Custimizing the Warranty of external services.

Hi
Have you an idea on Custimizing the Warranty of external services in SAP-PM ?
Thanks in advance.

Hi
Use the material with serial no, which creates a Equipment. In equipment maintain the warranty...
You can use warranty counters also...
Check it out

  • Error in the procurement of external services

    Hello friends,
I was doing the procurement for external services from maintenance order as was suggested, but in one of the steps in iw31
when we give the control key PM03 and then go to the operations tab, and go to external services, there it gives an error message that"GL <> account does not exist. please check your input", after entering the service no. up till this point i have not defined any GL account at any place.
Can anyone please help me with the config. part to check at which all place where account could be maintained.
    regards,
    and thanks in advance

    Hi Naveen,
actually i ddnt checke dthe cost in the cost tab,
but for the normal maintenance orders the components cost is getting derived from the components, but not the activity cost, because in our place all the maintenace activities have bin out-sourced. and they are paid on hourly basis. which is done by the MM people via external services.
though this is also the procurement of external services, but it is for the repair of a particular equipment............
and as far as costing is concerned, i already went into the given path but cldnt get much in that, that is i was not able to understand the terminology there, may be FI  guys can understand..........................but this is all different i guess, my issue is where that accnt is maintained which is getting popped up in the IW31 at the time of making order for procurement of external services..............
hope it further clarifies my problem.......................

  • Set up the connection to External Service Desk

    Hi!
I use SAP Solution Manager SPS 15 and would like to get familiar with the integration of External Service Desk. Regarding this I have the following questions:
    - Does some Open Source NON-SAP Service Desk tool/system exist?
    - What are the steps to integrate such one to my Solution Manager?
    Thank you very much!
    regards

    Hey Thom,
There are several Non SAP Service Desk that exists in the market...
These are  Peregrine, magic , HP openview, BMC Remedy and so on....
Just Google out for more info regarding the same....
More info about connecting external systems can be found out at..

  • Event GR Posted is denied for the DBM Order - External service procurement

    Dear Experts,
We are facing the below mentioned issue while trying to perform goods receipt for external service procurement.
Error - "Event GR Posted is denied for the DBM Order  -------XXX"
The error message is raised when the tracking number is maintained in the Purchase order of External servce,
If we remove the Tracking order (DBM Job order number) from Purchase order and then perform Goods receipt (MIGO) then the error does not exists.
Request you to help us with suggestion.
    Regards,
    T.R.S,Praveen

    Hi Sachin,
Thank you for your valuable feedback.
Requirement Tracking number in Purchase order item screen. Field name - BEDNR.
Please note that the job order number is not manually updated by us. It is automatically updating in PO line item through Purchase requisition details as per standard behavior.
If we perform goods receipt then we are getting error message as "Event GR Posted is denied for the DBM Order  -------XXX".
Goods receipt is working properly if we remove the Job order number in tracking order field in PO.
    Regards,
    T.R.S.Praveen

  • Changing print format for the Shop papers -External service operations

    Hi Friends ,
We want print outs for the external service operations in our PM orders .
The standard format available with shop papers is displayed with some extra info .
We want to remove those info and add some extra info .
Can we change the printing format for these and how much effort it rquires .
    Regards
    AM

    Hi,
In OIDF, define the Shop Paper specially designed for External Service Operations.
In Order, in Print option, go to Operation Selection, select the required operation & select the print layout which is designed for External Service, so that, you can get the print out according to additional fields requirements.
    regards,
    Maheswaran.

  • HT1349 Does the warranty cover external damage?

I've had my Iphone for less than a week and I have just dropped it and the screen has smashed.
    Does the warranty cover it?

If you purchased AppleCare+ coverage when you purchased your iPhone, your accidental damage would be covered for the cost of the "deductable" ($49 in the US). If you did not purchase AppleCare+, then as Kappy said you will have to pay for replacement.

