Custom 403 http-error page

Hi,
one of our http-server-listener is running with ssl-client-certificate-required. If the client doesn't send its certificate to the server, we get a message:
"Forbidden
Your client is not allowed to access the requested object."
How can we customize this error message? We use AppServer 8.1
regards Jonathan

You have to either modify appserver's "config/default-web.xml" or your web application's "web.xml".
Here is an example:
<error-page>
<error-code>403</error-code>
<location>/myapp/403.html</location>
</error-page>

  • How do I create custom HTTP Error Pages for a Weblogic Server

I need to be able to display custom HTTP error pages such as a 404 from my Weblogic
Server when my web application is not deployed.
    Is this possible?
I have seen some suggestions about putting something like:
    <error-page>
    <error-code>404</error-code>
    <location>Error404.jsp</location>
    </error-page>
in the web.xml for my web application but I can't see how that would work since
the web application would not be deployed. I need to set these messages at the
    server level.
    Any help would be appreciated!

Your CategoryAxis id="ha_ccm" uses categoryField="period", and this is the label for the your series (i.e. "Quarter 4/2010"). You cannot have multiple categoryFields for the CategoryAxis; it can only use one data field for the labels. You can use data tips and/or label functions to show the individual series' values on the columns.
    Also:
Your labelField in the ColumnSeries are set to a ColumnSet name instead of a field name in your dataprovider.
Font must be embedded if you set ColumnChart.showLabelVertically="true".

  • Custom Portal Runtime Error Page

    Hi All,
Where can we define a custom portal runtime error page. I would like to replace the standard red color error message that comes whenever the servlet container gets an uncaught exception.
Is this something that I can put in the web.xml of the /irj application.
    I appreciate your help.
    Thanks in Advance,
    Ankur

    Hi Ankur,
The exception handling is in the connection area of the request cycle (see portal developer guide for a description of request cycle).
The connection handles the exception and sends the request to a specific component (a core component) to display the red screen.
    In short:
The name of the error component is hard-coded, and cannot be configured.
The component itself is a core component, and should not be changed.
And the connection is also something that is not public.
So the answer is it cannot be done.

  • X509 Cert Authentication Scheme - 403 HTTP Error

The user is been thrown a 403 HTTP error as part of this configuration to support X509certs.
Environment is OAM 10g running on Sun One Web Server6.1 and Solaris 2.8 O/S.
Any pointers on troubleshooting this issue ?
    Thanks in advance.

This generally points to a certificate trust or certificate revocation issue. I have a bunch of questions that might point you in the right direction.
1 - Does the web server trust the CA that issued certs to the clients?
2 - Does the user certificate have a CRL Distribution Point?
2a - If so, can the web server follow this CDP to ensure the user cert is not revoked?
3 - Is the user cert revoked?
4 - Does the server cert have a CRL Distribution Point?
4a - If so, can the user browser's follow this CDP to ensure the server cert is not revoked?
5 - Do the clients trust the CA that issued the cert to the web server (not likely a cause)?
6 - Does this happen to all users or just one? (if it only happens with one user then that user's cert is likely revoked).
FYI - this isn't a OAM issue really, it's a mutual SSL client / server authentication issue between your web server and your browser. You should also check the web server docs, these may point you in the right direction.

  • Custom 404 error page only works 75% of the time

I have made custom HTTP error pages for my app and they work for Mozilla, Opera and Firefox but IE seems to have its own personal 404 error page.
Anyone know how to make IE work and play well with others and display the custom 404 page like the other 3 browsers do? I did clear the IE cache, twice.
The environment is Tomcat 5.0.19 (stand-alone, no IIS) running on Window Server 2003 Enterprise
    Thanks for your help!
    Will

You got to love microsoft products huh. Microsoft has turned on its friendly error pages. Unfortunately, to fix this, you have to have your clients modified their browser settings. Inside the IE browser, do the following:
    1. From menu choose tools->internet options
    2. Choose the advanced tab
    3. Uncheck the checkbox that says "Show friendly HTTP error messages"
That will do it for ya.

