Custom palette LV86 to LV2009

I created a custom palette in LV86 by following the step in this KB How Can I Distribute a Custom LabVIEW Palette from My Computer to Others.  Everything is fine in LV86.
On the same computer, I copied the directory Exaprom from:
     C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.6\vi.lib\
     to
     C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2009\vi.lib\
I copied also the file exaprompdf.mnu from
     C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 8.6\menus\Categories\Programming\
     to
     C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2009\menus\Categories\Programming\
When I start LV2009, one link is missing.  The path of this VI is:
     C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2009\user.lib\Exaprom PDF\VIs\Text\Set Default Font.vi
     instead of
     C:\Program Files\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2009\vi.lib\Exaprom\Exaprom PDF\VIs\Text\Set Default Font.vi
Previously, this toolkit was located in the user.lib, maybe I forgot to delete something?

I am ashamed...
The link for the file "Document.mnu" is the problem.
I lost 3 hours with this!

  • Custom palette for vi's not under LabVIEW

    i've created a very nice custom palette for our vi's. i've created dir.mnu files for each directory. everything is ok if the user installs the vi's under instr.lib.
    however, our installer has the option of installing them some place. if the the vi's/mnu files are not installed under the LabVIEW directories, our vi's don't show up on the palette.
    is there any way of telling LabVIEW where these files are so they show up?

    This is true. However what JKI Package Manager will do for you is to automate and manage the process of adding the VIs to the LabVIEW directories. The source code itself can be saved in an external source code control system and the development can take in wahtever directory you would like. The deployed versions/packages would be added to the NI directories. Is there a particular reason the files should be stored in a custom directory?

  • Exporting .gif with Custom Palette

    Trying to publish an animated .gif with a custom palette but
    regardless of my settings the finished file reverts to Web 216
    colors.
    What am I doing wrong?

    Ah ok - could use something like that.
    I have a bunch of book covers and I setup an indesign template for them to have eBook stickers, and 30% off etc.
    Every time I update the books, or the stickers, I have to rename the entire set of books manually.
    I guess I should really setup a Photoshop Action... but I want others to be able to update the images handily if I'm not here and the InDesign method seems to be the simplest for most people to get their heads around.

  • Kuler Custom Palette Flexibilty

    Hello people,
    I have allready have a custom palette. For me the colors i picked looks very much harmonious with each other aside from traditional harmony rules. So i like my own color relation way. The problem is i want to change my base color to change all while keeping the old relation ship between all. Is there a way to do it?
    I am asking because in custom mode even if you change your base color others are not changing according to the previous relationship. In custom mode it loses its relation ship feeling. Is it because of lack of a function or is there any way to cope with it.
    Any help will be really great

    You make a good request. Unfortunately, Kuler doesn't have the ability to "lock" the relationship between custom colors in a color theme. That only exists for the 6 color harmonies that Kuler has. However, if you have Illustrator CS3 or CS4, you can do what you describe easily by creating a color group of any colors you like, and then double click on the group to edit it in the Recolor Artwork dialog box -- there's a lock icon there that will allow you to adjust the base color while keeping the harmony intact.

  • Datamerge Preview in custom palette?

    Fellow scripters,
    I'm building a bunch of new applications to help improve our productivity of our graphics department and eliminate some tedium.
    One application is a custom datamerge palette that allows users to change just the information they edit often, such as the bottom margin and the space between rows/columns. Instead of manually entering the numbers in edittext fields, my palette has nice +/- buttons.
    However, the great thing about InDesign's datamerge panel is the wonderful 'preview' checkbox, which I can't figure out how to code! I figured there may be a method in the DOM that I'm completely not seeing.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks in advance,
    Mike

    You can display the panel and check the checkbox:
    app.panels.item("$ID/DataMergePanelName").visible=true;
    app.menus.item("$ID/DataMergeUIPanelPopup").menuItems.item("$ID/Preview Records").associatedMenuAction.invoke();
    app.panels.item("$ID/DataMergePanelName").visible=false;
    Awkward to be sure.

  • Custom Color Palette

    I work with several sites that use very similar colors, which
    I find myself using over and over again. How can I save a set of
    custom colors to a palette and bring it up for use at a later
    date?

    Open the Swatches palette menu and select the Clear Swatches
    option.
    Click in the Fill color box on the tools panel and drag the
    built in
    color picker to a color you want to select for your custom
    palette.
    Once you click on the color, move the color picker over to
    the swatches
    panel, where it becomes a paint bucket cursor.
    Click in the Swatches panel to add the selected color.
    Repeat until you've built your entire custom palette.
    Open the Swatches panel menu again and choose Save Swatches.
    Name your palette and save it somewhere on your hard drive.