  • Business Objects, external services and application services in CAs

    Hi All,
right now we are developing our first eSOA Composite Application with CE and I have some questions regarding Business Objects, the import of external services and the development of application services.
As I understood there are two ways to provide business functionality for composite applications:
    a. Import backend functionality as an external service (e.g. BAPI, RFC) at the CAF, build the application service which can be used as a callable object for UIs or the GPs
    b. Develop a local Business Object (in CAF) providing the business logic, create the application service which again can be used as a callable object. Furthermore the application service can be exposed as a Web Service (external service).
    My questions:
    1. When is it appropriate to to import external services in stead of developing local BOs?
    2. Under what conditions is it advisable to (solely) develop local BOs?
    3. What are the advantages / disadvantages regarding the reusability of the services (in option a and b)?
Note: We are developing on NetWeaver 2004s.
Please let me know, if you need more information to answer the questions!
Thanks for your advice in advance,
    Regards,
    Ivonne

    Hi Ivonne,
first of all, the CAF Business Objects (BOs) itself don't contain any business logic, they're basically just local database tables (with some CRUD services on top).
Business logic is implemented in Application Services (AS).
Now, regarding local BO's vs. external services, it depends on your use case. If the data is already available somewhere in your backend system it makes sense to use external services. For instance you wouldn't want to store business partners all over different composites. For data that is specific to your composite (in particular configuration, customizing etc.) and not likely to be reused by other applications you should use local BOs.
Accessing local BO's is also much faster than calling external services.
You can do reuse in both scenarios, since the CAF services can be exposed as web services.

    Christian

  • Call external service in a Application service created from ES

    Hi Experts
    I have the follow situation:
I've modeled a new service in Enterprise Service Builder. This service i'll implement in caf application. In the method create by application i'll call one method of external service.
I imported this modeled service in Create Web Service Provider option in external package, select the Enterprise Service Repository source option and choice the respective Service Interface.
In this moment the caf created a new application service, with methods of modeled service. That's all right.
Now i import a external service of esworkplace. All the step are ok. But the problem is going to next step.
I need to call this imported service in the method of application service. I know 3 way to do this:
    1. Mapping the external service with this application service. In this case i have a problem - the method of external service is expose as web service, and i don't want this. Just the method of modeled service must be expose.
    2. Create another application service, map the external service with this application service, and create a depency between this application service and the application service created by modeled service. I think this work fine and resolve the problem of expose the method of external service. However i think this isn't a good way to do.
    3. Instantiate the service class of exernal service. From this class i can call the method of external service in application service. But now i have another problem. If i see the implementation of this class, it have a static block which call a URL class, and pass as parameter a wsdl file located in one directory of my computer like
    url = new java.net.URL("file:/D:/SAP7110Workspace.jdi/LocalDevelopment/CRVP/demo.sap.com//ejbmodule/
    _comp/tmp/0/EJB/src/META-INF/xml/ext/rootwsdl_WorkCentreSimpleByPlantQueryResponse_InService.wsdl");
when execute the application in the server it don't find this file and i give one error.
I think the best way to do is the 3° way. But why did the caf generate the URL with My computer directory instead of in directory of application? There are some solution to this problem?
I've change this line manualy, but all the time when i generate the project, i need change this code again.
    Regards
    Marcos

    Hi,
You may consume external service via JNDI
    Context context = new InitialContext();
    <JNDI OBJECT> local = (<CAST JNDI OBJECT>)context.lookup("<JNDI OBJECT>");
    //Call the method
If you are using CE 7.11, go to NWA -> Problem Management -> JNDI browser  > ..... -> ObjectName for <JNDI OBJECT>

  • Inspection lot for external service

    Hi Gajesh/ Sujit/shyamal/ all
we are planning to use service master for external vendor's service, i have couple of questions
please share your experience, if anyone of you come across this kind of requirement
    1. is it possible to create an inspection lot for external service?
    2. we want to capture / validate the vendor's external service, weather it is accepted or not? sometime we need to enter quantitative value also
    3. is there any setting or config for assign /create inspection lot for service master?
what I know is without material master we cannot create inspection lot but i don't know about service master.
    thanks
    Sami

    Gajesh,
    thanks for quick response.
2 business req. are as follows
    1.  vendror is performing periodic service, MM side external service order (service contract/PO)created, bsaed on thatPO vendors performing service.
service entry sheet they are capturing man hours and date of service.
business wants quality of service to be captured in QM inspectiion lot.
    2. production order ---> routing -- operation ---> vendor & service PO number  assigned external work --> now inspetion lot will be created for that material/production order.
how can we link service master, service entry sheet and inspection lot?
how to map for this req.?
again is't possible to create inspection lot for service master?(without material master)if your answer is yes, then where/how can we assign inspection type ? which inspection type?
    thanks
    Sami