  • Changing default 'insufficient privileges'  error page

Is it possible to modify the portal page that is presented to a user when they attempt to access a page without logging in.
    For example a user
    a) may save the URL of a portal form as a favourite
    b) logout
    c) at a later date use the favourite to access the portal form.
Currently if a user does this the default Oracle error page is displayed, which is very user friendly.
    Alternatively is it possible:
    a) to redirect the user to the login page whenever
they access a portal form that they don't have
    access to.
    b) to hide the URL of any forms from the user so
that they cannot save them as favourites
    Thanks in advance.

    Alternatively is it possible:
    a) to redirect the user to the login page whenever
they access a portal form that they don't have
access to.No - this automatically happens. If a user bookmarks a page that has authorization checks on it, then trying to access the area automatically
redirects them to signon at the SSO server. After they signon, control is returned to the bookmarked page. They will then see it if they have
access, or will see the error page if they don't. Taking them back to the SSO server does no good here since they are already
properly logged on. They just don't have access to the page they tried to get to.
    b) to hide the URL of any forms from the user so
that they cannot save them as favouritesWhat do you mean by hide the URLs? A user can type in a URL to his bookmarks, whether or not the URL is ever presented to him on some
page. Also, he may have access one day, and be revoked access the next. The authorization checks are there to ensure that
unauthorized access is not granted, regardless of how the URL to the area is obtained.
I've logged a bug to investigate the feasibility of customizing the standard error page. In the meantime, that page is what will get
    shown in these circumstances.
    Thanks in advance.

  • HTTP Error 403 - Customized Error Page Display Issue

    Hi,
I have included 403 in <error-code> in my web.xml and defined proper security constraints. But when I try to access my JSPs directly on Mozilla I see my error page but I try in Internet, I can't see the same page.
    Can someone help me?

Best solution would be to let the error page invoke a redirect to self (or another error page) when the HTTP status code is 403, so that it becomes 200 (or anything in range of 200-399) so that IE won't be triggered to display friendly error pages. Best solution would be to let the error page invoke a redirect to self (or another error page) when the HTTP status code is 403You want to say that I should define a error page in my JSP where, when its called, I need to handle the 403 error. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I have defined *403 error code in my web.xml*.

  • Getting HTTP 403/500 errors when accessing SharePoint 2010 pages

    Hi,
I'm getting intermittent HTTP 403/500 errors when accessing SharePoint Foundation 2010 pages.
When it happens, any SharePoint pages I access I get a HTTP 403 error (example: /sites/test/default.aspx) . If I don't specify a page, I get a HTTP 500 error (example: /sites/test/). What's odd is that I have non-SharePoint .NET applications running on the
same server under the "_layouts" directory and those still work just fine.
After recycling the IIS application pool, it starts to work again, but sometime won't stay up very long.
Does anyone encounter this problem before?
    TIA
Also, I'm hoping to understand what the "Microsoft.SharePoint.Library.SPRequest.GetFileAndMetaInfo" method does to help me track down this issue. If you have any info on what the above method is doing, I really appreciated.

    Hi All -
We have a situation where one of different reports pages gets included inside a main reports page based on user selection via a selectOneChoice control.

    # This is the main Apache HTTP server configuration file. It contains the
    # configuration directives that give the server its instructions.
    # See <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.4/> for detailed information.
    # In particular, see
    # <URL:http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.4/mod/directives.html>
    # for a discussion of each configuration directive.
    # Do NOT simply read the instructions in here without understanding
    # what they do. They're here only as hints or reminders. If you are unsure
    # consult the online docs. You have been warned.
    # Configuration and logfile names: If the filenames you specify for many
    # of the server's control files begin with "/" (or "drive:/" for Win32), the
    # server will use that explicit path. If the filenames do *not* begin
    # with "/", the value of ServerRoot is prepended -- so "logs/access_log"
    # with ServerRoot set to "/usr/local/apache2" will be interpreted by the
    # server as "/usr/local/apache2/logs/access_log", whereas "/logs/access_log"
    # will be interpreted as '/logs/access_log'.
    # ServerRoot: The top of the directory tree under which the server's
    # configuration, error, and log files are kept.
    # Do not add a slash at the end of the directory path. If you point
    # ServerRoot at a non-local disk, be sure to specify a local disk on the
    # Mutex directive, if file-based mutexes are used. If you wish to share the
    # same ServerRoot for multiple httpd daemons, you will need to change at
    # least PidFile.
    ServerRoot "/etc/httpd"
    # Mutex: Allows you to set the mutex mechanism and mutex file directory
    # for individual mutexes, or change the global defaults
    # Uncomment and change the directory if mutexes are file-based and the default
    # mutex file directory is not on a local disk or is not appropriate for some
    # other reason.
    # Mutex default:/run/httpd
    # Listen: Allows you to bind Apache to specific IP addresses and/or
    # ports, instead of the default. See also the <VirtualHost>
    # directive.
    # Change this to Listen on specific IP addresses as shown below to
    # prevent Apache from glomming onto all bound IP addresses.
    #Listen 12.34.56.78:80
    Listen 80

