Curve 9360 continuously reboots and won't turn on

My blackberry battery died one afternoon and when i started to charge it, the reboot screen kept appearing followed by the red LED light before attempting to reboot again. i have tried installing the new software but it is still rebooting half way stopping, LED light comes on and the whole process continues. the bb is only 2 months old and hasnt been dropped or damaged in any way. any ideas? could the battery need replaced?

Hello again,
Unfortunately, you may have misunderstood my prior recommendation. While rare, it is completely possible for a "new" battery to be defective, and therefore not meet the "known good" condition that I had set. Further, from what you describe, you only did half of the tests I provided in that section...
But, if you believe that you have properly conducted that test, then the next things to try are rather drastic:
KB27956 How to recover a BlackBerry smartphone from any state
http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/What_to_do_next_if_Jl_Cmder_will_not_connect_and_wipe
KB10144 How to force the detection of the BlackBerry smartphone using Application Loader
Note that, in order to properly conduct these, a "known good" and fully charged battery is required.
Keep in mind, thought, that if the problem is the BB hardware itself, then no amount of Internet-distance diagnostics nor recommendations will really be of any use to you. Indeed, to properly diagnose if it is hardware requires in-hand evaluation by a qualified hardware technician.
Good luck!

  • HT201210 My ipad mini is stuck in a continues reboot and will not turn on or shut off. What can I do.

My Ipad mini was in the middle of an update for the Pintrest app when the upload froze. I tried shutting down the ipad and that seemed to cause it to go into a constant reboot. Now the ipad will not turn on or shut off. Only display the apple sign. Are the any self fix remedies out there to fix this?

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode
How to put iPod touch / iPhone into DFU mode « Karthik's scribblings
    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Curve has shut off and won't turn back on

I have a Curve 8310 that was in the middle of an update today and froze up.  Since that time, I can not get the device to turn on or off, and it is flashing a red light 2 times, then a pause.  I have purchased another device today, but would like to have the opportunity to transfer all of the informaion from the 8310 onto my Storm.  Does anybody know what the flashing light means, and is it possible to recover the information?  Thanks in advance!

My phone just did the same thing! I was using an app and all of a sudden it turned off. Now when you turn it back on its just a light colored screen but nothing else. I tried resetting mine but it didn't do anything

  • Blackberry Tour 9630 freezes while starting up and won't turn on

A few hours ago I uninstalled an app on my Tour, and was asked whether to reboot now or later to complete the process. So I selected to reboot now.  The phone turned off and while the white loading symbol was feeling up it all the sudden stopped a little more than halfway loaded.  So I removed the battery to try and start the process over and it continues to stop at the same point in loading process and won't turn on.  I have never connected my Blackberry to computer before.  Not sure what to do.  Any help would be greatly appreciated,  I really can't go without a phone this week end.

Same thing is happening to mine. They said update the software but it wont do it while rebooting. Geez, what to do. Need my phone badly as well.

My Iphone4 went dead and won't turn back on inspite of charging it for whole night. Any idea?

Try the suggestions in this Apple document -> Troubleshooting iPhone hardware
Will not turn on, or will not turn on unless connected to power
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions.   If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage.   If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check    if the Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) in the headset jack or dock connector is activated or there are signs of corrosion or debris. Learn more about LCIs.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least 15 minutes.
After at least 15 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has  charged for at least 20 minutes: See   "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
If something other than the Home screen or Low Battery screen appears on the display, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, try resetting it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter. To reset, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until either the Apple logo or the battery symbol appears.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Restore the iPhone.   Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
If that doesn't work, have a Genius take a look at it.

  • I turned my phone off and won't turn back on or do anything

I turned my phone off and won't turn back on or do anything

Plug in to a wall outlet and be sure it has some charge, then check http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3281 and if that doesn't help, a reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears, should take about 10-15 seconds, and if that doesn't work, visit an Apple store genius bar for testing by the techs.

  • My iphone 5c turned off and won't turn back on. What do I do?

My iphone 5c turned off and won't turn back on. What do I do?

Try resetting the device: Hold down the Home and Power buttons at the same time and continue to hold them down until the Apple appears (up to 30 seconds). If the Apple appears, the reset is in progress, and the Slide to Unlock screen will display shortly.
Make sure the battery is charged. If you think it may not be charged, then plug the device into the charger and try resetting after 5 minutes or so.

  • IPhone went dead and won't turn back on

My iPhone 5 was a refurbished phone that I received under warranty in November. However, it worked fine until last week when it started turning off at 50% and below (which is the same reason why I had to get this refurbished phone in the first place). But because it immediately turned back on, I thought nothing of it and ignored it. However, my phone went dead two days ago and won't turn back on. I've used two chargers that worked the day of, but it wouldn't charge with either of those and those wouldn't even connect my phone to my laptop. So, thinking and hoping it was both of the cords malfunctioning, I went out and bought another cord. My phone still won't turn on, Apple Support refuses to help in any way because my warranty out, and I'm lost.

Plug it in to a wall outlet so it has power, then do a reboot by holding both the power and home buttons until the apple logo appears, ignore the red slider if that appears.

  • My Ipad stopped working and won't turn back on.

My ipad stopped working suddenly and won't turn back on. What can I do to turn it back on?

Assuming that the battery isn't empty (and it can take up to 15 minutes of charging before it will respond), then have you tried a soft-reset to see if that gets it to boot up ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • My ipad just switched off and won't turn on again ?

My ipad just switched off and won't turn on again?

Have you tried forcing a reboot? Hold down the sleep and home keys for about 20 seconds. If you see a silver apple it's rebooting.

  • My ipad mini was overheat and won't turn on,

my ipad mini was overheat and won't turn on, i brought it on apple service center in trinoma, mall in manila philippines, i wish they replace it or repair it, they said it may take 2-3 weeks for me to know the findings, i've been using my ipad in 6 months, anyone here experienced this problem? thanks

If the reset doesn't work, you may have to force iPad into Recovery Mode:
    1. Turn off iPad. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, slide to turn off.
    2. Connect USB cable to computer; leave the other end alone
    3. Press and hold the Home button down and connect the docking end of cable to iPad
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect To iTune" screen
    5. Release the Home button
    6. Open iTune (make sure you have the newest version of iTune)
    7. You should see "iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode"
    8. Use iTune to restore iPad
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad

  • IPhone 4S Shut itself off and won't turn on

my iphone 4s has turned off and won't turn on.
it doesn't respond to the power button and won't respond to being plugged in.
the last time I used it was about an hour before I noticed it.
the last thing I did was put one photo on to my photostream.
it had been sitting in an air conditioning room, and on a desk during the whole hour or so I wasn't using it.
anyone have any ideas what might be wrong with it?
i am 100% sure I'll have to take it to a store to figure it out unless it suddenly works.. but any ideas would be helpful....

My 4s did the same thing yesterday. I locked the screen, then about ten minutes later I went to use it and nothing would work. Like the phone was completely dead. I tried everything, plugging it in, reboot, nothing at all worked. Then about five minutes later I hit the lock button again and the apple logo appeared and it started rebooting. Not sure what happened!!
