Hello, it looks as if your custom-function configuration isn't quite right.
For example, if you're running against 10.1 Java OWD this might be your configuration file where the "class" attribute points to your Handler not just the package:
<configuration>
<custom-function platform="Java"
library-path="ExampleCustomFunction.jar"
class="com.example.MyCustomFunctionHandlerClass"/>
</configuration>
What version are you using? ex. 10.1 / 10.2 / .net / Java?

  • SSRS - Pass Field Value List To Custom Function Assembly And Display Result

    I have written a SQL Server Reporting Services custom function as a C# assembly DLL and added it to my report. The purpose of the function is to search for outlier records in a collection of data. The data is represented as an array of floating point -tuplets
    (float[][]). In a medical patient database, these might be things such as blood pressure, cholesterol, hight, weight, waist measurement, etc.
    Several user input parameters are provided in the report, including numeric seed values for this particular algorithm. One multivalued parameter is a list of the numeric columns to be used as input to the algorithm because, importantly,
    the user can choose any subset of the value columns. I have a tablix that will display columns from the dataset conditionally, based on which of those columns are chosen.
    At this point, there are two issues I'm having difficulty with:
    How do I, in the course of running the report, take just the numeric columns that the user has chosen (ignoring all others in the dataset) and pass them as a float[][] to my custom function? Or is there something in the
    Microsoft.ReportingServices namespace that I should use to query an input dataset and convert it to an array in my C# code?
    How can I present the array subset returned by my custom function in a tablix in the report?
    Note: One thought that occurs to me is that outlier records tablix could be contained in a subreport, but I'm not clear on the logistics of passing dataset field results from a master report to a subreport.
    I envision a final report when run to be similar to the following:
    - Mark Z.

    Hi Mark,
    Sorry for the delay.
    From your description, you want to pass the dataset data to a custom code array, and return the subset of the array, right? In this case, you can use a custom function to add the data to array, and use the a custom function to sort the data base on your
    requirement and then use a function to get the subset of the array. Here are some sample custom code for your reference.
    Add to arryay
    Dim values As System.Collections.ArrayList=New System.Collections.ArrayList()
    Function SetText(ByVal value As Integer) As Integer
        values.Add(value)
        return value
    End Function
    Sort array
    Function Sort()
    Dim i as Integer
    Dim j as Integer
    Dim t as Integer
    Dim n as Integer=values.Count-1
    For i=n To 1 Step-1
     For j=0 To i-1
     if values(j)<values(j+1) Then
        t=values(j)
        values(j)=values(j+1)
        values(j+1)=t
     End if
     Next j
    Next i
    End Function
    Return value.
    Function Rank(ByVal value As Integer)
       return values(value)
    End Function
    Assume that you pass [Weight] field to array, you can use the expression below on the Weight column:
    =Code.SetText(Fields!Weight.Value)
    Then use the expression below to get the values.
    PatientID:=Sort() & Lookup(Code.Rank(0),Fields!Weight.Value,Fields.Patient.Value,"Dataset")
    Height:=Lookup(Code.Rank(0),Fields!Weight.Value,Fields.Height.Value,"Dataset")
    Weight:=Code.Rank(0)
    Hope this helps.

  • Custom function call results in 403 Forbidden error

    Hi,
    I use an custom function to show images from blob columns in a report (as shown in Re: How to Display image, that is stored in database This run fine with Apex 2.2.
    After a new installation on an other server - now with Apex 3.1 - everything is ok, but instead of the images only the broken image is displayed.
    Clicking on "show image" calls this URL http://-bla bla- /pls/htmldb6/UNTERSCHRIFTEN.uv_blob_download?p_file=1002401114659435
    and results in this error:
    You don't have permission to access /pls/htmldb6/UNTERSCHRIFTEN.uv_blob_download on this server.
    On the same Installation the sample application runs fine, also the images are displayed correctly. Also the "show image" call http://- bla bla -/pls/htmldb6/apex_util.get_blob_file?a=103&s=805871757194874&p=6&d=476144746179567984&i=176988523388974647&p_pk1=1&p_pk2=&p_ck=DE4CD5C7A077B26C18DDBF429D62F8D5
    works correct.
    I think there is something wrong with some settings.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks for your help,
    Frank

    Hello Vidar,
    I got it: The solution is in wwv_flow_epg_include_mod_local
    I had to put my function in here.

  • SIT on SSHR using custom function

    Dear Group,
    I am implementing SSHR for a customer, the customer needs to have some special request that need to be entered from SSHR then follow an approval path.
    So I have created a SIT and copy the original process using workflow and create a custom function in SSHR with different parameter for process and pCalledfrom.
    My problem is that the with I try to display my segment only it’s not getting displayed
    For example:
    SIT: XX_Ticket_Request
    Segments:
    No_Ticket_Request
    Ticket_Type
    In the personalization:
    In the segment field I wrote:
    XX_Ticket_Request|SEGMENT1| SEGMENT2| SEGMENT3|
    Nothing is displayed only start date and new date if I try to insert a new line the required segment are displayed.
    How I can display the required fields only. before insert mode.

