Hi,
We would like to implement custom context sensitive help inn ECC6.0. ie whenever the user in any transaction if he clicks menu>help>custom help ( added ) it should display the corresponding help page which is available in web form.

1. On the Site Actions menu, click
Site Settings.
2. Under Site Collection Administration, click Help Settings.
3. Select the checkbox for your new Help Collection.

Our ECC system have a customized help (SAP Main Menu -> Help -> Company Help). It stoped working after the kernel upgrade. What do you think made it stop working.
I tried to update also the sapgui patch to 21 but still the help would not work.

OAS Custom Help For Web-Enabled Forms

Anyone had experience implementing a customized help system into Web-Enabled Forms running on OAS. Regular Oracle Forms can display a help system using a specialized Oracle Form D2KHMain.fmx or using WinHelp with the library D2KWhelp.pll. Will either of these work when running the Forms on the Oracle Application Server? Java Help has been suggested? Any documentation would be helpful? Thanks.

do the following:
1. write a java program that read from the registry. you will use the program as a javabean later on.
2. compile the source and create a class/jar
3. sign it (goto sun site for details on signing class/jars). you must sign the java program or it will not be able to have access to the registry. make sure you do all the steps by following sun's instructions.
4. put it on your web server and modify the html file you use to start your developer application to include your class/jar.
5. oracle has some demos on attaching javabeans to forms. use them to help you.
6. use the program you wrote in step 1 as a javabean in your forms.

Dear Guru's,
Iam into a ESS support project, my issue is when employee logs into ESS portal and navigates through Record working time ==> Time Accounts, he has to view a customized Help link on the top right corner.
FYI...Help links are also customised via home page frame work. how ever these are done for all the services and all other services (Help Links) like Emp Search n Change own data are working fine.
I have issue with only Time Accounts & Salary Statement. kindly help.

You are over thinking it. For our solution, we don't use the "Help Link" feature of the Homepage Framework due to inconsistency of how it works, no control over it, and the inability to put multiple links.
Instead, we added another iView to each page that displays above the ESS service's main iView (like timesheet). In that iView, we link it to a HTML page in KM (but can be whereever you like). It displays our simple HTML page which we coded to have our "help links"....as well as images/icons, and additional text (like "for more information, call the Help Line at 1-555-555-5555"). Much nicer this way I think.

Custom Help-Bubble or Pop Up?

Is is possible to have custom help for fields on a form. A
customer would like bubble help, but will do with other types of
field help. Right now all I see is using a like to a static
HTML page for the display name of a field.

HTML Help link in SRM to point to custom help page.

In SRM frontend, along the top frame is a Help URL, (between Home and Settings). When i click this i get 'help not available' message. Am i able to point this to a web page that provides custom help - it seems to be able to pickup what transaction i am currently performing using parameter eg. TCODE1=BBPSTART - is there a table that i can link this??
Transaction SR13 does not help me.

Custom Help in Oracle Applications

Hi All,
I want to replace default help page for some of our important screens. I have following questions for the same :
a. Can I use my custom help pages for a seeded screen?
b. Can I achieve this without doing any major customization?
c. How much efforts will it cost me?
d. What happens when some patch is applied or some major upgrade happens?
I checked this topic in Oracle Applications System Administration guide but I could not find any application or responsibility with the name Oracle Self-Service Web Applications or Oracle Applications Help System Utility. It will be great if someone can give step-by-step instruction for the same.

I checked the Oracle Applications System Administrator's Guide - Configuration. It has given step by step information about how to customize help system but I am facing problems while following these steps. I am not able to find Oracle Self-Service Web Applications as a responsibility or menu mentioned in step-2 below :
1. Copy the customized files to the appropriate product folder in the upload directory. For example, if you customized six help files for Accounts Receivable, copy the six files to the <server location>\<Help Utility Upload Path>\US\AR directory. It is critical that you copy the files to the correct product folder in order for the Oracle Applications Help System Utility to place the files in the correct location within the Oracle Applications Help System.
2. Open the Oracle Applications Help System Utility.
The Help System Utility is available from Oracle Self-Service Web Applications.
Click on System Administration. Under Help Administration, click on Help Utility.
3. Select "Upload Files from Help System" from the Choose Action option group.
4. Select the language from the Choose Language pop list.
5. Select the product from the Choose Product pop list. You can only select one product at a time.
6. Click Finish.
Appreciate if you can help me getting there.

