How do I setup a custom Demand priority sequence in CTM profile, Want to prioritize my demands as follows: Safety stock, Sales order and Forecast (ascending).

As per my earlier reply go to Trans./SAPAPO/CTMORDSEL for Order Selection ,in this create a new Order Selection by entering Order selection ID and in first Tab page of selection you can select the Master data Selection which can be otherwise selected in the CTM profile in Trans./SAPAPO/CTM under Planning Scope Tab Page and Master data Selection .
In the same Selection Tab Page of Order Selection and Time related Selection area you can specify the time period and in the second Tab Page of ATP Categories ,in filter for ATP Cat.All ATP Categories in left hand side screen you can set the ATP categories as CB safety stock,BM sales Order and FC as Forecast and save this order selection .
Then enter this order selection in the CTM profile under Planing Scope Tab Page and Demand Selection Area by selection the radio button on Order Selection and from drop down select the ID that you hhave saved .Thus CTM run takes into consideration the orders selected while planing .
you can define a srort Profile in trans. S_AP9_75000206 (under Demand Prioritization)where the prorities are set as if the certain Locations/Products (LOCNO /MATNR ) are having prority or Material availability date(MBDAT) or the Distribution Channel or Sales Orgnization have more priority ,this profile is then selected in the sort profile in the CTM profile instead of setting proritizing sequence there .

Demand priority during Resource allocation

Hi,
We're facing difficulties in getting the expected planned orders -
We've following scenario -
PArt Qty Needed Due date
P1 2700 01/05/2009
P2 2700 01/05/2009
Resource is available 18 hrs/day while usage for both assy is 60 units/hr. ASCP constraints with decision rule plan is creating splitted planned order to complete the demand for both assy rather than completing one of them first and then move to other. Is anyone of you aware of any setups in ASCP, which can decide the priority of Assly on resource based on either assy itself or part category.
The reason of this is that factory planner doesn't want to publish a plan, where they've to change models frequently on one line.

The software does not do exactly what the user is asking for, but you can build a reasonable solution.
They want to release orders based on item category. You can show them how to query planned order based on item category using the Oracle forms "Find" feature. you can also build a process where they can see several planned orders and expose the item category column in the PWB using the "show field" feature. They can now see planned orders by date, by item, by item category. They next adjust the dates as desired and hit release.
You can use the pegging to see the customer for each planned order, but that is time consuming so it should be an exception process. You need to push them on this requirement. If it is an exception process, the pegging provides full visibility and works extremely well. To expand beyonfd this process, get them to use the demand priority column in the PWB to set priorities.

Accepting Deviations & Closing Customer Demand Issue

Hi all,
A customer that works in both ft and meters constantly has rounding issues on various documents. In particular, on the outbound process during the pick task they will round the actual quantities when they enter them and post/save the task. This typically leaves small deviations that require them to 'Accept the Deviation' from outbound logistics --> Work view.
However, the issue is that the deviation amounts are not clearing from Customer Demand. They remain open with release status ' partially released' & delivery status 'in process'...& if we try to 'force or cancel the confirmation' within the customer demand workcenter...we get an alert message that:
"Item XX Partially Released; confirmation of released part frozen."
What is the proper way to clear these deviation amounts manually from Customer Demand, so that the status's become 'released' & 'finished' (so that these items are no longer hung up in customer demand)...& is there a way to automatically configure the system to do this, so that it doesn't have to be done manually each time a deviation is accepted (which is a lot in this customer's case)
*Clarification: This problem is the same whether we use the 'Accept Deviation' or 'Accept the Deviation and Reject Open Quantities' option.

Hi Jim,
Do you mean just return to the original sales order and add a 'Reason for Rejection' for that particular line item...yes this can be done I suppose (& it will clear the customer demand). But this will become pretty tedious if they constantly have deviations...each time they accept the deviation they will always have to return to the original sales order & reject the individual line item. Do you know of any way to automate this process so deviations are automatically closed out / cleared from demand?

Are Easy Setups with Custom Capture and Sequence Presets Portable?

Hi,
I created some Custom Capture and Sequence Presets. Then I created some Easy Setups that use these presets.
Can I copy the Easy Setups to another machine or do I need to create or copy the Custom Presets in order for the Easy Setups to work?
If I need to copy or create the Custom Presets how can I copy them (which files do they live in)?

Thanks for the reply. The Easy Setups are in the directory you mentioned but the Custom Presets are not.
My question is are the custom presets used by the Easy Setup contained inside the Easy Setups? If not are there files I can copy or do I need to manually create them on the second Mac?
Since the other Mac is 50 miles away I have no easy way to test this. If there are files I can bring rather than redoing the custom presets that would be quite a bit easier.