    You need to use the name of the flex segments, not the columns, e.g.,:
    XX_Ticket_Request|No_Ticket_Request|Ticket_Type|
    Let us know if that works!

  • SSHR - Custom function keeps breaking!!

    My Private Vehicle custom functions keep breaking and I don't know why!!!
    When I say "custom", I am simply duplicating PQPVEHINFOPROCESS_MGR_SS and PQPVEHINFOPROCESS_SS and renaming them. I make the necessary amendments to the HTML Call and Parameters and they work perfectly but then when I have revisited the function as part of testing after a few weeks, they error!! This has happened three times now. Each time the solution has been to repeat the whole process.
    We have exclusive use of the environment and no patches/updates have been applied. No changes have been made to config/setup so I cannot understand why this is happening.
    Has anyone come across this before? The error does not occur with the seeded function. What am I doing wrong?

  • How do I delete a custom function in SSHR?

    I have duplicated the seeded SS Vehicle Repository function and renamed it. I amended the OAFunc= in the HTML call to reflect the new name and pCalledFrom= parameter. Unfortunately, this is throwing up an error.
    Ideally, I would like to delete the function I created and start again, but the Delete button is greyed out.

    Hello,
    You should be able to delete custom function from "Form Functions" form in System Administrator. Make sure you remove the respective function from all the menus including the "Global Self Service Functions Custom"

  • Function result as an item for another function.

    I have a report that has a field A(number) which is the result of a custom function. My next field B needs to sum up all these results i.e. sum of field A grouped by certain field. Another field C needs to divide field B by a calculated number etc.
    Because I can't choose function result as an Item, I'd have to recalculate for field B, and again for field C etc, which degrades performance.
    Any ideas on how to tackle this problem?

    Dear Peter,
    Does this amount appear as an amount in your GL and missing in your Asset Accounts, or vice versa.
    Please, do check if there are any manual postings performed from FI, not from the depreciation program.
    They will disappear from ABST2 when you reverse them from FI.

  • Create a Time Management Custom Function in PE04

    Hi Experts
                  Pls give the steps to create a custom function in Time Management using PE04,
    whta is purpose of using infotype in PE04 , what are the input parametr and output paramaete . What are the intrnal table available in custom function . How we can test the custom function .
    Thansk and regards
    Renjith MP

    No idea on how to set.
    But in our case, we have a requirement for calculation of GOSI for our Bahrani Employees. Hence did the same using by creating a FUNCTION ZGOSI.
    We have not given any input or output parameters.
    Used a Z program for payroll driver RPCALCX0 -- ZSH_GOSI_CALC and the calculations are taken from this program and output is displayed in the RT table- Wage types.
    For more information, check with functions of infotype like P0014, P0015, you will get some idea on the same.
    Before giving the above, need to mention the parameter list for control.
    Mostly the input parameters are given as Objects like in our Payroll Process, there is WPBP table and output parameters the results to be displayed using object RT.
    Analyze more on the same and you will come to know.
    Good luck.

  • Custom Function Help

    Post Author: edy80y
    CA Forum: Formula
    I have a report with many subreports which all contain the same formula to group teams.When a new team is added i need to update all instances of the formula so they are all up to date.I know of Custom Function so i created one out of the formula in the main report.  The problem im finding is that im unable to use that custom function in the sub reports.Am i wring in thinking that a custom function created in a main report can be used in its sub reports??Am i creating the custom function incorrectly? Heres what i have done:
    Our database has team names that have a prefix of the State they are in such as: Perth - Team Orange Perth - Team Apple Sydney - Team Grape Sydney - Team Pineapple
    At one stage the Teams in Perth had been split into Perth1 and Perth2 resulting in the following records in the database:
    Perth1 - Team Orange Perth - Team Orange
    Because of this i have created a formula that groups teams into sites:
    select Trimleft(mid({team.name},instr({team.name},'-')+1))case 'Team Orange', 'Team Apple': 'Perth'case 'Team Grape', 'Team Pineapple': 'Sydney'default:''
    I use this formula in all reports and subreports and i link by them as well, so if a new team is created (for example Perth - Team Pear) i need toupdate all instances of the formula by adding 'Team Pear' to the Perth case.
    To fix the problem i created a custom function (called 'site') out of the formula above and it created this:
    Funtion (stringvar v1)select Trimleft(mid(v1,instr(v1,'-')+1))case 'Team Orange', 'Team Apple': 'Perth'case 'Team Grape', 'Team Pineapple': 'Sydney'default:''
    Now within that main report i am able to go to the formula editor and when i type site() then wording becomes blue but when i go into a sub report to do the same it doesnt react.
    I hope i have explained my self well enough for you to understand my predicament without boring you.
    Thanks in advance for your help!

