Custom backup jobs dont run after OS upgrade from 2000 to 2003R2

Hey Everyone,
We upgraded our OS server from 2000 to 2003R2 and now when we try to run / create oracle suggested backups i cant even start the process i keep getting:
Connection to XXXXXas user XXXXX failed.
We have oracle 10.2.0.4 installed
Any ideas would be appreciated
thank you,
Kal

I can log into the database using SQLPLUS with no issues and the agent starts fine on the server. When i go to GRID Control and try to create a new oracle suggested back i use the local admin account and i get the error i mentioned before. I have added him to the log as a batch and log in as a service assignments however still i get the error.can you please describe once again, where you are trying to connect and what is the error message. if any logfiles then it would more helpful.
Thanks

Running Lightroom 6 on Windows machine (after having upgraded from LR5... If you're on Windows, check out a free program called Audacity--it's fantastic.  With Audacity the process of converting a 48.000 kHz to 44.100 kHz is as simply as opening, changing the sample rate, and then exporting again, as an MP3.

Anyone have problems getting Office 2004 to run after Lion upgrade?

For the rare few, such as myself, who have some Office 2004 or older documents that fail to translate well in Office 2011, another option is to run Office 2004 in Snow Leopard (with Rosetta) installed in Parallels:

  • After MAR upgrade from 4.0 - 7.0 login to ars_db fails

    Hi,
After MAR upgrade from 4.0 -> 7.0 login to ars_db fails with the message "inconsistent database structure". For me it is a bit weired to do the ars_db upgrade to 7.0 SP4 and then start the transport agent which is still in the 4.0 level but this is the way it is described in the upgrade guide in order to delete Blobs after MAR upgrade.
Is the guide here inconsistent? Don't we have to upgrade the tools and services first before deleting Blobs?
    Did anyone experience similar issues?
    Regards
    Whity

    Hello Whity
After upgrading the MAR,To upgrade the MRS Tools and Services follow the steps below:
    1. Stop and uninstall the 4.0 Transport Agent Service. Use the Transport Installer to
    uninstall the above services.
    2. If you are not able to uninstall the TA, uninstall the service manually using the following command sc delete [service name]
.Also check that there are no entry for that service at the registry location HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services.
    3. On your local copy of the Upgrade DVD open the folder Mobile_Client_Upgrade\UpgradePurposeOnly . If you upgrade from CRM 4.0 you have to run SETUP.exe. If you upgrade from a higher release you have to run UPGRADE.exe
    4. Install the Transport Service again after MRS tools and services are upgraded to 7.0 SP 04.
In your case, TA was not uninstalled pripr to the MRS tools and servcies upgrade.Hence you still see 4.0 TA. Please follow the above steps to solve the issue.
Please refer to the section 5.2.7 section of the upgrade guide document for more information.
    Regards

Not able to sort any grid after Tools upgrade from 8.49.10 to 8.50.07, also when I click on any prompt button the prompt values are displaying in a separate screen rather than displaying in a model window.

I have resolved it by applying stylesheets and clearing the cache.

  • Iweb doesn't see my old domains under 10.9 after the upgrade from 10.7 Please help

    Hi everybody,
iweb doesn't see my old domains under 10.9 after the upgrade from 10.7 Please help
It gives me an option to choose a domain but when I go to "sites" it doesn't recognize none of them.
    Thanks :-)

In Lion and Mountain Lion the Home/Library folder is now invisible. To make it permanently visible enter the following in the Terminal application window: chflags nohidden ~/Library and press the Return key - 10.7: Un-hide the User Library folder.
To open your domain file in Lion, Mountain Lion or Mavericks or to switch between multiple domain files Cyclosaurus has provided us with the following script that you can make into an Applescript application with Script Editor. Open Script Editor, copy and paste the script below into Script Editor's window and save as an application.
do shell script "/usr/bin/defaults write com.apple.iWeb iWebDefaultsDocumentPath -boolean no"delay 1
    tell application "iWeb" to activate
You can download an already compiled version with this link: iWeb Switch Domain.
Just launch the application, find and select the domain file in your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder that you want to open and it will open with iWeb. It modifies the iWeb preference file each time it's launched so one can switch between domain files.
WARNING: iWeb Switch Domain will overwrite an existing Domain.sites2 file if you select to create a new domain in the same folder.  So rename your domain files once they've been created to something other than the default name.

    Hi Stefan,
I have already raised an sap call with very high priority. Sap has also verified and given me a few commands to verify if there any data block corruptions by using the dbverify and export of database to null. The export log and the db verify log shows no error. all the database if fine without any data block corruptions. is it like if patchset is not done well then will be get these type of problems? But i can see the Opatch lsinventory log shows all the patchsets and the bugs covered as per the patchset we applied. here is the Opatch lsinventory logfile for your reference. finally sap told that it is due to fault memory chip. we also did a memory test to see is it really a fault memory chip. but the memory test shows no errors. what could be the error. please help!

