Custom icon settings ignored in taskbar

I added custom icons for Chromium and Gimp to my custom icon theme, but even if the custom icons are correctly shown in menus and short links, after I launch one of these programs the default icon is shown instead of the custom one into the taskbar.
Any idea what the cause of this may be?
Dunno if it is relevant, but it seems that this affect only non-kde applications
I'm a Kde 4.3 user.

Hi,
If I understood, you have a KM navigation iview, where some folders apperar. You want to change the icon for each of them differently.
For this do the following:
First have a look into the KM.navigation iview and get the layout set property. Go to System config->KM->Content management->User interface->Settings->LayoutSet and find the layout set you are using. Go to appropriate resource renderer and check the "<b>Icon setting</b>". Change it to: <b>iconreplace</b>.
Now get the KM details for your folders and change the <b>IconSource</b> property to your image Example:
/etc/public/mimes/images/add.gif
Voila...the icons for these folders are changed!
Hope this is your case.

  • The icon "Settings" is not working in my ipad2

    The Icon "Settings" of my ipad 2is not working. If you click it does not respond. It just started like that yesterday but today anoher problem that i can not slide to restart, and if i t works it just open with a very low speed. Someone tell me waht to do.

    Try closing the Settings 'app' completely : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Settings app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Settings app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
    If that doesn't work then you could try a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider if it appears), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • Custom communications settings for an Apple LaserWriter

    I have an Apple LaserWriter 16/600 up and running on Mac OS 10.4.11 and I want to set some custom communications settings by using the configuration switch on the back. (The switch is currently in the down position for standard settings.)
    I have the Apple Printer Utility-PPC from OS 9 and I have Classic open but No luck getting things to work.
    What more do I need to do?
    Any suggestions?

    O.K. Grant,
    I was just in OS 9, opened the Chooser, selected Laserwriter 8 icon, and it found my Laserwriter 16/600 (which i have hooked up). And choosing Setup>Auto Select, it found the "Laserwriter 16/600 PS" PPD.
    I've been trying to download, install and understand this Laserwriter 8.5 thing but, looking in my Extensions>Printer Descriptions folder, I see this "LaserWriter 8500 PPD v1.2" is already there. And I can use Chooser>Setup>SelectPPD to redo my Laserwriter using that PPD.
    So, some of my confusion may be cleared up but, this is probably more than I needed to figure out.
    Thanks

  • Custom Icon Images for Folders in KM

    Hello Everyody,
                   I have to display folders such as Pesonal Documents, Public documents, Recently used, Favourites etc which are there in the entry point repository in KM. Right now all these folders are being displayed with the default icon image specified. I want to replace these default images with custom images but couldnt see any property where i can change the image path for these folders. I checked the details of all these folders and even went through the properties but there it shows only the default image name speciefied for that folder and no active settings where i can change the image path for custom icon. Kindly suggest how to implement custom image for KM folder icons.
    Thanking you all in advance,

  • Custom Icon for application file

    I can make director allow me to have a custom icon for appliacation file.
    In director I have attempted this several times where I have tried to have my appliaction file have an icon.  I have purchased two icon program Candy Bar and Fastincs trying to remedy this problem.
    As you see here I am using an ins file created in Fastincs.  Now here is an image to the path and the icon itself Applipcations/ Adobe Director 11/3 HorseLogo.mac.ins
    So there is the setup now when I complile for my program file I get this.
    See the grey Director icon I don't want that I want the three horse logo.
    I also tried to assign the logo after publishing the file.
    then I drag my icon file in
    The program created in director still wont see the icon file.
    If I use Candy bar (icon application)  I get a  different result. The icon works
    in both finder and on the task bar
    This is exactly what I want.
    I works until I try to move the entire package into an installer program  I am using BitRock.  When I compile the installation program then try to run the application I get the following message
    If I choose ignore the install continues.  But I have no icon.
    I am desperate , weeping , screaming , and almost a lost cause, any help any help at all I could really use.
    Thanks

    Hi Robin,
    I'm more of a PC person rather than Mac. I would recommend you look at the Resource and Icon Editor page at:
    http://collab.directorforum.com/Resource_and_Icon_Editor
    It may fix your icon issue from Director.

  • Custom icon strip - how to reference it in the HHC?

    I could not get the custom icon strip to work for me. I think that I understood the overall concept but I do not know how to reference the bmp file in the HHC.Ricks Tips and Tricks file only states "make the reference inside the HHC file". Where exactly do I place the <param name="..." value="C:..BMP"> reference?
    Perhaps there is an example?

