well, lately i've been using rock, jazz and more frequently disco as my EQ mainly cuz theyre the loudest and clearest as for the vocals and instruments. i was just wondering if anyone knew a Full Bass and Treble Custom EQ setting. I really dont know anything about EQs and which panel does which so im really in a rut here. thanks for reading!

Have to disagree with you, Zealot. You purchase the musicians' "best" recorded arrangement of each song, including the amount of bass, etc., they feel is appropriate. Even the cheapest earbuds and headphones currently sold by reputable manufacturers are technically capable of transmitting the full range of any recently recorded, or remastered, music to your ears.
If you're having problems, it's because specific earbud designs don't "fit" your unique ear configuration, or because the earbud or headphone design irritates "sensiti've" parts of your ears. It really isn't a "technical" problem, even though marketing and sales people may deliberately mislabel it as such...
If you choose to pay as much for a set of earbuds as you paid for your player, be my guest! But, please don't pretend it's necessary because cheaper earbuds don't perform "technically"...
If you install a plug-in, like MaxxPlayer, on your WMP0 program in your computer, you can scientifically increase the percei'ved "bass" or "treble" effect in your songs. These programs are called "enhancements", but what they do is make your mind believe you are hearing harmonic overtones an octave lower (bass) or an octave higher (treble) than are being played in the actual recording you're listening to... Such scientific "enhancements" allow to you to "hear" a significant "bass" component in a song, even when it isn't actually present! If such "enhancement" turns you on, you should download one of those plug-ins for a free week's trial use... I don't believe such programs are currently available for the Micro Zen player, but it's only a matter of time...
On the other hand, when you emphasize a specific frequency range in the Custom Equalizer on your Micro Zen player (example: using the slider on the 80 Hz "bass" frequency to increase the "bass" output) you will succeed only if there are actual instruments playing or voices singing in that frequency range on the original recording... If there are no voices or instruments performing in that frequency range, all you do is flood your song with "white noise"...
I call that "distortion", and I can't think of a single instance where it makes any sense, at all...

Hello all,
I can't open a PP project without this error message appearing:
"The preset used by one or more sequences in this project requires third-party components that could not be located. These sequences will be modified to use a custom sequence setting instead. To continue editing using the original preset, quit the application without saving the project, reinstall any third-party components that are required and reopen the project".
What I had been doing before this occurred was editing a PP project using ProRes sequences and multi-camera editing. Multi-camera was not working very well and after a few attempts to fix that I gave up and finished the job cutting 3 layers of video instead. AME refused to render the three finished sequences of over 1hr duration so rendered final videos from the PP sequences.
I tried deleting plists for AME, PP and QT, repairing disc permissions and rebooting but there was no improvement.
Client is satisfied for now but will want to come back to this job at a later date so decided to uninstall and re-install AME and PP in the hope both would be ready to work properly when needed again. AME works fine in conjunction with a different PP project but now I can't open the PP project in question without the above error message appearing.
Having searched the net it would seem that the problem may be caused by ProRes but I haven't been able to find a definitive solution for the problem. Does anyone know either:
1. How to fix this?
2. If I chose the "modified using a custom sequence setting", can I be sure that my sequences will look the same even if they don't use ProRes? The final deliverable format will be mp4 so as long as the overall look doesn't change then I can afford a change in the edit codec. It's just that with three sequences over an hour long, I don't want days of work to be ruined.
Other older PP projects of mine open and work fine.

Adobe web chat come up with a solution.
Open the PP project.
Export your sequence or project as a Final Cut Pro XML file.
Set up a new PP project.
Import the Final Cut Pro XML file.
This will get you back up an running.
Since getting back to editing this project I have found that some things will be lost or change in using XML:
You will lose position key framing, black video clips, dissolve fx, audio levels, audio dynamic fx, the ability to open a multi camera clip and change the camera view.
You will keep cut points, crop fx.
Not perfect but only took a couple of hours to save 3 days work.

I have looked at all of my settings both in Bridge and CS6 Photoshop regarding Camera Raw. I am at a loss how to set the crop tool in cm or inches as I once did - now the only option is to crop using ratios of 1:1 etc etc - This is infuriating as lots of my square crops I could set at 10" x 10'' specifically to print one to one to fit frame and mount size -
Now if cropping using bloody aspect ratio of 1:1 (square) the actual dims of the crop are roughly 4.25 inches x 4.25 inches. this means I then have to open the whole image in photoshop in order to crop at the dims I have set! It was so much quicker in terms of batch cropping in camera raw being able to set dims in centimetres and inches but they have gone and mucked around with it, with the new bloody update! Unless you are an absolute genius and know how I can go back to having an option of CM, Inches and aspect ratio within the custom crop settings? (Please say you do)

Search result category with a custom layout set?

I've created a nice little search IVIEW with a custom search options set that will display the document category (taxonomy) in the search result (if the resulting document is categorized, of course.) Works great. However there is one little problem. The categories in the search results are hyperlinked and when you select one, you get a new window with the taxonomy rendered in the default layout set (the ConsumerExplorer I think.) Not good. I need this displayed in a custom layout set.
Any ideas how to make this hyperlink use a custom layout set without changing the default?

Hi Paul,
As per my knowledge of the basic s of layout sets and iviews.
You want to change the layout set of the iview(window) which opens when u click the hyperlink.
You should do this:
1)Make a new layout set by customizing the default one.
2)If the iview opening is a standard iview then go to its properties and change the Layout set value to ur new layout.
Please revert in case of issues.

