There is some specific requirment that create new custom object along with relation ship.

I have created New object and relation ship as suggested by you and I am able to save the record.
But when I went to Overview of the custom object for IT 1001 I am getting one stranage error "No time constraint exists for key 30001O 500215341001A 1 200901019999123199500354"
On the above error 50021534 Org. unit object (O), 50035486 is Custom object (99).
I have maintained TC for AXXX & BXXX as a 3 of subtype 1001 in table V_T777ZVK.
Please tell me where I did mistake.

Related information - custom object 1

On Custom object 1, I have a related information tab. There you can add records from this Custom object to others on the same object. (entity name is contracts, in the company there are parent contracts and child contracts). At the moment I can link one (child-)contract to another, but it will only show this on the contract you have actively added the other record to.
How can I arrange that the newly added related contract is automatically added on the other contract as well? Thanks in advance!

You need something similar to Account Partners, where you can set the reverse relationship. This is not configurable. Contact Customer Care and create an enhancement request.

Unable to set up the default value in custom object 10,related item section

Please help me out for the below issue
Custom Object 10 we renamed to Quarterly Broker Review .In Quarterly Broker Review there is a related item section 'Activity'.
In Quarterly Broker Review ,Activity related Section ,After clicking on The 'New Task' button 'Account Name' field in Quarterly Broker Review(Parent ) should be prefilled in the Activity Section(Related Item Section) in Account Name Field
'Account Name' field is a Picklist Read Only field.
Since it is a picklist read only field i couldn't write the expression in the 'Activity' Related section under 'Account Name' field

Hi Srinivas,
As you know, you can refer to a field in a different object by using JoinFieldValue function. But this function is not available for all the object references. If you refer online help for JoinFieldValue function you would notice that from activity only CustomObjects 1,2 an 3 can be referenced using this function.
If this is possible for the activity and CustomObject 10 then you go to the field named Account Id in Activity object and set a default value. I guess in the parent object "CustomObject10" Account Id will also be stored in "Account: Integration ID". So this field value can be copied into the Account Id field of Activity.
Instead you could write a web service program to achieve this.

Write formula on custom object the related info fields

Hello,
We have a custom object attached to service request as related info. We don't use fields appear under the related info, which are quick search 1, 2. Would it be possible we write a syntax to their default value so they will copy from other fields of the same custom object?
for example, i tried to wrote the default value of quick search 1 as
" [<Type>] ", but it didn't work. :P

Would like to Update customer relation ship (KNVP )

Customer data (sold to / ship to / customer group) is there in KNA1 table but relation ship is missing.
I would like to import customer relation ship (like ZG/WE for PARVW) in KNVP table, please suggest the API . I tried CUSTOMER_UPDATE but got error.

The FM CUSTOMER_INSERT is an update task function module, this FM is called by standard report along with other such modules after every check has been performed, it does nothing more than direct database update and MUST not be used in custiomer reports.

Knowing/Replicating all related Customized objects (z-objects)

hi,
recently i had to sync a particular object in two systems. the object was present in one system, i had to replicate it in other.
but while replicating i forgot to send some part of object (t-code and texts).
also it was very challenging to find out all the customized objects which were called / were required to replicate as well in order to run my original object successfully.
so, what i want to know is, is there any transaction code / report which can give me all z-objects related to one object if i just want to replicate it in other system.
i had tried SE80 to get the entire list, but its insufficient when i want to replicate a user exit.

i guess SE80 is the only way to get all related objects

Custom Objects - defaulting 'Name' to have relate list sort nicely :)

I am attempting to use a custom object to store various information. I see that 'Name' is a required field. It also seems that it is the Name field which is used to sort the related list. Any suggestions on how to automatically populate the NAME field? I would relaly like it to be the same and another picklist field which is on the screen.

Problem is that 'Name' is a required field and post value will not work.
If I set the 'Name' to a pre default, the value I want to use has not yet been selected by the user. The sorting on these related objects is messy.

Using a Custom Object to allow an Entity to link to itself

Hey folks,
Have a feeling the answer to this is No, but have to ask anyway.
Is there any way that anyone is aware of to use a Custom Object to link an Entity to itself? For example... We have a CO (Custom Object) which is linked to Service Request. I want to link this CO to Service Request again, allowing one Service Request to be linked to another Service Request via the CO. I can obviously link Service Request to the CO, but the second link doesn't seem likely.

You can link multiple Service Requests to a single Custom Object (1-3) very easliy. Just expose SRs under related items on the Custom Object and adjust Access Profiles appropriately. Alternately, you can add Custom Objects to related items on the Service Request page layout so SRs can be linked to multiple COs.
In the end, you can end up with one CO linked to multiple SRs. This should give you what you are looking for - there may be more elaborate solutions involving multiple advanced custom objects.
The key, of course, is how you need this data to be viewed or reported on. You'll need to assess this solution to see if the output is what you require.

Many to Many with Custom Objects 4 and up

Pls. I need to define a new CO4 that will have a many to many relationship with Contact.
From OD help pg.775 I understand that I should use another CO (f.ex. CO5) to be the intersection. Help file indicates how to rename the objects...and put them in the related info. section... but I don´t know what FIELDS (if any) I should define in the intersection CO5.
Pls. Anyone could help ?

Yes. You have to define them in CO5 Layout.
You should see Name, Contact and Custom Object 04 (you may have renamed it). Not the Id field.
Then when you add THE CO5 layout to Contact Related section, you can add new association between Contact and CO4.
Don't forgot to enable the Access Profiles in Contact, CO4 and CO5.

