During upgrade from 11i to R12, how do I understand from RD50s as to what would change in my custom reports in Financial, OM and SC modules? Is there a metalink document which can help me in making changes to my new data warehouse and ETLs? Please advise! Thanks - Singh

During R12 upgrade adworker for patch u6678700.drv fails for afopp002.sql

During R12.1.1 upgrade from 11.5.10.2 adworker for patch u6678700.drv fails for afopp002.sql
The exact error being faced is
sqlplus -s APPS/***** @/u03/oracle/CRP1PROD/apps/apps_st/appl/fnd/12.0.0/patch/115/sql/afopp002.sql &un_fnd &pw_fnd

I even tried restarting the worker,bounced the database and even tried running u03/oracle/CRP1PROD/apps/apps_st/appl/fnd/12.0.0/patch/115/sql/afopp002.sql manually which hangs for indefinitely.

Let me walk you through briefly regarding the upgrade process:
Initially the existing instance was 11.5.10.2 with 9.2.0.6 database.Last year the database was upgraded to 11.2.0.1 and configured with 11.5.10.2
However the 11g database upgrade steps specifically for EBS 11i(interoperatibility notes for 11i with 11g database) was not followed properly.
And one of the major key issue identified was the 11g Example CD was not installed on top of 11g software during database upgrade.Which is the pre-req for 11g upgrade in EBS
And as per my experience it creates issues during R12 upgrade (patch u6678700) and giving errors pertaining to oracle text error.
SR was raised for the same and was suggested, since there is no other option kindly install the Oracle 11g software and on top of that 11g Example CD and map the 11g database and go ahead with the R12 upgrade.
Now coming back to the core issue being faced, Pre-req followed properly.No errors in alert logs.
Can missing the Example CD installtion be the issue?

Custom report migrated from 11i r12 not working

Hi,
I've a custom report developed in reports 6i in 11i env.If you run this report in 11i it's displaying data no errors. It has been migrated to R12.I tried to test this report.It's not displaying any data or errors.Is there any environment or intialization setup I need to take care of before testing this?

Custom Reports Snapshots Disappeared when upgrading from 2011 to 2013

Hi all,
We are in the process of upgrading our CRM 2011 instance to CRM 2013. Both instances are on premises and use separate servers (SQL, front-end,etc...). This is how we went about it:
- installed CRM 2013 on a new server using a different SQL server than the one used by the CRM 2011 installation.
- took a backup copy of the CRM 2011 database and restored it on the CRM 2013 server
- imported the CRM 2011 organisation on the CRM 2013 installation using the deployment wizard
- the import went without any errors
Now for the issue we are experiencing:
- in the CRM 2011 we have several custom reports snapshots which were then used for subscriptions via SRS
- the custom reports have been imported OK into the 2013 deployment when we imported the organisation
- the custom reports snapshots have not been imported into SRS although they are listed in the CRM user interface under the reports section. When trying to run the reports from the CRM user interface an error message is displayed that the requested does
not exist (as expected as the file does not exist on SRS)
Any assistance would be much appreciated.

I can reproduce it as you describing. Based on my understanding, the task pane is drawed by Word applicaiton, the Word applicaiton need to make task pane fit the current version of Office.

No. As far as I konw, we can only change the size and postion of custom task pane. You can get more detail about the task pane from links below:

Business Event during R12 upgrade (11.5.10.2 - 12.1.3)

Best practices for R12 upgrade says to disable custom tiggers and business events.
Disabling custom Triggers is fine , understood it.
However the phrase "and business events." is a bit confusing for my customer.
Though IMO ,it means disabling custom business events and not all ,however he is keen to know whether this means
disabling standard business events as well.
Also since we are bringing down all the services including WF services ,how can Business events be processed ?
Moreover as far as I know ,enabling maintenance mode shuts down the Workflow Business Events System which means no business event will be processed.
Thus why it is written in most of the Best Practices documents to disable business events ?

I have never needed to disable business events in all the upgrades I did from 11.5.10.2 to 12.1.3 and I believe it is not mentioned in these docs (I understand it is mentioned in the best practices, but I believe it is not required).

Why does NFS umounts itself during R12 upgrade

Dears,
We have a problem in NFS. When our oracle team in upgrading the oracle to R12, after a certain step the NFS umounts, from the client side the error as below,

We have a 11.5.10.2 instance with 10.2.0.5 database and we are Planning to upgrade the database to 11.2.0.3 during our upgrade R12.1.1, as per the note 761570.1, we have the Patch C and Path D available to us. We have decided to use the path C i.e upgrade the database to 11.2.0.3 during the R12 upgrade itself and no two downtime windows. As per this note 761570.1, in path c If the database upgrade is part of the R12 upgrade, perform all the steps in the Interoperabity Notes except the following steps:
Verify software versions
Run adgrants.sql
Implement and run Autoconfig
Re-create grants and synonyms
Restart Applications server processes
Apply Oracle Human Resources (HRMS) patch 7721754
so does that mean we don't have to apply any patches mentioned under Verify software versions like Interoperability patch , ATG Patch 7456837 etc.. on 11i ?
If you are planning to upgrade the database in the same downtime window of R12 upgrade, then you do not need to apply the patches under "verify software versions" section in the 11i doc. However, you need to consider applying the patches under the same section in (Interoperability Notes EBS R12 with Database 11gR2 [ID 1058763.1]). Those patches should be applied before you release the R12 instance to the users.

