's back cover.
    Second: Remove the battery
    Third: Remove the Sim Card.
Fourth: Click and hold down the trackpad whilst pushing the metal plate behind the sim inwards.
    Hope this works

This problem occured a couple of weeks after i brought the phone and its still happening! i've tried taking the Battery out several times and it did work at first but now it just doesnt, it goes days without working!
I thought it may be a problem with the software as that always crashes and freezes multiple times a day -.-
It's still under garuntee so should i take it back. Its got scratches and stuff on the screen it but that should effect the software or trackpad or me being able to take it back?
Please help, its getting so annoying!
    Thanks

  • TrackPad problem for curve 9300

Dears, I have bought a new BB curve 9300 more than a month ago from UAE and i am having a problem with the trackpad the sometimes it needs several touches to direct me up, down left or right , i tried the sensitivity from the BB SW but it has nothing to do , I noticed that the trackpad is raised a millimeter from the screen service level please advise how to resolve this problem Br Mina

Could do with knowing if moisture may be an issue. If it is or could be you must take out the battery, Sim and MC and leave it to dry out in a warm place for a couple of days if it got moist or 5 days if wet.

  • Some problems I have with my Curve 9300. Hope you can help me.

    Hi everyone.
I decided to post here to know if someone can help me out, I'm a blackberry curve 9300 user - O.S. 6, I've had the smarthpone for a while now, but since the beginning I've been having some minor details, I want to know if there's a simple solution for those things.
    1. Browser.
Since the beginning, the phone native browser has this problem where it starts to load a page but at the middle it just stops and goes back to the home page, so that I can't load any page. I have to search for another browser which works just fine, but maybe there is something I can do to solve this since youtube or othe pages only load on the BB browser and as I said, it doesn't load the pages. It doesn't promp any error message or anything.
    2. Don't-know-what-it's-for Icon.
For a few months now, there's this icon that I can't tell what it's for, I've already search all over the APP for updates but nothing, I just decided to coexist with the icon as it never goes away. Maybe there's something I'm not doing right to check the icon. Here's a screen capture of the mentioned icon.

    3. Crazy pointer.
Sometimes, not always, the pointer just go mad, it start to move by itself, and when one tries to write it becomes impossible, I've tried changing the sensitivity of the pad but no changes.
Thanks in advance for any advices you can give me.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Awesome! You should now be fine for those two... my guess is the crazy pointer may just be due to an over-sensitive trackpad (usually happens when the trackpad gets covered in skin oils). Try cleaning it once in a while with a soft cloth to remove any finger oils and that should help with that.

  • Curve 9360 TrackPad gone bust what to do?

Hi guys I've had my BB curve 9360 for around 2 months now, recently the trackpad started not working I've tried all of the methods such as taking out sim memory card battery etc these all worked temporarily but did not fix the issue.
These methods have finally stopped working and my trackpad light doesn't come on at all now, I think it's tracking functions have come to an 'end', it does click to open things but it doesn't scroll so as you can imagine almost impossible to navigate on my phone. Having to use the search function to find things now, but it's hell trust me...
I have tried looking online for a replacement trackpad but because this phone is still fairly new I have been unable to find a replacement OEM replacement. All I see on ebay and other online sites is trackpads for other curves not this one...
I am wondering if a curve 9300 3g trackpad would work or if anyone can tell me the best thing to do cause this is a real nuisance for me, I love this phone but right now I can't do a thing with it...
Is the 9360 trackpad any different from the one used in the 9300 3g?
    Thank you guys

OK, so you really don't have any warranty, having bought the device used.
I don't know who will have the parts if those two links do not.

  • Track pad on Curve 9300 malfunctioning

Hi I recently got my first Blackberry, the Curve 9300 about a month ago. It's been perfect up until a few days ago when the track pad started to act strangely. It's getting worse and worse. If i'm trying to scroll down, it'll scroll up, etc. I've tried taking the battery out and reloading it, i've tried changing the settings and nothing seems to be working. Help please!! I've only had it a month!

    Hi dhirenjh,
Welcome to BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Did this issue with the trackpad improve when you uninstalled the 7 applications you had installed?
Sounds like it could be caused by low memory. Try following this article to maximize your device memory and testing for the issue again. http://bbry.lv/oD683w
For your second question regarding upgrading your device software, you can upgrade it yourself when a new version is available. This article provides instructions. http://bbry.lv/jZAl36

  • Curve 9300: Middle sensor not working

    Hello all..
Quite a while ago the middle button on my curve 9300 started behaving tempermental, I would have to press it hard to get a response from it. Now it's stopped working completely! Is this a common flaw with blackberrys because i've heard it's happened to other people also. Advice greatly appreciated!

