Custom Item Type Icon not displayed

I have created a custom Item type from the base File type for PDF files.
I have asociated a PDF Icon with this type.
When I create folder object of my new PDF Type, my Icon does not ever seem to show up.
Why?
I must change the image associated with each item (secondary tab). to get an Icon to show up.

According to the help text:
"Currently, this icon is not used by Oracle Portal. The icon may be used in future releases."
But, if you want to show it, you can use a procedure in the custom item type to display the icon. Just find the URL to the icon (in Internet Explorer, right click on the icon and select Properties to get the URL) and write a simple procedure to display it. PDF File Type Icon Not Displaying HELP!!!

Hey guys!
I have a quick question that I need resolved. Make sure you READ before you respond as people seem to be having trouble with this one.
Something happened on my system to where .pdf files aren't displaying the PDF file type image anymore. They're just displaying the Windows default non-associated file icon.
But the weird thing is that the .pdf file type IS associated with Adobe Acrobat, and when double clicked they DO open in Acrobat.
I checked inside of Acorbat.dll and the file type icon IS in there...so this is leading me to believe that something is messed up in the registry to where Windows doesn't know to link a .pdf with the icon inside of Acrobat.dll.
So my question is this...how do I RELINK the .pdf file type with the PDF file type icon located inside of Acrobat.dll???

Before you start editing the registry try the suggestions given in the FAQ:

failing that try doing a repair of acrobat from the help menu.

Visual Studio 2012 SharePoint Project Error : The partial project item type does not have a value for this property

I am getting this error from visual studio 2012 whenever i try to create the following project types:
- Workflow Custom activity
- Web parts
The error is as mentioned below
"The partial project item type does not have a value for this property"
Due to this the when I add above type of items in my project, they show a red cross icon against them.

Oracle Text and Custom item type

I have a custom item type defined that has custom attributes. With Oracle Text disabled, I can use a custom search to find these items either by their standard attributes (name,description, etc.) or their custom attributes. However, as soon as I enable Oracle Text (and allow the indexing process to complete), I can no longer locate these items in a search.
I assume that I need to do something to tell Oracle Text to index these types of items, but could not find anything in documentation. Any assistance would be appreciated.
Also, assuming we get around the above issue, if I have Oracle Text enabled, does this mean I will not be able to find these items after they are created until the next scheduled index update? Is there away around this besides killing Oracle Text?

The indexes need to be synchronised for the items to be searched and returned. Hence until the next scheduled index update, the item will not be returned. To explicitly udpate the indexes, run the procedure in the portal database connected as the schema owner.

Wirless icon not displaying, but says I am connected to network

I am a new Iphone user, so I apologize is this a rookie questions. I believe I am connected to my house wireless connected as the name of my network is checked off when I go to settings and Wifi.
My question is, though, why is my icon not displaying on the top left corner? It displays when I am connected at work and everywhere else I was able to connect. Is there something in my settings that I may have checked?
And, does that mean I am not really connected wirelessly?

Thanks, all. So, I just rebooted and there was no change.
Then, as SteveCWatkings recommended, I went into my settings page. I went into the properties page, and there isn't anything listed beside IP address, Subnet Mask, Router, DNS, etc. They are all empty...
*UPDATE*
Okay, something just happened. AS I WAS RESPONDING, I was clicking on each of the fields (IP address, Subnet, etc to see if I could enter information since they were empty. And,when I got to DNS, it allowed me to type something in. Not knowing what to enter, I clicked back and it took me back to the Settings page. So, I clicked on my network again and when I tapped my network, all the fields were filled in, and the icon appeared.
So, now it appears to be connected. I don't know if it will remain connected, or if I had to tap something (DNS?) or if it was glitch, but it appears to be working now.

Page0 item won't display; Error: Item "P0_X" was not displayed

Hello,
On Page0 (which is rendered for every page in the app) I have an HTML area with some text (If you encounter any errors, please....) and a few links (email/feedback, etc) defined in a table structure and that displays fine. This is rendered in the "above header" section at the top of ever app page.
I thought I would add another HTML area with a navigation tool up there, so I tried to put an item into the new area where a user could type in a menu shortcut, but when I put the item up there and load a page in the app, I get an error:
Error: Item "P0_Jumpto" was not displayed because the HTML form was not yet opened.
Why is that? Can I put such an item on Page0? I don't want to have to define this structure on every page...

In this case P0_X is a page alias, because people in general don't remember 192 as well as they would REPT. The problem is that EVERY page has an alias to standardize bug and enhancement reporting, and navigation tools (example: I have a problem with page REMD; the column.....) - - but not every page should "jumped" to by the method described of entering the page alias.
There needs to be a lookup table that indicates which are and which are not acceptable candidates to jump to. I've already got the table populated so I was thinking a "where EXISTS" condition on the application process, but the condition for this applicatin process is already used by Request=Expression 1...how can I add that second condition or can you suggest another method?

Item Type Icon

I added an icon to my URL "Item Type Properties". But, I don't see the icon on any URL items. I added every attribute to the "Displayed Attributes" for the region, and I still don't see any item type icons. The "Available Attributes" in "Edit Region" doesn't list anything like "Item Icon" anyway.

How can I show the item icon? Or, what is it used for?

