Custom Labels

When creating Custom Labels for fields in Address Book (eg: Mom's Cell) when working on the Mac, there is no list of predefined labels provided, but when working on the iPhone every label ever created (on the Mac and iPhone) is provided.
Please provide that same list on the Mac, and also provide an easy way of slimming that list down.

You can make suggestions to Apple regarding Mac OS X by submitting feedback here:

  • How do you add a custom label to dates in contacts.....

How do you add a custom label to dates in contacts- I have multiple birthdays in contact group and want to change label through customise to add additional birthday- unless another way to add second birthday to contacts and identify each one?????? or way to link contacts with same address phone number etc but id birthdays?????

You have some contacts with more than one birthday?
To add a custom label for a date, select Edit for an existing contact. Select Add Field. Select Date. Scroll up with the Info window above the date selection and select Other for the new date selection. Select Add Custom Label and then select this label for the new date field for the contact.
As far as linking dates with multiple contacts, the answer is no to that.

Hello, How can I edit or delete a custom label in the contacts list on iOS 7.0.3 on iPhone 4S ?
    i need it so muchhh!

Sort of depend on what you are trying to do precisely. In Edit mode, if you tap on any label, you will be given a list of options, plus an Add Custom Label option near the bottom of the list

I've been trying to find a way to do this since I updated to IOS 7, and I've just found the solution/explanation, even tho is a bit heavy to carry out.
IOS 6 creates custom labels and save them giving you the option to delete them.
IOS 7 creates custom labels but don't save them, so there is no need to have the option to delete them.
But here comes the problem, if you have some custom labes saved in you Iphone / Ipad with IOS 6 and you update it to IOS 7, the device will keep those labels saved, but you wont be able to delete them.
I realized this by going to contacts on Icloud. There those labels that I had on my devices weren't there. So simply restoring your device and configuring it as a new one to later sync your Icloud Contacts, will solve the problem.
I know this post is old, but I might just try this with iOS 8. I have outdated custom labels that annoy me, because I still seem them in the list as options. If I get desperate enough, I may try your solution.

No way to move any buttons in iOS devices.

  • Remove custom label in maveriks contacts

I did some custom labels on iPhone. And now I cannot delete them, not on iphone (ios 7), not on macbook (mavericks)
and even iCloud web interface could not help me.

I was trying to "delete" a misspelled custom label, and couldn't figure out how.  No help on the web or here.  I succeeded by going to the custom labeled item, creating another custom label, and the misspellt (really) one disappeared from the list!!  HTH...

  • How to extract custom label from page item

I´m trying to extract custom labels from a page item -a rectangle in this case-, inside a document observer:
         UIDRef pageItemRef=iCommand->GetItemList()->GetRef(0);
         InterfacePtr<IScript> script(pageItemRef,IID_ISCRIPT);
         IScriptLabel::ScriptLabelKeyValueList tags = script->GetTags();
as sugested here -> http://forums.adobe.com/thread/747080?tstart=0  but I always get script=nil
    Regards

    I solved.
Problem was that I was trying to get IScript interface once observer command was in kDone state -it was a delete command-.
Thus, page items did not exist anymore when I was trying to get their custom labels.
I changed it, making test during kNotDone state.

  • Custom Label Printing - Print position creeps up and across labels

    Hello
I am using VS 2010 and have updated to SP4 for Crystal Reports
I used the custom size option to make a label report. The built in options for label sheets do not match the labels that I have
I made a label report for 3 columns and 8 rows using the label size, margin widths top and bottom, left and right, with the 2 widths between the columns. But this does not print correctly on the labels. The printing on the label rows creep up so by the time you reach the 8th row the label is partly on the 7th Row. The left hand column prints correctly. the middle column prints closer to the left edge of the label than in the first column and the third column is printing on the gap between the 2nd and 3rd column.
I tried making a new report and set the dimensions to the maximum sizes that would allow 24 labels (3 columns and 8 rows) but the same problem occurs as when having set the correct sizes
I am not sure if there is a method to edit the label sizes, and margin widths as happens when creating a new report or if the only option is to create a new report.
Any assistance or information on how to make the labels print with the correct row and column spacing would be appreciated.
My Labels are 67mm x 36mm. there is no space betwwen the rows, the margin at the top and bottom of the sheet are the same, and the left and right margins are the same. The space between the columns is 2mm

Thank you for the reply Rob
There is no Avery template in the list that has 24 labels, which is why I was using the Custom Label
I have tried many variations trying different widths and gaps between the labels, but in all cases by the time the 8th row is printeed the printing has crept up and is now overlapping onto the bottom of the 7th row label. The third column is printing on the gutter between the 2nd and 3rd column.
When creating a Custom label it would appear that the Wizard works on Letter size Paper regardless of the paper size that the printer is set to. All my printers are set to A4 size paper.
Letter Paper is 215.9mm x 279.4mm compared to 210mm x 297mm for A4. While the width is not a problem the length is less, and that may well be what is causing the problem when the Wizard creates the labels, despite changing the Paper size to A4. But the paper size can only be changed and set to A4 after the wizard has been given the label size and spacing for margins and gutters.
In my view the Wizard should ask for the paper size and then ask for the label size settings and layout

  • Custom Label on webform

    Hello,
I'm using Planning 11.1.2.1 and I want to know if theres a way of having a custom label on a webform without having to customize the JSP files? I just want a heading or a label preferably on top of the form or around the page section.
    Regards,
    Imran.