  • My Lacie backup desk mounts/unmounts after I Upgraded to Lion?  Any ideas?

I just upgraded to Lion.  Now my Lacie Backup disk repeatedly mounts and unmount which means my Time Machine fails.  The Lacie software also no longer works.  This is a pretty old disk 6 years.  Not sure what I should do to troubleshoot the issue.

This could be the sign of a failing disk. What does Disk Utility > Repair Disk report?
I'd get rid of the LaCie software and get a good backup program like
    SuperDuper or CarbonCopy Cloner
Then, I'd reformat the disk, clone your system to it and see how it runs after that.
Also, if you're starting up with the disk connected, wait until your Mac starts up then power up the disk and "hot plug" it into your Mac port.

  • How to schedule batch jobs to run after another periodically?

    Hi good people,
I want to schedule batch jobs to run periodically one after another.
    Here is the problem:
I have scheduled JOB1 to run once a week and I scheduled JOB2 to run after that job (JOB1). The problem is that JOB2 runs only after the first time that JOB1 runs. The second time the JOB1 runs the JOB2 is not started. I presume that the reason for that is that JOB2 is tied to the job number for the JOB1, and since a new job (with the new number) is created every week, the JOB2 is only tied to the first instance of JOB1.
So does anyone have an idea how to get JOB2 to automatically run every week after JOB1? One idea is to use events, but that I'm hoping that there is a bit cleaner solution..
    Best Regards,
    Armin

    Hi
Try scheduling both JOB1 & JOB2 in a single job in steps.
First schedule JOB1 & then give JOB2 in steps.
Kindly check the following link to do job scheduling in steps:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_47x200/helpdata/en/c4/3a7ed1505211d189550000e829fbbd/frameset.htm
In the above help documentation, look for the topic <b>"job steps"</b> in

    hope it helps!

  • Standard background job is running after deleting a user also

    Hi Gurus,
in my production system environment i observed below thing.
1)Default standard background jobs were scheduled by earlier basis admin after some days he left and his id also deleted but still some jobs are running with his id and finishing also, how is it possible without having his ID in system?
    2) what is the standard procedure to schedule default standard bg jobs in SAP? either from sap* or DDIC or basis admin?
one more question regarding Audit logs:
1)can we activate audit log for selective ids and selective period?
2)if we activate audit log is there any performance issues will come?
    Thanks in advance
    Venkat

    Hello Venkat,
1)Default standard background jobs were scheduled by earlier basis admin after some days he left and his id also deleted but still some jobs are running with his id and finishing also, how is it possible without having his ID in system?
    - Please cross check whether multiple jobs are scheduled with that user in different time period. If that user is defined in step then only that job fails otherwise it runs without any issues.
    2) what is the standard procedure to schedule default standard bg jobs in SAP? either from sap* or DDIC or basis admin?
    - Please go through the note suggested by Juan. I recommend to schedule with DDIC or Basis Admin.
    Thanks,
    Siva Kumar

  • Retrospect automated jobs dont run

I have recently noticed that on one of my xserve (10.3.9 server) the automated Retrospect (6.0.204) jobs fail to automatically start at the scheduled time. I have a backup job to external FW 800 running at 12.01am and a backup job to tape at 04:00am. If I login to the server in the morning and run Retrospect application the "queued" jobs immediately start to kick in. Any ideas why this would happen?

Try to leave the machine logged in when Retrospect is supposed to run. Since it is an application it should require the user be logged in.

    Hi bestrongself,
Before you use a SQL Server Agent job to back up all database, I recommend you run the backup statement in query windows directly, and check if it can run well. I do a test by using the following statement,
    DECLARE @name VARCHAR(50) -- database name
DECLARE @path VARCHAR(256) -- path for backup files
    DECLARE @fileName VARCHAR(256) -- filename for backup
DECLARE @fileDate VARCHAR(20) -- used for file name
    -- specify database backup directory
    SET @path = 'C:\Backup\'
    -- specify filename format
    SELECT @fileDate = CONVERT(VARCHAR(20),GETDATE(),112)
    DECLARE db_cursor CURSOR FOR
    SELECT name
    FROM master.dbo.sysdatabases
WHERE name NOT IN ('master','model','msdb','tempdb') -- exclude these databases
    OPEN db_cursor
FETCH NEXT FROM db_cursor INTO @name
    WHILE @@FETCH_STATUS = 0
    BEGIN
    SET @fileName = @path + @name + '_' + @fileDate + '.BAK'
    BACKUP DATABASE @name TO DISK = @fileName
FETCH NEXT FROM db_cursor INTO @name
    END
    CLOSE db_cursor
    DEALLOCATE db_cursor
the script allow you to backup each database within your instance of SQL Server.
Your account  need to have read and right permission to the path file.
If the above script can run well directly, then you can create a job and put your backup statement inside of it. There is a similar detail about how to create a simple backup job in SQL Server. You can review it.