Hi Brian,
You're talking about a mime type icon, and those are shown for a File Item. Those work fine. I'm talking about the Icon associated with the Item Type, where you specify the Icon in the "Item Type Properties" when you edit the Item Type.
For example, I made an "External URL" Item type:
Base Item Type: Base URL
Name: EXTERNALURL
Display Name: External URL
Description: <none>
Icon: <this is where I added my icon, and it's displayed in the properties here...>
Help URL For Add Item Wizard: <none>
Help URL For Edit Item Wizard: <none>
In this Edit Item Type area, there are also tabs for "Item Type Attributes" and "Procedures". I don't think those apply.
When I make an External URL item, there's no icon.
Again, the portal version I'm using is 10.1.2.0.2.

Custom Item Types / Refresh

We have a portlet on a page containing status information on Customer Service Tickets, etc. This was built using a custom item type and stored procedures.
The problem we're having is that the portlet will only refresh upon login. Using the browser refresh and reloading the page does not invoke the procedures.
Is there a solution to this? Is there a better way of building this application?

one idea i have is to create a table where you insert a value once the item gets created (maybe the itemid). now add an if statement to your custom item type procedure where you check if the itemid is available in this table. if yes do nothing (null;) if it is not available execute the procedure since it is the first time the procedure is executed (means the item gets created).

Traversal of custom item menu icons in form

Here is one doubt for me
me created one menu design with customitem subclass creating background image with sprite class and menu icons over it as in mobile(grid view) using default method paint() g.drawImage();
and then appended this customitem to form. Now the problem is how to traverse among the custom item menu icons.
i am aware of traverse() and traverout() methods, but don't know how to enable it

i get an error when i transfer SC to RFx :     Line 0001: Item type 'Service' not allowed for this Item .

another question is ,in the Standalone scenario , can we create Service Master with multiple level(hierarchy) use Tcode 'COMMPR01 ' ?

Hi Claud,
SRM does not support hierarchy in service for operational documents like PO, contract, confirmation and invoice in SRM 7. It does support hierarchy in service only for RFx doucments. You need to activate the hierarchy template for SRM for that.

OUTPUT type is not displaying (VF02)

I have created new OUPUT TYPE (ZINB) (using Tcode NACE) to print billing invoice by coping(copy all) a existing Output type and attached only a new smartform.
But new ouput type is not displaying to print invoice document (VF02).
(Give message 'Output ZINB is not defined')
Please help me to identify this problem.

Hi Pradeep,
Your new output type ZINB should be assigned to the relevant output determination procedure along with the billing type.You can check this in V/25 and also check out whether a valid condition record exists for this output type in VV33,if not create one using VV31 using ZINB output type.

Header and Item text details not displaying in Capital and Import PO......

Hi Abapers,
           I copied the standard PO /SMB40/MMPO_A to ZForm, and customized like changing logos,address,footer etc.., after activating the form and while print previewing the standard purchase order all details displaying including header,item,terms of payment,delivery schedule.
         But for Import and Capital PO, the header,item,terms of payment,delivery schedule,etc.., details not displaying nor printing in the form.I didnt changed or customized the above windows in the form, but the above details want to display in the form for Capital and Import PO.
         I am getting all the details for Standard PO, but not for Capital and Import PO.
Let me give some suggestions for the above issue.

I am using the standard Purchase Order for this.
I checked the standard smartform, and their is no condition for blocking import and capital PO texts. The below is the code written for retrieving header text in smartform header window..,

Eye icon not displaying in AccordionPanelTab

This problem is across sites. One of them is http://www.alvingolf.com/documents.html. Strangely, on that site, there is also an accordion where I cannot directly edit in design view, but must edit in the code. That page is http://www.alvingolf.com/banquet-room.html. All the other accordions on the site all editing in design view but still display no eye icon. I can open the panels in the Properties panel, however.

Now I'm wondering if I copied over something important when I added my former styles back to the SpryAccordion.css on alvingolf.com.
I would like to just reload the new framework, but the link given on the sidebar says explicitly that it ONLY works with CS4, and I have CS5. I found the file in my configuration folder in Program Files, so I'm going to give that a go, but if anyone knows of another reason why the eye might not display, please pass it on.
Actually, this problem started before I upgraded to CS5. And I guess the one where I cannot edit directly is the subject of another post.

Karen, I have also seen this behavior. Make sure you have not turned off your Invisible Elements. Even in CS5, I get the eyeball when I turn on Invisible Elements and Visual Aids.
If your Spry code is corrupted, however, with an extra div or other item between structure that the widget needs to work, you will not get the eye AND your widget will break.
I have also experienced not being able to edit in Design View. I have not completely tracked down the cause, but in situations where I have not stated a height (most situations) but HAVE spec'd overflow: hidden; I can't edit in Design View in that element. This is in CS5, which seems pickier than CS4 did.
Regarding the sidebar link that states that it ONLY works with CS4, perhaps it means ONLY CS4 and NOT CS3. Typically, code will work going forward, but not work going backward in version. You can get a clue on precise meaning of that statement if you have a date on when it was made. If it was made before CS5 was released (March 2010), it probably means to exclude CS3. If it was made after March 2010, it could mean to exclude also CS5.
You can make a copy of the files/site in case of catastrophe and try using the newer framework in CS5.
