Custom Date Format in a Date Field

I have an interesting problem. I am using a Date & Time field in a template for a copyright year. The problem is that there is no selection in the Date & Time field that displays only the year. Is there a way to add a new custom format so that I can have the Date & Time field show just the 4 digit year?

If you use a Table, you can use Custom Format in the Table Inspector to display only the year. It's not real convenient to use a function inside a Table Cell, but it's effective. You can insert the Date from the Insert menu, or you can use the expression "=TODAY()".
Consult the User Guide PDF on how to use the Custom Format. P. 214 of the English edition.

Custom Date Field not showing up in Pages Inspector

I created a custom date field in Address Book and now want to merge info from Address Book into a Pages template I created (including this new custom date field). When I go to the Inspector to add the custom date field to the template, it is not listed as a field - only Anniversary and Birthday are listed as "other" fields.
How do I get the custom date field to show up in the inspector?

Different calendar styles: seeded vs. custom date fields

All,
In several reports we prompt users to select an opportunity close date (seeded date field) that is within a given period of interest using a prompt on the close date field. The calendar style provides two buttons to select the starting and ending points. Then the user must select the refresh link to narrow the date range and then pick the first and second dates. This requires five clicks. Users find this cumbersome.
In contrast, we have a couple of reports that use a custom date field and users are prompted to select a beginning and end date. For this custom date field the calendar style provides a calendar button that allows you to directly select the first and second date without having to filter the range of possible dates. This is obviously only two clicks and is preferred by users.
Does anyone know how to get the "nice" date picker to apply to seeded date fields as in the first case?

Need the REPORT based on CUSTOM DATA field.
Requirement - I am having the CUSTOM data at Shop Order Maintenance that is called as XXX, I need some report in SAP ME which can display the SFC related to particular Shop order based on XXX Number.

As far as I remember there is no such base report. So, you may try to create it using SDK or request it as custom enhancement from SAP.
If you want to create it using SDK, you can find the required data for report in CUSTOM_FIELDS table.

Displaying Customer Date-Fields in SRM 4.0

I want to display a customer date-field (data type DATS) in the basic data of a SC. The Problem is that the field is only displayed, but you can't enter any data. When i change the data type to CHAR you can enter Data in the field.

Hi,
Our development team has added custom data fields for work experience (IT5103) via include CI_P5103. We are unable to adjust the appearance of the fields via Flexibilization.
Steps we followed:
1. Developers added fields (Z_FIELD1 & Z_FIELD2) to CI_P5103
2. Created contexts EXTRNL & INTRNL
3. Configured Flexibilization for Z_FIELD1 & Z_FIELD2 in EXTRNL for SAP/HRRCF_PROFILE/WORKEXPERIENCE_DETAIL.BSP to Hidden (Item Considered for Calculating Layout)
4. Configured Flexibilization for Z_FIELD1 & Z_FIELD2 in INTRNL for SAP/HRRCF_PROFILE/WORKEXPERIENCE_DETAIL.BSP to Display Only
5. Ran RCF_GENERATE_URLS for both EXTRNL & INTRNL
6. Both fields show on External Candidate Start Page (EXTRNL) and Internal Candidate Start Page (INTRNL) and are not affected by the Flexibilization config
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I understand your feedback, but I don't see anything in that documentation that excludes custom fields from the modification of display.
Define Additional Fields says:
You can define additional fields for various infotypes in a Customer Include. The additional fields are displayed automatically on the relevant page.
Modify Fields in Interfaces says:
In this IMG activity you can switch fields on and off on certain application user interfaces and flag fields as mandatory fields. You assign these field definitions to a context in which the changes to the user interfaces are visible.
Screen flexibilization is possible for the following pages:
Candidate Profile
Namespace/Application/Page Page Name...
SAP/HRRCF_PROFILE/WORKEXPERIENCE_DETAIL.BSP Work Experience
It seems logical we should be able to alter the display for a custom field that if the field is defined in the approriate include.
I guess this could be another case of logic and SAP not following the same path.

I am trying use the Reference Field for Monitor. It has got 1. Priority, 2. Order/Start/End, 3. Scheduled Start/End.
We have created a custom date field as Original start/Finish dates. I want to create traffic light based on this date.

But I want the date field (highlighted) to look like this Well formatted date of birth input field - JSFiddle (The Date Format Normal. Not the tab option. I mean the second styling ). Using IFNULL returns failure on Opportunity Custom Date Field

I want to use the IFNULL statement to automatically populate a date field when nothing is added. I want to use
IFNULL("- Opportunity Custom Attributes".DATE_28, '01-01-2009') but this returns error message: [nQSError: 46033] Datatype: 25 is not supported. (HY000)
Apparently the value '01-01-2009' is not recognized as valid date format. Any solutions?

