Custom Formatting using narratives

Hi,
I am tying to create a report that will display a "quote" based on data from an opportunity. I am using narrative sections that contain custom HTML to handle the layout of the report.
This method works fine when viewing the report on line but if i try to print as PDF all the HTML formatting, including my table structure disappears and the text is just displayed as one long string?
Does anybody know if i can retain my formatting when printing narrative sections to PDF? or do i need to try the "PDF print driver" approach suggested in another thread on this forum?
Thanks

To date this is considered a product limitation. I just talked with an escalation manager and he offered to bring this up with the product managers/engineers tomorrow 5/15/09. I recommend escalating this issue and asking your escalation manager to do the same.

  • Add '+' to all positive numbers using custom format

    I am a whiz at Excel but took the plunge for Numbers recently. Many things I cannot figure out how to do, but the current one is, I want some cells to always show + and - for the integers. So, things like:
    +9
    -5
    +14
    etc.
    How do I set that up? My feeble attempts so far make negative numbers appear with both.

    In the custom format window,
    1) Click the plus sign.
    2) Choose "if greater than 0"
    3) Click in the new format line then use the left arrow to get to the left of what's already there
    4) Type a +
    5) If you want the format to be integers, skip this step. If you want decimal places then drag the decimal format up from below and drop one on the right of the original format and one on the right of your new format. Choose how many decimals you want for each. Choose to show trailing zeros if you want them.
    6) Click OK

  • How to Concatenate Date in T-SQL using custom format?

    Hi:
    I have a column in SQL Server 2008 R2, [ENTERED_DATE].  This is a datetime, formatted like so:
    2011-01-25 07:32:21.000
    I need to display this as:  2011-01-01, where the DAY always = 01.
    I've tried all manner of CAST, CONVERT, concatenate, etc.
    I don't really want to CONVERT from datetime, just display in a custom format.
    Thanks!

  • Date not being displayed in the custom format

    Hi ,
      I have a problem wherein i am unable to change the format of the date.
    I need the date to be in the format 'January 10,2010.' however the date is being displayed as '1/10/10'. I have tried all options for the date formatting. I specified the custom format as 'MMMM D,YYYY' as mentioned in the SAP Library. I am trying to use the std custom options like YYYY-MM-DD, the date is not being dispalyed in the custom format provided by SAP either.
    I have binded date from the context, used the Current Date field provided by SAP.  Nothing works.
    Its not working on the new form. However the old forms have the same kind of formatting and are being displayed as desired.
    Please suggest as to what the issue could be.
    Thanks,
    Soumya.

    Hi All,
    Even I'm encountering the same issue. I'm trying to control the outputted date format programmatically.Please have a look.
    data: v_int_date like sy-datum,
            v_ext_date(10).
    v_int_date = '20110201'
    write v_int_date to v_ext_date MM/DD/YYYY.
    Here I've tried to convert the date to external format using a fixed format(MM/DD/YYYY). But still it's getting outputted in the format DD/MM/YYYY only as that's the way its defined in the User Master!
    Is there any solution for this? How can I 'override' defaults in the SAP User Master?
    Thanks,
    Mahesh

    Here is what you need to do.
    Start by writing the SQL query that you want.
    Clone one of the existing report
    Replace the SQL query with the new query.
    Update the columns with what you need.

  • How to get custom formating to show in export as HTML CS4

    Using a copy of CS4, I am exporting an indesign document that has custom formated words. That is some words are italicized and don't conform to the paragraph style (I have to do this as I get all my documents from Microsoft Word Files). The italicized text shows up as a paragraph style such as "BodyText+" where the normal text is "BodyText". Manually applying a character style to all the italicized text would be impossible.
    How can I export as html in this case? Is there a way to format all BodyText+ with a special character style?

    Well I guess the find/replace all seems to have set the character styles in the InDesign document, but, it makes no difference in the html output
    It still looks like <p class="body-bodytext">nonitalics italics</p>.
    Does anybody know how to make it do something like this:
    <p class="body-bodytext">nonitalics <span ="italics_character_style"> italics</span></p> ?
    I can write the post processing stuff as long as it somehow notes the difference

  • Opening an Excel file with custom formatting while BEx is open

    Hi,
    we just noticed something pretty weird (first time I see it in my carreer). One of the end users had BEx open (just launched the BEx Analyzer without actually opening a query/workbook) and tried to open one of her "own" Excel sheets out of Explorer.
    The file opened but all of a sudden the custom formatted currency fields changed from US$ amounts to DM amounts??? I assume DM stands for Deutsche Mark (a currency which has not been in use for about 9 years I believe). This "custom" format seems to only appear when BEx is opened. End user has Excel03 with BI AddOn 7.X Support Package 8, Patch 1, Revision 1443. When I do this on my own pc (I have Excel07 and the same BI AddOn), I get exactly the same behavior, be it a bit slower (I can see the file opening with $ amounts which slowly change to DM amounts). There are no macro's in the Excel workbook (was one of my first checks). I also tried opening the file from within Excel, but it gives the same weird behavior. Next check was to open a BI report first (so there was no empty BEx session) and then open the file in Excel... still the same.
    Ok, then I assumed it would use some kind of "marker" to point to the correct entry in the list of custom formats, but even that is not true. In the original file (opened in Excel when BEx is not open), it takes position 43. If I open the file while BEx is open, it takes position 49.
    Did anyone experience this before?
    Cheers,
    RafB

    Hi,
    you are using BI Frontend SP 801 and the next available Frontend SP should provide a fix for the issue. I would recommend to install Frontend SP 902, the latest one. Note [1294215|http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1294215] describes the issue and refers to Frontend SP 900.