SNP Optimizer demand priority

In SNP Optimizer What is the "Corrected Demand Fcst " corresponds to which keyfigure in SNP? My understanding is "Customer Demand" => Sales Orders (Category BM), Demand Forecast => Forecast (ie Category FA). I can't find any mapping for Corrected Demand Fcst.

You can create a custom category group and attach all the categories of forecast for the customer you want to, maintain this category group against the Forecast (correlated) key figure in the Planning Area.
Also include this key figure in the planning book.

Demand priority

Hi All,
We have three customers, say
Customer A
Customer B and
Customer C
Whenever I run my planning engine, Customer A demand should be met 100% (say Rank 1) irrespective of request date.
After satisfying the Customer A demand, balance supplies should now satisfy Customer B and Customer C.
In which, 80% of Customer B (say Rank 2) demand and 20% of Customer C (say Rank 2) demand need to be satisfied with the remaining supplies.
Let me know how this can be acheived and your thoughts on this will be very helpful.

Fair Share Allocation rules are used in Distribution Requirement Plans. With these rules, ASCP will allocate scarce supplies between competing demands with the same priority. Similar to a sourcing rules, a Fair Share Allocation Rules can be assigned to organizations, categories, and items. ASCP also generates exceptions alert the planner to supply allocation problems.

Generating next value in a custom 2 character sequence

I am working on a customer project for creating a web portal that needs to write data back to an ancient legacy backend mainframe system. I have never used sql server sequences before but I believe that is what I will need to use.
Each vendor in this application has a char(3) vendor code field. Each transaction a vendor does is identified by a char(2) transaction code field. The char(2) transaction code field for the legacy system is what I am trying to generate.
This transaction code field is 2 character alpha-numeric sequence. I need to create a store proc to give me the next available transaction code for that vendor. The sequence got numbers 0-9 then letters A-Z as follows:
00,01,02....0A,0B...0Y,0Z,10,12....ZZ
In the stored proc to get me the next available transaction code for a vender, I need to take the 3 character vendor code as in input parameter, then check the vendor transactions table to see which transaction codes exist and return the next one from the
sequence to use next.

Custom Step Type: Sequence Call

OK, I'm primarily a LabVIEW programmer, but in TestStand I understand how to:
* Create a Custom Step Type
* Link a LabVIEW Module for execution, post substep, edit substep, etc.
* Prevent the user from selecting a different module for an instance of my Custom Step Type.
All good stuff.
Now here's what I want to do: the exact same thing, except that I want the custom step to call a subsequence instead of a LabVIEW VI during execution. Yes, I want to use a LabVIEW VI for the edit substep (to set certain parameters for this instance of the subsequence call. Yes, I want to use a LabVIEW VI for the post substep.
Can this be done?

Short answer, yes.
When you create your step type, for the Specify Module you would use a SequcenceCall Adapter instead of your labview adapter.
You would have to have your sequencefile with your sequences already created seperately and you would set the sequencefile not to use a process model in the sequencefile properties.

Custom Numbered List Sequence (example: F, G, H, J, K)

Hey all,
Is it possible to create a custom numbering sequence for a numbered list in InDesign?
For example, rather than have my list go: F, G, H, I, J, K, we'd like to skip the I at every iteration and go straight to J.
The reason for this is I work for a testing company, and our answer sheets don't have the letter I on them.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Customer/Order Priority

Hello,
We are in the system design phase, have a scenario where a group of customer when they place the order that order should take the highest priority by default.
this high priority should be all the way till the warehouse picking slip which would have to have the text saying that pick this order the first and ship it before any other order.
we gone have ATP and MRP & credit check set up in the system, the sales orders for these customer would go through the regular ATP check & credit check.
I understand one of the thing that can be done is to define the delivery priority on the shipping tab of Customer master as the high, but would that be enough to differentiate the high and medium priority in the same standard order type ?
Also there is another scenario "Immediate" where it could be a customer from any group, but when they request to place the Immediate order, that order goes to the highest priority, even if it means to change the schedule line to no ATP check, no credit check, create delivery and print the picking slip & ship it ASAP.
in both of the above scenarios the orders would be created manually in the system by the customer service.
Currently the consideration is to have 2 different order types in addition to the standard order for both of the above scenario, & in the order type of immediate scenario there will be no ATP check, & no Credit check, chances are we might have special reservations of material for this kind of Immediate order Scenario.
any input and suggestions are welcome.