Also keep in mind that I've installed owncloud using the source downloaded from the website. I previously installed using the pacman, but wanted to configure it to be under a sub directory and not as my web root.

  • HTTP Error 403.16 - Forbidden, Your client certificate is either not trusted or is invalid.

    Dear Experts,
I have tried mutual authentication with sample website as per below link:
    http://itq.nl/testing-with-client-certificate-authentication-in-a-development-environment-on-iis-8-5/#comment-19427
    1. Created a Root certificate, client and server certificate based on this root certificate by using Makecert command as per below link:
    2. Import these certificates in Trusted Root Certification authority of both the stores (Local and Current user)
    3. Created a sample website with HTML page
4.Hosted this website in IIS with HTTPS binding and selected the above server certifcate
    5. Enabled "Require SSL" and selected "Require" under SSL settings of website
    6. Exported the client certificate in base64 format --> Edited in notepad --> made the key into single line
    7. Placed the above key under Configuration editor --> system.webServer/security/authentication/iisClientCertificateMappingAuthentication --> one to one mapping with user credentials.
    8. I tried to access the website
But, I ended with below error :(
    HTTP Error 403.16 - Forbidden
Your client certificate is either not trusted or is invalid.
    Detailed Error Information:
    Module    IIS Web Core

    Requested URL    https://localhost:443/
    Physical Path    E:\SampleRoot
    Logon Method    Not yet determined
    Logon User    Not yet determined
Could you please let me know what I missed here.
    Note:
    I am using windows8, IIS8.0.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    M. Prasad Reddy.

    Hi Prasad,
As per this case, I have been shared the corresponding details below
1.First of all, make sure that you import the certificate whether it belongs to Trusted RootCertification or not .
If that is the case ,Goto Microsoft Management Console (MMC), open the Certificates snap-in.
For instance, the certificate store that WCF is configured to retrieve X.509 certificates from, select the Trusted RootCertification Authoritiesfolder. Under the Trusted Root Certification Authorities folder, right-click the Certificatesfolder,
point to All Tasks, and then click Import.
2.you configured the server certificate as well, But check the client certificate whether have root certificate or not by following command?
    makecert -pe -n "CN=SSLClientAuthClient"
-eku 1.3.6.1.5.5.7.3.2 -is root -ir localmachine -in WebSSLTestRoot
-ss my -sr currentuser -len 2048
      3. Also check the Service Certificate whether its configured on the WCF Service side
4.Make sure that you followed all the steps are done correctly from your given referred link below
    http://itq.nl/testing-with-client-certificate-authentication-in-a-development-environment-on-iis-8-5/#comment-19427
5.Besides, please try to set the require SSL as ignore to see if you can access the website.
If the above details cannot able to resolve this issue, please post your config file here.

  • Why do Chatropolis entry pages give "403 Forbidden" error on all browsers?

