Custom color-palette keeps becoming read-only and will not let me add new swatches
I need to make a custom colour palette for work that i can open on different adobe programs, share with others and add new swatches to as I go. I create a custom palette, save it a custom name but whenever I re-open it, it has become a read-only palette and I can no longer add custom swatches to it. How do I get around this problem if I need to keep adding colours to my custom palettes?

In case you need to keep swatches from the ASE:
create a new document
empty the swatches panel
add all the swatches from the ASE into that document's swatches panel
add new colors as swatches
from the swatches panel's menu select "save library"

USB FAT32 is read only and will not format

not really sure what is wrong with it, any one have any suggestions?

1. Open Disk Utility in your Utilities folder.
2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Apply button and wait until the process has completed.
4. Select the volume you just created (this is the sub-entry under the drive entry) from the left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
5. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Security button, check the button for Zero Data and click on OK to return to the Erase window.
6. Click on the Erase button. The format process can take up to several hours depending upon the drive size. -
I am in an endless loop on my other iMac computer. I happened upon a page where it said "phishing site ahead" and then a pop up comes on screen telling me to call a certain number and then I click okay and of course do not call and it will not let me out of this endless loop. Shut down computer, quit Safari, but when I reopen Safari it still takes me to that same page and will not let me out or use any menu items or toolbar items. Just the same little popup box telling me to call a certain number with an OK button and I can't go anywhere or do anything on Safari. What can I do?

So this is what I was talking about, and the small popup window plus the larger Window stating "Reported Phishing website ahead" will not go away and I cannot use Safari anymore even after I shut down my computer, disconnected it, and then signed on again and reopened Safari, it still takes me to that page and I cannot get out of it.

External hard drive becomes "read only" and won't let Time Machine back up
I have an external hard drive for back up, and it has been working fine until recently.
There is a version of 10.6.6 loaded on it also.
The back up will fail every few days. When I do some checking, the back up drive is "read only" but I am not able to switch it to read/write. I cannot repair it with Disk Utility as the repair buttons are grayed out.
I can run DiskWarrior and it will fix it, but it runs super slow and takes all the memory to do it. I can barely use my e mail while it's running.
Anyone know what's going on?System log says:
3/27/11 8:01:19 AM com.apple.backupd-auto[1559] Not starting scheduled Time Machine backup - time machine destination not resolvable.
It's read only because:
A: I cannot do repairs under Disk Utility, the buttons are grayed out.
B: I right click and "Get Info" and if I click on the lock icon, nothing happens.
C: The disk is not listed in the Time Machine backups.
I will try to take better notes the next time it happens and give you the exact messages.
There is another drive daisy chained to this external drive which holds my music. The music drive does not have a Mac OS installed on it and is only for storage. It works properly. -
My iCal will not allow me to add any new entries. I get an error message that says I encountered a critical error while saving to data base and directs me to te console whatever this is??? This just started after the first of the year?
My iCal worked fine on my MacBook Pro so I ran Chronosync between my MacBook Pro laptop and iMac, the problem seems to have disappeared. Both computers have a working iCal now and I have my fingers crossed that they will stay so!!!

My ipod touch is being read as just a simple camera and will not let me access it, how does one go about fixing this problem? My screen has recently cracked and i need to retrieve my music from it but cant do so when my computer is reading it as a camera and only showing me its pictures.

No one here can say specifically why. But you need to do what it says, contact iTunes Support. Click the Suppor tab above then the link under the Contact Us area and you'll be take to a page where you'll be guided appropriately.

This just started. When I close firefox it warns me that I am closing multiple tabs. and will not let me save them. the only option is cancel or OK. When I say OK and restart Firefox all my tabs are going:-( This happens every time now. I know how to get my old tabs back but every time I close Firefox it always warns me that I am closing multiple tabs.

RESOLVED!!! I logged on to my Straight Talk online account, and did a Tech Chat. They immediately gave me a direct phone number and a Reference PIN number and asked me to contact their iPhone specialty support. I called (of course the gentleman's accent was very difficult for me to understand, but managed with asking continually for clarity). He walked me through several tests, setting changes and had me get on my wifi to obtain the latest APN settings. None of his efforts worked ad it was obviously NOT my Straight Talk iPhone 5, 64GB CDMA (no SIM) - it was something with their setting on their end on my account. I was placed on hold a few times and he would come back on to have me try to get on Safari and even Google... after the 3rd on-hold, he returned and asked me to try to use my data again without the wifi turned on and BINGO it worked... I still do not have my wifi turned on and I'm still receiving texts from YESTERDAY too while I was away from wifi service. IF you come across this issue - please call Straight Talk and/or log on to your Straight Talk online account and talk to an online customer service representative and get their direct line phone number for iPhone support and have your Reference PIN number available. Wanted to load an app onto my wife's ipad. BUT, the program keeps saying I've already purchsaed it and will not let me purchase again. I've tried everything I can think of. Don't know how it happens. Have you signed in successfully with your Apple ID in App Store or iCloud? Is your iPad connected to network?
You should make sure that your iPad is connected to a stable network. And then you should type in the correct Apple ID password.
