Custom Privileges on Second HD

I have a second HD in my MacPro. After upgrading to Slow Leopard, I cannot open it. It says I don't have permission to see its contents. Get Info reveals that all users have "Custom" listed under Privileges. I tried to change them to Read and Write, but it just changes them back.

Come on in. The commands worked first time for me. Copy and past them. Misspelling is fatal. They are case sensitive.
My problems now are with my applications, Parallels for Mac and my HP printer not working. Both because startupitems are not loading they require. Obvious error messages I have not seen before. They are insecure suddenly.
The errors are in Apple Help and refer to a page on Apple's website, but the page is for 10.4.11 and everything to do to fix the problem is not available in 10.6. I spent a couple hours with Apple support, friendly and helpfully inclined, but this is new stuff.
I had repaired permissions shortly before the problems started, from the DVD, it took 10-12 minutes. He told me not to repair permissions from the DVD. He did not say that would mess it up, but that was my impression. So we did it from the disk, it took an hour and there were more corrections than I had seen since 10.1 10.2 days.
We tried a few things, but deleting the startupitems and reinstalling the applications worked for HP, and seem to work for Parallels. Although several installs and restarts were needed to Parallels to work. They seem to be fine now.
Parallels is real finicky and the error message in the Knowledgebase gave a terminal command that did no good, but returned different, but all incomprehensible, result information. Trashing the dock shortcut fixed that.
Finally Parallels launched, but the virtual machine would not run. I threw more files in the trash, reinstalled again. Attempted, rebooted, attempted. Now it works.
Now it's just slow.

Is there a way to creat a custom privilege level to allow a user access to only CSM config commands while in config mode?? I'm trying to allow members of our server/web team to check on the status of the web servers and to take them out of service for maintenance....and not allow them access to change any other configs on the switch.

How do I remove custom privileges on my drive.

Hi, I have a 2010 macmini running MAC OS 10.6.8. I am having some grief with an external drive (Home 136rv)I have been setting up as a media centre HDD.
I was attempting the setup the sharing for this drive so I could copy files (music+video) from eyetv through my MBP.
The problem seems to be only with the privileges on the external HDD.
I had setup sharing and and then went to 'apply to enclosed items' so all the files could be shared.
The next time I started the MacMini and mounted the drive all the privileges had been set to custom:
cmp (me)-custom
Staff-custom
everyone- custom
I've tried disk utilities and after ages and freezing twice it asked me to repair disk, which I did. However my access is still messed up.
I can't even open the HDD -message "The folder Home_136RV can't be opened because you don't have permission to see its contents
I have seen discussions on the use of terminal but haven't had any experience using this.
Where do I start to repair my HDD as there are lots of files, including are family videos

After MANY frustrating hours of trying everything mentioned above and more to regain permission to my external hard drives I found an easy and fast solution! The best part about this solution is you don't personally have to mess with Terminal. FYI- I'm on Snow Leopard 10.6.8, though I believe this solution will work for anyone on Mac OS X 10.5 or later.
1. Download BatChmod.app (http://www.lagentesoft.com/batchmod/index.html).
2. Click on the "File" button and choose the external drive in question.
3. Under Owner, choose "root" and check all 3 boxes (R, W and X). Under Group, choose "admin" and again check all 3 boxes. Under Everyone, again check all 3 boxes. **make sure you've checked the boxes and not just put a line in them...
4. In Options box, check "Change ownership and privileges," check "Clear ACLs (10.5+)" and check "Unlock." Do not check "Clear xattrs."
5. Finally, DO NOT check the box at the bottom that says "Apply to enclosed folders and files," because this is probably similar to what got you locked out of your own external hard drive in the first place!
6. Click on the "Apply" button.
7. Now open finder and open your external hard drive!

Insufficient privileges on second site in Muse

Hi I pay the full subscription for Adobe creative cloud but I still get this error.
Please, can someone point me in the right direction to set up a second site for me.
I also want to point a domain to this going live. I have it reg with enom. Have you step by step instructions on how to do this.
Domains and hosting TCIP setting numbers and code to do with this side of the web is beyond me.
(I just need spinning cogs and process bars to do the work for me. lol)

Custom file/folder Privilege

The folders in my shared directory have acquired a "Custom" Privilege. Some have more than one custom privilege. I can see them with the cmd-I command.
How can I get rid of the custom privileges? Selecting the custom privilege and clicking the minus sign does nothing. I think the custom privileges may be interfering with the permissions inherited by nested directories.

