Custom BPEL Workflow and Content DB

Hi,
I am trying to register my custom BPEL workflow and trying to run from ContentDB default site, I can see that request in my request report but I can not see that process in BPEL Console.
1) Is there any place I can see logs?
2) Any good documentation apart from B31268-02 Admin Guide?
It just opens my worklist application

Hi,
I am trying to invoke Custom BPEL Workflow from Contentdb.
I can see TaskActionHandler and DocumentReviewWorkflow instance created in BPEL using BPELConsole. This workflow is waiting for approval.
When I am login to worklist application I can not see task assign to me.
Also I can see from database that Messages not read by BPEL Process Manager.i.e I can see rows in IFS_BPEL_OUT_TABLE
After restarting BPEL P.M those data is still there.
How to resolve this?

This sounds like two separate issues with the 10.1.2.0.2 BPEL PM.
First, I had a problem with the BPEL process manager not consuming the AQ messages sitting in the IFSQUEUE. In order to consume the messages, I had to redeploy the BPEL process. This sounds like your first issue.
The second issue is the case sensitivity within the worklist application. There is a patch for this #4962149. The patch did not work entirely for our environment and I opened up a separate bug but there was never a fix supplied by the development group.

Help on Approval Workflow and content types

Hi
So here is my question hope you guys can help!
So i was setting up a workflow for a leave request form. Everything was fine and I had the Approve/Reject buttons at the bottom of the task EditForm. Now I copied the content types to a new one and changed the Optional settings (lets says title hidden %
completed hidden etc) and then I changed the Task content type too so as to allow for that new content type to take place. Then i relaunced the workflow everything worked nicely the form look the way I wanted it but then on the EditForm I didnt have the ebuttons
any more so I found it odd so I reset the content type to the original checked that everything was back in place (the hidden back to optional etc) and even on the original Workflow Task (Sharepoint2013) content type the buttons disapear now I have to manually
add to the completed column and change the drop down menu of the Task Outcome to approved or rejected to make the workflow spit out the results.
I was wondering what happened I do not understand it. I even deleted all the Task List and Lists associated witht the workflow re wrote the workflow and nothing... So i m a bit out of my depth.'
When I click on the Cutomized List Default Edit Form... I do get the form with the button but its not the same one I get with the Email Link or the Link and the actual List
Any pointers?

According to your description, my understanding is that the outcome buttons disappear after you change the Optional type column in Workflow Task(SharePoint 2013) content type.
For your issue , please make sure the Task Status and Task Outcome type columns are existing in the content type in order for the custom outcome buttons to appear.

BPEL workflow and ECM Workflow

I am wondering about a way to integrate BPEL workflow with ECM Workflow!!

It is possible.
At the oracle open world, there was a presentation about it.
At that presentation they used a component where you could define a BPEL process and by one little line of code,you could call that proccess from within a stellent workflow.
I don't know if that component will be released or where you can download it. If you wish, i could send you an e-mail with the component and the doc so you could try it out

OOTB Approval workflow and content approval

I have successfully utilized the OOTB Approval workflow to manage the content approval status for document libraries.
But when I attempt the same on a list (custom, links, announcements...etc)..... the approval goes through without a problem but the content approval status remains in "Pending" status.
Does the approval workflow NOT work for lists? (And only document libraries?)
I found this article that describes that the solution is to uncheck the "start this workflow when an item is changed":

...which is somewhat ridiculous and pretty much forces the user to have to initiate the workflow manually each time they change the item?
At any rate... I did what the article suggested and manually initiated the WF and the approval status still remains in pending mode.
Can someone help clarify this for me?

Please make sure that Publishing Approval Workflow feature is enabled in Site Collection Features. Otherwise their should be no issue.

Email form created in Acrobat 9, custom subject line and content

I'm revisiting a form I created about a year back, and I can't remember how I got a javascript to work.
What I want is for the user to click on an "Email" button, which will open their email program and create a new message, with the subject line filled out from one of the form fields, and then will have specified text in the body, as well as attaching the document and sending it to multiple email addresses.
I have a javascript that I thought worked, but I keep getting error messages on it when I try to test it out.
The script I'm currently trying to make work is:

How to use xPath to extract a element from a xml stringin BPEL workflow?

I have a xml string passed into the BPEL workflow, and I need to extract the value of "serviceOrderGuid" (see the xml string below), how I can use BPEL mapper to do this? I am using NetBeans 6.0/M10.

