Custom Layout Set

Hi people.
I am trying to create new, custom layout set, by copying existing sets and adding / removing features.
My target is to create a layout set similar to ConsumerExplorer, but with a small addition - "Search" option.
I have tried to play with the Admin breadcrumb, and also tried to add "Search from here" command through UI Commands, but unsuccessful.
Could anyone please tell me how I can add the "Search" option to ConsumerExplorer without showing the whole admin toolbar?
Points will be awarded, of course.

The standard ConsumerExplorer layout set contains the Search from here command as part of the hover menu of the root element. Can you explain what exactly do you need?

Search result category with a custom layout set?

Greetings,
I've created a nice little search IVIEW with a custom search options set that will display the document category (taxonomy) in the search result (if the resulting document is categorized, of course.) Works great. However there is one little problem. The categories in the search results are hyperlinked and when you select one, you get a new window with the taxonomy rendered in the default layout set (the ConsumerExplorer I think.) Not good. I need this displayed in a custom layout set.
Any ideas how to make this hyperlink use a custom layout set without changing the default?

Hi Paul,
As per my knowledge of the basic s of layout sets and iviews.
You want to change the layout set of the iview(window) which opens when u click the hyperlink.
You should do this:
1)Make a new layout set by customizing the default one.
2)If the iview opening is a standard iview then go to its properties and change the Layout set value to ur new layout.
Please revert in case of issues.

Customizing Layout Set NewsBrowser

Hello, I would like to customize the Layout "NewsBrowser".
I need to show, with my Navigation iview, a folder that contanins N subfolder, each of them stores xml files...
I'd like that my customized "NewsBrowser" shows expanded subfolder (like "LinkListExplorer" do) and their xml files using the right Form.

If I set the LinkListExplorer as Layout set in the root folder the iview cannot shows the Form of my xml Files (as the NewsBrowser does).
I have to use NewsBrowser because it shows the xml files using the form generated with the XML Form Builder.
What I need is to shows ALL the xml files stored in ALL subfolders (I want them all expanded at the same time).
I know that I have to modify the NewsBrowser's settings (or its Collection Renderer's settings) but I don't know witch parameter I have to change..
Could you help me please?

KM Folders options setting (Custom Layout Set) ???

Hi All,
We are working on EP 7.0 (NW04s SP10).
We have a KM repository. (As a File system).
It has some default options as:
Content Management > KM content > Documents > right click & go to details.
And we will get the default options as View Actions Collaboration Settings & few more sub-options under that.
Now My Question is: How to disable some of these options?
Do we have to create separate Custom layout?
(e.g:- I would like to disable the option of Send To)

Hi,
The Details screen's menu contains several command groups. You just have to remove the command from the appropriate command group.
It is better if you create your own layoutset for that.

Layout Set not working

Hi all,
I am trying to fulfill a requirement here which is to hide the "Edit Header" control on the Banner iView. I found out that this is defined in the "Components" property in the HTML Collection Renderer Settings. When i omit the component on this property, the Banner iView hides the control. So far, so good.
Now, as i need 2 instances of the layout set (one with the component and other without) i did this:
1) Copied the layout set to a custom one
2) Copied the HTML Renderer to a custom one
3) Omitted the component on the custom HTML Renderer
4) Changed the renderer on the custom layout set to point to the new renderer
5) Copied the Banner iView and customized it on the property "Layout Setting", putting the name of the custom layout set.
And this won't work! When i use this iView, instead of showing the Banner and Title, it shows a KM navigation structure with the Images directory (base directory of Banners). Do you know what may be wrong? I am sure that the problem occurs when i change the iView property to point to the custom layout set. But what is wrong?

How to force a Custom Layout in the links sent by e-mail ?