Custom Date field range

I have 3 date fields in my view.
what i need is
for example
My First date field i am selecting 1st January 2008
Second date field i am selecting 10th January 2008
in my third date field calendar should enable only in between that 2 dates.remaining dates are disable.
How to dothis? pls reply ASAP.

Custom date fields in Interactive Report

Hi,
I am using newly patched version of Apex - 4.0.2.00.06
What I am trying to do is to have two datepicker fields P84_DATE_FROM and P84_DATE_TO in separate HTML region, on the page that has IR / Interactive Report, that will be filter in report source.
In debug mode I noticed that values that are picked with datepicker are not binding in report sql.

Do I have to force submit on Go button before it executes gReport.search('SEARCH')? Is it the right way to go about this?

I was informed by SAP few months back that Interactive Reports can not be enhanced with custom fields. I don't see any documentation regarding this.
You may want to check with SAP also.

Added custom date fields at contract;need to trigger mail using those dates

Hi,
II have added 14 custom fields in the service order quotation for handling waranty start date and end dates capturing for the maximum of 7 years contract.
Then its usual yearly action of the waranty team to put the dates in those fields.
The first set of 2 input fields will be filled at the quotation creation itself; rest the set of 12 fields will be updated in this 7 years time.
My requirement is such that to the capture all the waranty end dates filled in the input fields and trigger a mail 30 days prior to that days.
Example : I have contract from 01/08/2004 to 31/07/2010.
Then my waranty startdate / end date can be filled by waranty team as 01/08/2004 to 31/07/2005 in the waranty first year.the i need to trigger a mail to waranty team on 01/07/2005.
For the second year if we have dates filled as 01/08/2005 to 31/07/2006; then to trigger mail on 01/07/2006.
I have tried using ACTIONS but couldn't get much help.
As a work around thinking for a report to fetch the contract for that Trans.type and check the dates with the present date + 30 and collect those to perfrom the respective actions.This is workaround.
Tried using the DATE TYPES creating 7 different DATE TYPES and assigning the ( end dates - 30 ) to that manually upon save.
and using this DATE TYPE along with the action definition can we acheive ? but it too will be work around.
How to acheive this one. It became critical now in the project.

Hi,
In your scenario, you don't need synchronous email facility.
Probably you can create a z table and maintain all required dates in this table (before saving your transaction somewhere you would have to read your custom fields and save them in this table along with object ID/GUID). Then create a report that would read dates from z table and then send emails to your warranty team. Schedule this report in background with frequency of once day.

Exchange rate should pick from TCURR based on custom date field added in MIGO

In MIGO, FI document get posted by picking exchange rate based on the posting date. Through BADI(MB_DOCUMENT_BADI) we have added a field called translation date in MIGO screen, while doing GRN exchange rate should pick from TCURR based on translation date instead of posting date. We have tried this logic using substitution (GGB1) in FI accounting it is working fine in FB60 & F-02 transaction but it is not working with MIGO transaction. Please suggest some solution for this.

This will a modification to existing system and it is not supported directly.
There are 2 notes of SAP for modification of translation date of BKPF.
SAP Note 574583 will activate a BADI kindly refer to it for details.

I am creating a sales order from CRM Web UI. I am having Configurable Product. to create a sales order.
If i click on configure product button, I can maintain the parameter values (Months) while creating a sales order.
Now my question is i need the "Sales Order End date" automatically populated with "Sales order start date" + above menctioned Parameter value by months.
Please let me know if you need any more details.
What i have done is i created a date rule to configure this and added the parameter in the generated ABAP code for date rule.
But i am not having any luck to populated the value.
Please show some light to move further.

Create 2 Date instances for 'FromDate' & 'ToDate' with required values & set them.
Example:

Pages custom date format

I'm looking for a way to create a custom date format outside a Pages formatted cell. In other words, in text paragraphs, I need to be able to update the year only in a paragraph. Any ideas?

If you are looking for the capability within Pages to insert a custom date field-code like the following, outside of a table, then I am not aware of how it can be done. I used LibreOffice 4.0 to produce the following image.
When this was exported as a .docx file into Pages v4.3 on Mountain Lion, the YYYY format was replaced by a Pages date field. A right-button selection of this date in Pages offers an Edit Date & Time... menu item that produces the following panel:
There is no YYYY format customization on this panel within Pages.
It is possible to write an AppleScript service that runs from your Pages > Services menu and scans your Pages document for a date to convert to a YYYY replacement format. You may not want that either.

I need to do validation on these fields, like difference between start date and end date should not be more than 3 months.
I should show a popup message to user whenever start date and end date is more than 3 months.
How to achieve this?
