Custom Excel macros can't be accessed by new admin user, only original developer

Excel macros created several years ago using NI Measure are not accessible to users other than the original developer. We are using Win 2000 OS, NI Measure version 1.2 upgraded from version 1.0, and Microsoft Office Excel 2003 SP1. Even if the user has the same admin rights as the original developer of the macro, they cannot access it. The macro is accessible and works fine when the original developer logs into the win 2000 pc with his login name and password. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know how we can resolve this issue?

Alex,
The first thing to try would be to install the patch for Measure (Measure Patch 1.2c) if you haven't already. Do you have this same issue when trying to access Macros not created by Measure? Unfortunately, the best I could find on Macro and Measure issues were the following KBs.

Based on my understanding, your issue is you cannot create folder in Windows 7, right?
Did you fix it?
This issue might be caused by corrupted system file.

Can I give access to truncate one table only ?

Hi,
We have system where it is deleting one table and inserting records using pro-cobol in a table owned by another schema. It means user b is inserting records in a's table i.e. t. Can I give access to truncate only a.t ? delete any table or drop any table will give access to b to truncate any table in 'a'. I do not want this. How can I achive this ?

As Justin already said there is no separate right to simple GRANT TRUNCATE ON TABLE to user.

To truncate a table or cluster, the table or cluster must be in your schema or you must have DROP ANY TABLE system privilege.
So the best way would be to encapsulate this login in a packaged procedure as described by Justin.

SA520 web access problem, all admin users sessions appears active when it is not true

Hi, all the users for the management access to my SA520 are blocked via web, all the admin users sessions aparently they seem active, and when i do click on the "continue" button these sessions does not terminate. I guess i have to reset the firewall, but my question is if anybody has the same problem with this device.

What firmware version are you running? How frequent do you see this occurrence?
If possible, when you start to see this issue before all the admin sessions are reporting active,can you provide us the debug logs from your SA 520 so that I can forward to the development team to investigate? We are tracking an issue with a customer, but his device takes 3-4 months to show the symptoms you describe.
To get the dbglog from SA520, login through web UI and in the browser enter the following URL:
https://LAN_IP_address_of_SA520/scgi-bin/dbglog.cgi
These logs will store password, so please remove any sensitive information and passwords. Also if you are not comfortable posting the dbglog on the community, you can send it directly to me through private message.

OBIEE access denied for some users only

Hi All,
we are using OBIEE 10.1.3.4 version on windows envorinment .The users can access the OBIEE reports using 'PORTALPATH' session varible in RPD.For some of the users are got "access denied" while they are accessing for thir particular dashboard.Eariler these user got access this dashboard with out any errors.We dnt changed in our system anything from last three months.
We have no idea why we are getting these error for particular users only.Its Prod issue we need to reslove these error ASAP.

Well its Prod (you have a dashboard called testdashboard in Prod?) anyway - someone might have changed the presentation catalogue permissions on the dashboard. All it takes is for someone to remove 'Everyone' or change a Group permission and it could effect.
If they changed the Parent folder and cascaded the changes down this might cause this issue.
You have a folder called 'Shared' - check the groups that the people are in have 'Traverse' , 'Read' or higher. Also chek dashboard permissions themselves from Settings-Manage Interactive Dashboards - Check the Padlock icon.
Are you users getting allocated into the correct WEBGROUPS ? Is this assisngment done explicitly in the webcat or via an RPD Variable ? Have you checked NQQueryl.log to make sure any init blocks are completing successfully?
Either persmissions have changed or group memebership is not completing.

Yes, with the credentials of the account that the media/content was purchased with.
Content is permanently tied to the account it is purchased with and cannot be merged, moved, or transferred to another account.

Can't format HHD drive with admin User

I'm login on admin user, but can't format my HHD to clean install., I have an installer USB with OS X Mountain Lion, when restart (even in root user) in the disk utility, can't erase or make a new partition to format the hard drive.
In the pict you can see the system can't let me even change login in admin user.