Old Homesite user needs some CS3 customizing help

Well I finally got CS3 after using HS5.1 for the last 7 or 10 years! It is fantastic! So far so good though it is taking some getting used to...
I was hoping that someone could be so kind to help me with a couple things, I would be greatly appreciative to say the least.
First, How do I customize the toolbars? I was able to add things to all the toolbars before so was wondering if there's similar customizability in Dreamweaver. I saw a favorites tab but can I add the 12 or so buttons I use alot in there and then have that as the default tab on opening?
I used to select text and then (using a custom toolbar button/shortcut) click the div tag. I am not sure how to use the new one because it only has id or class and create new css style where I'm used to writing a style attribute/tag - (sorry if my nomenclature is off) in there myself.
I really like the new view as you go. How do you make it so when looking in design half or full the images are not in a 'selected' type state or does that mean something?
Lastly, I used to have a keyboard shortcut to do a number of things like blockquote and change case to upper or lower. I cannot find any of those! Where oh where (Brother Where Art Though) can they be?

You can save a work space after setting it up or customising it to your needs: window > workpace layout > new workspace..
On the right side, open the panel for css styles (or under window). This panel has another window for properties under it and on the statusbar of that little panel is + sign. Click on it to make a new rule. You can also right click the last css rule and then click "Edit" to go in to the css selector/properties applet or you can opt to open the css file and write the rules directly..usually you will have a tab also for the css file at the top.

Custom Help Desk Connector

To create a custom connector from OEM to our help desk system, I am cloning the Remedy Help Desk Connector per the instructions in the Enterprise Manager Integration Guide. The information there indicates the authentication element is optional. However, if I delete those lines from the MyCustomdeploy.xml file, I end up with a null pointer exception. Are all the items in the RemedyDeploy.xml mapped to the Base GUI, and have to appear within the connect descriptor and as a result, on the configuration page, even though they do not apply to my help desk?

Need to sign Lenovo in order to install our Remote Control app for our Customer - Help please!

Thank you for joining me into the Lenovo Community.
I am not certain if I have started the thread in the right place, if I have not, admins please help me transfer this thread where needed.
One of our Customers is going to purchase our Remote Control application, in order to access and remote control their Android Smartphones, from their Windows PCs (Windows Computers to access and remote control their Android phones). The Customer is using Lenovo as their smartphones (about 2000 of them).
However, our application needs to be signed by Lenovo in order to fully install and run on a Lenovo Android smartphone.
I do not have access to the Support department, nor to the Development department of Lenovo in China.
Is there a way that you would recommend I take, either by contacting Development directly, or Support, and where would that be? China or US?

Use the "auto search" feature of the remote to see get the code.
In the manual, it's under "WHAT IF NONE OF THE CODES WORKED"
Here's a summary:
program the TV, use code 922
Press Play
then Press Fast forward.
Keep pressing fast forward until your tv turns off (go slow, if you go to fast you can use rewind to go back a code).
when it turns off, the remote found the code, press OK to save it.

Custom Help text for Oracle Apps

Hello All,
We are currently on 10.7SC(!) and would like to know how we can customise the online help files to include text that is specific to our setup.
Basically, we would like the 'Window Help' option for some key forms (PO entry, Invoice workbench, etc..) to contain the custom text.
Has anyone done this before? Any help/ideas greatly appreciated.

Custom Help Message Text on user/login.jsp

Hello,
I am trying to get some custom text to appear in the help box associated with the user/login.jsp page. I did some digging around in the docs and looked at the includes/helpServer.jsp file. I found the <$WSHOME>/help/html/help/en_US/com/waveset/msgcat/help/user/login-help.html file.
I replaced this file with our own custom version. I can not get our custom version to load. The old version still continues to load. I cleared out all the cache options I could find in the debug pages, then rebooted the server. Still no luck. Does anyone know how I can change the contents of this help message?

Here's a solution that works too. Application server is: Tomcat 5.0.28. Identity Manger 7.0 Running on a Windows 2003 server and a SQL Server dbms.
This is not the ideal solution because upgrades (i.e. new releases from Sun) will over write the changes.
This example over writes the HELP button content on the End User Menu.
This approach should work for all App servers however the folder structure will vary.
1. Stop Tomcat
2. Clear cache. (i.e. delete the localhost folder and its contents found in C:\tomcat\work\Catalina\localhost).
3. Create the following folder structure C:\com\waveset\msgcat\help\user
4. Copy the original html file from: C:\tomcat\webapps\wavex\help\html\help\en_US\com\waveset\msgcat\help\user to C:\com\waveset\msgcat\help\user. In this example main-help.html is the file being copied.
5. Make your changes to C:\com\waveset\msgcat\help\user\main-help.html
6. Open C:\tomcat\webapps\wavex\WEB-INF\lib\idm.jar with WinZip and add file C:\com\waveset\msgcat\help\user\main-help.html.
7. Close WinZip
7b. If you want you can check your results.
7c. Open C:\tomcat\webapps\wavex\WEB-INF\lib\idm.jar using WinZip.
7d. Find main-help.html and open it using your favorite web browser to see if your changes have been included.
7e. Hope it worked for you.
8. Start Tomcat
9. Test Change
9a. Log into Identity Manger's end user interface.
9b. Click the HELP button to see your changes.
