Hi and Welcome to the Community!
The first thing you should do is contact your mobile service provider...perhaps they have done something to block this from functioning on your device.

  • N97 access point options

Is it possible to set my n97 so that whenever it is in the range of my home wireless network it uses that for access instead of 3G network?  e.g. for when it checks email or uses facebook etc?  I was reading about the access groups in the manual but it didn't seem to want to do what I was trying to achieve.

you need to ensure that each of the widgets or applications are set to use "internet" group as the means of connection, if this is the group where you have set all your access points.
I have a further question petrib in relation the Messaging built in application.  I have managed to get MfE working and it correctly uses the "Internet" group to access packet data, and correctly switches between my wifi and 3G conections.  Excellent!
BUT in default messaging where I have added my gmail account there is no option to select "Internet" under Access Point in Use.  The only available options are "Default connection", my home wifi name or my 3G internet connection.  If I select default connection, then my gmail account will only try to connect to wifi and not switch to 3G when out of range.
Why can't I select the Internet group for my default email account but I can for my MfE account? grrrrrr

  • Activate Access Point Options 5530

    Hi
I bought a 5530 a few weeks ago. When I use it at home, I connect it to my wireless connection. When I am outside I use my sim connection. Previously, the device gave me an option of how to connect when I tried to download email (available wifi networks vs sim GPRS). I recently had to delete and set up my email again, and now, the device automatically connects to the sim. I didn't relaise this and so far it's cost a fortune!
Is there any way that it is possible to reactivate choosing connections? I thought perhaps the access point offered something like "Always Ask" but it doesn't.
    Can anyone help?

    Go to Menu>Internet>Web>Options>Settings>General>Access Point>Always ask

  • Curve 9320 problem accessing media

I have several image and music files on my BlackBerry and have regularly made use of each (I have had this BlackBerry for just shy of 2 months), using my windows laptop to transfer the files via the USB cable.
Today, however, when I plugged in the USB cable and went into the BlackBerry's folder on my laptop, all the subfolders appeared only as shortcuts (although they still worked fine) and after disconnecting, my BlackBerry seems entirely unable to locate anything I have saved on there. I even tried taking a new photo and the device immediately "lost" it.
    What do I do?

    Hi GJV90
Go to "options" click on "device" then "storage" check if media card support is ticked or not, if it is not, click on it and save

  • Curve 9320 lost contacts

Hi , Any suggestions for retrieving contacts to the contacts icon, they are still in the phone somewhere, but clicking on the contacts link just says no contacts. Anyone help.
    Cheers Slix

Ok, so you haven't lost them.
Do this, open your FaceBook > Options > UNcheck the integrate Facebook with your contacts.
Now, reboot:  With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot.
Once you're back running, check your Address Book again.
    anything?

  • Access point selection

    Hi guys,
I have a unsigned midlet installed in nokia 6600. This midlet opens an http connection and it asks for permission before connecting. I understand this can be solved if I sign my midlet with a trusted certificate. But phone also asks to select Access Point. I want it to be automatic. Will this problem be solved if I sign my midlet? If not what else I should do? I don't find any default access point option in the phone. Please help me.
    Thanks
    jmguy

think the addition of the "destinations" support in S60 wasn't thought out well enough in terms of compatability either.
There's multiple 3rd party applications that create virtual access points for VPN connections or to better support connection roaming, that appear to existing applications as just another access point, yet when this capability was added into the OS it was done in such a way that existing apps could not use it.
    #fail IMO.

  • Canon 70D, Wifi access point with Android

I bought a Canon 70D this week and I cannot get the Wifi access point option to work with my Nexus 7 2013 or my Samsung Galaxy S3. I was able to connect my 70D to my Wifi network and see the device that way. But when on the road you won't always have access to a local LAN. When I try the access point mode both devices never see the 70D.
I rebooted both Android devices after installing the EOS app.  I also get the camera in access point mode first and then launch the EOS app.  I let the app sit for several minutes and never finds the 70D.
    Any tips?

    Hi gquiring!
    Thanks for posting.
When you go through the setup process on the camera, are you selecting [Easy Connection] ot [Manual Connection]?  If using [Manual Connection], try using the [Easy Connection] instead.
When prompted by the camera to connect to it with your smartphone, do you see the SSID of the camera show up in the list of networks you can connect to on your smartphone?