Can't connect to VPN in Admin User account

I have two users in my MacBook Pro (Late 2011) with 10.8.2.
I can only connect to my VPN only in the second user account instead of the Admin account.
When I try to connect to my VPN in the admin user, it doesn't seem to have any connection between my computer and the VPN.
The Message I got is "The PPTP-VPN" server did not respond. Try reconnecting. If the problem continues, verify your settings and contact your Administrator."

Any suggestions ?

Migrating custom excel macros

Hi Everyone. I am currently migrating from XP to Win 7 replacements and refreshes. Everything is going swell except macros are not coming over during the replacements. We are using sccm 2012 r2 cu1.
Can someone suggest a solution?

How can I lock access to Firefox so that only I can fo on the internet and not other users of my computer?

I have a computer which I let several other people use, but I don't want them to have access to the internet. I would like to see if there is a "lock" choice so that no one else can access the internet - or another means? I've tried to select "Lock" to the whole computer (when it gives you the "lock," "shut down," "sleep," etc. choices - and it says the computer is locked but the next time I try it it opens the computer (and internet) just like it never was "locked" so I don't even know how to effectively lock the whole computer either as a second option to block access ot the internet!

I had the same problem (issue with Google Apps and XUL runner etc) of needing to downgrade. To pull it off I went to the main Firefox download page (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/new/) and followed the link to OTHER SYSTEMS AND LANGUAGES which took me to a page that included a link on the right hand side to download Firefox 3.6.16.
(The stuff below pertains to Windows. If you are on a different OS your steps will vary)
To do the actual downgrade (and there may be some other steps that would be wise to take but this is what worked for me) I merely renamed "c:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox" to "c:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox bad" (in case I want to try troubleshooting the issue later) and then ran the "Firefox Setup 3.6.16.exe" file that downloaded from that link. That solved my problem and I'm back and running 3.6.16.
In case you don't feel comfortable changing things in your Program Files directory you might try a different approach and try uninstalling via the Control Panel and Add and Remove Programs (or whatever it is called on the version of Windows you are on) and then running the installation file. I didn't go that route so I can't tell you how well that might work.

My iWeb site can not be opened by many windows users only macs.

My iWeb site should open for all platforms = How to do?
I am also confused about compatability of my hard work and new iWeb sites (I love the iWeb App yet i got 4 family members all in different locations in the USA who run windows ....tell me that they could not open the web site which I announced via email.) Other Mac users did reply back saying it opened fine.
Please send me a way to enable my work to open or if u must please tell me if the windows users need a RSS Reader and or .Mac accounts and or iTunes etc etc ...I wish to feel like the work I do on my Mac is compatable for all. As is Apple continues to isolate others and will include others only if they switch....
Hey Macs are great so why not attract others with a platform that just includes all. Noone wants to enter a beautiful garden if the path to it is filled with thorns and at entrance others find a closed gate which reads You are not welcome.... that aint right and I'm a dumb bell old Dad who thought finally I was creating a web page that all could visit.

I think my iWeb site works as Noone has said otherwise from any platform etc...

I do agree that should not have to be a consideration for any users so i agree that it would be great if Apple could allow simplicity to run seemlessly.
I have had this problem since Homepage, and here is
what has worked for me. I send out the link, and
then for PC users I send the link with "<" after the address (without quotation
marks. e.g., <http://site.com>).
I also put a note that if that doesn't work, to just
copy and paste the link into a browser. With that I
have only had 1 person say they still can't open.
Everyone else gets it to work.
It's a lot to do and seems like a hassle, but you get
used to it.

Can't Connect to wireless- new mac user!

I just purchased a MacBook and trying to connect to my house's wireless internet. My network showed up on the list and I typed in the password a million times and it says incompatible security and everywhere else I tried it told me I might have typed in something wrong. I was on the phone with apple for an hour and finally the guy came to the conclusion that something might be wrong with the AirPort card, but I'm not convinced. Is there something wrong with the wireless router or...

I am here seeking the same answer. I have cable at the house and DSL at work. I can use my Mac on the wireless network at work but at home I receive the same response "Incompatable security. I have had the cable set up for some months and always had trouble with it disconnecting, now this new problem started just a few days ago and it has me stumped. Any suggestions? Thanks.