This is a limitation of the Finder. It can not display ACL information. Use the Terminal application to view the ACL that is applied to the file(s)/folder(s). The list command will do it (ls). Use:
ls -lae
The ACL is the numerical listing beneath the POSIX perm set as seen below:
drwx------+ 12 ibob staff 408 Apr 15 10:21 Movies
0: group:everyone deny delete
This is a normal ACL for the Movies folder of your home folder in Leopard. ACLs start at 0 and increment up. ACLs can be assigned to a group or a user. Folders can contain inheritance.
If you want to remove ACLs, use the chmod command. If you want to remove all, look into the -N switch. Run man chmod for full details. Recall, removing ACLs from files or folders may alter your inheritance. User Workgroup Manager to propagate should things go awry. Also, if you are 10.5.6 Server or higher you will likely see an _spotlight user as one of the ACEs. This is to support Spotlight indexing of shares.

Privilege Delegation problem

i hope anybody can help me to understand the Privilege Delegation feature
one exambles (Unix OS (AIX))
My Listener and the database is running with user B on the OS . User B does not have OS login rights . We must login with user A and change to user B to manage the listener and the database .
In the EM12C the User A has the Run Privilege Sudo an run as user B listed .
When i shutdown the LISTENER with User A (run as B) the LISTENER goes down . When i startup the LISTENER with user A (run as B ) the LISTENER starts and the listener process run as user B . thats fine .
The same examble with the database ends with that that the database run as user A instead as user B
on the os i have the following entry in the sudoers file .
a ALL = NOPASSWD: /usr/bin/su - b, (b) /products/oracle/agent12g/sbin/nmosudo

Ok i have understood your question. But y do you want to trigger a workflow by using a cutom bor event, if all the custom components are available in standard BOR?
You can directly use the custom components from standard BOR.
First scenerio: I suggest you that you remove the delegation then run the trace and see if you are able to see the custom BOR.
Second scnerio: Now once again you delegate the subtype and run the trace(swels) and check are you able to see the custome bor in swel.

Problem with inputText in my custom component

Hi, I have a custom dataTable component that I'm trying to get to work. It has to be a custom component because dataTable doesn't support rowspan, colspan, multi line headers, and a rendered attribute for rows. The problem is, that when I wrap the column tag inside my row tag then the method for the inputText tag never gets called in the UPDATE_MODEL_VALUES phase.
I'm starting to think that JSF doesn't support 2 levels of tags between the inputText and dataTable. I'm hoping that someone can tell me what I have wrong with my components.
Here is the JSP snippet.

1) I was trying to put a button in the column header (for sorting) and I couldn't get that to work. That involved the >colhdr tag. I got that to work but I don't remember the fix. I'll look it up and reply back with that when I can.Dealing the first part of your trouble, you need NOT a custom component.
I have looked through the implementation of RepeaterRenderer, as you advised me, and found that the multi-header possibility is included in the implementation of dataTable control.

Issue with custom dropdown in e-rec

I have two custom dropdown in BSP application HRRCF_PROFILE.
At the start of BSP page, both custom dropdown have some values. Then i have an event on another dropdown and based on the selected value i insert new values to my first custom dropdown through search help. That works fine. But the issue is that i lose all the values in the second dropdown.
My question is, do i need to re-populate the second dropdown using search help.
So what i am thinking is that since i am only populating the first custom dropdown, the second dropdown gets empty because i am not populating it.
But i really only want to populate the first dropdown and keep the second dropdown as is. The reason for that is because a user could possibly have selected a value which i will lose.
Any help, suggestion or comment will be appreciated.