  • Custom Component Palette

    Hi,
    I want to know how can I create my component palette with differents controls. I want that my palette has several JSF components (JSF HTML and ADF Faces Core).
    For example, in my custom palette I have a Table (of ADF Faces Core), a InputText (of ADF Faces Core) and a PanelGrid (of JSF HTML).
    How can I do that? It is possible?
    Thanks
    Diego

    In Tools -> Configue Palette I can only create Component Palette of the following types (css, java, oxd_usc and snippet), but I can't add JSF Components in this types.
    How can I add JSF components in this types?
    Or, which is the type (css, java, oxd_usc, snippet or other) used for add JSF components?
    Thanks
    Diego

  • Custom color-palette keeps becoming read-only and will not let me add new swatches

    I need to make a custom colour palette for work that i can open on different adobe programs, share with others and add new swatches to as I go. I create a custom palette, save it a custom name but whenever I re-open it, it has become a read-only palette and I can no longer add custom swatches to it. How do I get around this problem if I need to keep adding colours to my custom palettes?
    Thanks

    In case you need to keep swatches from the ASE:
    create a new document
    empty the swatches panel
    add all the swatches from the ASE into that document's swatches panel
    add new colors as swatches
    from the swatches panel's menu select "save library"
    Also see the manual on creating swatches.

  • Custom color palettes

    I'm looking for a way to store custom palettes within DW. I want to store and be able to call up a palette or list of custom colors for various sites. The OS color pickers are useless for this.
    My company has specific hex/rgb values defined in our brand standards. I've created palettes for Photoshop & Illustrator and it's easy to load them and apply them to layers, objects, type, etc. I'd like to be able share them with Dreamweaver. If this isn't possible, then I'd like to create, store and share with other desingers.
    I they can't be imported somehow from Photoshop/Illustrator, I want to be able to create and save them with custom names so I can easily call them up when I'm editing a CSS file. I've been trying to use the Assets panel but that's grayed out in the CSS file. If I use it in HTML it wants to create a new CSS declaration through a dialog which is not useful for me.
    I could use Snippets instead I suppose. I've tried the Kuler extension which is quirky. It's fine for limited palettes of five colors but I need more.
    I feel that either I'm missing something or this is a real gap in the Dreamweaver feature set. Any advice appreciated!

    Thanks Jon. The OS color dialogs are OK for freely picking colors but I want to work with specific palettes and not have to type numbers into a dialog. What I'm doing at my day job is copy/pasting specific hex/rgb values from a brand-standards PDF reference doc. There are over 70 colors/tints so I spend a lot of time round-tripping. For other personal projects it's not so bad.
    It's very frustrating that in 2013 that so many tools offer up the web-safe options by default. The web-safe concept never really worked anyway.
    What I really want is to be able to establish a palette for a project at the outset and have easy access to the color values from within DW. Then, I want to be able to share palettes with other designers in the organiztion, particularly the junior members of my department. This is fairly easy in Photoshop and Illustrator but not apparently in DW.
    It looks like you can associate Snippets to specific sites but each snippet is a separate xml file which is tedious to create. I've used Kuler for some projects but that has its limits.
    The Assets panel looks promising since you can create sets of favorites, nest them in folders, copy them to other sites, etc. I can right-click colors in the panel and go through a dialog which adds new or redundant selectors to the bottom of my CSS file.  The problem is that the panel is disabled whenever I'm in code view so I can't edit an existing selector and simply choose a color from my Assets.
    I really do appreciate all the suggestions. I keep hoping I've overlooked something.  I'll submit this to the wish list and reference this thread.

