Custom domain mails

I am new to Apple world and iphone, i run two business and have few custom domains ir eceive email from. In my Windows Mobile phone, once i delete the message on the server, the next time my mobile phone checks for new messages, it syncs the messages and deletes whats deleted on the server. On iphone once its downlaods the message, it keeps in my inbox even though i delted the mail on the server. Itsa pain to go over 4 days of emails, i rather have whats fresh on the server. I used POP3 to retrieve emails from my domain, anyway i can only see whats on server and not whats downloaded to my iphone?

A POP account is not kept synchronized with the server.
The iPhone's Mail client includes an option to remove messages from the server when downloaded for a POP account just as is available with an email client on your computer. This does not remove messages from the account's Inbox mailbox with the iPhone's mail client or with the email client on your computer after messages already downloaded are removed from the server.
With an IMAP account, all server stored mailboxes are kept synchronized with the server automatically with each email client used to access the account. Delete a message from the account's Inbox mailbox with the iPhone's mail client and the message will not be available in the account's Inbox mailbox when checking the account's Inbox mailbox with the email client on your computer, and vice-versa. This is not supported with a POP account. If you remove a message from the server when downloaded for a POP account with the iPhone's mail client, the message will no longer be available at the incoming mail server and will not be available for download with the email client on your computer, and vice-versa.