Assigning List Fields in a Custom Reusable Workflow

I am creating a custom Reusable Workflow and associating it with a Task List (base list) as well as another assigned Task List (associated).
I would like to assign the result of the "Assigned To" column to a "Workflow Variable" so that I can use this value for other Workflow operations as well.
However, I am having a hard time understanding how to perform lookups and assignments from lists in a Reusable Workflow. In List-based workflows, I know that I can simply use "Current Item" and that seems to address most needs, but I have
no idea how to tackle this functionality in an SharePoint 2013 Reusable Workflow.
I have attached a screenshot of value assignment from SharePoint Designer for your review. The result of this value assignment needs to be assigned to a workflow variable.
In my test workflow, the assignment of the field from the list never occurs (it is not logged in my Workflow History List), so I am sure something is wrong with the way I am using it.
Any direction and advice on how to accomplish this is greatly appreciated.

According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to know how to use the lookup and assignment from the reusable workflow.
We could not get the “Assigned To” column in the reusable workflow.
As when we select the current item or current list, there is no “Assigned to” column in the reusable workflow.
We can only get the value when the user assigned by the workflow not assigned by the UI.
If you wanted to get the “Assigned To”, you can use the list workflow to achieve it.
I created a simple reusable workflow using a “Assign a task” action, we can get the assigned user as the below lookup, you can have a look at it.

I m not able to find out the way " How to deploy Custom BPEL process using JSP." Suppose I m Designing my custom BPEL process , and I want to call process through JSP.
In order to call the BPEL process using JSP I may get the Reference from Oracle guide, But it is for Existing Example like Hello world, Order Booking.
But I am facing the problem in order to call the Custom BPEL process.
In case of Oracle Example it looks Simple but How to call Custom BPEL process using JSP.

Link Between OO Workflow and Dynpro

Hello Gurus,
I have got a requirement where in user could be able to add approvers from custom dynpro application after workflow is triggered and is not yet completed.
1) I planned to do it by having the workflow ID and add a new entry to multiline element(IT_APPROVALS) which holds the approvers list on which workflow is looping to get the approvals.
In BOR way, if we use FM SWW_WI_CREATE_VIA_EVENT we get workflow ID as an importing parameter. But In my case it is custom OO workflow and I could not have the workflow ID while triggering via CL_SWF_EVT_EVENT=>RAISE.
How could I get the workflow id of the workflow instance triggered?
Any help is greatly appreciated!

If you need to add new approver, once the workflow got triggered, you can use below way
1. get the top work item id using FM- SAPWAPIWORKITEMS*OBJECT by giving proper key
2. now, you can use FM- SAPWAPIWRITE*CONTAINER to change container values. Remeber, if you are using ECC, then this FM will add entry to the existing container, it will not over write it

How to build and use Oracle workflow with Content DB

do we have any documentation that assist us in developing and applying the Oracle workflow (Developed using the Oracle Workflow builder) to the contentDB folder.
Is there an alternative other than using the BPEL or oracle workflow builder for developing the workflows that work with Content DB.

From a custom workflow perspective, Content DB uses a loose coupling mechanism based on advanced queue messages to integrate workflow engines.
CDB has no specific BPEL code/support - but rather requires the workflow engine to be able to dequeue a message from the outbound queue (IFS_BPEL_OUT), and return an approve/reject response queue message on the inbound queue (IFS_BPEL_IN). As Oracle BPEL supports advanced queue tables, it can thus be leveraged from Content DB.
Hence, you can potentially use any workflow mechanism/tool you like, so long as that it is able to obtain a message from the outbound queue, and respond on the inbound queue.
As far as Oracle Worflow is concerned, we don't ship with any documentation/samples to describe/develop its workflow processes. Nor do we support replacing the out-of-box Oracle Workflows.

Trying to invoke a BPEL process from Content DB

Hi,
I am trying to initiate the start of a BPEL process by uploading a file to Content DB. I have followed the instructions from section 3 of the Oracle® Content Services Administrator's Guide.
I have "registered" my workflow with Content services, and have set the properties for the Content DB folder to use that registered workflow on upload.
It appears to configure without a problem, but when I upload a document to the folder mentioned above, a workflow instance is not started.
I have tested the simple workflow and I can initiate instances of it without problem.
One item in the documentation on which I am not clear is in the section titled "Registering Custom Workflows", item 6; it says: "Enter the Launch Event for the workflow. The event you provide must match the name of the corresponding Partner Link Correlation ID in Oracle BPEL Process Manager. The Launch Event cannot exceed 30 characters". What, exactly, does it mean by "Correlation ID"? Is this the name of the partner link (which by default is 'client'), the name of the recieve event (by default is 'initiate"), or something else?
Also a review of the BPEL and Content Node's logs doesn't show anything useful - nor do they indicate any errors.
There must be some configuration item I have missed, but I can't seem to find it.