For customizing the final user´s view for Discussion Groups,
I created a custom Layout Set "myDiscussionGroupsContributor"
that references a custom Collection List Renderer
"myDiscussionGroupWithoutTopicsContributorCollectionListRenderer"
that references a custom Command "my_join_discussion_thread_contributor"
that has a custom Layout Set assigned "mySingleDiscExplorerContributor".
When accessing the discussions via the final users it works fine
(I´ve already corrected the "Back" link problem acording thread
problem with discussion group contributor iview)
The problem is that when I send a discussion via e-mail
to another user using the "send to" command,
the received link opens the discussion using the default
"DiscussionGroupsContributor", in fact, the e-mail´s HTML code
contains the property "rndLayoutSet=SingleDiscExplorerContributor"
as noted in the following href element:

I solved the problem, so here I post the steps for the solution I found.
1) Modify the Object Type Definitions:
In the CM Repository there is a folder root > etc > oth.
There you have to change the LayoutSet settings in the following files
(I don´t know if it is necessary to modify all of them):
     - discussion_post.oth
     - discussion_topic.oth
     - discussion.oth
     - discussiongroups_items.oth
     - discussionPostType.oth
     - discussionType.oth
     - dscGroupsCollType.oth
     - dscGroupsItemsType.oth
2) Then you have to reload de OTH settings:
In the Content Management configuration (System Administration >
System Configuration > Content Management)
go to User Interface > Debugging Settings and edit the configuration.
Add your user id to "UI Superusers" then enable
"Enable Rendering Information" and save.
Then go to a KM and clic on "Rendering Information"
(If the link doesn´t appear, refresh your window).
A new window opens, clic in "OTH-Overview"
and then in the new window click on "Reload".
Finally close all popup windows and go to the
Debugging Settings again to disable the checkbox
"Enable Rendering Information"

Customize the layout set used when opening a folder in search result list?

Hi,
I have created a search result iView that uses a predefined search query to show a list of folders. If I click on a folder (rnd:displayname(contentLink)) its content is displayed in a new window. Here the layout set Consumer Explorer (default profile?) is used.
I want to use a custom layout set in this window. How can I achieve this?

Normally, as you can see in the above mentioned <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/25/59bb2eece725498427334e0e21b80c/content.htm">Priority of Settings</a>, whenever the KM Navigation component (com.sap.km.cm.navigation) is opened without a specific layout set the global default layout set is used. As you can give this parameters by different ways (as URL parameter, in the KM Navigation iView configuration, via OTH file definition, hardcoded or configured in the configuration of an UI Command, etc.) it is nearly impossible to find all situation where your users will get this default profile.
The UI Commands (with selection) you mentioned like "copy","move","create_link" use the configured LayoutSet (ConsumerOnlyFolderSelector) from the KM Configuration (of the command).

Of course. One other possibility I have in mind is to work with OTH files. You might also search here on SDN to see how to use them for setting the layout set for specific folder paths.

Translation of layout set properties

Hello,
I created a custom layout set to display customized properties: size, date of creation and date of last modification.
All is good, except that i need to translate column headers to different languages. I added them in collection renderer settings (displayed proeprties: contentlength, created, modified)
I know how to do translate using Portal Content Translation, but these translation are for portal content items only. How do i translate those i.e column header names)
Any help will be appreciated!

Requirement based Layout Set

Hi,
Our user has following requirements for an iview appearance.The iview (let us suppose it a km navigation iview)
is pointing to one folder.It shows all documents internal to the Folder.There should be no context menu as these documents are meant for readers not for editors (we have a different iview for editors).
The Problem is sometimes there can be folders internal to the folder, in that case we are not able to come back as there is no breadcrumb bar.Presently we are using NewsBrowser Layout.
At last I want to summarise the requirements
1) The Documents or Folders should not have context menu.
2) the list of documents should appear as links.
3) there should be breadcrumb bar available so as there are folders internal to folders + Documents and we need to come back to the Folder again.
Note: the News Browser Layout is fulfilling all the requirements apart from the fact that it is not showing breadcrumb bar.
It would be nice if we can change this Layout by adding breadcrumb bar.I have tried this by changing the Collection renderer but not success full.
Please suggest any Layout which can fulfill these requirements.Otherwise please suggest how can we create a customized Layout set for fulfilling above requirements

