Custom Colors Keep defaulting

Hi,
I am having a problem choosing a custom color for my calendars. This is only happening on one user. It works fine if I log on as another user. I've tried deleting the plist file, etc.
Here is an example of what is happening:
I create a new calendar, and I want it to be a bright green. I create the color in the spectrum and drag it to the little boxes below. I can see the color change in the info box, then as soon as I click off the spectrum or the crayons ... it defaults back to an olive green color. It's bizarre because any other user on my computer works fine.
I appreciate any help!!!!

I figured it out! I had to re-calibrate my color display in system preferences. Not only does iCal look better, so does everything else on my screen!
I hope this helps anyone else who may have had the same problem.

I need 3rd party cookies enabled for a specific site. When I try to save custom settings, it defaults back to remember history and I can't open what I need on the site

Enabling thirds-party cookies is the default and if there aren't any other changes made then Firefox will show "Remember History"
Choosing the "Use custom settings for history" setting doesn't make any changes.<br />
If Firefox shows the "Use custom settings for history" setting then that is an indication that at least one of the history and cookie settings are not the default to make you aware that changes were If all History settings are default then you see "Firefox will: (Never) Remember History" and the custom settings are hidden.<br />

  • Custom color palettes

I'm looking for a way to store custom palettes within DW. I want to store and be able to call up a palette or list of custom colors for various sites. The OS color pickers are useless for this.
My company has specific hex/rgb values defined in our brand standards. I've created palettes for Photoshop & Illustrator and it's easy to load them and apply them to layers, objects, type, etc. I'd like to be able share them with Dreamweaver. If this isn't possible, then I'd like to create, store and share with other desingers.
I they can't be imported somehow from Photoshop/Illustrator, I want to be able to create and save them with custom names so I can easily call them up when I'm editing a CSS file. I've been trying to use the Assets panel but that's grayed out in the CSS file. If I use it in HTML it wants to create a new CSS declaration through a dialog which is not useful for me.
I could use Snippets instead I suppose. I've tried the Kuler extension which is quirky. It's fine for limited palettes of five colors but I need more.
I feel that either I'm missing something or this is a real gap in the Dreamweaver feature set. Any advice appreciated!

Thanks Jon. The OS color dialogs are OK for freely picking colors but I want to work with specific palettes and not have to type numbers into a dialog. What I'm doing at my day job is copy/pasting specific hex/rgb values from a brand-standards PDF reference doc. There are over 70 colors/tints so I spend a lot of time round-tripping. For other personal projects it's not so bad.
It's very frustrating that in 2013 that so many tools offer up the web-safe options by default. The web-safe concept never really worked anyway.
What I really want is to be able to establish a palette for a project at the outset and have easy access to the color values from within DW. Then, I want to be able to share palettes with other designers in the organiztion, particularly the junior members of my department. This is fairly easy in Photoshop and Illustrator but not apparently in DW.
It looks like you can associate Snippets to specific sites but each snippet is a separate xml file which is tedious to create. I've used Kuler for some projects but that has its limits.
The Assets panel looks promising since you can create sets of favorites, nest them in folders, copy them to other sites, etc. I can right-click colors in the panel and go through a dialog which adds new or redundant selectors to the bottom of my CSS file.  The problem is that the panel is disabled whenever I'm in code view so I can't edit an existing selector and simply choose a color from my Assets.
I really do appreciate all the suggestions. I keep hoping I've overlooked something.  I'll submit this to the wish list and reference this thread.

  • How do I get a custom color profile into a PDF?

I have a client who provided a custom color profile for a CMYK file.
I worked on Photoshop CS5.1 images and made sure the profile is embedded.
I placed these Photoshop images into an Illustrator CS5.1 template and made sure the profile is embedded.
I need to create a hires PDF with the Press Quality settings from the Illustrator file.
I have been doing a Save As to PDF from Illustrator, which seems to work.
OK, that's when my troubles start.... When I go into Acrobat Pro X v10.0.0 nothing indicates my profile is there.
I even have the profile loaded into Acrobat.
The client seems to want the Paper Simulation to show their profile, but the profile does not even come up in the list when I look for it. It seems to default to RGB even though this is a CMYK file.
I messed this up once already, and I need to get it right this time.
The client is in Germany and they sound very angry when they don't get the proper files.

  • Maintaining Custom Colors from FrameMaker to the PDF

I tried posting this question under the "Color Management" forum, but got a lot of questions asking what printer, paper, and other settings I'm using...not really what I'm looking for...
    Here is my original post:
I am having problems with my company's custom logo colors appearing in the PDF correctly. I created two color definitions in FrameMaker 10 (using colors Pantone 485 CVC and Pantone 281 CVC). These colors are mostly used for diagram callouts. Instead of printing these colors that I added, the default red and blue colors appear in the PDF.
I recently upgraded to Distiller X and Acrobat Professional X, thinking that maybe the older versions just didn't support those colors, and I am still getting the same result. FrameMaker is using the CMYK model.
I have a feeling that I just need to adjust some settings, but I don't know whether to adjust Distiller, Acrobat, or FrameMaker. Anyone else have issues when trying to use their company's colors? Any ideas on what might work? I don't think the problem is  my screen settings because when I compare the Frame file with the PDF, the difference is obvious.
    Thanks in advance,
    Smitty