Yes this is a common problem. I have just had the exact same fault on my own 9300, the best solution is a replacement trackpad. I got one off eBay for £3.95 and fitted it myself, problem solved.

    Hi there cherylakashortee,
Out of curiosity, have you tried a battery pull yet? While the phone is on, simply remove the battery, for good measure, wait a full minute, then reinsert the battery and wait for the device to reboot.
Does that help? If not, let us know what operating system you're running on your phone. You can get this info under Options > Device > About Device Versions, or by typing "myver" in a text box (e.g. email or BBM).

  • Issues with BB Curve 9300

I am writing to complain about the deterioration in functionality of my Blackberry Curve 9300 over an unacceptably short period of time. I am a UK user and our service provider is T-Mobile. I have been in possession of the phone for a year, and my issues are detailed below.
    1. The phone often freezes whilst in the middle of a task, despite not being overloaded with already open applications, requiring me to reboot the phone by removing the battery.
    2. The battery no longer lasts any longer than 8 hours, despite the fact that I am not a heavy user of applications and do not use the phone for extensive multi-tasking. I have done all that I should to preserve the life of the battery, and I find such a rapid deterioration in battery-life completely unacceptable; it no longer lasts until the evening.
    3. The rubber covering on top of the phone has completely deteriorated to the point of breaking away entirely, leaving the phone incredibly difficult to lock and unlock. I have not done anything to cause such a deterioration except use the button to lock and unlock the phone.
    4. The trackpad often scrolls up without any contact from myself, making the composition of coherent messages almost completely impossible and intensely frustrating. I have not dropped the phone or caused any scratches to the trackpad that would demonstrate that this is my fault, thus I can only assume that the trackpad is faulty.
    5. Often the keyboard will input characters that are accented or completely unrecognisable, again making message composition an incredibly frustrating task. I am not sure what has happened to the phone to cause such a keyboard malfunction, but I believe something to be faulty.
I am very careful with my phone, I have not dropped it once in the year that I have been in possession of it and I am never careless with the phone. Given the extensive problems I have with the product, as detailed above, I can only assume that these issues similar to issues that I know other Blackberry users have suffered. I have approached T-Mobile about the problems above but was told that these issues were RIM's concern. Any help that you can provide me with in furthering this complaint would be much appreciated, as the phone is incredibly frustrating to use at this point in time.
    Many thanks.

I am also having issues with the phone! Since I updated my software 2 weeks ago my app world stopped working and now I cannot download it after deleting it. About a month ago when downloading mp3's it all of a sudden started having format issues even though the music is in the supported format. My photos that were taken with the camera turned to thumbnails that cannot be opened and that is why I decided to update the software in the first place. Since the new software update I now also have a java.lang.error when ever I reboot the phone. I'm frustrated! Anybody with tips as to how I can get these problems sorted please help! I have deleted all third party apps and the error persists.
    Hello,
You should probably do a clean OS reload
From a PC, you can install any compatible (e.g., for your exact BB Model Number) OS package to a BB via this procedure:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Device-Software/How-To-Reload-Your-Operating-Syste...
Note that while written for "reload" and the Storm, it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or reload any BB device model -- it all depends on the OS package you download and install to your PC. You can even use a different carriers OS package by simply inserting, between steps 1 and 2, the deletion, on your PC, of a file named VENDOR.XML. Be sure that you remove, from your PC, any other BB device OS packages as having more than one installed to the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.
If you are on MAC, you are limited to only your carriers sanctioned OS packages...but can still use any levels that they currently sanction. See this procedure:
KB19915How to perform a clean reload of BlackBerry smartphone application software using BlackBerry Desktop Software
Good luck and let us know!

  • Curve 9300 scroll pad

Hi, when I use scroll pad it will not hold on subject but jumps back to top of page! O2 guru says "knackered" any help please.
    Thanks

    Hey bryan-b,
Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
    Thanks for the question.
I would suggest changing the sensitivity options for the track pad on the BlackBerry® Curve™ 9300 smartphone: Go to Options>Typing and Language>Trackpad Sensitivity.  Once the sensitivity is changed, test it to make sure the issue is resolved.
If the issue still persists follow the steps in this KB article to fix the trackpad: www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB29640
Let me know if you have any more questions.
    Cheers.
