Hi,
java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver that error means it does not find the classes for microsoft jdbc in the classpath of the idm webapp.
copy the microsoft jdbc driver jar (e.g. sqljdbc.jar) to the WEB-INF/lib folder of your application servers webapp directory. for example:
/tomcat/webapps/idm/WEB-INF/lib

The bcp program executes successfully on a local instance of SQL Server. The error has nothing to do with BCP as such, but it is a connection problem. That is, for some reason you cannot connect to your instance from the VM. I would exect that you face a similar problem if you tried SSMS.
It could be a firewall issue, but prelogin suggests that you reach the instance. But possibly you don't come far enough for the login failure to be recorded. Possibly the instance is not configured to audit login failures.
The message you would see would be similar to

Possibly followed by a a line that details the message. The error number may be different.

Sqlcmd: Error: Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 10.0
Hi All .need help ..
When I am running this from cmd on my sql 2008 database server:
sqlcmd -U sa -S mymachinen_name\MSSQLSERVER , MSSQLSERVER is my instance name ,
I get prompt for password and after that I get this:
Password: HResult 0x57, Level 16, State 1
SQL Server Network Interfaces: Connection string is not valid [87].
Sqlcmd: Error: Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 10.0 : A network-related or in
stance-specific error has occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server
. Server is not found or not accessible. Check if instance name is correct and i
f SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. For more information see
SQL Server Books Online..
Sqlcmd: Error: Microsoft SQL Server Native Client 10.0 : Login timeout expired.
I have my sqserver browser service started and also I can login through managemnet studio with windows authentication.
Also found this :
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/905618 , but this is for MS Server 2005/2000.
Can you guys please help me.
RegardsHello,
Try the following commands from your computer and
from the local server:
SQLCMD -E -S mymachinen_name\MSSQLSERVER
SQLCMD -E -S mymachinen_name
Use SQL Server Management Studio and connect
to the SQL server with the SA account
and password. If this does not work,
your SA account is disabled or the SQL
server is configured for Windows authentication.
If MSSQLSERVER is the default instance
of your SQL Server, do not use it in your
command line SQLCMD
Check on your SQL server
remote connections are enabled
If you are using TCP / IP, add an inbound
TCP exception in the firewall of your SQL
server on port used by your SQL Server instance
+ an inbound UDP 1434
exception for the SQL Server Browser service

Hi Mahesh,
Have you install a version of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) that is earlier than SSIS 2014 installed on your computer? What's the detail version of your SQL Server Data Tool?
In addition, please help to collect clsid {33D831DE-5DCF-48F0-B431-4D327B9E785D} information in registry.

Data Committed instead of Rollback after Deadlock Error in SQL Server 2008 R2 (SP2)
We're having a strange issue which is occurring only with one Customer having SQL Server 2008 R2 (SP2).
Basically we have multiple threads uploading data and when an error occurs (like deadlock or any other error). The deadlock victim (process/transaction) is rolledback (from .NET). However the rollback command is not reaching SQL Server as it doesn't show
in the trace (through SQL Profiler).
To make things worse, not only the transaction is not being rolled back but the INSERTs executed before the error are being somehow committed, leaving the database in an inconsistent state.
This is only produced in one environment.
Any idea what the issue could be?All statements are executed with in a Transaction. Under the same scenario this code works perfectly fine for 1000s of customers. Only one customer has this issue.
You need to capture profiler to check transaction scope.

Crystal Report 2008 results "Password did not match error" in SQL Server Log
Hi,
I am trying to develop some crystal reports using Crystal Report 2008 SP4 to connect to SQL server 2008 through RDO (ODBC). My problem is that anytime Crystal Report is trying to establish a connection with SQL Server, first it tries to connect with the wrong password and results the following error message in SQL Server log:
Login failed for user 'peyman'. Reason: Password did not match that for the login provided. [CLIENT: 192.168.2.198]
The login name 'peyman' is the right one as I have quoted the same in setting up ODBC System DSN using "SQL Server Native Client 10". But somehow Crystal Report is taking its chance and trying to connect before prompting me for the password. After this error logged to SQL server side, I can see Crystal Report pops up the prompt to enter DSN password. After supplying password to this prompt, Crystal Report works fine and pulls the data and renders the report without having any more incorrect password error logged to SQL Server.
The attached file shows the step I am taking to regenerate the issue. I need this to be fixed as anytime uses any of these reports and tries to render it with crystal runtime engine the same error message raises in SQL Server side and logged in the log file.
Thanks,Hi Peyman,
This is the way it should work, In CR designer when you open the report it does nothing. As soon as you hit the Refresh button then CR tries to use the connection saved with the report. It assumes what is saved with the report is a valid server and connection info. CR simply tries to verify the server is still active.
If you don't want it to fail in CRD then before opening any report Click the File, Log on Database option and connect. Now when refreshing reports it won't log the failed.
In the SDK it does the same thing, it assumes the Server info is the same and does try to connect to verify the Server does exist. It only takes a few milli-seconds to do this
To stop this from happening set the log on info first then it won't log the attempt to connect, it's checking to see if Trusted is allowed.