    Hi,
    Thanks for the reply.  Unfortunately it does make things easy for me.  If i add the custom function in the subreport then i will have to updae that as well whenever a new team is created.  I'm looking for a solution where i only have to update the custom function in the main report only and not in the 7 or 8 subreports within it.
    Unless i am doing something wrong.  I basically copied the contecnt of the Custom Function in the main report and then went into the sub report and created a new Custom Function and pasted the code in it.

  • RPTIME00 - Custom Internal Table , Custom Clsuter in Custom Function.

    Hello Guru,
    I have a requirement to create custom scheme with totally new custom function , rules .
    my question is it is possible to declare custom internal tables like TIP, TOP and cutom cluster to store results.
    if yes then how ?
    Thanks in adance

    My requirement is based on a project to develop new sap product which can handle complex crew management for industries like railways and airlines,product is still in protoype phase and will basicaly cover right from dispatching crew to various sites to generating there payroll. standard sap works on basis of day and time. but crew industory work on trip. a crew for example pilot fly form point A to B get paid/claims based on on that single trip and whatever activities he has done in that trip. so purely this is based on trip and not day or hours, now we are thinking about using RPTIMEOO as a tool to calculate and create wage type beacuse at the end of the day payroll is getting generated in SAP and also all the crew employee will be setup as master data. this whole product will have its own screeen to capture activties and opereations . will be build on top of sap hcm.
    so was thinking any ways sap says that you can create custom schema and rules but those standard internal tables and cluster are of no use because of the structure is based in trip, wage type will be based in miles that crew travel.
    so trying to find how far this RPTIME00 is flexible .. and is possible to create custom function. becoz at end we are going to update payroll 2010 which can be mapped some how.  RPTIME00 can also give clients to add there own custom functions in future if any new req comes.
    if this is not possible i.e RPTIMEOO can not use custom cluster , then we might have to write abap programs ti do calculation but only problem any new features to be added will lead to code change.
    thanks for your patience ..

  • Batch Processor and Custom Functions

    Hi,
    We're using the 10.4.2 Batch Processor, connected to an Oracle 11g database to handle large amounts of data.
    Recently, four custom functions have been added to the rulebase. Nothing complicated, just some string manipulation stuff (trim whitespace etc.). Each function is just a few lines of fairly simple code. No database calls, no web service calls or anything like that. It stays within the Java jar file.
    Suddenly the processing time of the BP has gone up from a couple of minutes to well over an hour. The only change to the rulebase has been the addition of the functions, nothing else.
    It almost looks like the BP is initialising the custom functions with every case that's processed. If this is the case then this would be massively inefficient and as a result we would not be able to implement our new functions.
    Has anybody else come across this before?
    Regards,
    Evert

    EvertEvert,
    You are correct, it does initialise the custom function for every case that is processed. This is necessary as every case is a determinations engine session.
    However, you have control over how long the initialization process. If you make the time consuming parts of your custom function static, and then make the initialization fast, then you will get a much faster custom function call. The custom function code is entirely within your control and you can make it as fast as you like.
    Cheers

  • Need help in  Custom functions

    Hi all,
    I'm very eager to know about custom function which I never heard in any other BI tools.
    Can any body please explain ,
    How this custom functions work..?
    In which scenarios we will use them?
    Any example to use.
    If you have any documentation regarding this, pls share with us..
    Thank you,
    Krishna PIngali.

    Krishna,
    Custom Functions work just like any other built in function.
    They can be built using CR or Basic syntax.
    They can be very simple or extremely complex.
    The best time to use them (in my opinion) is when you have a lengthy formula that needs to be referenced multiple times... AKA code re-usability...
    A simple example: <Basic Syntax>
    Function AddTwoNumbers (Number1 As Number, Number2 As Number) As Number
    AddTwoNumbers = (Number1 + Number2)
    End Function
    Once the CF has been added to the report, it can be referenced like any other function...
    AddTwoNumbers(4,4)
    The result is 8

