Custom Page Labels
Hello All,
Is it possible to label each page non-sequentially in an InDesign document? I have a document that has product on each page, which each item has it's own SKU. I would like to label the pages in the InDesign document with the SKU number. Some of the SKUs are words but mainly they are numerical up to 7 digits.

The pages in the Pages panel can display section prefixes, so you could make each page or spread a section (Numbering and Section Options, from the Pages panel flyout menu.) However, you'd need to manually type the SKU for each section prefix. PLUS, unwanted extra feature: page numbering isn't sequential from first document page, so you'd need to use one of the fake page-numbering strategies that have appeared on this forum. You'll find at least one if you search Google for terms like "Search Google for terms like "InDesign numbering pages with list of numbers" without quotes. David Blatner's Lynda.com video is the firsts hit.
Perhaps scripting could manage breaking the document into sections of one page, or a spread, as well as naming the section previxes.
You might want to rethink this as a TOC that extracts and displays the SKU and generates the page number. If the SKUs aren't independent paragraphs, you'd need one of the strategies that employs hidden paragraph text on a layer, with a condition, non-printing attribute, etc. Search Google for terms like "InDesign hiding text for toc table of contents," without quotes.

Sometimes the obvious takes a while to bubble up. Create a GIANT running header text variable for the SKUs on a new layer. The SKUs must have a style for the variable to capture; Single paragraph SKUs can work with a paragraph style variable, or SKUs within other text would need a character style, for a character style variable.
Show the GIANT SKUs layer to track them in the Pages panel, and hide the layer (or condition) when you're done tracking.

This error indicated that the property is not exist in the UserProfile properties. I think you need first to check out the "ZipCode" has been created in your default user profile.

Help with custom page size support for non standard paper
Firstly, we appreciate any support you may be able to provide, we have already thrown considerable effort at this and it has been very time consuming and frustrating.
To support a number of business functions need to print to (non standard) continuous and mulitpart paper on a dot matrix printer. The (test) Mac is a 10.4.11 G4 laptop, the printer is an Oki Microline 520 (9 pin 80 column, IBM Proprinter, Microline or Epson FX personalities with a parallel interface) which has been networked via a HP JetDirext Ex Plus print server. That part appears to be operating correctly.
We have tried a number of drivers / printer personalities with varying levels of success:
ESP / EPSON 9-Pin Series CUPS v1.1 / Epson FX personality
ESP / OKIDATA 9-Pin Series CUPS v1.1 / Oki Microline personality
Ghostscript / epsonc / Epson Dot Matrix Foomatic PPD / Epson FX personality
Ghostscript / ibmpro / IBM ProPrinterII Foomatic PPD / IBM Proprinter personality
Ghostscript / okiibm / Oki Microline IBM compatible 9 pin Foomatic PPD / IBM Proprinter personality
There were no appropriate drivers in Gutenprint (5.2.3 version) The most successful is the okiibm / Oki Microline IBM compatible 9 pin settings, it can print A4 and honors the Printer Features Resolution settings in the print dialogue.
Q1: Should we see anything in the Printer Info / Installable Option, it is always blank ?
The issue is custom page sizes, we can manage / add Custom Pages Sizes via the Page Setup / Paper Size interface and they draw on the screen OK but they do not work at the printer (various issue at the printer such error messages, junk printing and wrong orientation):
Q2: Are we heading in the right direction or is there a better way to handle this ?
Q3: Would 10.5 solve all our problems, are the print drivers any better ?
Q4: Is this the correct way to specify custom page sizes, is this all we need to do ?
Q5: Is so how do we get the driver to respect the size, do we need another filter or something ?
Q6: Is it possible to add (by hand) custom page sizes to the ESP drivers or Foomatic PPD files so they they appear as a "standard" offering in the Page Setup / Paper Size interface ?

The Oki 9-pin Series 1.3 and the Epson 9-Pin Series 1.3 should produce the same results. The only difference in the PPDs is the printer model name.
After some testing, I find that the output is not the same despite the two PPDs being virtually identical. I did spot in the CUPS source code for the rastertoepson filter that there is some model name matching for Epson printers. Thus I can see where the output using the Oki 9-pin PPD could be different than when using the Epson 9-pin PPD.
but again once I imbedded the page size into the ppd some (but frustrating) luck. I can get it to respect the paper orientation and it prints well but I could not get the form length to work properly. At best over a print run of 7 labels it would creep up the label by about 0.1 inches / 2 mm.
Just for the fun of it, I made some additions to the Epson 9-pin 1.3 PPD. All I can say is that I could print a job to file. I have no way to know what it would look like on paper.
I did find that using a custom paper size did add some unwanted margins to the output bounding box. Putting the custom page size into the PPD seemed to get around that issue.
I added the following lines to the Epson 9-pin PPD 1.3--

This adds a paper size with the 4 inch (288pt) width and 1.5 inch (107.8pt) height. That represents the 1.4 inch label and the 0.1 inch gap between labels. I set 0pt margins except for the bottom where is set the 0.1 inch (7pt) gap as the bottom margin.

Social comment control in custom page layout stucks at "Working" for read access users
Hi,
I created a custom page layout which is attched to my custom content type.
i have a custom field control which is derived from RichImageField.
i have also added a social comment control to the page layout using
<SharePointPortalControls:SocialCommentControl ID="SocialCommentControl1" runat="server" />.
Now the problem is, an user who have read access for a pages library should post comments. but its not working and when the user clicks post button it stucks at working. but when the user is given contribute access then it works and the comments are posted.
And one more thing is if i remove my custom field control from the page layout, then user with read access can post the comment without any issues.
i am sure the issue is caused by my custom field control but dont know how to solve it. i dont want to give contribute access to the users as they can edit the content of the page also. Any help would be appreciated.