    Rick,
    thanks for your efforts despite my ignorance! My HHC file does not look like that, it has a different structure without an HTML list. After some fiddeling I got it to work now, even though I still did not find out why my TOC structure does not match yours (the binary TOC option is not active).
    Instead of using the <param name="ImageList" value="C:tocimages.bmp"> line, I inserted the reference into the properties tag. My HHC looks like this now and it works:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <toc version="1.0">
    <properties imagelist="C:tocimages.bmp">
    </properties>
    <item name=".." link="...html">
    (here the TOC items follow)
    </item>

  • Custom Power Settings do not stick in Leopard

    In the Energy Saver, if I specify any custom settings for power management, they will stick only so long as I'm actively using the "Custom" Profile. If I switch to any of the other built-in profiles, relaunch system preferences, and return to the custom profile, all my custom settings will be lost. Again, as long as I stick to only using the Custom profile, the settings will stick, but if I change away from it, they are all erased.
    Is this a new "feature" with Leopard, or a bug? It should be easy for anyone to test. Simply go to Energy Saver, change any of the power settings, then under "Optimization", select any of the built-in profiles. Close System Preferences and open it again, reselect "Custom" under Optimisations, and see if your custom settings have been reset.

    I also have this issue, but perhaps slightly different - when I wake my MBP from sleep, it will wake in only the Custom settings, no matter how or what setting it went to sleep in. Same goes for restarts - it will only restart in the Custom setting - it ignores what Energy Saver setting it went to sleep in.
    I began to notice it after updating from 10.5.1 to 10.5.2 - the recent 10.5.3 hasn't solved the problem at all.

  • Applying custom icons to all files of a type

    I used to use ResEdit back int he day - and have used various tools on Mac and Windows to change icons. BUt I am stuggling with a default custom icon option for Mac OS X.
    I have a set of farily simply icons for use with a number of file types that I use a lot - csv, psl, pti, tp3, xml, cfr, and others and I would like to always have newly created files get the custom icon.
    Ideally this would be based on the extension - and they are not all from the same app.
    I am not afraid to use the terminal or edit package contents. Although some of them are windows apps - and I already have a custom set in the virtual machine.
    Some of the solutions I have seen out there such as Candy Bar seem to be only for application and folder settings.
    In a couple cases - such as the .cfr and .pti - the apps do not have an open method where you can double click on the file and have it open - so I woudl be okay with something like reprogramming TextEdit to have the necessary icons and plist updates. Although when I tried to edit the plist file in TextEdit - all I did was render TextEdit unusable.
    any help in the right direction will be appreaciated - I find it very helpful when I create 30 to 40 files ( a group of 5 differnet file types for each option ) to have icons that help me determine which ones I need to run a macro against - and which to send the customer - and which to upload to the vendor - etc.
    Also missing the colorful icons in the sidebar and iTunes - as well an Unsanity Haxies - guess what audio feedback does make me more productive or at the very least more certain that the system is behaving as I expect.

        on error errorMessage
            return false
        end try
    end setIcon
    After saving, the resulting application can be double-clicked, or you can drop files onto it (the script can't be run from the script editor).  It can be tweaked further to include image files in the application bundle to select from (the icon images can be any image, not just icon files), or to be used in the Finder's toolbar, but for now the basic application should get you started.

  • Can't publish with custom icons

    Whenever I attempt to publish an AIR app for which I've selected a custom icon, I get an error message, "An attribute or element contains an invalid value in the application descriptor file. (application.icon.image128x128)"
    Looking in the file "TL Report processor-app.xml" which is created alongside the app, I see that where presumably the path to the icon file should be, I see:
    <image128x128>AppIconsForAIRPublish/AM initials.png</image128x128>
    instead of the complete path to the PNG that I entered in the Publish settings.
    What the f@*# gives?

    Hi Cj
    There are a zillion threads on this general problem so you will find plenty of detailed ideas and fixes if you need to go digging. But your problem sounds like one I have from time to time even with 1.1.1. My fix has been to delete the notorious prepublishstate file from the domain package for your iweb site, and then to make minor changes to the pages where comments are not showing. Then republish your site and bingo there they are.
    If I have spoken too much in code and riddles and you want to try this fix but need more precise details, just let me know.

  • Desktop/Finder not showing customized icon for external drives

    I have customized the icons for my external drives (as well as several folders within), but they show up as generic icons on the desktop and in the finder. This only occurs in my Admin account (which I'm using). The customized icons show in the standard guest account I created. Are there any settings I should change?

    Any chance the show / hide is not selected in your actual finder folder, not the preferences? I just went 'round with this for a half hour until I noticed that somehow the 'show' was clicked to 'hide' for some reason.....

