Custom resize the paper settings

I make cards and want to use different size papers to print but can't seem to custom resize the paper settings, causing my hair to fall out!!

Since I don't have this printer and can't get to the screens you are using, I thought I would pass on to you a couple of things that might work.  If not, I'll try again.
Solution one: Restart your computerFollow these steps to restart your computer.
Click Start, and then click Shut down .
Click Restart to restart the computer.
If you see a message that HP Software installation is running , restart the computer by pressing the power button on the computer to turn it off and then back on.
Solution two: Reset your printerFollow these steps to reset the printer. A power reset drains the power from the printer and returns it to the same settings after restarting. A power reset is a common troubleshooting step, and can be performed for conditions similar to an installation stall.
If the printer is turned off, press the Power button to turn on the printer. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before continuing.
With the printer turned on , disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Wait at least 60 seconds.
Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
NOTE:HP recommends connecting the printer power cord directly to the wall outlet.
Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
If the printer does not turn on by itself, press the Power button to turn it on.
NOTE:The printer might go through a warm-up period. The printer lights might flash, and the carriage might move.
Wait until the warm-up period finishes and your printer is idle and silent before you proceed
I hope this helps.  Please keep in touch so I can research more fixes if this doesn't work.

  • Resizing the movie settings

    Hi sorry to post two separate questions, but wanted to be clear.... I imported a PPT file through Captivate, and the default pixle dimensions were a little large - is there a place to reset those, or is that something that's normally rescaled once it is placed within an html page?
    Thanks,
    Jesse

    Hello,
    You can rescale the CP-file. Go to Project, Rescale. I'd recommend to keep the option "Maintain aspect ratio" activated, so that you'll keep the width-height ratio constant. Since you will be downscaling the loss in quality will be minimal. You can also keep the option 'Rescale captions, highlight boxes..." activated.
    Give it a try,
    Lilybiri

  • Paper settings in PSCC pare greyed out and cannot be selected.

    Hi Everyone!
    I'm running OS 10.10.2 and PhotoshopCC.  In the printer settings when printing directly out of photoshop (I've updated Epson Stylus Photo R2000 driver today) most of the paper settings are greyed out and cannot be selected.  I know wI'm doing something wrong, but cannot figure out ho two select a specialty paper setting... its there just not selectable....
    I also watched the actual Epson Driver load all of the unique settings....
    Ive included an image of what I am seeing here-
    Any help on this would be awesome, thanks so much!

    Thanks Chris- I just got in touch with them..
    actually comes down to the sheet feeder that you select...
    thanks.

  • Ix7000 plain paper settings through the rear tray

    Hi, I wish to print through the rear tray of the ix7000 printer using the same settings as the plain paper settings (which can only be used through front and manual trays).
    I'm printing on 160gsm gloss, which prints beautifully using the media type - plain paper - and shockingly using all the other media types. I want to print on paper of a size that the rear tray accepts (custom and large) but using the plain paper settings which print the image well.
    It's frustrating in that I know the printer can print the images perfectly on this paper, but it won't (for some unfathomable reason) let me use plain paper through the rear tray where the size of sheet (550mm x 250mm)  will fit. Anyone got any ideas? It will even let me print an envelope at 550mm x 250mm through the rear tray! but not plain paper. I almost need a way to shift the plain paper settings (somewhere in the driver) over to them applying to the envelope selection - that could be a way to trick it in to doing what I want it too. I can't think of any others.
    thanks
    Brett

    nope, after talking to a couple of canon technicians, and spending a fair bit of time on it I've come to the conclusion it can't be done - there really needs to be a manual over-ride to let the user make the final choice for such things.

  • Problems with custom paper settings

    I have a C3135 all in one printer.  I am trying to print invitations that were bought at Hallmark.  Hallmark.com/templates  invitation:  prt1132.  So I go and add the custom paper settings and do all that and when i go to print it pops up that something is outside the print margines.  I go double check everything and under page set up and printer set up everything looks like it is supposed to.  The invitation is a 5 5/16 x 5 5/16.  So I am putting a custom paper size of 5.31x5.31 and then the template says I should have a header of 1 3/16 a footer of 1/2" right and left margins of 1/2".  so I am putting a header at 1.19 and the rest set to .5.  I don't know what I am doing wrong.  It is something stupid I know it and I can't tell you how FRUSTRATING it has become, I have worked at this for three nights.  Please help.....