Auto-populate fields in Custom Object Based on Another Record

Hello,
I am hoping to auto-populate a few default values in a new Custom Object record based on an associated Lead record. The layout is this:
I use the Lead record to take care of most of the information in the sales stages until the product is sold. The Lead record has fields to record information for a one product sale. The sales person can then use the Custom Object (called 'GX Additional Product') (which shows up in the Related Information section of the Lead record) to add additional items to a sales order request. Many of the fields in the GX Additional Product (custom object) record are identical to fields already filled out in the Lead record.
What I would like to do, is when a new GX Additional Product (custom object) is added to the Lead record, those identical fields already filled out in the Lead record, by default, populate the corresponding fields in the new GX Additional Product (custom object) record.
Is this possible? Is this something that can be done with JoinFieldValues? If so, I've had a bit of confusion trying to set up a JoinFieldValues expression.

Hi,
You can use JoinFieldValue to Custom Objects from other entities, cause you will have other objects' ID recorded inside the CO's, when you open a new detail record associated with the parent. Make sure your custom object is showing as a detail section (N:1) into lead´s main page. Try with one field first, using the exact syntax provided at samples listed at product documentation.

Org unit relation ship periods

Dear All,
Scenario:-
I have created a root or unit,under this root org unit i have created additional org units but the validity period box contains to validity periods are there.
organisational unit :
Link text string :
The above two will be displayed as Object period and relationship period on the screen.
Here my doubt is if i enter the date for organisational unit beyond the root organisational unit its allowing but in case of link text string(relationship period) its not allowing.
can any body explain the logic behind this issue.

Hi,
System will allow you to create Any number of Org units as the sys doesnot know which is the root org unit , Sub unit but when your maitaing relation ship it will check based the relation your goping to assign.

Set Default Value based on Field from another table for a custom object

I'm trying to set the default value on a custom object field to the value of an account field. I have tried the syntax 50 different ways, and just am getting no where. The account field label displays as DBA, the integration tag is ltDBA_ACCT, and it shows up in reporting fx area as Account.Text_22.
The custom object field I'm triying to update is also called DBA, which was originally the "NAME" required field. Does the table name, Account, have to be included? Do I need a function in front of the field?
I have been updating the external ID using the row ID with syntex <ID> (Less than ID greater than) so I know it is possible to set the Default Value, but <DBA>, <ltDBA_ACCT>, "Account"."DBA", and so on just don't not work.
If anyone knows how to enter this I'd really appreciate the help.

Ok, so if you want to default a field to the value from another object, you have to use the JoinFieldValue function. I think you understand that, based on your original post, but I want to be sure that you do.
Next, this will only work as a default if the record is created from the object that you wish to join on because a default works at record creation and the ID needs to be available for it to work properly. It will not work if you choose the related object record after the custom object record is created. You could set the value as a post-default, but that does not seem to meet your requirements.
The syntax for the Default Value would be as follows: JoinFieldValue(ref_record_type, foreign_key, field_name).
In your case, ref_record_type is '<Account>', foreign_key is [<AccountId>], and field_name is '<YourFieldName>'. The best way to determine what the field name is would be to create a new workflow for Account and use the Workflow Rule Condition expression builder to pick your field ("DBA") from the list. The value that is returned by the expression builder should be placed in the field_name variable in the JoinFieldValue function (minus the brackets and in single quotes).
Give this a shot and let me know how you do.

I was under the impression that scenegraph is like a JTree. But in JavaFX only leaf node rendering in scenegraph. This situation was confusing my mind. In JavaFX CustomNode must be extending and return a group for custom leaf. If we want to a create parent-child node hierarchy we are create CustomNode that return a group and this group contain an another group,etc. So there is maybe only a way. If you learning to JavaFX first time.This way don't look familiar.

Question for making Report of Custom Object(01)

We use Custom Object 01 for Comment under the Calendar(Activity) Screen.
- Objective :
1. We want to manage Comment that are made by Manager after closing Sales Activity
2. But, we can't manage Comment history in Calendar(Activity) Details because it is remained Last Comment in Details
3. So, we use Custom Object 01 for Comment
- Problem & Question :
1. We can manage Comment history under Calendar(Activity) Screen
2. But, we can't make Report Comment Report related with Account, Contact
3. So, we want to know
a. Are there no relationship Custom Object 01(Comment) with Account, Contact in Calendar(Activity) Screen
b. If we have to make Comment Report related with Account, Contact, how to make it?

Your question is not clear. Do you want CO 1 to be related to Account, Contact and Activity? Or not? And what exactly is the reporting question?
Custom Object 1 is available for Real-Time reports. The Custom Object 1 subject area allows you to report on CO along with the related Accounts, Activities, Contacts, Leads, Opportunities, and Service Requests.

Is it possible to have an adress field with a Custom Object?

Hello,
I would like to link a service request to an account and an intermediary such as a travel agency. But the original datamodel only allow one account per Service Request.
So, I have created a custom object (Intermediary) that should have similar relations with other objects than the Account one. With this object, I will be allowed to link my two accounts to the SR. But I would like to insert an address field in my custom object. Unfortunately, this kinf of custom field type is not available...
Is there any solution to have one? Or is there another solution I could use to link 2 accounts to a Service Request?

We had the same problem. Decided to use one of the new custom objects (CO-05) for this purpose. The drawback of using it this way is the lack of automatic formating of the address lines by country selected like you get with accounts and contacts. On the good side, you can designate fields for use in interfacing with your external business system, i.e. Oracle eBS, JDE, etc.
We also added a link to this to bring up a modified Customers On Line form from Oracle eBS that gives us a view of the Quotes, Orders, Service Requests, Installed Base, Invoices and Credit Memos by customer party id number contained in eBS. This is what we call a 360 degree view of the customer.