Can I retain my concurrent program schedule During R12 Upgrade ?

We are approaching Oracle R12 Upgrade go live. We have large number of concurrent programs scheduled by various users. We are planning to put these programs on hold before upgrade. When we upgrade, do upgrade driver removes all schedules from concurrent program schedules? Is it wise to cancel all scheduled programs and reschedule them after upgrade?

Platform Migration During EBS upgrade

Hi ,
We are planing to upgrade oracle apps from 11.5.10.2 to R12.1.3.
Currently Both oracle apps(11i) and DB(11gR1) are on IBM-AIX 5.3.
also planing for OS migration from AIX 5.3 to Linux x86-64.
So what would be the better option :
1. Migrate existing apps and db to Linux x86-64, then upgrade Oracle Apps to R12.1.3
OR
2. First Upgrade Oracle Apps to R12.1.3 and then do platform migration i.e AIX to Linux.

Oracle Sequence migration during an upgrade

Hi,
Firt of all Iam not a DBA, But we have a problem which I would like to know more about , we are planning on migrating to Oracle 8.1.7 from an older version and new Oracle Databases were created from the DUMP taken from old database..and when I was testing some functionality I found out that the SEQUENCES that were existing in the old database didn't get migrated to the new database...I had to create them inorder to test my application.
My question is does oracle sequences get created automatically in this situation or we need to explicitly create them, because mu understanding was that all the objects get created automatically when you create it from DUMP.
I would appreciate your help in this matter..

The project module interfaces with a lot of other modules in Oracle (Purchasing, GL, costing, and possibly OM and Manufacturing).
For Projects implementation, you will have to test those modules.
If you don't implement projects now, you will have to do a full blown regression testing for the upgrade and then again for the Projects implementation.
The one disadvantage I see is that you will require more resources because you are doing 2 activities in parallel.

Custom components handling during Portal upgrade from 7.0 to 7.3

Greetings,
I started the upgrade of our development portal from version 7.0 to 7.3. I'm stuck in the configuration step when the upgrade program asks what to do with the custom java components found in the system.
I have 8 components for which I can only select Scan inbox or Remove. The problem is that I would like to keep them as-is but the option Keep does not appear in the combo box.
Does anybody have an idea about how to keep those components as they are?

We are upgrading our existing R11i instance (11.5.10.2) with 13 installed languages and most of EMEA localizations.
1) how to check what all localization is installed in current release 11i instance.
2) how NLS gets handled during upgrade, do i have to apply any NLS patches during upgrade
3) how the localization gets handled during R12 upgrade.
4) are there any specific steps required to ensure that current localization setup are carried forward to R12 instance.
5) Are there any post upgrade steps required to handle to localization.
6) How to identify what are the steps for implementing russian localization

Discoverer Reports does not work in Multi-org Environment after R12 Upgrade

Discoverer Reports does not work in Multi-org Environment after R12 Upgrade. Created a simple report using the below query:
SELECT po_header_id, segment1, type_lookup_code
FROM po_headers
WHERE segment1 = '5000002'
Query works perfectly fine; when i set the ORG_CONTEXT in the database using the command:
EXEC mo_global.set_policy_context('S',129)
But the report doesn't fetch any data when ran from an Org based responsibility. We've ensured that the MO: Operting Unit is set accurately and general Oracle reports (PLSQL Program OR XML Publisher) are working perfectly fine.

I followed the steps provided in Metalink Note: 732826.1 - It works for some responsibilities where the MO: Security Profile is not set; but fails for those responsibilities where the MO: Security Profile is set.
I am looking for specific solution that works irrespective of either the MO: Operating Unit profile is set of not.
Please suggest. Appreciate your response.

Yes, I've gone thru both the notes specified below:
Discoverer Workbooks Based On Organization Enabled Views Are Not Populated [ID 1293438.1]
- Tried this option; but this option is messing up a couple of Oracle Standard Functionalities.
- For ex: If i set this profile option; we are not able to create any receipts using Custom Responsibilities.
I am able to create the receipt, when i remove this profile option.
No Data Shows for Reports in Discoverer 10g with Applications Release 12 [ID 1054380.1]
- I see that the products i am running these reports from AR/GL - already exists in these tables.
Anything other options??