Go to System Administration --> System Configuration --> Knowledge Management --> Content Management --> User Interface --> Settings --> Layout set.
Search for the layout set you want to add the collection renderer to using the "Apply Filter" option.
Edit your Layout set.
When you click on edit after choosing a layout set, you will see a property called "Collection renderer" in the layout set definition. It is a table with lots of entries. Scroll down to your collection renderer and click on the checkbox next to it.
Then Save the Layout set.
This should add the collection renderer to the layout set.

In this Five Screen area is MenuTreeListPreviewLayoutController, I want List in Left side, i want preview area (no flavor) in right side, like content area in our portal. how can i do this?
Layout control property is Java Class, Where it is deployed..

I have modifed the java class. and created layout controller and assigned that controller to customized layout set. In that I have listed the files in left side, file click shows preview in right side.
when i am assigning the customized layout set to folder through presentation option. It showing files with context menu (not showing size, lock, modified and modifedBy because i have removed these in collection renderer), getting preview in right side. fine.. this is what i expected.
But I have created KM Navigation iView, I have given customized layout set name in layout set property. When I Preview the iView, It showing the files and folder with context menu, and also size, lock, modified and modifiedBy.
Why it is showing when i use the layout set in iView property? (but it is not showing when in use the same layout set through presentation) How can i solve this issue..

Sorting with layout set for NewsBrowser and custom made properties

I have developed some custom made properties that is used for each document based on XML Form. But how can I obtain a custom sorting order based on my properties.
After created a document I define some properties for company, department and process. And using the layout set for NewsBrowser I will have my documents sorted due to my processes. Lets say that I have set the properties for the process for some documents, e.g. SA1010, SA1010-1, SA1010-1a, how to obtain this sorting order in a KM-Navigation-iView using layout set for NewsBrowser?

Hi Kay-Arne,
A namespace defines a system area in which a property (defined by a property ID) is allowed to exist only once. So for your own predefined properties you should use an own namespace in order to be able to use a Property ID that is already available in another namespace. Check this link for more info:

In the Property Definition you later use the Namespace Alias. This alias (with ":PropertyID") you would also use in the LayoutSet Parameter mentioned above.

I have created jspdynpage application for getting documents fron Km Folder. i have done this, but i want to set "Context Menu" for link (documents) in that iview. How can i do this.. I have added property called Layout Set for my iview and assign layout Set , but no effect. How to assign layout set for custom developed iview???

I cant use KM Navigation iView, because I am listing members, each member should be a link.. this link is not possible in KM navigation..

Problem to set the custom layout as the default layout in std. transaction

I want to change the standard layout that is displayed in a standard transaction (EL31) as default. I want few more fields of the structure also to be displayed in the default layout of the standard transaction. I have made a custom layout that i want to be displayed but cant make that layout as the default layout for all users. Customizing parent folder link options in DiscussionForum Layout set

Hi All,
I have created a forum page with discussionForum layout set.Now, it shows the discussion groups inside it with parent folder link at the top.this parent folder link has some options like view,coolaboration,details etc which I need to customize...
By parent folder I mean like if A has x,y,z discussion groups:
If you click on x then, parent folder link changes to:
A-->x...there is a option menu just besides this link which I need to customize.
Can anyone give a clear idea to this problem??

Pls follow the below steps,
1. Go to sys admin> sys configuration> Knowledgemanagement --> content management -- >user interface.> settings> layout set
2. Search for Discussion layout set and open it.
3. In Collection renderer field, click on the link discussion group bread crumb
4. In the subsequent window, click on the collection command group : discussiongroupbreadcrumbcommandgroup.
5.in the next window, edit the command list field as per your requirement and save.