It sounds like you’ve installed the cloud one which Adobe makes very easy to do, hoping you’ll signup for the cloud.
Assuming you have a serial-number from your purchase, you should uninstall the cloud-licensed LR trial, and then install the serial-number-licensed version from the Adobe Updates page and input the serial number:

All the VO ,EO are valid. Imported the page into DB successfully, all the files are in JAVA_TOP (*.zip) , bounced the apache.
Worked before in different instance, I think I am missing a step....

Custom page layouts are not getting displayed in ribbon
Hi,
I have created a custom page layout under welcome category. This is getting displayed in pages library while creating a page and also in page layout option from site settings which is fine. But when a page is in edit mode if we click page->page layouts
from ribbon, all the default page layouts are getting displayed except my custom page layout.

Chaitanya.you have a subsite in a site collection •the publishing feature is activated in the subsite, but not in the site collection •you want to edit/add page layouts on the site collection level, to be used within your subsite •when you open the site collection
in SharePoint Designer, you can't see Page Layouts in the Site Objects panel You now have 2 options: you can either activate the publishing feature in the site collection (and the Page Layouts link comes back), or you can use the All Files link and browse
to the master pages and page layouts library (_catalogs > masterpage.) Either option will do, unless you really don't want the publishing feature in the site collection.
To fix the issue go to Site Actions -> Site Settings in the upper left corner.
Under "Site Collection Administration" click on "Site Collection Features".
Look for "SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure" and activate it. It might take a moment to load.
Next return to "Site Settings" and click on "Manage Site Features"

Z3200 won't print to custom page size
Hello,
I've created a banner that is 23"w x 82"h (in CorelDraw Suite 4). The page setup of the Corel file is 23" w x 82"h. I've been trying to print it on the z3200 designjet, but have had no luck. I created several custom page sizes (23" x 82", 24" x 85", 24" x 82") using both the "Printer Properties" dialogue within CorelDraw as well as adding a "Form" in the "Print Server Properties", none of them work. I've set the correct paper (24" wide HP Bright White Bond, feeding from the roller) on the actual printer itself, and in the Printer Properties.
I've played around with all of the different settings that I can and sometimes see the following error message:
[1/1]Paper size selected (width:23.00 inches, height: 82.00 inches) is larger than loaded paper (width: 24 inches). Please verify your printer setup.
When the page prints, it is resizing the content to be 8.5" wide.
I don't know what I'm missing. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Error while trying to open custom page
Hi,
I am getting error message "You have encountered an unexpected error. Please contact the System Administrator for assistance. " while trying to access the new custom page i developed.
i have imported the page definition to MDS and copied all the .class and xml files to appropriate directories in $JAVA_TOP
i am able to view the page definition using command

1. How to use default RTE in custom page in Sharepoint hosted app.
I saw the article of Rich text Editor (ribbon based) in a webpart in SharePoint 2013 and tried it. But it did not work well. I guess it needs code-behind setting, however sharepoint hosted app does not support code-behind.
Does anybody know how to do this?

Passing value of View Attribute from standard page to custom page
Hi everyone,
I have a custom page which needs to be called from a standard page. Now this custom page is based on some parameters whose value will depend on the dynamic selection by user. So how to get the currently executed value from VO.
For ex: Vendor Id , contact id and site Id all are to be fetched which are present in three different VOs. When user select particular vendor, contact and site these values will change accordind to selection.
Here do I need to extend the controller and application module of the standard page or it can be done by passing parameters in destination URI of submit button.
I tried using parameters in destination URI of submit button as {VO.ViewAttributeName} and printing in custom page but it was printing " {VO.ViewAttributeName}" as it is.
Please help..

How can you create a customized page to change user password?
Hello to all,
I would like to create a customized page for a user to change their password. We are using Portal version 3.0.9 on Windows NT/2000. Currently there is a page in portal where a user can change their password.
I tried linking to that page by copying the shortcut url and adding it as an html portlet. The problem is that we want to direct the users to a
page of our choosing when they click on the "cancel" and "ok" buttons. I read in the forums that there is a selfreg.cmd script.
I also read that there is some code that has been available.
Has anyone implemented a customized user password change page? Do you know of any links that might have steps to follow or
more informatioin?

How to add a custom page in WF process?
Hi,
I have to add a custom page in a workflow process. The process is a copy of a seeded WF process.
There are 3-4 seeded pages in the process. Now I want to insert my page in between them.
Like you ppl know, this is how the seeded process works:
A function node is present and we can see "HR Activity Type" value in Node Attributes tab. This value will be present in regionMap.xml in PER_TOP/mds. This is how the page's path and node is mapped.
Similarly if I create a new node, how can I map my custom page. It wont be present in regionMap.xml

I know its been a while since you had posted this, but I have a few questions. I am working on something very similar. I have created a custom OAF page that I would like to launch from HR Line Manager Self Service. When I followed your suggestion of "HR Activity Type" = Page, and "HR Activity Type value" = name the AOL registered function, it brings up a blank page for me. Any idea why that might be?
When the manager clicks the "Action" icon next to the selected employee, it starts the WF and my node is the first one in the WF process. But instead of showing my custom OAF page, it shows a blank page that reads "Create Process". Does it make any difference whether the node is inserted between existing nodes or if its the first one? Did you have to write anything in the processRequest of your CO ? I have not yet added the suggested wfaactivity call in my PFR, but since my page is not displaying in the first page, I figure the PFR logic doesn't matter at this point.
Can you share the exact values for your node attributes if you don't mind, and if there's anything specific to WF you had added in your PR of the CO?