What is your CMYK color space (e.g. some SWOP)?
How are you creating the PDF?
Save-as, print-to, or Distill from .ps
    Distill has a separate issue.
    What is the delivery flow?
Do you need color-matching at a print shop,
    or just in the PDF?
How are the logo colors coming in?
If they are from CMYK EPS, for example, they should survive the Windows GDI experience.
If any of your custom colors are text (not graphics), that's a more involved problem.
The fundamental problems you're facing are:
    1. Frame has no color management; never will.
    2. Windows had no CMYK for years, and now has a destructive fake CMYK.
There are usually work-arounds, 3rd party in extreme cases.

  • How to make a custom template the default for Apple Mail (10.7.5)?

    Hi,
I'm OK with making a new custom template in Apple Mail.  It shows up fine once under "custom" in the stationary pane (and once I take off signature in a new email).  But... that's a lot of trouble to go through everytime I want to send an email.
So the question is: can I make my custom template my default for all my emails, unless I want to manually change it?  Seems like this should be possible but I can't figure it out and haven't run into any solutions (only on how to make a template).
Do I really have to select it each time?
    Best,
    Joel

As an FYI: I just solved the problem by going the "low road." I'll be a bit laborious in case someone else wants a solution at a later date (I know I Googled the topic and found nothing). I experimented by simply:
    Opening a new email message
    Selecting my custom template
Copying the custom signature (Select All)
    Opening another new email message
Selecting Edit on the Signature pulldown menu
Hitting the plus symbol to create/add a new signature in the pane
    Pasting into the new signature
    Naming it
Selecting "Choose signature" at the bottom of the signatures pane
    And violà!!
It now appears as a possible selection *and* as the default.
Better yet - it is now my default and will work as a reply to an email.
I think I got it all right in the list above.
OK, granted, this is a pretty simply signature - a list of my website, SoundCloud, twitter etc with those names in bold and a graphic of my color logo - but... it works! YMMV.
Give it to Apple to make it so simple that any fool could do it (that would be me), you wouldn't need a "specialized" app, and - of course - there wouldn't even be instructions on how to do it!
    Best,
    Joel

  • Iphone custom colors were syncing, now not

i've read all the posts about the workarounds, etc with syncing iphone/mobileme calendars and not being able to assign colors. however, the custom colors that i had created in ical were created properly on iphone. i had to reset iphone, and now they're in they're not syncing.
i've reset sync data, added blank calendars, etc, but regardless, it's not working now. i don't remember if there was something specific i did to keep my custom colors assigned last time around. any thoughts? thanks.

  • Setting Custom printer to default

Printing is not work for me with Read 8.1 on Linux (Ubuntu). It only works if I set printer to Custom and give it an explicit command, e.g. "Lpr -Plp4".
However whenever I restart reader it does not keep custom as the default but goes back to the value set in "LPDEST" environment variable, anyone know how to fix this?

    Hello Neha,
Clicking on the properties button does not seem to have any effect, i.e. no text is displayed.
In the Printer dialog box I have on the left:
Name lp4 (from pull down menu)
    status lp4 is ready
    Type Unknown
    when I run "strace -s 256 -f -ff -o log1 acroread"
and using the "default printer" in the pull down menu I get this line amongst others in the main log
    readv(3, [{"*acroread*lprCommand:\t/usr/bin/lpr -Plp4\n", 41}, {"\0\0\0", 3}], 2) = 44
and this line in the subprocess log
    execve("/usr/bin/lpr", ["lpr", "-P", "lp4", "/tmp/acroread_1128_1128/AcroPTv0YZ"], [/* 81 vars */]) = 0
    but no print output.
Doing the same but choosing to use the "custom printer /usr/bin/lpr -Plp4" gave this line in the main log
    readv(3, [{"*acroread*lprCommand:\t/usr/bin/lpr -Plp4\n", 41}, {"\0\0\0", 3}], 2) = 44
and this line in the suprocess log
    execve("/usr/bin/lpr", ["lpr", "-Plp4", "/tmp/acroread_1128_1128/Acro2p8I98"], [/* 81 vars */]) = 0
    and it prints output
If do the same again but use the "custom printer /usr/bin/lpr -P lp4" I get
    readv(3, [{"*acroread*lprCommand:\t/usr/bin/lpr -Plp4\n", 41}, {"\0\0\0", 3}], 2) = 44
    execve("/usr/bin/lpr", ["lpr", "-P", "lp4", "/tmp/acroread_1128_1128/AcroPTv0YZ"], [/* 81 vars */]) = 0
    and again it prints output
    thanks,
    Dave.

