Curves tool dictates the limits

Wonderful to have a very competent Curves tool in vs 3. But why oh why, do Apple feel they have to dictate to us, what we can do with it?
If you try to push a point a long way to the left, it suddenly disappears. There is no way to really mess around with extremes of contrast.
I suppose it behaves this way, because someone at Apple decided that most people don't know how to use curves ... 'so we'll give them curves but not let them mess them up, by limiting what they can do'. Infuriating.
Trying to move the points using the numbers, returns a dialog message :
"Warning
The point was moved to xxxx so that it would not be too close to other points on the curve."
What??
Anyone know of a way to change this behaviour?

Change the edge type from feathered to anti-aliased in the
    Property
    inspector.

If you change your tool to the "Direct Selection Tool" (A) then you should be able to adjust the area for you to type in...

  • Which of the Versions from Adobe elements has a gradations curve tool.  PSE 10, 12, 13 or which one ?

    Dear community,
which of the Versions from Adobe elements has a gradations curve tool.  PSE 10, 12, 13 or which one ?
    Your comment will be appreciated.

    Yeah right ,
gradients tools are present in all these version
and curves are not present in any of these officially .
Curves are present with their own interface.
One big problem is that you'll never find them logically where they are : under the menu 'Enhance/color correstion', it's the 'adjust color curves' option.
Add to that problem the fact that this kind of adjustment is not about colours (no R,G,B channels) and you'll see why it is missed by everybody.
The interface is meant to help beginners understand how curves work : you choose the effect you want and you see the curve being drawn. Excellent for pedagogy but users of the traditionnal curves manipulations don't understand the new way.
If you want the old curves interface, you can add many free or affordable add-ons like Elements+. The most powerful and free one is the smartcurve plugin for Windows 32 bits.
    Other ideas:
    - if you don't use curves for colour correction, you can use the gradient tool adjustment layer (black to white) in luminosity mode. That's how you deal with curves in adjustment layers. Note that using gradient maps instead of curves is only a graphical way to determine the inflexion points. Same parameters, different inferface.
    - Using curves intensively was the way to edit ten years ago. Now, you can use the ACR basic tag to achieve quickly much better tone and colour correction, that way you won't need curves most of the time.

  • How Do I make curved lines with the pen tool in after effects CS6

Hello, so I have been following this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vKzB-CFT0MI on how to make 2d intros in after effects and at the 2:20 mark he shows how he uses the pen tool to make curved lines around the elipse. I tried to do the samething myself, and couldent make the curved lines. I looked it up online and there were tutorials on how to make curved lines but they did not work the same way, and I could not make curves like he did.So if any of you know how to do curved lines like in the video, your help will be appreciated.
    Thanks !

This is basic stuff and it's basically the same way Illustrator or Photoshop works with bezier paths. You'll find a lot of helpful information if you just type masking or mask in the Search After Effects Help field at the top right corner of the app.
    Adobe - Search: masking
Directly from the Help Files: After Effects Help | Creating shapes and masks
Mylenium.. sorry you thought it was an awful tutorial. I made it in under a minute just to show this member the very basic task of creating a mask with the pen tool and animating the shape. I'll try and up the quality of my quick replies to simple operations.

  • Where is the ( curve ) option in the adjustment panel ,in photoshop elements 9

where is the ( curve ) option in the adjustment panel ,in photoshop element 9 , I cant seem to find the curve option ...

Irritatingly, it doesn't exist. You need to go to Enhance>Adjust Color>Adjust Color Curves for the PSE version of curves. You can add an adjustment layer with something like elements+ from simplephotoshop.com or grant's tools (http://www.elementsvillage.com/forums/showthread.php?t=51319), but it will still be limited to the combined RGB channel. If you use windows there's also the free easy filter smartcurve plug-in:

  • What are the limitations of Java, what cannot be done with Java?

Hello.I want to ask, is there anything which cannot be done with Java related to computer programming ,does Java have limitations?

    BIJ001 wrote:
You need a JVM to run Java applications.Usually yes but nothing prevents you from writing a compiler to compile Java sources right into native code.@Everyone: Sorry folks, I meant to say "Never say unequivocally that something cannot be done. Time will more than likely prove you wrong."... which I think you all got the gist off, despite what I actually said.
@BIJ: Hmmm yep, so that sort-of brings writing a device driver in the Java language into the realms of practicality, except you'd still have to work-around the fact that Java is by design a device/OS idependant language, so one suspects that you'd probably end-up using to JNI to call a large and complex library of assembler (or something) functions, which actually do the work... hence you'd probably be better of in assembler, C, or indeed any "native" language, or combination thereof.
Java excels at writing "large and complex business systems". Java pretty much sucks at writing "low-level CS stuff", which C (and assembler) both excel at... Hence some knowledge of both helps you pick the tool for the task, and create "complementary" layers of abstraction in your application, which (the theory goes) make it robust and flexible.
I do think that it's interesting that Java excels in exactly the places where C is/was "undercooked".... I do sometimes wonder if that was by design; like the language designers intended them to be complementary tools or something.
    Cheers. Keith.

