Custom Image deploy and custom default profile how?

Hi,
I have custom created wim image(Windows 8.1 update2 x64 enteprise) with all programs that I want - like:
Office2013
7zip
antivirus software
etc...
Question is - Can I create default profile with my custom settings (control panel list icons, This PC icon show on desktop, Outlock icon pined on taskbar....)?
I am create custom start menu but all other settings I cant modify.
I am found sysprep solution and ansver file but it is to complicate and
requires much more time.
Can I somehow copy administrator profile to default profile with all settings like I have in admin account?
I dont understood why microsoft prefer sysprep way for create image? I think that is much
easier periodically create an image
with all applications and updates with default profile.
After implementing image wsus takes him for update and
everyone is happy.

My latest issue - I am uninstall all store apps(with powershell some command with -online )for all users but apps
appear again when the new
domain user log in.
Too many problems. Thank you for your replay.
Hi,
For this question, this because the default user profile still have these app installed.
And we need to set the default domain user profile without these apps to over-write the one on local machine:
How can I set the default domain user profile?

  • Customs Allocation Account and Customs Expense Account

    Hi All,
Can any one tell me what is the use of Customs allocation Account and Customs Expense Account.
When and where these accounts will be used.
If  possible provide with examples of journal entry.
    Regards
    Shashi

    Hi,
Custom allocation iaccount are used with the landed cost.
It's defined in Setup > Inventory > Custom Group. You will have to define both the Custom allocation account and the Custom Expense account. On the Item Master Data, the custom group is found on the Purchasing tab.
In Purchasing/AP > Landed  cost, if the field Custom Affects Inventory is checked then your custom allocation account will be credited and the inventory account will be debited (inventory value goes up).
If the field Custom Affects Inventory is unchecked, the custom allocation account will still be credited but the custom expense account will be debited instead.
    Hope this help

  • WDS for custom image deployment via PXE

I've recently spun up a 2012R2 server and I'd like to use it so I can netboot clients to it and install a custom image on the machine, no hassle.  I have figured out how to take an image from a Windows 7 install disk and add drivers to it.
However, I'm wondering the best way that I could configure an image to use that has all programs, profiles, updates, and drivers on it for a 'universal' install. Is this possible?
For example, can I have a 32-bit image that has Chrome, FireFox, and some other programs on it, complete with any drivers that might be needed for NIC and WLAN cards, graphics adapters, etc? And then a 64-bit image for the same thing. Ideally, these
would house drivers for any of our machines, so I could PXE boot a 64- or 32-bit desktop or laptop, regardless of the model (They're all one manufacturer) and have them install the image and be configured, ready to go?
I would also like to know how I could create a custom image/ISO from a machine that is already ready-to-go as a template.
Thank you for answers in advance.
If it helps, i'm on a Windows 8.1 x64 machine myself, but the machines I'd like to image are Windows 7 (both x86 and x64).

    Yea.  In a nut shell:
    1. Do the install and create the needless account the setup process forces you to create.
    2. On first log in enable the original default Administrator account and give it a password
    3. Log in with the default Administrator account.
    4. Delete the local account that setup forced you to create
    5. Go to Advanced system Settings --> User Profiles, and remove the profile for that account.  This is important,...this removes the registry entries for the Profile as well (just deleting the folder structure under "C:\Users" does not,
    and problems can result).
    6. Build your image model from this point using the original default local Administrator account.  This is the only account that Sysprep will leave on the machine when it is run. Note the machine is not a Domain Member when I am at this point.
I only join the machine that I apply the image to when I finally deploy the machine to be used .
    7. Run Sysprep on the machine to prepare it for duplication, then shutdown or reboot.  When starting up you do not want to allow it to boot into the OS or you will have to rerun Sysprep again.   You can use WDS to "capture" an image
after doing a network boot from the Nic.  You can also boot the machine using a Windows PE bootdisk and manually capture an image with ImageX (comes with WAIK for Win7).  But ImageX is commandline only and annoying,...there is a GUI alternative called
GImageX (google it). Then manually copy the captured image to the WDS Server.  Note when you capture an image,..you are only capturing the Boot Partition,...not the entire drive.
The details of all this you can sort out by studying "how to use" WDS and WAIK (Win7).  That should put you on the right track.
A source for creating a bootable Windows PE disk is here.