  • XML: Custom Color and Bold font for News Title

    Hello,
Do anyone know how to fix the following problem?
We changed the color of the title of an newsitem in the RenderList layout by filling the RGB settings. This works fine, however if we want to make the font also bold, the color changing back into the default setting (=blue).
I hope one of you has got a solution.
    Kind regards,
    Joost

    Hi Shankar,
I already tried your suggestion. Unfortunately, it doesn't work.
However, I found the specific problem using a custom color in combination with Style = Link and Font decoration = Bold doesn't work. I found a work around solution, by changing the Style into Header3.
    Regards,
    Joost

  • Newsbeuter:custom colors show fine in urxvt alone -tmux just blk+white

hoping my lack of detail here isn't foolish.
I'm running a fairly minimalistic DWM system and as the subject tried to say,
in urxvt newsbeuter observes the custom colors I've set in it's conf.
Yet, when a tumx instance (in urxvt) is used loading newsbeuter results in
just white text on the usual black background.
    obvious? love to know.

Perhaps the colors that the bottom of the above code post are bad and I'm defaulting to white text?
the colors are great in urxvt alone as mentioned of course.

  • Color Palette custom color deployment

    Hello,
I'm using Forms 9.0.4. I created a custom color called 'tooltext' in the default color palette. Then I created a Visual Attribute called TOOLTIP_VA that used 'tooltext' as its background. Finally I set the Visual Attribute for some of my Tooltips to TOOLTIP_VA.
Now when I run this in Forms Builder the tooltip colors come up OK. I transferred my FMB file to the Linux formserver and compiled it there to FMX. When I run this form it works too. So I was assuming that somehow the RGB for my custom color is encoded in the FMB file. Is that right?
I acually expected this not to work (I didn't expect the RGB to be stored in the FMB). Curiously enough when I convert the FMB to XML the RGB for 'tooltext' is NOT in the XML file. However the string 'tooltext' is in the XML file. What's up with that? Does the FMB have the actual RGB values for 'tooltext'? If not, how is it getting the color correctly when I deploy to the forms server? I'm not deploying any PAL file, just the FMB.

Forms .fmb files contain a color pallette. If you create a new form, and put nothing in it, then save it, it will be at least 32k. If you edit it with a generic text editor, you will see lots of sequences of rgb numbers.
It is pretty strange that Forms stores the color palette -- completely unnecessary, I would think. Seems like they could just store the rgb sequence of your custom color rather than store the whole palette. I wish they would remove the color palette from the fmb, because there are other bugs related to colors caused by the reliance of a color pallette.

  • Where does Designer stores user defined custom colors?

    Hi,
Everytime I restart Designer, all my custom colors are reset to white. Which is pretty annoying. So I want to export them to a file at least.
I figured, that user defined custom colors in Windows are stored in the Registry in:
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Custom Colors]
    or alternatively in:
    [HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Control Panel\Colors]
But apparently they are not. Changes made to the custom color palette in Designer are not stored in the registry. Those values still remain FFFFFF.
Does anyone know, where Designer stores user defined custom colors? Is there a 'secret' undocumented .ini-file I missed?
    Regards,
    Steve

Does anyone know where the information added by Java reside?Essentially, in the directory.
Is there any way to query this information using VC++ dll or some other way?Yes, there are operating system APIs for it. That's how Java does it.
Does anyone know which windows dll or classes are used by Java to add these custom attributes
I tried lot by digging into code by decompiling java NIO classes but could not get it.I would try looking up the Windows API myself.

  • Selecting custom colors in Microsoft Word

I am really sorry if this is not the right place to ask this, but I can't find a better forum, and the official Microsoft newsgroup is lousy, so I'm hoping someone here will be able to help.
    I have a MacBook running OS X 10.4.10 and I use Office 2004 for Mac OS X.
When I click "More Colors...", to select a custom color for a font, for example, the button flashes, but no custom-color selector appears. I have no idea why. http://tinyurl.com/2ysn3l is a screencast I made to demonstrate what I mean. In it, I click "More Colors...", then select a few of Microsoft's preapproved colors to show that those do indeed work, and then click "More Colors..." a few more times.
To be clear, it's not limited to just the font-color pane. Shading for cells in tables is affected in the same way, as are all other color selections. I can only use Microsoft-approved colors! Help! Thanks so much!

Also, I should make clear the fact that I have not accidentally uninstalled the default OS X color picker thing. In, for example, an image-editing program, I can select a color quite normally using the OS X color selection thing, with the crayons and the sliders and all that jazz.
I am not sure if Office uses the OS X color selector, or its own. Either way, I don't have any color selector at all right now for Office, except the crippled couple of dozen colors Microsoft offers by default.

  • Custom Color Profiles

With the wonderful creation of X-Rite's Color Checker Passport and their software integration with Lightroom, I find myself creating profiles for lots of different lighting scenarios.  I would really like the ability to delineate between a "global" color profile such as the Adobe Standard or "built-in" ones that come with Lightroom, and a "local" profile.  "Local" profiles would have all of the same metadata as the global ones, but would reside or be associated with a particular folder (which I associate with a client *job*).
When viewing that particular LR folder or *Job*, the local profiles associated with that folder would be shown in the custom color profile drop-down combo box.  This would keep the color profile drop-down box from being polluted by many color profiles that get created (in my case) daily.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE add this ability!

    Hey WIll,
Yeah, that's a pretty great idea.
