Custom category Hierarchy setting Deleted from dimension (0XAEWCCAT) i am unable to find the hierarchy option Data source administration in Production, all my category reports doesnu2019t show hierarchy. In RSRT the hierarchy is fine.
Any idea how do we get the setting back,
I know front end content transport from Dev will help, but we are working on some developments and donu2019t prefer transport at the moment.

If I look at the available parameters in the helpfile 2 things are strange in my opinion:
1)the parameter is called approvalstatusmsg, approval status was the V4 naming convention of the function, right now it is called workstatus, so it might be a V4 function. Never used it myself but maybe it is something not correctly migrated to v5.
2) Even if it is working in V5, which I don't know for sure, then it is strange that you only have variables for Categroy, time and entity, since you can setup the workstatus for more then these 3 dimensions in V5 which you would also like to have in a case you set it up for more then 3 dimensions. For example for if you want to use Category,time,Entity & Product dimension in the workstatus, you would also like to inform the people which product is updated, since only just category,time and entity won't say that much.
So I think you best check with support if this function is still usable in V5 or if it is an old function from V4. and if it is working in V5, how do you get the right parameters in the variables when you setup workstatus for other dimensions then just Category/time/Entity.
I would like to know the results!

How can I set "delete from hub and server" differently for each account?
I have 3 emails (2 shared, 1 personal).
the personal is a 'hotmail' account which has device set to 'sync email', 'push', and 'Use SSL'.
it will only sync one way (from desktop to device).
I cannot set the global setting on the device to "delete from Hub and server" without affecting all accounts.
I do not want to have to confirm delete on every item.
previous to the 10.3 update this was not an issue.
am i missing something? or is this another step backwards?The only other way would be to set it to prompt every time you get an email. Yeah, I know that defeats the purpose.. I guess in this aspect it is a step back

Hello All,
I need to compare my dimesnion to the fact tables that use this dimension and delete all the rows in the dimension with the Sks that are not being used on the fact tables.
I wrote a query to get all the Sks that are not being used. Now how can I feed the output of this query to the delete statement.
So i want to delete from dimension where Sk = result of the query.
Any ideas of a good way of doing this ?zooz -
This may help: Create a staging table that joins your fact table with your dimension or lookup table - thereby eliminating all values not in your fact table. Populate your dimension table(s) from the staging table. Truncate staging table.
We join to most of our fact tables early in our OWB mappings to solve this problem.

Hey rbrylawski, just wanted to let you know that my ipad email problems have been solved. Called Apple Sup in OZ, I'm in NZ. Daniel Barber was the support tech from heaven!! I was about to return the ipad but solving this issue reset my faith in phone support.....perhaps until I call a differnet companys phone support eh? Anyhow, for reference the fix is below. My accounts are all POP not IMAP, and the primary smtp server setting had defaulted to have SSL switched on and the port was set to 5XX (something, cant remember). Anyhow, SSL was switched off and the port was swithced to 25. VOILÀ!! Settings/Mail, contacts, calendars/My POP mail account/smtp/primary server/ >>> server on, no username and password, use SSL off, no authentication, Server Port 25 Thanks for having a crack at it. Re aggregation when a member is deleted from dimension
Hi All,
I am aware that deleting a member from a non-partitioned dimension of a cube will trigger a re-aggregation.
The behaviour I am seeing is that this re-aggregation takes as long as (slightly less) than a full initial solve. For e.g. a full initial solve takes around 30 minutes, whereas a re-aggregating the cube after a dimension member is removed takes roughly around 28 minutes. Re-aggregating the cube just after the second re-aggregation is then quick, around 2 minutes
The member that was removed from the dimension does not have any data associated with it in the cube, so was expecting the re aggregation to be quick as it does not affect any of the existing aggregated data.
Could someone explain this behaviour?
The cube is compressed and is partitioned by Time Dimension. I am on Oracle 11.2.0.2
ThanksThere certainly can be a performance difference between 'Fast Solve' and 'Complete'. When no dimension members are changed, the fast solve will usually be quicker because it engages incremental aggregation. But your situation is different because you are adding new members. In theory this should only impact the latest partition, but it does not due to some known bugs. Here are two that I believe are relevant to your case. Neither is publicly visible at this point.
BUG 12536825 - CHANGED RELATION WON'T RETURN THE RIGHT VALUE
Bug 11934210 - CC USES FULL BUILD INSTEAD OF INCREMENTAL WHEN RELATION CHANGED
The RELATION in both cases refers to the parent-child relationship in the dimension. When you add a new member to the dimension, this relation is changed. The effect of bug 12536825 is that partitions that are not really involved (because there is no data for the new member) are re-aggregated anyway. The effect of bug 11934210 is that these partitions can get fully reaggregated even no data has changed in that partition.
These bugs are not (as of writing) fixed in any public patch, but you may be able to get a one-off fix if this is seriously impacting your performance. I would open an SR describing the problem. You can refer to my name, the bugs above, and this post so that it will be properly forwarded. -
Merchandise category & hierarchy upload using LSMW???