I've been running Mac OS 10.4.11 successfully since it's release, and I normally have the following browsers installed & working: Safari 3.1.1 (my default/first choice), Safari 2.0.4, Firefox 2.0.0.14, and the PC version of Internet Explorer (6.0.2) which I can run in Windows 2000 under Virtual PC 7.0.2 emulation.
Suddenly, 2 days ago, for no reason at all, the ability of my Mac to access any of the chatroom entry pages on the chatropolis.com website stopped working. (Please be warned - BEFORE you visit chatropolis.com - that it primarily hosts ADULT chatrooms!). This is after many years of problem-free access to these pages, using my current Mac, and previous Macs.
I can still access the home page, the user list pages, etc., but trying to access the room entry pages for any chatroom at all gives a simple black page with white text, which reads:
    403 Forbidden
You are not authorized to access this resource.
The entry pages all take the form http://csX.chatropolis.com/enter/roomname
where "X" is the server number that the particular room is hosted on (normally "7" or "10") and "roomname" is the name of the chatroom that I'm trying to enter. For example, the URL of the room entry page for the room "Current Events" is http://cs10.chatropolis.com/enter/currentevents
I can access any page on the Chatropolis site that DOESN'T start http://csX.chatropolis.com/enter/....... but none of the pages that DO start this way!
This occurs whichever browser I use, and even occurs using the PC version of Internet Explorer 6.0.2 running under Virtual PC emulation!
I've tried all of the following to solve the problem, but nothing works:
I've tried deleting both Safari 3.1.1 & Safari 2.0.4, and then reinstalling Safari 3.1.1.
I've purged all the caches, cookies, browsing histories, etc. of all my browsers, both within the browsers themselves, and by using Intego Washing Machine 1.1 (which comes free with Intego NetBarrier 5). I do this purging regularly anyway.
I've restarted the Mac several times.
Using Disk Utility, I've repaired permissions on the boot HD several times. I've verified the boot HD, and no problems were found.
I've rebooted the Mac from my Alsoft DiskWarrior 4.0 CD and successfully run "Repair Disk Permissions" and "Check All Files & Folders" on all my hard drives, including the boot disk, and I've successfully rebuilt & replaced the directories on all the drives.
I've successfully accessed the pages in question using a friends Mac, who lives very nearby, and uses the same product (2 MB cable broadband internet connection) from the same ISP as me.
I've searched for all files on my Mac that have a modification date of 2 days ago, and deleted any that are in any way relevant to web browsers.
I've emailed the owner of Chatropolis (Michael Ludwick) and asked for his help. He thought that maybe I'd installed some software prior to the problem arising, but this isn't the case. He also dismissed my theory that my ISP might be blocking access for some reason. On the day I first emailed him (Sunday), he told me that there had been over 700,000 successful logins, and that I was the only person to contact technical support that day saying that I couldn't gain access. He tells me that "The error page actually resides on your machine so the src isn't important" even though the colour scheme of the error page matches every other error page on Chatropolis!
I now suspect that the problem lies in the part of the Mac OS which is activated when certain types of pages on the internet are accessed, whichever browser makes the call - some deep part of the OS that is normally invisible to the user, and has to function normally for certain types of internet access to take place.
All non-entry pages on Chatropolis work perfectly, as do all other websites, as does sending & receiving email.
Everything is bang up-to-date with Software Update. Nothing was installed or removed prior to the problem occurring.
If anyone has any suggestions, I'd be very grateful. I'm no UNIX geek, but I've been using the Mac OS since the System 6 days, and I know my way around it pretty well. I'd rather venture into the dark abyss that is Terminal and perform some sort of command line fix than have to reinstall the entire OS!
I've read many times over the years that Mac OS X performs housekeeping/janatorial tasks "overnight" from time to time, but I never leave my Mac on overnight. It's shutdown & restarted at least once a day. Is there perhaps one of these "housekeeping" tasks that has never been performed, and that should be, that might solve the problem? If so, how do I force these tasks to be performed immediately, to see if that helps?
Many thanks in advance for any constructive input!

Reinstalling Safari 3.1.1 appears to have recreated a fresh copy of the WebKit.framework folder and all it's contents, in the correct place. Needless to say, as ever, this hasn't solved the problem...
Hmm. Wish I'd seen your posts earlier, I could have saved you some trouble. It's nothing on your machine. It's a problem at Chatropolis. I am able access a page on one of the two machines, the one at cs10.chatropolis.com. But the one at cs7.chatropolis.com, while the server is there, and can be pinged, sends back a "404 - not found" response.
No matter what the owner says, these errors are server errors on his end, and have nothing to do with any settings on your computer. He's simply mistaken when he says they are coming off your computer. It's possible that he's confused by how Internet Explorer on Windows can be set up so that it will give you an error page that looks a lot like the same error page you'll get from a Windows IIS server. Or he simply doesn't know the technical details.
But it doesn't look like he's running a Windows IIS server, either. According to the headers on his servers, they're running something called "IFCS", which a little digging shows to be something owned by his company.