  • Image Capture and/or Canon MF4350d -- How do I set up Auto Document Feeder?

I can't find a setting for it within Image Capture, and I was told by a Canon customer service agent that she had a similar customer with a similar problem who had to get some updated Image Capture software from Apple to fix the problem. If that's true, I looked for the Image Capture software but couldn't find it, and if not, I'd love to know how to make the ADF work for me. The printer says it can do it, but I can't get my computer to ask the right way...
thanks in advance for your help!

Hello there and welcome to Apple Discussions.
I am not aware of a new version of Image Capture, apart from the one that is included with 10.6 but this is not available for 10.5.
I don't have an MF4300 series to test (I have the MF4680 and 4270) so I cannot check the settings you should see with the Canon ScanGear application for your MF4350. However, I think the issue is that Image Capture does not open the Scan Gear viewer and therefore you do not get the option of where to scan from. So instead of using Image Capture to scan, try using Preview and selecting the MF4350 via the File > Import Image menu.

  • Using Federated Security in BizTalk against custom Token Provider and Custom Token

    Hi,
I as the topic states, I'm trying to get BizTalk to use a Custom Token Provider with custom tokens.
So I thought this would be rather painless using ws2007FederationHttpBinding but got stuck. The problem is that the service expect soap action and a special structure (se example):

My plan to solve this is to try using beahviors added to the "inner" wcf binding that will help reconstruct the message from the standard form that I has, but I'm a bit vorried that I start to solve this and later on I'll have to add custom handling
for token extraction and handling since the token should be placed in a custom header in the soap envelope with custom namespace =).
So my question is, could this be solved via sw2007FederationHttpBinding or is an orchestration and some custom code for signing the path forward?
Thanks in advance for any help or guidance!

  • Custom search form and custom results

    Hi, everyone!
My problem is that I have to search for custom items with custom fields (attributes). So I have to create my own search form with necessary fields. Than the solution may be to call the portal30.wwsbr_search_api.submit_search procedure, but it renders it's own HTML result with advanced search form. That doesn't suit me. Searching for alternative API, I found portal30.wwv_searchdb.search function. I tried to use it, but in any case it fails with exception and error message "ORA-01403: no data found". From the previous messages I've discovered that there is custom search portlet in 9.0.2. But is it possible to solve my problem without these new features?
Thank you for your answers ;)
    yk
    P.S. Sorry for my English...

    Yuriy,
I'm sorry but the portal30.wwv_searchdb.search api is not one of the public apis. There is no simple out of the box way to address your issue with release 1 of Oracle9iAS Portal (you'll have to wait for release 2 for that), but you could do some post processing of the HTML that gets returned from the search results screen and present that to your users. While it would take a little work it would probably give you the functionality you desire.
You would create a custom search screen, and have the submission call our api with the users values. Then process the results of that call (an HTML page) inside a procedure to finally present your own view of the data.
    Good luck,
    Rich

  • Automatically create a custom VPN connection and set default wallpaper in a deployment...

    Hey guys,
I've been hard at work on creating a custom deployment for our company to allow us to start rolling out Windows 7 at the first of next month. I demonstrated it to the brass today and they were blown away. All they asked for was two changes and I admit I'm stumped. Hopefully someone here can help:
1 - Set Default Wallpaper for *all* users: I've written a script to copy our company wallpaper to "C:\Windows\Web\Wallpaper" during a deployment. Is there any way I can modify that script to set that wallpaper as default for anyone who logs into that computer. Or if there's a non-script way to do this I'm all ears. I just need that wallpaper as default.
2 - Create a VPN Connection for our company intranet: Right now this is being done manually in the Network and Sharing Center. All they are doing is choosing "Set up a new connection or network" >> "Connect to a workplace" >> "Use my Internet Connection (VPN)" and just entering our VPN server IP Address and giving the connection a name. Surely there has to be a way to automate this with a script or something? Can anyone help?
3 - BONUS: This is just gravy, but if anyone can tell me how to "silently" or "automatically" disable the "Highlight newly installed programs" checkbox for all users using a script or something, that would be *wonderful*.
    Can anyone help me here?