  • Custom function to return Record Selection Criteria

    <p>Here&#39;s what I need to do. There will be two prompts for range of dates; say, Begin date and End Date on almost all of the reports here. But it is not mandatory to enter Begin Date nor end date. So depending on the data the user enters we have to build the where clause.</p><p>So, to achive this I am trying to write a custom function which accepts the column name , and data from the parameters in the report. </p><p>my_func(col_nme, bgn_date, end_date) .. </p><p>This function does all the validations and returns a string depending on the data entered by the user. </p><p> Eg., if user entered only begin date then it will return col_nme <= bgn_date<br />      if user entered both dates then col_nme between bgn_date and end_date</p><p> And I am trying to user this complete clause in my record selection of the report. </p><p>In Record Selection call my_func({Query.Eff_date},p_bgn_date,p_end_date) </p><p>It is not accepting it since the function returns it as a string and the Reord selection should return a bolean. </p><p>Can any one let me know how to get this functionality in my report. </p><p>&#160;</p><p>ANy other suggestions to achieve this would be a great help<br />Thanks a lot in advance. </p>

    as long as you have discrete and multi values checked on for the parameter, the resulting array is all you need.
    In the RSF, the desired results will be returned by a REALLY simple boolean statement
    {table.field} in {?my param}
    "Like" may replace "in"Â for some cases.
    Try it, you'll like it. :)Â

  • Where to put custom function at?

    Let's say I make a custom function, do I make it a CFC or a tag?
    Here is some sample code (I put in bold my function call)
    <cfif IsDefined("form.submit")>
        <cfset data.comment = Trim(HTMLEditFormat(form.comment))>
        <cfset data.name = Trim(REReplace(form.name, "[^A-Za-z0-9 ]", "", "all"))>
        <cfset data.location = Trim(CustomFunction(form.location))><!--- where to put it? as cfc or as a tag? --->
        <cfif data.comment NEQ "">
            <cfif data.name EQ "">
                <cfset data.name = "Anonymous">
            </cfif>
            <cfinvoke
            component="guestbook.cfc.db"
            method="insert_comment">
            <cfinvokeargument name="form_data" value="#data#"/>
            </cfinvoke>
        <cfelse>
            <cfset message="Comment is required!">
        </cfif>
    </cfif>

    Custom tags are different than udfs.  Let's stick with udfs.  Your location choices are:
    1.  If only one template is going to use it, you can put it in that template.  Otherwise,
    2. You can put it in a .cfm file and cfinclude that file whenever you want to call the function, or
    3. You can put it into a .cfc.
    A little while back, someone ran some tests and posted the results on one of these forums.  The gist of it was that Option 2 would run faster than Option 3.

  • Disco 10G Custom Function for HTML Call to pass specific sheetid

    After learning that I cannot specify Disco 10G to open a particular worksheet in a workbook from a form menu launch (currently all I get is a listing of worksheets available in the workbook), I am told to create a custom function to handle this - instead of using OracleOASIS.RunDiscoverer.
    I have tried creating a custom function in our custom schema, but I only end up with an error page (Invalid Function) when I try to launch the report from the menu function. I even tried duplicating the Oracle OracleOASIS package and renaming it in APPS, only to receive the same results.
    Does anyone know the correct steps involved to create a new package for the HTML Call of a function in order to launch a Discoverer report?
    Thank you,
    Suzanne

    Hi Suzanne
    Here's a simple form that can be used to call Discoverer Plus:
    <br><br>
    <html><br>
    <form method="post" name="Login" action="http://myserver.com/discoverer/plus"> <br>
    Username: <input type="input" name="us" value="username"> <br>
    Password: <input type="input" name="pw" value="password"> <br>
    Database: <input type="input" name="db" value="database"> <br>
    EUL: <input type="input" name="eul" value="EUL"> <br>
    Workbook: <input type="input" name="opendbid" value="MY_AIRLINE"> <br>
    Worksheet: <input type="input" name="sheetid" value="222"> <br>
    <input type="submit" name="connect" value="Connect"><br>
    </form> <br>
    </html>
    <br><br>
    You will need to make sure you pass the correct username, password, database, eul, workbooks id (opendbid), and worksheet id (sheetid). Note that the EUL needs to be passed in uppercase and that the workbook id is case sensitive. You should also notice that this form displays the values in the form and allows the user to change them. After the user has entered their own values, they click the button called Connect.
    <br><br>
    A similar form for Viewer is as follows:
    <br><br>
    <html><br>
    <form method="post" name="Login" action="http://myserver.com/discoverer/viewer"> <br>
    <input type="hidden" name="us" value="username"> <br>
    <input type="hidden" name="pw" value="password"> <br>
    <input type="hidden" name="db" value="database"> <br>
    <input type="hidden" name="eul" value="EUL"> <br>
    <input type="hidden" name="wbk" value="MY_AIRLINE"> <br>
    <input type="hidden" name="wsk" value="222"> <br>
    <input type="submit" name="connect" value="Connect"><br>
    </form> <br>
    </html>
    <br><br>
    You will notice that for Viewer not only is there a different URL but the commands to pass the workbook and worksheet ids are different too. You should also notice that Viewer will execute the call without showing the values on the screen. All you will see is a button called Connect.
    <br><br>
    Does this help?<br><br>
    Regards<br><br>