I had a similar requirment in one of my BSP applications , where i needed to reatin the values of form fields filled by the user and show them as is when the user navigated from that page to another page and came back.
My application was FLOW LOGIC based STATEFULL application.
For that i used:
1)in OnInputProcessing , for the button which is used to navigate to another page ,
call method request->get_form_fields
        CHANGING
          fields = it_fields.
       CALL METHOD cl_bsp_server_side_cookie=>set_server_cookie
          EXPORTING
            name                  = 'FORMFIELDS'
            application_name      = runtime->application_name
            application_namespace = runtime->application_namespace

            session_id            = runtime->session_id

            data_name             = 'it_fields'

Declare it_fields as a page attribute of type TIHTTPNVP.
2)In second page , in OnInputProcessing , for the button which takes user back to first page set a flag.

3)Declare a structure in page attributes .This structure conatins the fields , for which values need to be retained.
For ex.if there is one Radiobutton , two DDLB in your form, then structure has three fields of type c.
read table it_fields into wa_fields with key name = 'ID of your form element1'.
wa-element1 = wa_fields-value .
read table it_fields into wa_fields with key name = 'ID of your form element2'.
wa-element2 = wa_fields-value .
read table it_fields into wa_fields with key name = 'ID of your form element3'.
wa-element3 = wa_fields-value .
now this wa contains the values that the user filled/selected when he was on this page for the last time.
Now you can display the values previously selected using an if flag = 'X' condition in the layout.

but if you are adding a field and want drop down with values....... it is possible by providing search help for that field.

I created a custom ringtone that shows up as a ringtone but isn't on phone!

I created a custom ringtone, 22 seconds. All went well - it appears as a ringtone in my itunes music, and in itunes, under my phone (3g), as a ringtone. After several attempts at syncing (have never had a problem syncying anything), it does not appear under settings, general, sounds, ringtones. Can anyone help?

I think i've found the answer
In "music" my ringtones had also been added but with a "!" next to the ringtone. When you click on this the message reads something like "cant find location"
If you delete all the ringtones in "music" (the ringtones in "ringtones" don't get deleted") then sycn the phone then all my ringtones transfered to my Iphone

LOV custom sql

Hi,
I've created LOV in a dashboard prompt using the direct SQL request. LOV populates from the custom SQL.
The problems are the LOV default value comes from the underlying presentation table and not the custom SQL. Secondly the when using the "Match" functionality to search for a value the LOV uses the underlying report table and not the custom SQL used to populate the LOV.
Does anyone know how to force the LOV to use the custom SQL for these to scenarios?

What privilege level is required...

We are looking to possibly delegate setting up AnyConnect to our Helpdesk (limited to ASDM, adding Apple UDIDs to a Access Policy.) The question I have is what privilege level should be assigned that will allow them to add the UDID and limit (as much as possible) other changes?

You will need to define local command authorization at custom privilege level at a level between 1-15 and assign the necessary commands to it (e.g Access-list, Configure, cmd in your example). Then assign your Helpdesk usernames that privilege level.
I don't believe you can restrict which access-lists they can edit - that's outside the scope of what you can do with ASDM (or the cli). you'd have to move to CSM or an external portal with more role-based access control tools built-in to get that granular.

Drill with the second hierarchy (parenth2)

Hi,
I use the drill Excel Query.
When I select the first hierarchy (parenth1) for the dimension A, there is no problem , the system give the totals records
But when I select the second hierarchy (parenth 2) for th dimension A, the system give the following message : there is no data to display
Question : BPC can manage only one hierarchy by dimension or I forget the customizing for the second hierarchy ?

Two iPhone questions (existing customer and data plan)

Hello, I have two questions about the iPhone. I am on a family plan with At&t. I don't pay my bill. I want to keep it that way. Will I just be able to take my sim card out of my phone and put it in the iPhone since it's AT&T? Or do I use a new sim card and when activating it choose existing customer?
My second question is I am wondering if it is possible to use an iPhone without the data plan. I know I will be missing visual voicemail and edge but I don't care. Also, will this make me get a thousand dollar bill if I accidentally press safari and don't have a data plan? Thanks.

You can't use the SIM from your existing phone. You would use the new SIM and activate as an existing customer.

You have to get the data plan and for $20 it's worth it, not only is it unlimited data but includes 200 text messages. Without the data plan, you'll pay for every voicemail you access, every text message, any time you check weather/email/youtube/etc. In a nutshell, the data plan covers a lot more than just using Safari to browse the web.