  • External service with notification

    hi experts,
i am creating notification through maintenance plance , but in some cases customer give AMC so in that case how is the senerio for external service(i am not create order i want solution with out order ) , how can i create pr automatic of through notification, integrat service sheet with notification for further invoice to party
    thanks,
    utkarsh

    Hi Utkarsh,
SAP suggests two types of procurement process via Maintenance Plan.
    1. Standard process: Maint.Plan -> Maint.Order -> PR -> PO -> SES
    2. Accelerated process: a. Maint.Plan -> Maint.Order -> PR -> SES
                                        b. Maint.Plan -> PR -> SES
                                        c. Maint.Plan -> SES
you need to have appropriate Maintenance Plan Category(with defined number range in the system) while creating the maintenance plan.
As you said it is Annual Maintenance Contract with vendor/service provider, you can create a Frame work order for that and can post your SES against it whenever vendor perform maintenance service.
I guess you can make use of ME58 transaction for posting SES against FO, please check I am not quite sure about this.
Please let me know if it meets your requirement.
    Thanks,
    Regards,
    Sudharsan

  • Problem: Field not a member of external service

    Hello,
using the NWCE 7.1 SP 5 and the corresponding NWDS I have successfully imported an external RFC "/EDC/GET_IT_MAT_WF" into my composite application. For the imported RFC I have created an application service and mapped it to the RFC. Another application service relies on the mapped application service and is exported as a web service which in turn is used by a Visual Composer model. Everything worked fine.
Now, I have added another parameter "SONDER" to the RFC in the R/3. In my composite application I have deleted the previously imported RFC and the mapped application service and created them from scratch.
However, when invoking the newly added mapped application service I get an exception which reads:
Field SONDER not a member of /EDC/GET_IT_MAT_WF.
Firstly, I have checked the RFC and tested it in the R/3 using the ABAP Workbench.
Secondly, I have checked the newly imported external service and the mapped application service. Both do contain the field "SONDER".
Thirdly, I have undeployed the entire composite application, cleaned it in the NWDS, regenerated, rebuilded, and finally redeployed it.
    However, the exception still remains.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks and best regards
    Alexander

    Hi Yasar,
thank you very much. That helped. Should have come to my mind on my own.
Hopefully, SAP fixes those caching issues, as the current situation is not acceptable in a production scenario. You just cannot keep on restarting the whole server each time a composite application changes.
    Best regards

  • External services & external processing

    Hi All,
What is the difference between External services & external processing of an operation.
    Regards,
    Manish

    Hi Manish,
External Processing: Processing a particular operation in a set of operations of an order externally ie by using a vendor.
External Servicing: External servicing is used in Maintenance of Machines.
In both the above same control key setting is being used.
    Hope it clears your doubts.
    Regards

  • I bought an IPAD air from state and the screen is not working correctly and right now i'm in Egypt ,can i send my ipad to service in Egypt and the warranty will work in Egypt or what?

i bought an IPAD air (32 gb wifi only) from USA just one month ago and the screen is not working correctly(picture attached) and right now i'm in Egypt ,can i send my ipad to service in Egypt and the warranty will work in Egypt or what?

Have you tried a soft-reset to see if that fixes it ? You might be able to get warranty service in Egypt for your iPad, but the warranty includes :
IMPORTANT RESTRICTION FOR iPHONE AND iPAD SERVICE.
Apple may restrict warranty service for iPhone and iPad to the country where Apple or its Authorized Distributors originally sold the device.
As it's wifi-only you should have a better chance of it being serviced under warranty, but there are no guarantees, it might depend upon the repairer.
Egypt authorised service providers : https://locate.apple.com/eg/en/

  • I would like to know why i have to pay a service fee even if my IPOD 4 gen is within the warranty period

My Ipod touch screen get White there fore i brought it to the premium retailer where i bought it. after 15 days with no anwser of the retailer, i moved to the shop to have more information. they told me that my ipod could not be repaire and i had to pay a service fee even if it was on warrenty. why should i pay for something on warrenty and for something that could not be repair.

Apple never repairs your iPod, they replace it with a refurbished one at no charge if the product fails on its own.  But the warranty only covers manufacturing defects, if your white screen was caused by abuse such as dropping it or getting it wet, the warranty does not apply.   If that is not the case call them at 1-800-APL-CARE (if in the US) and discuss it with them.

    Hi,