  • When using EA6400 as an access point only, certain features lost

I've set up my EA6400 and have it connected to my Verizon MW424WR(Gigabit) and it works fine as an access point and the Twonky Server uses the USB drive I have attached to the router's USB port. Problems:
1)I can not use the linksyssmartwifi link for management, I have to use the IP(set for 192.168.1.50) for this. When trying to register/login, the Linksys end is trying to find a Linksys router but can not and will not allow any action.
2)Although Twonky will use the attached HD, I can not share the device over the home (Windows) network. I've tried various incantations of the IP \\192.168.1.50\(whatever share name I can think of) with no avail.
3)Using the Linksys admin, the Device List is incomplete. Devices connected wirelessly  such as my iPod, Roku, Sony Media Player and WD HD TV Live do not show as wirelessly connected and do not have an IP listed.
4)Is there any point in using the Media Prioritization settings since no routing is done by an access point. Or will it actually prioritize the wireless connection.
BTW, the Verizon router can not be set in bridge mode so I have to use the router as an access point to accomplish what I wish.
    TIA,
    Randy

Some applications and router features require the use of the WAN port. If the router is set up for LAN to LAN AP mode only, then those features won't work in this mode. Only Router mode.
If the ISP modem has a built in router, it's best to bridge the modem. Having 2 routers on the same line can cause connection problems: Link>http://www.practicallynetworked.com/networking/fixing_double_nat.htm and http://computer.howstuffworks.com/nat.htm If the modem can't be bridged then see if the modem has a DMZ option and input the IP address the router gets from the modem and put that into the modems DMZ. Then connect the router in router mode using the WAN port to the ISP modem, then features and apps should work.

    Hello Sushu
    Welcome to BlackBerry Support Forums
If you want to access most BlackBerry Application over your Mobile Network then a  normal 3G data plan will not allow us, for that you have to activate BIS / BlackBerry Data Plan from our Carrier . However currently many application may work over a WiFi network .
So if you want to use those applications over your Carrier Network then call Vodafone and activate BIS  on your account.

  • Access points lost and can't recreate them after E...

I foolishly took the latest upgrade to the E90 soft/firmware via the Nokia software updater.  Previously I was connecting to the internet & downloading e-mails into my mailbox via GPRS from my phone provider (Swisscom).
Following the upgrade, as well as some lesser problems (one application disappeared, calendar entries failed to restore from the backup to my PC) I found there are no access points at all.  I get "No Access Points Defined - Define One Using Connection Settings" when I open the browser.  In Tools/Settings/Connection/Access Points I get "No access points defined.  Define now?" and a screen with some connection settings that I can't complete.
I still have the Configuration Messages sent by Swisscom when I first put the PIN in the phone (it was bought PIN-free) that saved access point settings for GPRS and MMS.  If I try to re-save these settings I get "Settings already saved.  Save again anyway?" and on selecting "Yes", "Unable to save all settings.  2 settings saved" - all of which suggests that there are still access points in existence but I can't overwrite them.
The settings wizard is no good as it just seems to look at e-mail settings, which I don't think have changed.  I've looked on the Swisscom web site but not found anything helpful.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Update to my previous post: I just found that the solution was to restore factory settings (under Tools/Settings for the E90).  This has restored all of the old access points, and I was also able to re-save those from my phone provider so I have access to the internet & e-mails.
What confounded me slightly was that (contrary to several other posts I've seen on this forum) the software upgrade changed my Lock Code (which you need to restore Factory Settings) back to the old value of 12345 - I had changed this to another code.  After waiting the necessary 5 minutes I used the old code & it worked.
In general I agree - a lot of pain and aggravation for very little advantage in taking this upgrade, so I'd say DON'T.

  • Outlook 2003 Contacts Sync with Curve 9320

    Blackberry Curve 9320 | Blackberry Desktop Software (7.1 Bundle 1319) | Windows XP SP3 | Office 2003 SP3
Email stored in local pst file (no Exchange server)
I'm  trying to sync a specific Contacts folder from Outlook to the 9320. I do the following in the software:
    - Organizer
    - Tick Contacts
    - Configure…
    - Sync direction: One way to your device only
    - Contacts account: Microsoft Outlook
    - Configure… | Outlook Profile: MS Exchange Settings (Only option)
    - Advanced…
At this point I get a message box twice:
"WMS Idle: Rim.Desktop.exe - Unable To Locate Component
This application has failed to start because BJABLR32.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."
Advance Contact Settings still opens so I:
    - Folders tab
    - Select different contacts to sync
    - Add required mailbox
    - Change Default Folder
    - Close and Sync Organiser
    Then I get:
    "Synchronization Error
A program error occurred at line 1548 in .\OIAccess.cpp. Please report this error by sending a log to technical support."
It appears to try and transfer 3 items (there are 100+) but no contacts are transferred.
I have reinstalled Blackberry software but the error remains.
The missing file is part of Office 2003 SP3 but despite a reinstall of the Service Pack the file was not installed in ..\Windows\System32 where it belongs.
What should be my next step?

Are there any alternatives to importing contacts from Outlook?