    First off if you have Firefox4 you probably also have an earlier version such as firefox 3.6.15 installed. By default firefox installs these in slightly different locations, but it leaves it up to you to create a separate profile for each version. The profile is where firefox stores data and settings. I am not sure that firefox explains this clearly, but you will run into problems if you do not have a separate profile for each version of firefox. See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Testing_pre-release_versions
    To try to get the toolbars working correctly, after you have ensured you have separate profiles in use for each version ( the following action will make changes)
    # use the restore default set from the customise / customize toolbars dialogue
    # if that does not work then
    #* use [safe mode] and the option [X] reset toolbars and controls

  • Display icons in dvt:scheduledGantt taskbar

    Hi,
    Jdev 11.1.1.2.0.
    I want to display an icon within the taskbar of scheduledGantt.
    My VO has a attribute "icon1" with the value "/css/icons/exception.png".
    This attribute is assigned to the "icon1"-property of the gantt (in the Task section).
    Thought the icon value "/css/icons/exception.png" is the same as I used in an af:commandbutton on the same jspx I can't manage to display the icon on any taskbar.
    The icon in the af:commandbutton is displayed as expected.
    In ADF Faces component demo I couldn't find an example where icons are displayed in taskbar.
    Any hints what I may have wrong?
    regards
    Peter

    You have to put the icons under the HTML Root Directory, which can be found in the Project Properties (Project Source Path Web Application).

  • Custom icons 'unclickable' in icon view & not shown in coverflow

    Hi,
    I just got off the line with Apple support, who couldn't solve my problem and then just told me that Leopard didn't support what I was doeing and thus that it was not there problem. Very un-apple if you ask me...
    Here's the problem:
    I create custom icons for my movies by pasting images (Jpeg's or what have you) onto the icon in the 'Get info' window of a file. This works fine, however when I view the files in icon view I can't select the file by clicking on the icon, only by clicking on the text below. Strangly enough this problem dissapears when I edit the icon size in the 'View options' to a size equal too or smaller then 116x116. At this point I can select the file without any problem.
    The same sort of happens in coverflow. Here I can't see the icon in coverflow if the icons are fairly large. Once I reduce the size of the coverflow bar too the point where the icons are very small the custom icons reappear.
    The make the matter even more strange this problem only occurs with files where I created a custom icon for since I had Leopard installed. All custon icons created under 10.4 work fine.
    This indicates too me that Leopard has problem with handeling the resolution of icons.
    Note also that Leopard stores icon images in different sizes. Try copying an icon image from the 'Get info' window, then launch Preview, then select 'File' and 'New from Clipboard'. You will see that there are multiple images here.
    Anybody know how to solve this?

    Getting the same stupid behavior here!
    I had a lot of customized Tiger folder icons but now i've got no good tools for customizing these new huge Leopard ones.
    I began using *Icon Composer* from the developer tools after doing the graphics in Photoshop, then using IconDroplet to get them into a form where i can copy and paste them between *Get Info* windows. What a pain.
    Now i discover this bit where they're not clickable once i replace them! I didn't know about the behaviors when making them big in *Cover Flow* and small in Icon view until i read this.
    I've been snooping around but i haven't found what needs to be tweaked where to allow them to behave properly.

  • Can no longer change bit rate in AAC custom import settings

    I've been re-ripping all my CDs at the new higher bit rate. My import settings were AAC Encoder -- custom, originally set to 256 kbps, VBR, and auto for the other two settings. However, some CDs I wanted at a lower setting, so I would go change the bit rate to either 192 or 224 (just so I'd have more room on my ipod) and there wouldn't be a problem. But now it's stuck -- the pop-up box no longer opens when I choose import settings, AAC Encoder, Custom, so I can't change the bit rate or anything else, and it's stuck on 224 kbps. I can still change bit rate and other settings in the custom menus for MP3, WAV, etc., just not AAC. A repair install of iTunes did not fix the problem.

    Hi, Ed. I am running iTunes 9.0.3.15. When I click custom, the settings description in the details box display what they were before this thing happened = 112 kbps (mono)/224 kbps (stereo), VBR, optimized for MMX/SSE2. The pop-up dialogue box that used to appear (where you could choose the specific bit rate from the drop down menu) does not appear at all.
    However, when I choose anything other than AAC Encoder, and then pick custom, the pop-up box appears and I can choose the bit rate and adjust the other settings as usual. It's just not happening for AAC Encoder anymore. Since the total un-install (following Apple's specified order) and reinstall didn't work, I'm baffled how to fix this .... (If it makes a difference, I changed the bit rate in the custom box while a CD was being burned...Apparently that was stupid, but I had done it previously without incident.) Thanks.