You can use Delivery Priority field (customer master record or customer-material info record)
When you process deliveries collectively, you can use delivery priority as one of the selection criteria. I think we can use this field to MRP (PP) too.

How to kill custom Easy Setup / Sequence Presets?

I set up some experimental Sequence Presets and Easy Setups and now want to delete them. I have tried every recommendation that I could find (details below) but they still show up in the lists. Where on earth are these things stored??
Here's what I've done:
1. Repaired disk permissions
2. In FCP, selected the Sequence Preset and pressed the Delete button.
3. Exited Final Cut Pro.
4. Trashed the preferences by deleting these files:
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.FinalCutPro.plist
~/Library/Preferences/Final Cut Pro User Data/Final Cut Pro 6.0 Prefs
~/Library/Preferences/Final Cut Pro User Data/Final Cut Pro Obj Cache
~/Library/Preferences/Final Cut Pro User Data/Final Cut Pro Prof Cache
5. Emptied the Trash
6. Rebooted the computer.
7. Started Final Cut Pro.
8. The Presets/Setups are still there!! Tried to find them by name with Spotlight. Doesn't find anything. Tried to find them using the command-line Defaults program. Doesn't find anything. Looked in
/Applications/Final Cut Pro Additional Easy Setups
They are not there.
I also have Final Cut Express installed and trashed all its preferences too for good measure. But my custom settings will just not die.
All ideas welcome!

It is not a standard process to have customer stock (although the experts on the SD board may be able to suggest something).
But you can reserve stock for a customer order and I know that you said "without" a sales order, but it might be better to create a dummy sales order for this and reserve the stock against that order number.
If you don't use a sales order then how are you going to issue the goods to the customer when appropriate?

Displaying custom node group sequences (and their creation)

firstly my usual disclaimer :) I am a newbie at JavaFX and only jump back in when I have a little time here and there.
What I'm trying to achieve, is to create an Object call MyItem which is essentially a Group with a rectangle, image and text. I want to be able to create multiple of these MyItem's and add them to a sequence (list, array).
Then do a foreach item MyItems --> insert into myGroup.content[];
But it keeps saying that either a Node or a Sequence is not what it's looking for...

}As you can see, my main problem seems to be that the last Node in Items.fx gets displayed, and not all three (try commenting out Text node and image appears etc...)
So, either I get the Items.fx to return as a Group (?), but then I get the error that it expects a sequence etc.
So how can I get the myItems[] in AAItems.fx to fill up with a "group" of nodes and then be able to iterate through them on the Main.fx ?
I hope that's clear? :/
What I want is a list of Items(.fx) created in AAItems(.fx) and be able to then display (iterate through) them in Main(.fx).
I'm sure it's a concept flaw on my part on how to implement it. Any help appreciated.

Oops. I guess not "exactly" what I wanted:
The Stack container arranges its managed content nodes in a back-to-front Stack. The z-order of the content is defined by the order of the content sequence with content[0] being the bottom and content[sizeof content-1] being the top...
D'Oh! Just replacing Stack with Group does the job... man... I need a holiday!!! :D

'Custom' frame size sequence displaying weirdly in full screen mode...

I cutting an IMAX film, the frame is 1428 x 1050 (virtually 4:3 ratio). In ProRes it plays and works just fine on the timeline, proper proportions in the canvas and viewer windows ... and when I open it to full screen it works, proper proportions, as a 'still' image; but when I hit 'play' it pops into a 16:9 sort of frame ... the image squashed.
This doesn't happen with an 'uncompressed' codec, only with ProRes.
Is there any way I can set something in FCP to compensate for this? So it will actually play the custom frame in its proper proportions in a full screen mode?

Custom Timebase in sequence settings for 15 fps animation

I have an stop-motion project, where we are capturing images to playback at 15 frames per second. I have set up FCP to do this in the past, but I cannot find where the preference is. I thought you could just set your sequence settings to use a 15 fps timebase, but all of the options are from 24p to 60. I have an older project file that has the 15 fps timebase, so i could just copy that sequence, but am I missing the obvious preference option to make a 15 fps sequence, or did they take that option away between fcp 3 and 4.5?

I was thinking about working at 30 fps, and setting the image sequences to use a two second rather than one second duration to simulate the 15 fps playback rate of the movie, but the problem is that the cut made in fcp is only an offline edit, made using lo-quality quicktimes that have to be replaced with the original image sequences for the final export.
Its not to big of an adjustment to do this, but I don't see why I have to now, and didn't need to before, especially since I will double my file sizes.
