Custom BIOS for MSI GT60 ONC

Hello there Svet I bought my laptop a few months ago and I noticed within a few days that it throttled quite a lot when put under heavy load. I thought that was quite odd for a gaming laptop of this calibre so I decided to try the 16F3EMS1_T16.rar from this link: https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=162629.0.
It worked brilliant until I encountered a new problem. The throttling was simply gone, but the laptop began to overheat quite fast and the GPU would hit the 90s degrees if I did not turn on the Cooler Booster in time. I know they foretold that the moddes EC would generate more heat, but I at least thought that my laptop would still automatically turn on the fan speed depending on the heat. It turns on 100% when I hit like 90c degrees, but I find that to be a little too late for that. It seems like the fan runs 40% until the laptop hits the 90c and then it speeds up to 100%.
So here is my question: Can you mod a newer version of the EC to include the OC and stop the throttling and make the fan kick in automatically?
Best regards, Mathias

Could you take your time to moddify one for me and what would the cost be? Atm my graphic card is laying at 61-64c when idle which is way too high if you ask me. Or am I wrong?
Best regards, Mathias

  • Custom BIOS for the GT60-0NC

I must admit I'm rather rusty to low-level modding at all, so if I'm being awfully unspecific, do not hesitate to ask and question me.
Using the E16F3IMS.10U BIOS ROM || [ msi(dot)com/service/download/bios-18654.html ], what is most important to me at the moment is to have a normal BIOS (full unlocked?) and being able to enable Intel-VT-x.
If you got extra time and it doesn't take to much effort or time, I'd also like to have the "full boot" image with the MSI logo replaced with a custom picture (where if it becomes applicable, just provide format, resolution, colour space, etc and I'll post a link to the image).
I'l donate to you once everything about my request has been cleared up and agreed upon.
Thanks on beforehand for taking time to help me (and the community); it is much appreciated.

    Hello,
Yes can offer you unlocked bios + intel rapid storage firmware update to the latest versions.
About VT-x, its should be already Enabled in the latest version, ie your current one.

Yep can be done as well.

  • Custom bios for msi GE620DX

Hi, can a custom bios be made for the GE620DX that can disable the "GPU Boost Technology" and force the use of the discrete nvidia GT635m instead? Also can it be modded to change the BLCK and voltages of i7-2670QM and allow changing the fan speeds? (I would like to undervolt/overclock).
    Thank you
    John

there are options to disable IGP and other kind of customizations,
however disable IGP will probably cause black screen because IGP is need to be able dedicated card to operate.

voltage no. BLCK eventually yes, but its not guaranteed that the option will works properly.
FAN speed no, as this is controlled by EC

  • Custom bios for MSI GE70 2OC

    Hello
    I have a MSI GE70 2OC with Windows 8.
My BIOS is E1757IMS.511 build 08/27/2013, EC Version is 1757EMS1 Ver. 5.06, build 07/30/2013.
I saw in another topic that in modified bios FAN behaviour can be changed? I really don't like that FAN is always on when on AC power.
What else can be changed or what hidden functions has my BIOS?
    TIA

  • Custom BIOS for GE60 2oc

    Hello!
I would like to request a custom bios for my laptop (MSI GE-60 2oc).
I have had problems with low CPU utilization after updating the embedded controller with official MSI firmware update. At the same time I was supposed to update the BIOS, but I couldn't, using the official driver found on MSI download center, since my system told me it's not the right version.
I wanted to try this new approach as a new bios might help, I figured. I can't find any downgrading for the embedded controller. Would a custom bios be good thing for me or am I doing this all wrong?
    Current bios: E16GCIMS.509
    EC firmware installed: 16GCEMS1.506
The BIOS update that did not work: E16GCIMS.611

I know got my current version of BIOS and EC by MSI support so I will experiment with them. Downgrading to EC v. 5.00 helped I think. I have started to meassure now and the thing is that my GPU seems to have a real low core clock. The GT750m is marketed as 967 mhz but GPU shark and 3DMark 11 shows that I have 405 mhz. When playing Starcraft 2 I get real low FPS considering the settings (25 fps while playing medium quality and 1080p res.) hard to find comparing stats on the net. When meassuring with 3Dmark 11 I get a 2800 score which is comparable to other machines like mine.

Seems like we'll have to wait for someone to tw33k the VGA BIOS for MSI's FX5900 series VGA card... Else I'll be stuck with my paperweights VGA cards now...
I want to see better results on my MSIs' FX5950U vs FX5900U vs FX5900 non-U... Till date, the best card I've o/c'ed is the FX5950U at 1.05GHz, FX5900U at 990MHz and FX5900 non-U at 950MHz...
Though it seems that the memory clock has the capability to o/c even more one after another but the 3D clock is still not more than 560MHz for all 3... and 3DMarks no big difference... Maybe due to my system's bottleneck problems also...

  • HELP! Needing BIOS for MSI RX3870-T2D512E not RX3870-T2D512E-OC

    Hi all,
Could someone please post the original BIOS for MSI RX3870-T2D512E (not overclocked)? I am having problems with my RX3870-T2D512E-OC and I need to underclock it to RX3870-T2D512E. The original BIOS is required so that Live Update would work.
    Thanks.

Do it with software or RMA the VGA if its proved that's VGA fault.

I have to report you about bugs in latest BIOS for MSI-6545 ver.1 (version BIOS 1.7).
After flashig BIOS I cannot change parameters "Shutdown temperatures", "Spread spectrum" and some others !!!
When I try to do it, my computer hangs.
I have CPU PIV-2.4-400-512 with memory 512MB Samsung original PC-800 ECC
(By the way, there was no problems with BIOS 1.5 and CPU Intel PIV-1.6)
    [email protected]

I have also noticed that the bios write protect control is missing.
I don't know the reason why it's been removed but if you want to protect your bios you can set the jumper (J16) on your motherboard.
If the jumper (J16) is shorted (Little plastic thing conecting both pins together) then the bios flash is locked and can't be updated.
If the jumper (J16) is not shorted (Little plastic thing removed) then the bios flash is unlocked.
Also can anyone tell me if two gameports are listed in the Device Manager after clearing cmos using bios 1.7.
Bios 1.5 is ok apart from the fact that i can't upgrade my processor to 2.6GHz as it only supports up to 2.2GHz so if i upgrade processor i won't be able to clear cmos because of the problem with the gameports.
I have tried everything to get rid of one of the gameports but nothing seems to work apart from going back to bios 1.5 which is no good because i wan't to upgrade my processor.