  • Payment Medium Workbench - Custom Format

    Hi ,
    We are in the middle of a global implementation. In our project we would be using Payemnt medium workbench to generate the payment run files from transaction F110. The Bank we will be dealing would require a custom format of MT101 for modification of few values. The changes would be the modules for Event 20 and 30.
    We went ahead and implemented the chnges by copying the FM - FI_PAYMEDIUM_MT101_20 and FI_PAYMEDIUM_MT101_30 and added them to the configuration using OBPM1.
    We are facing some issues and wanted to debug the code. Even after putting a hard BREAKPOINT in the code the program runs without stopping and is generating a payment medium file without stopping at the breakpoints.
    Is there a way in the process flow of F110 that we can but a breakpoint and debug it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Arunava

    The job for generating DME file is launched in background by F110, so you don't have any breakpoint. The generated job contains program SAPFPAYM_SCHEDULE. Run this program SAPFPAYM_SCHEDULE by yourself in foreground and you will see have the breakpoints.

  • Adding a currency in numbers missing custom format option

    I just paid for numbers latest version June 2012. iPad 3' v5.1.1.     Want to format a cell as a currency not in the little list chosen by apple.  Forums suggest using the custom format option but I can not see this anywhere?  Any ideas how to add a custom format or how to extend the list of currencies to all currencies. If nothing else missing out a countries currency as too unimportant to include is just plain rude!

    1) You posted to the Numbers on Mac OS X forum ( Apple Support Communities > iWork > Numbers >   Discussions ).  The iWork for iOS forum is more likely to provide the direct answer...
       it is here:  https://discussions.apple.com/community/app_store/iwork_for_ios
    2) you can add custom formats (demonstrating from Numbers for Mac OS X) by opening the cells inspector:
    Then naming the new format and setting the parameters of the format:
    If the currency symbol is not in the list then you can preceed (or follow) the value with the proper symbol:
    I decided to demonstrate this by showing a preceeding infinity sign before the amount:

  • How to make custom format mask?

    Hi all,
    i'm working in application using Hijri Dates ( ex : 01/01/1434 ) .
    the data stored in the following format (ex : 01011434 ) .
    to display data i made java method to make format then in viewRowImpl then pass the getAttributeInternal to the method
    public static  String formatHijriDate(String val)
    try
    return val.substring(6,8)+"/"+val.substring(4,6)+"/"+ val.substring(0,4);
    catch(Exception ex)
    return " ";
    is there is a way to make declarative custom format mask to easy my task to format the Hijri dates ?

    can you try to create a transient SQL attribute in the view object
    to_date(Hijri_Date_String, 'ddmmyyyy')

  • Add (concatenate) a string to the end of a numerical field value (custom format script)?

    Hello All!
    1) I have a form field where a customer can input mileage (e.g. 48,000)
    I would like to be able to dynamically place the comma in the proper place as well as add " miles" to the end of the value the user input.
    For example:
    If the user types "123456" into the field, I would like for it to display as "123,456 miles"
    I assume this will require some custom format javascript... I'm familiar with the general syntax of JavaScript, but don't really know specific keywords/object names to use, I have a few custom calculation scripts in the form, and I've done some simple thing like concatenate two fields into one, etc.
    But this is a little different, because I'm only working with data from one field. I tried:
    event.value += " miles";
    However, this causes " miles" to get added everytime ANY field changes... so I end up getting "123,456 miles miles miles miles" as the user makes changes to other fields.
    2) Also, to further complicate things, is it possible to "remove" the custom formatting when the field gains focus? For example, if you use Acrobat's default number format ($1,394.00) on a field, when the user selects that field to edit the value, the formatting "disappears" so that the user would only see "1394".
    I would like to achieve the same with my custom field, so when the user selected the field that displays "123,456 miles" to change the value, they would only see/edit "123456"
    A bit wordy, I know, but thanks for any help!