    1. Go here http://blogs.technet.com/deploymentguys/archive/2008/06/06/useful-script-number-5-adjusting-the-default-user-registry-hive.aspx . There is a script that will set your default wallpaper for you.
    2. Does your company use a VPN client?
    3. This option is set in the Registry. You could create a startup script or add this to your Task Sequence. Create the Dword and set it to 0 to disable highlighting.
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Start_NotifyNewApps
    Rich
    http://deploywindows7.wordpress.com/
    Thanks for responding Rich,
    1. I actually came across that script when I was poking around the Deployment guys forums, but I noticed that it did a lot more than just set the Wallpaper. I was trying to "keep it simple" plus the registry editing sort of made me nervous. I guess I can give it a go and see if it can be made to work for me.
    2. Our company dos not use a VPN client. If you look back at my description of the process in bullet point #2 we are just using the Network and Sharing Center that is built into Windows 7 to create a simple VPN connection. That's why I'm so certain there has to be a way to automate this process. ll we are doing is entering an IP Address and giving the connection a name. Surely I can script that, or is there maybe some way to create the connection on one computer and save it as a file that I can then copy to each machine during my deployment?
    3. Thanks for answering my bonus one too. Please forgive my ignorance because I am new to a lot of this. I assume I can create a "file" with the proper registry settings that can be applied during deployment right? I've seen people crate files that do this and use the .reg extension. Do you know how to make one of these or can you link me to a tutorial that steps me through it?
You could always edit the script to leave the other parts out.  Thanks for the clarification on the VPN Client, just wanted to make absolutely sure. Let me know how if the process you found works for you.
For the reg key, you would want to create the key I described, add it to your scripts directory, and then add a Client Build Custom Task in StateRestore to set the key in the registry. You can do this by adding a RunLineCommand to the Task Sequence. Then the command would look like this
    cmd /c regedit /s %deployroot%\scripts\NameOfRegKey.reghttp://deploywindows7.wordpress.com/

  • Automating custom software deployment and configuration for multiple nodes

    Hello everyone.
Essentially, the question I'd like to ask is related to the automation of software package deployments on Solaris 10.
Specifically, I have a set of software components in tar files that run as daemon processes after being extracted and configured in the host environment. Pretty much like any server side software package out there, I need to ensure that a list of prerequisites are met before extracting and running the software. For example:
    * Checking that certain users exists, and they are associated with one or many user groups. If not, then create them and their group associations.
    * Checking that target application folders exist and if not, then create them with pre-configured path values defined when the package was assembled.
    * Checking that such folders have the appropriate access control level and ownership for a certain user. If not, then set them.
    * Checking that a set of environment variables are defined in /etc/profile, pointed to predefined path locations, added to the general $PATH environment variable, and finally exported into the user's environment. Other files include /etc/services and /etc/system.
Obviously, doing this for many boxes (the goal in question) by hand will certainly be slow and error prone.
I believe a better alternative is to somehow automate this process. So far I have thought about the following options, and discarded them for one reason or another.
    1. Traditional shell scripts. I've only troubleshooted these before, and I don't really have much experience with them. These would be my last resort.
    2. Python scripts using the pexpect library for analyzing system command output. This was my initial choice since the target Solaris environments have it installed. However, I want to make sure that I'm not reinveting the wheel again :P.
    3. Ant or Gradle scripts. They may be an option since the boxes also have Java 1.5 enabled, and the fileset abstractions can be very useful. However, they may fall short when dealing with user and folder permissions checking/setting.
It seems obvious to me that I'm not the first person in this situation, but I don't seem to find a utility framework geared towards this purpose. Please let me know if there's a better way to accomplish this.
I thank you for your time and help.

Configuration Management is a big topic today with a few noteworthy alternatives for Solaris:
    - CFEngine (http://www.cfengine.org)
    - Chef (http://wiki.opscode.com)
    - Puppet (http://www.puppetlabs.com)

also how do we go abt setting tolreance grp and where do we set this up.

