Custom fit bug?

First off, I really like being able to add bookmarks. This feature should really be in Adobe Reader too.
I just tried DE and when setting custom fit to 100%, then resizing the window, the custom fit popup still shows the pdf as being 100%, even though the pdf clearly is not.
Is there any way to lock the zoom at 100% ?

No, there is no way to lock it. It is an interesting idea, but might lead to some curious UI issues. We will log this idea for consideration. Thanks for the suggestion!

FRAME FITTING BUG? Indesign CC

I think this has been covered before for Indesign CS 6. (Re: Indesign CS6 Frame Fitting Options bug?)
I have this same bug in CC. We have recently moved from 5.5 to CC and it's causing a major issue. I do comic strip and multiple place comic strip pages into full page frames that have been set via frame fitting to being centred. Except it won't centre the images. See the CS 6 discussion above for more specifics.
Is there a work around yet for CC or is is still broken since CS6?! It's costing me money as i cannot go back to cs 5.5.

FCPX "Retime to fit" bug

Hello.
I noticed a bug in new feature called "Replace and retime to fit". In my case I have some images on timeline with simple crossfade transition between them. If I want to replace one of images, I drug new one from Event library to timeline, drop it on old image and choose "Replace and retime to fit" option from pop-up menu. As expected, new image replaces old one and streches in/out to be exactly same duration as old one. But this scenario happens only if I have no transitions. If I have transition, strange things hapens: new image doesnt stretch (and its duration seems to be default FCPX duration for images), "in" transition moves on place of "out" transition and timeline become messed up, because new image's duration change move all other clips and brake all timings.
Now I have to put markers on audio line in places where transitions borders are, then do retime to fit, then manually move transitions to their places according to markers. Its a little bit annoing and spends a lot of time.
Do you have same bug? Or any ideas why its happening and how to fix it?

The more I investigate the worse it gets. Here are a few further observations:
When used locally my test page behaves as previously described except that I am now aware that Mozilla browsers print
the first page cropped as intended but fail to acknowledge the existence of anything cropped from the right. Internet
Explorer 5.2 is the only browser of mine which always behaves correctly in this respect in that it will print all four
pages if instructed to do so.
The online behaviour of iCab 4.2.0 is even more bizarre and undesirable than its local behaviour. It only prints a small
fraction of the page. So far my tests indicate that Safari, Camino, Firefox 3 and Internet Explorer 5.2 behave in the same way online as they do locally.
I have not printed every combination of pages - I have relied upon Preview to show what will be printed - however
the 20 prints I have done indicate that this method of testing is satisfactory.
I am using OS X 10.5.5 on a G4. In general all browser settings are similar - 100%, no headers/footers, minimum borders
etc - iCab margins are all set to 12pt (without this setting the combination of iCab and my LaserWriter 16/600 lose an
indeterminate amount of data around the edges.

JDev903 custom tag (bug?)-JDev Team please respond

JDeveloper is continually hanging while working with custom tags. For example, I will select Add Tag and nothing will happen and JDeveloper stops responding. If I go to End Task, I am told that JDeveloper is waiting for a response, but by then JDev is just a gray window. This behavior becomes more frequent after a change, i.e. change a tag name, try to delete a tag or library. In fact, I have had to completely start over in the creation of a tag library when I notice a necessary change within a tag due to the hanging and disappearance of menu items. Please look into this issue. Our team feels that custom tags could be a valuable tool, but we are RAPID and we don't have time to constantly shut-down and restart our IDE.

One thing to try would be JPublisher from the command line. If your problem persists with JPublisher from the command line, then the bug needs to be filed against that product. If not, then the problem is with us.
In either case, please post your code so we can try to reproduce the error.
The JPublisher command line facility is documented in the JPublisher User's Guide, available from the Oracle8i 8.1.6 documentation pages on OTN.

Firefox Custom Theme Bug/Error

Applying any custom themes hide the Minimize, Restore up/down & Close buttons when we ‘Restore Down’ the Firefox window, but those buttons continue to work though. I often accidently close the Firefox window when in Restore Down mode/ Half Screen mode, closing out all the tabs I left open when I try to minimize Firefox, because I can’t see them. Please tell me how to solve this bug & how to report this to the Firefox developers?