Custom command set problems

Hi,
I am having some problems with my custom Avid based command set.
I have had the "A" and "S" keys assigned to "Go to prev/next edit" to simulate Avid but want to change it to "Up" and "Down" which does pretty much the same in the timeline but allows me to go to next/previous clip in the list view as well.
The problem is that every time I try to assign the "Down" command to the "S" key the .commandset file gets corrupt and the next time I start fcpx it freezes at "Restoring the window layout".
I can assign it if I make a completely new command set.

OK, then it has do be something specific with my command set. I've recreated my problem several times: Start fcpx, works fine, quit, take backup of preferences file. Start fcpx again, works fine, switch to custom command set, works fine, quit, restart of app fails... revert to backed up preferences file, works fine...
What could it be in my command set then? I've tried recreating the setup I use in Avid. The thing is that it works just fine until I quit and restart the app... Really annoying!

Custom Layout Set

Hi people.
I am trying to create new, custom layout set, by copying existing sets and adding / removing features.
My target is to create a layout set similar to ConsumerExplorer, but with a small addition - "Search" option.
I have tried to play with the Admin breadcrumb, and also tried to add "Search from here" command through UI Commands, but unsuccessful.
Could anyone please tell me how I can add the "Search" option to ConsumerExplorer without showing the whole admin toolbar?
Points will be awarded, of course.

The standard ConsumerExplorer layout set contains the Search from here command as part of the hover menu of the root element. Can you explain what exactly do you need?

I am developing a custom extension to SCSM that needs an administration settings page. I have the MP created and the SCSM part in place. Also the WPF User Control dll part, but the link between the two is the trouble. I have used Travis

I'm afraid the screenshot doesn't provide enough information about the error.
Have you stepped through your code yet to find out where the error is occurring? If you're unfamiliar with how to do that: In Visual Studio, Debug|Attach to Process, attach to the Microsoft.EnterpriseManagement.Monitoring.Console.exe. Set a break-point at
the first statement in your ExecuteCommand method, then double-click your admin settings in the console. If your DLL is properly installed, you should hit the break-point right away.
If you're not hitting your break-point but still seeing the exception, it's likely something is out of whack with your MP or the way your DLL is setup.

Error while generating custom ref sets Hierarchies

I am trying to gernerate datasource for custom reference sets hierarchies through SBIW and getting an error as below.
"Changes to Repository or Cross-Client customizing are not permitted."
How do I fix this problem. Please advise.

it seems you are trying to generate datasource in QAs or Production system ? where changes are not allowed.
normally we have to do the changes in Development system and then transport to QAs/Production.
setting to allow changes done with transaction SCC4, but it's basis guy job.

Custom "Metadata Sets"

Version 1.0 has 5 pre-defined subsets of the metadata display in library in Addition to ALL.
There are a LOT of fields that I use only very rarely. And none of the pre-defined subsets include all the fields I use for nearly every image. SO, I would really like to see the ability to create 3 or 4 customized Metadata Sets that would facilitate entering/viewing the fields I want and not be cluttered with the ones I usually ignore.

I looked over the regex.info web page and will work with the program soon as I get a chance. Not as convenient as a function built into the program, but as good as we can get until Adobe incorporates something similar into LR.

Convert custom character set of nonunicode system to standard character set

hi all,
I'm a BI consultant and have the following problem:
we want to load attribute data (products, customers,...) from R3 into BI via standard extractors.
R3 is a non-unicode system, and some products (or customers) use a custom character set Z2.
When we extract this data to BI (a unicode system) we get an error (tRFC) saying he can't confert certain values. SAP says that he can't convert character set Z2 to the standard character set 4102.
Converting the R3 system to a unicode system would be the solution,but is not an option... unfortunatly...
Please advice, give gidelines,... because this problem is really a showstopper for our project...

Are any models of the iPod able to use a custom equalizer setting?

The equalizer presets included with the iPod (Acoustic, Rock, Electronic, etc.) are okay, but there are alot of people that would rather create their own equalizer presets to truly enjoy the quality and sound of thier music. I've read plenty of forums on if the iPod Nano 6th generation or any iPod for that matter can use a custom equalizer setting. Sadly, it's not possible (from what I've read). I'm really surprised the techs from Apple haven't done anything to help out. I was just wondering if anyone has figured this "problem" out? If so, I would really appreciate it if someone could explain step by step on how to do so. Thanks in advance!

Equalizing is done through iTunes. As for step by step instructions you will need to tell us which os system you have then post in the iTunes forums for whichever os system you have.
If you would like custon equalizing directly on the iPod put your request on the Product Feedback website.

Creating Custom Caption Set

I'm trying to create a custom caption set for Cap 5. I created the 5 seperate bmp files and saved them to the Gallery, all properly named and added the information to the font .ini file. When I open Captivate again the group is present for me to select except that the inside of the box is transparent and I want it to be white like in the .bmp I created in Photoshop. The background of the .bmp I created is all grey, the box is white with an orange outline. What am I missing? I'm not clear on the upper left hand corner pixel things I've been reading, I was assuming since the entire background is grey that I wouldn't have any transparency issues. Any help would be great. I'm having this same problem, but my caption is all white except for the top left pixel. It's FFFFF9, while the rest of the pixels are straight FFFFFF. Unfortunately, that makes it rather difficult to display it on this white page! So I expanded the canvas and filled the canvas with gray. The gray area is not part of the caption itself.
Here's a view of it at 6400%. I used the magic wand to select only the pure white pixels--you can see that the upper left is a different color.
When the caption displays in the dropdown, its thumbnail is also transparent.
The weird thing is, a co-worker is using the caption successfully in Cap 5. She sent me the .bmp and .fcm files, and I saved them into my Gallery>Captions directory. I've tried closing and restarting Captivate, with no success.
I appreciate any suggestions that anyone has!