    Hi,
You don't need to set up payment method in Customer Master Data for Lockbox incoming Payments. However, you can enter the Lockbox number - in Company Code data - Payment Transactions.
Payment method is basically for any outgoing payments to Customer.
Tolerance for Customers is defined in Transaction code OBA3.
Tolerance Group for Employees for Employees are defined  in Transaction code OBA4.
Assignment of Tolerance groups is done in transaction code OB57.

  • Custom step types and custom step data.

    Hello.
I have a good understanding of how TestStand allows custom step types to allow users to store custom data.
I have also read numerous posts about users asking for the ability to store some custom data associated with steps.
In my scenario I am required to write a sequence using a few third party supplied step types.
To assist in developing and debugging this sequence, we would like to store a container of custom data with each steps.
Option 1: Create custom step types.
This is really not an option, relying on third party step types. Any customization made to their step types will magically disappear, along with any custom data, the next time I install one of them service packs.
You may argue that I just have to ensure all custom fields are recreated before opening a sequence file. This works in my office when everyone is at edge with this, but in a few months someone will "take responsibility"
and upgrade the 3rd party packs without reading the entire upgrade procedure.
Option 2: Create links in Sequence Locals
This does work, but is not very associative. To work, the name of the Locals entry would need to be the unique ID of the step it refers to.
Also, it requires some more maintenance to insert new steps, and to remove stale references.
I really hope that someone in TestStand R&D reads this, and enables users to store step custom data, for example by adding a "CustomData" container to the TS property of the step.
    Regards,
    Ivar S.

    Ray:
    Thanks for answering.
I am aware that I can extend a custom step type by creating a new step type based on the first type.
For example, I have this 3rd party JtagExecuteTest step type, supplied by another solution vendor.
In my sequence, I want a custom error & failure handler, that needs information about each step as they fail.
For handling and logging purposes, I need each step in my sequence to carry information in addition to the setup required by JtagExecuteTest.
So I set forth, and modify the step type JtagExecuteTest step, along with some other 10-15 step types that the other solution vendor has put in their package.
This works like a charm until I have to reinstall or upgrade the package.
Because I modified the steps using their original name, all data I put into the steps are lost.
Next attempt, I follow your advice and create MyJtagExecuteTest step, based on the original steps. Again, I repeat this customization for 10-15 step types.
This works like a charm until I have to upgrade the package.
Now some wise guy at the other solution vendor has renamed a DLL or a function call, breaking down every step that I have customized.
Mush better, though, because I can repeat the customization process and the data does not disappear.
Still, this is just too much hassle just to put TestStand to some decent use.
If I could just click on a step, add my custom properties, and have TestStand retain those data as a user customization that particular step instance.
Much like you have Sequence.Locals, it would be extremely useful to have a Step.Locals container for the users to use at will.
    Regards,
    Ivar Svendsen.

  • Custom Search Form and custom attribute picklist?

I have a custom item type which has a custom attribute NAICS_Code. The NAICS codes are stored in a database table and the attribute is set to a list of values that is a query on that table. The attribute is associated with a custom item type as a text attribute.
Now, when I add the custom item type to a page, the NAICS Code field is a popup selector, as expected.
On a Portal page, I have the Custom Search Portlet that searches another page that contains the custom item type.
On the Custom Search Portlet, I can add the NAICS Code as an additional attribute, but the search field is a plain text box and NOT a pick list of any kind.
Can I configure the Custom Search Portlet to use associated LOVs with filter by attributes?

I'm afraid that in the version of portal you are using we don't render LOVs for LOV attributes on the search portlet.
In 10.1.2 attributes are added to the search form using a More Attributes button which simply render an empty row for the attribute details to be filled in.
In 10.1.4 this was improved considerably. Now attributes are added to the search form like they are added in the edit defaults, with a Choose Attributes link which opens a popup to select the attributes. On closing the popup the search form is re-rendered and any LOV attributes will be rendered with a combo box of available values to select from.