Illustrator CC custom fit print doesn't work

This is a serious workflow disruption: In CSx I could open any file, choose a print preset, click on 'custom' for Media Size and it would automatically adjust the print width and height to whatever the artwork boundaries were (Ignore Artboards ✓'d). Now in CC it just uses whatever I had set for the print preset when I created it rather than adjusting like bfore. Is there something I'm overlooking? Can/will this be fixed? This might sound like small pease compared to the overall view, but this makes a design that would normally take a few seconds to print to our screens to almost half a minute.

Custom Realm Bug in WebLogic SP3?

I recently upgraded WebLogic 6.1 from SP1 to SP3 and am now
receiving a ClassCastException when invoking the checkPermission
method on a Custom realm ACL that extends weblogic.security.acl.AclImpl.
This code worked fine in SP1. It seems that other developers
have experienced this problem when applying service packs to
WebLogic 5. Any one else encountering this problem with
WebLogic 6 and what is the workaround? (Stack trace attached)

I was unable to determine the cause of the problem, but I was
able to identify that AclImpl was changed between SP1 and SP3.
I updated SP3's weblogic.jar with the weblogic.security.acl.AclImpl
class in the weblogic.jar from SP1 and the exception went away.
I did not see anything in the release notes for SP2 and SP3
that indicate what may have changed. Does anyone know?

Custom itemRenderer - Bug?

Hi, I have an example of some code that I can't figure out.
What I'm doing may not be the best way to do what I want, but I
believe is should work, and can't figure out why it doesn't. I have
a datagrid with two columns, and the second column uses a custom
itemRenderer to draw multiple circles depending on nested XML data
for that row. In the
set data function of my itemRenderer, I'm trying to get the
width of the column, and use that to calculate where to put my
circle, as a value of 1 to 10.
- The first time, the
set data is called four times where there are three rows
- The first time it's called, this.width is zero
- When resizing column widths, set data is called again - the
first time only for the 2nd and 3rd rows, but with the correct
width
- Subsequent times it's called for all three rows, but the
first row uses the LAST width, not the new width
Any ideas? Here's my code:

A complete runnable example, that's great, I will give it a
try.
In the meantime, for "...set data is called four times where
there are three rows...", I have noticed this as well but have no
explanation. The first time, the "value" object is "null", so I
always wrap the code in if (value != null) {}

Can we Debug an AuditReport for a pissed off customer HUGE BUG IN IDM AUDIT

Daily and Weekly Audit Reports return java.lang.NullPointer exception Error message.
Unsurprisingly the customer is unimpressed.
I find it impossible to find any documented method to trace what is happening once we fill in the form and start the AuditLog task.
The customer goes to Admin page, pushes the "Run" button next to Todays Activity and he gets the NullPointer error. WTF.
THIS IS A MASSIVE ERROR IN IDM. HOW CAN A IDM SYSTEM WRITE DATA TO AN AUDIT LOG WHICH IT CANNOT THEN READ???
If there was a way, ANY WAY, to find out what is the bad "object" causing this Nullpointerexception on an AuditLog I would be happy to hear.
User reports are no problem as we can readily write our own WorkFlows which exit gracefully on unexpected events. But AuditLogs are what customer relies on.

Can Macbook internal parts be custom fit into an empty 12" Powerbook shell?

I have a love-hate relationship with my new Macbook. It's very fast and I now have Tiger, etc., but the size, shape and keyboard are awful for me.
As an older woman who hunts and pecks, the Powerbook keyboard was just the right size and "feel" for my hands. Also, I could clearly see the black letters.
The Macbook keys are spaced too far apart for my fingers, they feel funny, and I can't read the light gray against white lettering.
If I can't get someone to squeeze this into my beloved 12" Powerbook, can I at least switch the key plates that you press on between the two? Maybe there are key letter stickers with large letters on them that I can get...??

Unfortunately, it is nearly impossible to do what you want to do. The PowerBook and MacBook have virtually no common components between them. Your best bet may be simply to get a USB keyboard. Another option may be to switch to a black MacBook... the keys are white lettering on black keys... very easy to read. While it would be an unusual request, I don't see any technical reason why Apple wouldn't be able to fit your white MacBook with a black keyboard. Perhaps if you explain your situation to them, they can work something out.

You are right, theer are some changes incorporated in the latest MLR # 16 on the configurations files and on the dehydration store metrics(such as performance, fields,..).
However, I would not suggest to continue working on olite, even for Development/Test purposes as you might get stuck with strange errors...and the only solution would be to re-install SOA Suite if your olite gets corrupted. There might be ways to gets your olite back to position, but trust me..its not so simple.
Also, when you develop and stress test all your testcase scenarios in an TEST Adv installation, its simple to mimic the same in actual production box, as you exactly know its behavior.
So, go for a brand new SOA 10.1.3.4 MLR # 5 (or) 10.1.3.3.1 MLR # 16 SOA Suite Advanced installation with Oracle DB 10.2.0.3 as its dehydration store.