As it is customisation I would think you would need to use something like custom javascript.
    Cheers

  • Order of custom labels on Address Book

When I edit custom labels on telephone field, in a new Card, and save it, the order of custom labels changes everytime I entry in Address Book's Card, apparently in random order.
    Can someone help me?

same problem here. I even trashed my cache and prefs for Address Book, re-opened the application and set up the custom template from scratch. Alas, the order of fields seems completely random once a filled-out card is displayed. Trashing the prefs seemed to help from the standpoint that I can now go in and (very tediously) cut/paste info from the fields (and change the labels accordingly) and it seems to stay in that order once saved. Annoying problem…
Update: Well, it seems that the order is not retained once closing and re-opening the Address Book application. Each time it re-opens, the fields are in a random order. The order of the fields in MobileMe seem slightly more stable, but not completely. Very strange.

  • Truncated custom labels in Address Book problem

When I create a custom label for telephone numbers in Address Book, for eg I change "mobile" to "work mobile", only the first eight or nine characters of this are displayed. The remainder of the label is truncated to ... regardless of the size of the window.
With acres of empty white space to the right of the telephone number, it would be nice to be able to see the entire label. Does anyone know how to do this?
    Thanks,
    Dave.

Thank you for your reply. But I do want to clarify. I am not trying to sync Address Book Groups, but rather custom-named fields from Address Book. The computer program allows you to give your own name to any of the fields on a contact's card. In the example I gave, the single contact card named "GoDaddy" has three custom labels, one for each of the contact people within the company.  Something like this:
    GoDaddy
    Tim - xxx-xxx-xxxx
    Ryan - xxx-xxx-xxxx
    James - xxx-xxx-xxxx
    Main: xxx-xxx-xxxx
Rather than using the standard "mobile", "fax", "home" labels, I've assigned my own values. I'm wondering (and now with significant doubts) if the blackberry will automatically sync those entries.
Soon I will be able to test it myself, but as of now I still do not have access to a blackberry to test this...

  • Custom Labels in Address Book

I've been following the news about Blackberry Desktop for the mac, but I will not have the opportunity to try it for myself until another 2 weeks,  so I hope that the community here will be able to provide the answer to some of the questions that I have not seen answered here yet.
In the Apple Address Book I use custom labels to designate the names of particular contact people within an organization. For instance, on my contact card for  GoDaddy support I have three phone numbers, each with a custom label of the contact person's name.
Has anybody used custom labels in their sync? Is the Blackberry then able to recognize the labels properly?

  • Loss of custom labels in Address Book

I have lost the custom labels for many of my telephone entries in Address Book. This has not affected every contact but has wiped them out for some contacts that had six phone numbers. Now I don't know what the phone numbers are for. Can anyone help?

I have recieved no reply to my question. Could the Apple monitor have a look and let me know what to do. Is there a help manual for Adress Book. The help file attached to the program does not provide any information about custom labels.

  • Syncing custom labels within contacts

On my iPhone, I have quite a few contacts with multiple cell phones, and I have created a lot of customer labels. I've also added notes, dates, etc. When I sync to Outlook, it only syncs the first customer label (as "other"), but none of the rest. And it doesn't sync my additional fields. At one time, I lost all my contacts on my phone, and when I resynced from Outlook, all of this info was missing.
Is there a way to get this info to sync to Outlook? Otherwise, is there another application I can use to sync all of my contact info?
    Thanks.

    Custom Labels are not Alphabetical.
Same problem with my os7 update, and This is a huge hassle, I re-use labels constantly as I travel for work and
I have hundreds of labels in my contacts.
    This is a mess.
The only Good thing I can say is that the 'new' custom label field is finally at the Top of the list of labels.
It used to be at the bottom, meaning I had to scroll thru many many labels to add a new custom label.
So they fixed the tiny little problem and gave us a Massive new problem.

  • How do I get "custom label" button back on Contacts

I used to have "custom label" button for phone number tags on contact list. It is now gone. Any way to get it back. This started on my iPhone 4 and remains on my iPhone 5.
    SOLUTION FOUND !!!
Go into settings and do this:
Settings --> Mail,Contacts,Calendars --> Default account (for Contacts)--> select "On My Phone"
this restored the custom labels button when creating new contacts. Somehow it was set to 'Hotmail" and i guess Hotmail does not support customized labels so it isn't offered when creating new contacts.

That is what i a talking about. When i go to add a new contact and go to edit the label - the generic list of number types is present but the additional list of custom lables is not present - nor the button to create a new one. Some of my contacts do have the custom label present - old contacts created back when the buttons and label types were all there but it is no longer present when creating new contacts or editing contacts that were recently added.

  • Can't sort custom labels in Contacts

It used to be that when you added a Custom Lable in Contacts in iOS, it would show a sorted list of the custom labels you already made for your contacts phone numbers etc. so you could see if you've already made a custom label to avoid duplication.  Now in iOS7, you can add a custom label but you have to scroll down the long list of already entered custom labels that seem to appear in no particular order.  It takes a long time if you already have quite a number of custom labels.  It used to be easy when they were sorted to scroll down to the labels in alphabetical order.  What happened to this feature?