    Here's a simple way. Begin by creating a new document-level JavaScript and include the following code:
    function my_format() {
        // Format number (no decimal point, comma thousands separator, etc.)
        AFNumber_Format(0, 0, 0, 0, "", false);
        // Add " miles" if there is an entry
        event.value = event.value ? event.value + " miles" : "";
    function my_keystroke() {
        // Restrict entry to characters consistent with a number
        AFNumber_Keystroke(0, 0, 0, 0, "", false);
    For the field in question, add the following as the custom Format script:
    my_format();
    and the following as the custom Keystroke script:
    my_keystroke();

  • How to process Customer format parameters with Payment Medium Workbench

    Hi
    I have one bank transfer scenario PC00_M99_FPAYM requiring supplying a payment using the French format FR_ETEBAC_CRT_DOM but the execution date of the bank transfer should be replaced by the banku2019s value date. I planned to enter this required date using the Customer format parameters when running PMW.
    The issue I tried to solve is described here below.
    How to extract the Customer format parameters assigned to the payment medium format FR_ETEBAC_VRT_DOM when processed by the Payment medium Workbench in order to fill the Customer specific user-defined fields (ZREF01 to ZREF10 in structure FPAYHX)?
    I noticed the event type 06 authorizes function modules similar like FI_PAYMEDIUM_SAMPLE_06 but the customer format parameters are only available at low level in function module FI_PAYM_MEDIUM_OPEN (example gc_format_params_c)
    Can someone help on this matter?  That would be great.
    Thanks in advance,
    Henri.

    Just sharing my findings and proposed solution.
    This worked
    The expected date is the value date/payee's bank.
    This date is created by the bank transfer program prior to be processed by Payment Medium Creation Tool (SAPFPAYM)
    According to functional investigation it sounds like the bank transfer program does not allow working with the value date/payee's bank.
    The investigation has been done in the Payment Medium Creation Tool. It allows adding the required value date/payee's bank into a customer format parameter.
    Required configuration and development:
    - Clone the current sap format FR_ETEBAC_VRT-DOM into a new Customized format ZFR_ETEBAC_VRT-DOM
    - Clone the corresponding DMEE object FR_ETEBAC_VRT-DOM into a new DMEE object tree type PAYM ZFR_ETEBAC_VRT-DOM
    - Create a new data structure: ZFR_Bank_Transfer with field CRVAL Value Date at Payee's Bank (comp type PRQ_CRVAL)
    - Assign customer structure ZFR_Bank_Transfer to payment format ZFR_ETEBAC_VRT-DOM and declare field CRVAL as required field
    - Build function module ZFI_PAYMEDIUM_06_FR in charge to extract value date/payee's bank from the customer structure and move it to the customer specific user-defined field ES_FPAYHX_CREF-ZREF01
    -  in new DMEE object tree type PAYM ZFR_ETEBAC_VRT-DOM Replace Source field FPAYH-ZALDT by FPAYHX-ZREF01 in the header record

  • Converting Sequence (XML format presaved) to my CUSTOM format?

    Hi Experts!
    I need Teststand Style Sheet for  XML. (e.g. TAGS explanation when you saved your sequence in XML's format)
     For example when I saved TestStand's sequence at XML format previously I got: _____________________________________________________________ Main classname='Objs' valueflags='4194304'><value lbound='[0]' ubound='[]'/></Main><Setup classname='Objs' valueflags='4194304'><value lbound='[0]' ubound='[]'/></Setup><Cleanup classname='Objs' valueflags='4194304'><value lbound='[0]' ubound='[]'/></Cleanup><GotoCleanupOnFail classname='Bool' valueflags='4194312'><value>false</value></GotoCleanupOnFail><RecordResults classname='Bool' valueflags='4194312'><value>true</value></RecordResults> _____________________________________________________________ I would like to know what EVERY of tags (<value>,<Main>,<GotoCleanupOnFail> ….and many others) means??? e.g. you can say that <value> is a tag that responsible for the LOOP value.    I need to deal with tags because I want from the present XML saved sequence to build my custom sequence in my CUSTOM format (e.g. TO CONVERT TestStand’s sequence to other format)
    Any ideas? any suggestions?
    Thank you!!!
    Thank you & Best Regards
    *I use LabVIEW 8.X & TestStand 3.5/4.0.1 versions only
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    TestStand does not support saving sequence files in other formats than the predefined formats (ini, binary and xml). So you have two different choices:
    a) Write a tool which converts one of the sequence file types into your custom format. This enables you to export the sequence to custom tools, but needs quite some work.
    b) Use "Sequence File Translator".  You can find info on this in the TestStand Reference Manual in chapter 15.
    Regarding b) i want to tell you some more things here in this post:
    - You can use it only to important any format into TestStand, not the other way round. So this is designed for customers who create sequences outside of TestStand but want to use it in TestStand for execution.
    - It requires the knowledge of the file layout you want to convert. You have write an DLL as described in the manual.
    - Changes done to the sequence within TestStand will never be saved back into the original file. You can save the sequence in a new TestStand sequence file though.....
    hope this helps,

  • Document custom format changes for every report

    HI Experts,
    We have been developing no of reports for a day using WEBI Rich Client. In our reports we have few measures which are holding decimal values which are not displaying when user creates a new report as per standard number format there is no decimal values.
    We select each column of that measures and create custom format as "#,###.##" and add it.  But ! when user creates a new report, that created report doesn't have previously created custom format to display deciamal values.
    Is there anyway that we can create custom format and make it permenent and as a default.
    Regards,
    Suresh

    Amr's suggestion is right.
    By the way ... if desired number format is not displayed when you use the option Object Format->Number check in Universe Designer menu Tools->Options Language and check Migration Forced checkbox.
    Sometimes happens that there is no #,##0.00 format but  #.##0,00 and that's because of the language used for the universe, I guess.