I am trying to upload Merchandise category and hierarcy using LSMW (BAPI/IDOC method only).
For merhcandise category
I used message type W_WGRP and it is helping me in changing or reclassification of articles. But I am not able to create new merchandise category with this. I used structure E1BPE1WGR01 with "function" field with value "005, LSMW is working fine idocs are created successfully but no new Merc Cat is created.
When I used same structure with "function" field with value "009" I get error message "Class XXX does not exist or or is not valid on this date".
For Merchandise Catrgory Hierarchy
I used idoc CLSMAS but getting error message "Keyword missing for class XXX"
has anybody uploded entire hierarchy structure using LSMW ?Sorry to say, but your problem is not resolved.
In IS-Retail, a merchandise category must first be created as a class (CLSMAS) and then also as a merchandise category (W_WGRP). Yes, you must process two IDoc per merchandise category, and in that order.
To understand how to load data using LSMW, the best approach to watch what the system does naturally. In this case, use T-Code WGSE to send the merchandise category hierarchy via ALE from one system-client to another. For understanding, you needn't configure the entire ALE scenario, just the outbound portion. Then watch the outbound IDocs be created; there's your example!
For merchandise category hierarchy (including merchandise categories), there are four message types that will be sent: W_WGRP, CHRMAS, CLFMAS, and CLSMAS.
IDoc Serialization using message types (serialization groups) is used when several different message types are dependent on each other, as is the case here. For example, if a merchandise category is assigned to a merchandise category hierarchy level, the merchandise category hierarchy level must first exist. How you use LSMW and IDocs is informed by the sequence.
To understand the IDoc sequence for creating the merchandise category hierarchy (including merchandise categories), use T-Code BD44 to view the Serialization Group GRP_W_WGRP includes the 4 desired message types in sequence:
CHRMAS04 Distr. of Characteristics with Dependencies and Long Texts
CLFMAS02 Master object classification
CLSMAS04 Classes with Long Texts, Document Links, and E1UPSLINK
W_WGRP01 Distribution of material groups
CHRMAS04 is only relevant of Characteristics are being assigned to merchandise categories. Let us leave Characteristics aside for now.
Step 1: Create Merchandise Category Hierarchy Nodes
Step 2: Merchandise Categories - Create as a Class
Step 3: Merchandise Categories - Change as a Retail MC
Step 4: Merchandise Categories - Assign Category Hierarchy Nodes each other, and assign MC class to MCH node.
For this, use these messages:
Step 1: CLSMAS04
Step 2: CLSMAS04
Step 3: W_WGRP01
Step 4: CLFMAS02

Some messages not deleted from server after downloading
We have about 1,000 mail users, all of whom use Apple's Mail app to retrieve their mail using POP. We've seen users' mailboxes on the server where not all messages have been deleted after downloading, even though the user's app has been configured to delete messages immediately after downloading. The strange thing is, undeleted messages appear in large non-contiguous blocks of time. Like there will be 100 messages from January, then 250 from July, and so forth.
Has anyone seen this behavior? Can anyone help me a) understand why this is happening and b) how to fix it? Thanks in advance to whoever can help.Thanks- but I don't want the messages deleted when they are deleted from my Mac, I want them deleted when I download them. However, I just found the setting so I'm fine.

Purchased movie deleted from iPhone
A movie I purchased and saved on my iPhone is no longer on my iPhone after syncing to my MacMini. It's now located in iTunes on my MacMini, but how do I get it back to the iPhone, and how do I get it to remain on the iPhone? Why did it delete from the iPhone? Is there a way to sync (copy) ONLY the movie back to the iPhone without syncing everything else? De-selecting a category to sync results in a warning stating that all info in that category will be deleted from the iPhone. ??? I've owned and used a Mac of some sort since the Mac Classic days and this syncing thing is the most confusing process Apple has ever developed.
Did you try iTunes > File menu > Transfer purchases from...?