  • Bridge CS6 metadata palette not creating bag array

    I am having trouble getting a custom XML Bridge metadata palette to write bag arrays.
    What I want is:
    <dcterms:subject>
        <rdf:Bag>
           <rdf:li>term 1</rdf:li>
           <rdf:li>term 2</rdf:li>
           <rdf:li>term 3</rdf:li>
        </rdf:Bag>
    </dcterms:subject>
    The result I get is:
    <dcterms:subject>term 1; term 2; term 3</dcterms:subject>
    My code is:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <xmp_definitions xmlns:ui="http://ns.adobe.com/xmp/fileinfo/ui/">
    <xmp_schema prefix="dcterms" namespace="http://purl.org/dc/terms/" label="$$$/Custom/Schema/dcterms/Label=Dublin Core Terms"/>
    <xmp_property prefix="dcterms" name="subject" label="$$$/Custom/Property/dcterms/Subject=Subject" category="external" type="bag" element_type="text"/>
    </xmp_schema>
    </xmp_definitions>
    This code works in CS4 and CS5.  I don't see any new requirements for XML panels in the CS6 XMP SDK, am I missing something? I also tried writing a simple dc:subject property, but it also failed to create a bag.  The CS6 Bridge IPTC Core palette works correctly, so I have to think this is a problem only for custom palettes.
    Thanks,
    Greg Reser

    Thanks Curt, but this is not a virus issue.  Think about it, how could the ntdll.dll file be virus infected and yet only impact the running of this single application?  That really wouldn't make sense now would it?  That library is critical to many windows function and if it were virus infected, I would have more things to worry about that trying to get Bridge to launch.
    I already did my homework on that before I posted here and tried some of the things suggested on verifying the integrity of my system files.  The Digital Signature Information shows to be okay.
    It could be that I upgraded this system from Windows XP Professional to Windows Vista Business and that I have an old (CS2) install that I did not remove from the computer.  I have done a variety of things to try and get to the root, but to no avail.  I am sure that if I were willing to start completely from scratch and do a clean install of the OS, I may be able to get it to work.  I don't really have time to do that however, and since I am not the only person who has had the issue with Bridge failing to start, I suspect the solution lies somewhere within the architecture of Bridge in CS6 that is at the root of my problem.
    I am hoping that someone from Adobe will finally figure it out and provide an update that works.

  • Image Trace with Document Library palette feature - bug?

    I've been trying out the different palette options in Image Trace and I believe I've come across a feature that does not work as the designers intended. In Adobe's documentation, there is very little said about the feature, which I believe is intended to allow you to substitute a custom palette for the palette that would be created by the original artwork that is being traced. It's under the Palette drop-down menu and is available if you've selected the Color Mode. It's called Document Library. In Adobe's documentation, there are these two paragraphs:
    [Reproduced from http://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/image-trace.html#tracing_options]
    Palette
    Specifies a palette for generating a color or grayscale tracing from the original image. (This option is available only when Mode is set to Color or Grayscale.)
    To let Illustrator determine the colors in the tracing, select Automatic.To use the document swatches as a palette for the tracing, select Document Library.
    This would be a great feature, if it worked! I have a lot of artwork to trace, it's all in a set yellow-to-green palette, and it would be a big time-saver if I didn't have to change the palette after the trace. Unfortunately, the feature doesn't work as promised. Either that, or I'm doing something wrong.
    I've embedded a video to demonstrate the problem, and would appreciate any comments.

    What I started with:
    What I expected
    (but in a different palette):
    What I got:
    Do I really need to describe what I don't like about these results?
    Since the original experiment, I have tinkered with it and discovered that the more colors I have in my palette, the better. I had three colors; it only used one of the three. With some settings changes I could get it to use two. With six colors, it used four. I was unable to get it to use all six.
    I apologize for the poor quality of the original rendering of the video. I have since re-rendered it. Embedded below, but if you still cannot see what is going on, I recommend you click on the direct link and go to YouTube, where you will be able to either use the Large Player feature or make the video full-screen. Hopefully that will make it possible to see more detail.

  • Color Palette Filter?

    Is there a filter that will let you set a custom palette and adjust the colors of the original clip to their closest match?  I think I've found a couple filters that will do this for a selection of up to 3-4 colors, but I'm looking for something more in the range of an 8-bit color palette (like this: nes-color-palette.gif).
    Thanks!

    I think the closest thing you'll get is Filters > Color Correction > Gradient Colorize.
    In order to use it like an 8-color color palette, you need to select the color swatches and set the interpolation to Constant. Then, right click on the color bar to add new color swatches. You can create any color scheme you'd like and you can move the swatches around to determine how much of the original color is recolored by the new "range".

  • Palette Swatch Selection Drops to Bottom

    In Illustrator 14, when I select swatches in custom palettes in "list view", the swatch will drop to the bottom of the palette. This is especially annoying in long lists of swatches because you then have to scroll down to view the swatches below what you selected. I have tried to save palettes in ASE and AI formats but this doesn't work. The palettes that came with Illustrator are fine, my custom palettes are the ones giving me problems.
    How can I fix palette selections from dropping to the bottom of the list?