  • What is the limitations of an Openhub

    Hi
When we use openhub what is the limitations.
Is there any limitations of an Openhib
    shankar

    Hi BI,
The Open Hub service enables you to distribute data from an SAP BW system into external data marts, analytical applications, and other applications. With this, you can ensure controlled distribution using several systems. The central object for the export of data is the InfoSpoke. Using this, you can define the object from which the data comes and into which target it is transferred.
No real technical limitation if you are looking for bulk transfers
You may have to manipulate a datamodel to suit the scenario as the OLAP processor is not used
SO if you have complex requirements you may have to create a query to APD into a DSO then open hib from there
And naturally if APD starts to have memory problems then you use the infoprovider read function module to do have an ABAP to read data then into a DSO and open hub out
I dont really use open hub off standard cubes as there is always a OLAP requirement in the extraction fo data
Naturally if you require just to dump raw data out then you could open hub of the cubes - but in that instance your global IT architects may ask why you are dumping data to a third party tool where they could come in on OLAP BAPIs etc at run time to access BW ie extra front ends
The functionality will work with extraction to a database table.
    In BW 3.5:
The assignment of Open Hub Destination and InfoSpoke is an one to one relationship. One InfoSpoke
should not be used in more then one process chain. For the extraction, the database table must
contain the technical key. This option must be set.
An InfoSpoke should be a used at most in one process chain.
    In NW2004s:
It is possible to assign one Open Hub Destionation to more then one DTP.
One DTP can be a process step of more then one process chain.
In the runtime only one request can be loaded into the Open Hub Destination. The next load can
started, if the status of this request is set to u2018Greenu2019.by the 3rd party application.

  • What are the limitations of ODI?

ODI is an E-L-T tool of its first kind and has good performance when copared to ETL because of its architecture.
BUt what are the limitations of ODI?
And What are the strong points to recommand ODI to the clients?

what are the limitations of ODI ::
    (i) it won't support multi target We cant say it wont support. We can achieve this using IKM mTI or using some logic in a single interface. But directly you can't drag multiple table into interface (target canvas)
(ii) Interfaces are depending on KM so to implement any new logic we need to know about Jython Not exactly. But yes if you know jython it is more helpful for this. Discussed

  • What r the limitations of ST01

    hi guys
what r the limitations of ST01?
    thank u

    Hi Sunny,
ST01 is used as Authorization Trace. Authorization Object S_ADMI_FCD gives access to the trace function
You can analyze authorizations as follows: Choose Tools -> Administration ->  Monitor -> Traces ->  SAP System Trace or Transaction ST01.
Choose trace component Authorization check and pushbutton Trace on. The trace is automatically written to the hard disk.
To limit the trace function to your own sessions, choose Edit -> Filter -> Shared. Enter your user ID in field Trace for user only in the displayed dialog box.
Once the analysis is completed, choose Trace off.
To display the results of the analysis, choose Goto -> Files/Analysis or the pushbutton File listSelect the required file and choose Analyze.
The results of the authorization check are displayed in the following format: <Authorization object>:<Field>=<Tested value>
The return code shows whether or not the authorization code was successful.
    ST01 Return Code 0 -
    Authorization check passed
    1 -
      No Authorization
    2 -
Too many parameters for authorization check
    3 -
Object not contained in  user buffer
    4 -
No profile contained in user buffer
    6 -
      Authorization check incorrect
    7,8,9 -
    Invalid user buffer
    Hope it helps.
Please awatd points if it is useful.

  • Animating road to a curved road, leaving the already animated road visible (correct, esp at the road turn)

I want to animate several roads, coming up from bottom of screen then fill a motion path and then end with an arrow head.  I want a few going to the left at different degrees, and to the right as well one that goes straight...with the roads overlapping somewhat at the base, but spread out as the animation completes.
The issue I am running into is at the point the road (created in illustrator), the entire image of road rotates, and I am not able to anchor the image at the bottom, then fill the motion path with new road to complete the animation.  Can someone advise as to the best method of going about creating an animated road, and how to incorporate curves while maintaining the already loaded road on the screen?  I really appreciate it.

I am wondering if changing the origin would help. Select the image and then the transform tool in the file menu. You will then see the handles and the origin so you can change it by dragging it a the desirer place.

  • I have some how lost my basic and curve tools... How do I recover them?

I have lost my basic editing tools and curve tool. How do I recover them in Lightroom 5?

When you did the Cmd-click, did it bring up a little list of all the different sections and allow you to add/remove checkmarks? Somehow we are not communicating very well, and that's probably because I don't know anything at all about Mac computers.

  • ADOBE PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS 7 Color Curves Tool problum

When I click on the color curves tool it locks up at the top of the screen and almost fills the whole screen. There is no place at the top to grab it and pull it down because the top of it is hidden above the screen. Also it only shows thumbnail size pictures that can not be enlarged. I increased my screen resolution to 1280x800 and Photoshop decreases in size and the color curves tool decreases but the name of the tool and the close button at the top are still hidden and the color curves tool screen still can not be moved... Is this something I can fix or is this a software problem? I downloaded this trial version then upgraded it to a full version. I am using Windows Vista on a Sony Vaio laptop. William in Michigan.