Can't access the "delete from server" option in AOL mail setting.
iPhone 4s, ios 5.1, Verizon customer. I have never had an issue until this phone. Any ideas why I can see the "delete from server" option, but I can't check it? It's really annoying to delete emails from my phone and then have to go back and delete from my computer.

If POP, there should be a setting in the account's setting that determines whether an email is deleted from the server when downloaded. If IMAP than deleting on the device should delete on the server and other devices/computers. A problem can occur if the other devices have already downloaded the same email that you are trying to delete. It may take some time for it to delete from other devices. And some providers have bugs in this process. My carrier is Verizon, but I never use their email service.

Problem in deleting the orders under Custom category.

I am facing some problem in deleting the Orders which were created under custom category. In fact we are creating Intransits under Standard category "EI" as well as Custom Category "ZP". I am able to modify the intransits created under "EI" but when I tried to change or delete the orders created under Category "ZP", I am getting a messag triggered by BAPI as " Order can not be changed". atleast I need to delete the order if change is not possible. I am using the BAPI "BAPI_SLSRVAPS_CREATEINTRANS" to create intransits under "EI" and i am using the same BAPI with BADI implementation to "SAPAPO_DM_PO_CHANGE" to create intransits under "ZP". Based on the condition I am changing the am changing the category from EI to ZP in the BADI.
I am able to change or delete the orders created under the EI but when I tried to change or delete the orders under ZP its giving me a message as Order can not be changed.
One more thing is If I go to Tcode /SAPAPO/RLCDEL trying to delete all the orders based on category. I am able to see all the orders under created under EI. If I tried to delete the orders based on Custom category ZI it is giving me the message as "No Orders exists in Live cache". But I am able to see the orders in tcode "SAPAPO/RRP3".
Can any one help me out in making this done. Please help me out in this.

Here what I found is I found the record in OM19 transaction in the object "/SAPAPO/OM_ORDER_EXT_STR". But the interesting is its giving me the GUID as blank . there is empty value in that field. where as the program "/SAPAPO/OM_DELETE_INCON_ORDERS" is asking for the "order GUID".
can you help me out in finding the order guid and deleting this order.

Can ODI journalising help to identify if any member deletes from hierarchy

I am applying journalizing to identify if there is any change in hierarchy.
I extract dimension hierarchy into a DB table on which journalizing is already applied.
If there is insert in the DB table (new member added), the ODI identifies it, any updates my target from this journalizing table.
Now, if i delete a member from my dimension and then extract this dimension members into DB table, it just enters data into table(overwriting the existing rows).It does not identify if any member has been deleted coz that member still exist in the DB table & does not get deleted from the table.
In this case how can we check if any member has been deleted from the hierarchy or not. Is there any other option to achieve thisI just looked at all the ddls' i have the following syntax for all MV's

How can we delete a dimension from the classic planning applications

I am trying to delete a dimension from the planning classic application but i am unable to find out the delete option to delete a dimension. I created the dimension from the Administration -->dimensions --> Add dimension.
If we want to delete a dimension how we can delete that dimension, I heard meta data is stored in the RDBMS so that why if we want delete dimension we need to delete in RDBMS so please tell me the location in RDBMS to delete dimension. i am using sql is RDBMS.
Thanks in advance......As John mentioned, it is not supported and advisiable to delete a dimension from Planning application. but yes you can take a chance with some risk if you need to do so.. this opertaion is tested in 9.2 but i never tried in EPM V11.

1. Open the Enterprise Manager for SQL server
2. Open the database that has your planning application
3. Open the table HSP_OBJECT
4. You need to find the row that has the dimension name you want to delete:
5. Take note of the OBJECT_ID in my example it is50051, don't delete it yet.
6. Open the table HSP_MEMBER
7. Find and delete any rows that have a MEMBER_ID equal to the OBJECT_ID from step 5.
8. Close the Table HSP_MEMBER
9. Open the table HSP_MRU_MEMBERS.
10. Find and delete any rows that have a DIM_ID equal to the OBJECT_ID from step 5.
11. Close the table HSP_MRU_MEMBERS.
12. Open the table HSP_DIMENSION
13. Find and delete any rows that have a DIM_ID equal to the OBJECT_ID from step 5.
14. Close the table HSP_DIMENSION
15. Also delete it's reference from the HSP_UNIQUE_NAMES table.
16. Delete the row in the HSP_OBJECT table that you found in step 4.
17. Close the HSP_OBJECT table.
18. Open Essbase Application Manager for the application and remove the dimension from the necessary Essbase outlines
19. Restart the application server.

step3. category set을 Backup합니다.