Notice it doesn't try to connect first if I set the log on info first using code.
So nothing we can do to stop SQL server from logging this info. Check with the DBA, possibly they can "filter" out the application attempts to connect or change your work flow in the app.
If you have a Preview Button to view the report then simply add your Database log on info prompt there if Connectioninfo.Trusted is not true:
mainSecureDB = rpt.Database.Tables[tableIndex].LogOnInfo.ConnectionInfo.IntegratedSecurity;
if mainSecureDB = false then prompt the user for log on info and set accordingly, if it is true the it should not fail when it connects.
This is simply a matter of changing your App work flow...

One potential solutions is to use a custom SQL server JDBC driver instead of going through the ODBC bridge. This will minimize dependencies and should also improved performance. Hope this helps.

Team Foundation Error (TF246021) - SQL Server Error: 2601
Hello, we are using VS 2010 Premium and we are having difficulty queueing builds. We are right-clicking on the "Builds" node under our project and selecting "Queue New Build...". The Queue Build window appears, a valid build
controller is selected, and when we click the Queue button we receive the following error:
Microsoft Visual Studio
Team Foundation Error
TF246021: An error occurred while processing your request. Technical information (for administrator): SQL Server Error: 2601
If anyone can help us out with this it would be GREATLY appreciated :)Hi Bruce,
Thanks for your post.
You’re using TFS 2010 SP1?
Except this queue build definition issue, all other TFS features(source control, work item tracking…) work fine in your TFS Server?
If another user try to queue build definition from his client using VS, will receive the same error?
On your TFS Server machine, open SQL Server Management Studio and try connect to your TFS 2010’s SQL Server, ensure SQL Server can be connected successfully from TFS Server machine.
Additionally, you can execute TFS Power Tools BPA to scan the installation of your TFS 2010 Server.

I will very appriciate if someone can help me solve it. I was trying to set Full control for my account in Properties/Security of root folder and try again but error is still.
Many thanksHi Foreverduy,
Before you run SQL Server 2008 express setup, make sure that you have installed Windows installer 4.5 and.NET Framework 3.5 SP1 manually. For more information about the process, please refer to the article:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143506(v=sql.100).aspx. Moreover, please turn off all the third-party softwares which could prohibit the installation process.
According to your error message, the issue could be due to that your account has no rights to install SQL Server, or the corruption on the media.
Firstly, please ensure that your account has admin rights. Also make sure that you right-click the setup.exe and choose “Run as administrator” to complete the installation.
Secondly, please check if "msdbdata.mdf" file exists at d:\8268cd7b247d294de359c9\x86\setup\sql_engine_core_inst_msi\PFiles\SqlServr\MSSQL.X\MSSQL\Binn\Template. If it exists, please make sure that your account has read permission to the extracted
folder.
However, if the file doesn't exist in the extraction, the media could be corrupt. Please download the
media
again and check if the issue still occurs.
Regards,
Michelle Li -
I have tried installing SQL Server 2008 multiple times on my machine, and I always receive this error about 3/4 of the way through: '' is not a valid login or you do not have permission.
I have tried installing both SQL Server Express 2008 with Tools and SQL Server Express 2008 with Advanced Services, and they both fail the same way. I am trying to do a new stand-alone installation.
I'm running Windows XP Home Edition SP3.
Looking into the error, some forums say I have to install it from THE Administrator account, and not an account with administrator permissions; it also cannot be in Safe Mode, because then the Windows Installer won't work. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to login to the Administrator account. I can go to the home login screen, do ctrl+alt+del twice, and attempt to login to the Administrator account, but I receive this error: Unable to Log You on because of an Account Restriction.
Other forums say that in the Server Configuration section, all you have to do is provide the username and a strong password from an administrative account on the computer, and it doesn't have to be THE Administrator. Well, I did that, but for some reason it doesn't recognize my username and password, it says something like "The credentials you provided for the SQL Server Agent are invalid". BUT THOSE ARE THE CORRECT CREDENTIALS FOR MY ADMINISTRATIVE USER! So I'm forced to use one of the accounts without a password, like NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM. That's the only way I can get past this step.
Also, just FYI, on the next step, which is Database Engine Configuration, I am using Mixed Mode for the Security Mode. I AGAIN provide a password, and then add my current user (who IS an administrator on my machine!) to the SQL Server Administrators box.
But yet, it fails every single time.
This is pathetic and ridiculous. I must have tried to install this thing 15 times, that is not an exaggeration. I'm posting this on several other forums as well, maybe an MVP or Bill Gates himself can help me.
I have one of the log files from a failed installation. If someone would like to see it, I will post it.Papy Normand wrote:
Hello,

Have a nice day
PS : if you are talking about the Sql Server Agent Service, it is disabled for Sql Server Express. It is enabled only for the Workgroup/Standard/Dev and Entreprise Editions
Sorry, but I've tried the suggestion in that link, and it hasn't helped me.
For anyone wonder, the link is talking about the problem in Server Configuration where I enter my Windows user account and password (which is in the Administrative group), but it says the credentials are invalid. The link suggests that you need to either enter your Windows account (which I did, and it wouldn't let me go to the next step), or to use one of the built in accounts (which I also tried, but it gave me the " '' is not a valid login" error during the installation).
Any other ideas?
I haven't had any answers from any other forums either, so I'll just post my log file in case anyone wants to look at this:

I have a SQL Server Reporting Services report that has a textbox within a Report with variations of the following expression
=Sum(IiF(Fields!RegisterID.Value = 6000, 1, 0)
and
Iif(Fields!PointID.Value = 500, 1, 0)) / Sum(Iif(Fields!PointID.Value = 500, 1, 0))
I see the following error when I try to preview the report:
The Value expression for the text box ‘Textbox2’ uses an aggregate expression without a scope. A scope is required for all aggregates used outside of a data region unless the report contains exactly one dataset.
What am I missing in this this expression to make it run incorrectlyCan you include dataset name in your sum functions? e.g. Sum(IiF(Fields!RegisterID.Value = 6000, 1, 0)
and
Iif(Fields!PointID.Value = 500, 1, 0)) should include your dataset name as Sum(IiF(Fields!RegisterID.Value = 6000, 1, 0) and Iif(Fields!PointID.Value = 500, 1, 0),"datasetname")Like wise Sum(Iif(Fields!PointID.Value = 500, 1, 0)) should also have dataset name Sum(Iif(Fields!PointID.Value = 500, 1, 0),"datasetname")

To get all tsql errors in sql server arised on particular date
Hello all,
Is there any T-Sql Command in Sql Server to get the list of Errors Occurred , While Writing a Queries.
Like in server any thing if we get a error it will be stored in logs right (EG : Exec SP_ReadErrorLog ),Or going through SqlServer-Agent.
Example :
DECLARE @MoneyValue float = 999999999999.99
select CONVERT (varchar, CONVERT(Money,@MoneyValue ) ,1--)
O/P Error :
Msg 102, Level 15, State 1, Line 3
Incorrect syntax near '1'.
Do the above error can be stored in any log, If yes How can i retrieve the data..
Thanks in Advance......There's no standard table for that. If you want you need to implemented it yourself by means of error handling logic

I ran across this error starting on 6/4/2011 and have been unable to find the root of the problem. In our environment, we have a DPM 2010 server dedicated to backing up all our SQL envrionment (about 45 SQL Servers total). All of the SQL
environment is backing up fine except for a SQL Cluster Application. This particular SQL Instances is part of a 6 node failover cluster with 6 SQL Instances distributed amongst them. The other 5 SQL instances in the cluster are backing
up fine; only one instance is failing. The DPM Alerts section shows this error when attempting to do a SQL backup of one of the databases on this SQL instance:
Affected area: KEN-PROD-VDB001\POSREPL1\master
Occurred since: 6/11/2011 11:00:56 PM
Description: Recovery point creation jobs for SQL Server 2008 database KEN-PROD-VDB001\POSREPL1\master on SQL Server (POSREPL1) - Store Settings.ken-prod-cl004.aarons.aaronrents.com have been failing. The number of failed recovery point creation jobs =
4.
If the datasource protected is SharePoint, then click on the Error Details to view the list of databases for which recovery point creation failed. (ID 3114)
The DPM job failed for SQL Server 2008 database KEN-PROD-VDB001\POSREPL1\master on SQL Server (POSREPL1) - Store Settings.ken-prod-cl004.aarons.aaronrents.com because the SQL Server instance refused a connection to the protection agent. (ID 30172 Details:
Internal error code: 0x80990F85)
More information
Recommended action: This can happen if the SQL Server process is overloaded, or running short of memory. Please ensure that you are able to successfully run transactions against the SQL database in question and then retry the failed job.

I have checked the cluster node this particular SQL instance is running on using Perfmon and the machine is nowhere near capacity on CPU, memory, network, or Disk I/O. I have failed this SQL Application to another node in the cluster and
receive the same error (this other node has another clustered SQL application on it that is actively running as well as backing up fine). The only thing that I am aware of that has changed is that we installed SP2 for SQL 2008 about 2 weeks prior
to when the failures started to occur. However, we updated all six clustered SQL Instances at the same time and only this one is having this issue so I don't believe that caused the problem. We are running SQL 2008 SP2 (version 10.0.4000.0)
on all clustered instances along with DPM 2010 (version 3.0.7696.0) on this particular DPM server that has the issue.
One last thing, I have also noticed errors in the event log pertaining to the same SQL backups that are failing (but the time stamps are not concurrent with each backup attempt):

Any help would be greatly appreciated!Don't know if this helps or not, but I also noticed another peculiar issue that is derived from this problem. If I go to "Modify protection group", then expand the cluster, then expand all six nodes in the cluster, five of them show "All SQL Servers"
and allow me to expand the SQL Instance and show all databases; the one that is having a problem backing up, when I expand the node, doesn't even show that SQL exists on the node, when in fact, it does.
I would also like to add that the databases on this node that will not backup are running fine. They run hundreds of transactions daily so we know SQL itself is OK. Even though it is a busy SQL Server, there is plenty of available resources as
the SQL buffer and memory counters show the node is not under durress.