Tab between custom meta columns in the project panel

If you've got a custom meta column in the project panel and you use are editing the previous column and then use the keyboard tab key to move to the next column (the custom meta field), that column is selected but not you can't edit it with out clicking in it with the mouse. This is not the case with built in meta columns such as the "comment" field.
Does anyone know of any way to tab into a custom meta field and then have a further keyboard shortcut that puts the field into edit mode?

Ok, found the answer already. Tab and then tab a second time.
Obviously this seems wrong and would be better if the first tab allowed you to edit immediately.
UPDATE: Spoke too soon. This is definitely a buggy mess. Sometime tabbing into a custom field makes it editable immediately. Other times, a second tab makes the field editable, sometime the second tab just moves you to the next field. And there seems to be no pattern, I can tab and shift-tab back and forth between custom fields and the behave seems to change at random. I'll log it as another custom meta bug!

Bugs in P6.2

While there are some nice usability enhancement in the new P6.2 I am surprised at the number of issues and recognized bugs the software was released with. While I am open to using workarounds, often there are none. Hoping that most / all are resolved soon.

"Maybe the company intends to use customer found bugs as a free development resource?" - I wouldnt mind that so much if they did something about it.
Trying to get users converted over from Spreadsheets, MS Project into Primavera Web as a single repository of portfolio data is still a great idea - but it makes the process much harder. For instance, you hit Schedule and the whole thing scrolls to the top, making even medium sized schedules unmanageable. At the same time they advertize that P6.2 web can now handle 15000 lines. Or for instance, the fact that changes are deleted when you violate a certain condition, with no recourse to fix the error. With regard to Primavera P6.2 Web - it clearly demonstates an over-obessesion with including more features as opposed to releasing quality features. I really doubt they even have a formal test group, never mind a user -focussed one.
I am a long time user and comments are with the sole intention that Primavea takes steps to fix errors that should really not exist in a released product. Perhaps they should do beta releases?

Apply custom name not working correctly

Wow... I am beginning to lose hope, again, that FCPX will ever be relatively bug free.
When applying custom clip names in 10.1, the software is very buggy and gets some things flat wrong. For example, if you create a custom clip name with a counter, and you apply that to a set of clips, it doesn't show that change in the even browser unless you hit apply twice. Then you see what you expect, but as soon as you click in the browser, the names change to a counter collection that starts counting with the lowest number in the new sequence starting at the next number in the sequence from the original set. Hard to explain, but if you have 5 clips, and you start from 1, then on first click there is no change to the clip names, on second click you get a sequence starting from 1 and ending at 5 (what you want), but when you click on the event browser the clip names change from 1 - 5 to 6 - 10, presumably because you had to hit the button twice in the first place. That's rediculous.
Also, applying orginal camera name doesn't work correctly for all clips.
Also, saving new custom names with names (changing from "untitled" to a name like "outside sequence #") works intermitently.
This reminds me of the old custom naming bugs in 10.03 - .06. Come on, Apple. Does anyone test this stuff before it's released?

Correct. But the behavior I describe is correct too. And one people should be aware of as they are likely to encounter this if they don't do as you described, click off the clips, but instead hit the apply custom name button more than once. Buggy

How does everyone else fit all their Logic stuff into a 2-screen setup?

Logic 8 comes with a beautiful setup for fitting all of the display information in one monitor, but are there any custom fit, default set-ups for a dual monitor set-up? Or do I have to make my own. Any suggestions out there for a work flow as intuitive as the one window interface that locks so well into one full screen's space? I've got two 19" (non-widescreen) Samsung's that I am looking to utilize. How did everyone else set themselves up?

Most of the time I keep an arrange window on one display (full screen), and use the other display for one of the other window types, depending on what I'm doing: piano roll, sample editor, or mixer, typically. I keep the sample editor or piano roll linked to the arrange window so that it gives me a picture of whatever I've selected in the arrange window.
On a few occasions I've found it handy to have two arrange windows, one on each display, with different zoom levels. If I have a bunch of region editing to do, for example, it can be easier to do big navigation moves in the zoomed-out arrange window and detailed stuff in the zoomed-in one.