    I have had the same problem, and with the same result; Adobe Tech Support can't help or fix, after 15 hours on phone, Level 2 support. It is a software bug Adobe has, and can't seem to fix.  I just upgraded to Lightroom CC, and my problem migrated with the upgrade.  I print in Photoshop fine.
    If you found an answer, I would appreciate  knowing how to do it!
    Thanks

  • How to change the paper type in printer settings?

    Does anyone know how to change the paper type in printer settings?  I'm trying to have the ability to change it to photo paper from Photoshop Elements.  I can't find the option in printer settings or through Elements.  I'm assuming I could save an additional printer setting for photo printing, but can't find how to even select a different paper type.
    thanks!

    It would help to know which OS you are running as the answer will be different if it's Lion or the previous OS's. You are not running iOS 5.0.1 on your MacBook Pro so provide the correct information.

  • I am unable to select the correct paper size when printing photo's in iPhoto 11. When I select the paper size in the custom window for 4x6 prints the prints only appear on an 8 1/2x11 page. My Mac is a year old iMac running 10.8.2.

    I am unable to print 4x6 photo's using iPhoto 11. When I do they only print out on lettter size paper even though I enter 4x6 in the custom window in the print size menu. My older Snow Leopard system using iPhoto 9 the paper size window offered a 4x6 paper size which worked well.

    Selecting paper size in the first sreen tellis iPhoto what papery you are going to use - it does not tell the printer what paper to use - printer specific options on on the last (second or third if you customize the print) screen where you tell the print any specifics like paper source (typically printers need to you tell them where a specific paper is loaded - they do not really know the sizes in each paper tray)

  • I have a MacBook Air and for what ever reason, the print settings have gone out of whack. I am not sure how to set to print a normal A4 paper size or a standard envelope. These settings were working O.K., but not now

    I have a MacBook Air and for what ever reason the print settings for envelopes and normal A4 paper size changed from printing correctly each time I wished to print. Now, each time I wish to print either, I have to rest paper size and or Envelope vertical or horizontal. Can anyone assist with how to reset in order to print correctly without the need to rest each time please?

    Log in to the Developer forum. You will find instructions on how to install the lastest beta. Your problem is the beta you have installed has expired. All of them did on October 5; you will find hundreds of threads discussing this. If you have a beta it is assumed that you will continue as a beta tester, so a simple update using iTunes will not work.
    If you no longer want to be a beta tester install the GM 7.0.2 by restoring from iTunes using DFU mode.

  • How to resize the column of alv depending upon the textbox settings in i.e

    Hi,
    I am using ALV component in one of my WD applications. ALV has a column date. If i resize the textbox from the internet explorer setting ( page->textsize in i.e.7) to anything greater than medium, the content of the columns is hidden.
    For example, if the date is displayed as 25/07/2010, after resizing it appears as 25/07...
    i have tried using column property of the alv : set_width and set_resizable, but it doesnt give the desired output.
    Please give ur suggestions.
    Regards,
    Varuna

    Hi,
    Would increasing the width of ALV itself help?
    using IF_SALV_WD_TABLE_SETTINGS~SET_WIDTH().
    Regards,

  • Show settings of custom steps in the step settings pane

    Hi,
    I created some new steps and added to each an edit substep. So the user can customise the options.
    After a while if the user wants to see the options again he has to click the edit button to know whats happening in the step this is very cumbersome and slow.
    Now I am looking for a solution to avoid this. I had some ideas but either they are not good enough or i dont know how to do this.
    1. show the properties in the description: -good idea but sometimes the description is a bit confusing and to short. (same with comments)
    2. open a window when the user selects a step and close it when he deselects it. -I dont know how to realise this...
    3. modify the step settings pane and show the properties directly instead of the edit button. -this is my favorite but how to realise?
    hope somebody can help me with realising my ideas or has some new.
    I am sure I am not the only one with this problem
    Cheers Frank

    Hi frankne,
    I would store the the settings in the step itself.
    When creating a StepType you can add variables or even containers to the type.
    If you are developing in C/C++ or CVI just look at the CallExec StepType which is shipped with TS
    If you select "Step" in the Variables Windows you see that all settings are done there.
    If you are interrested about the source code:
    ProgrammFolder\National Instruments\TestStand 4.0\Components\NI\StepTypes\CallExec
    If you are interrested to see how powerful a user stepType could be visit:

  • HP Officejet 7500A Wide Format - Can't reset the paper size - won't print!!!

    I have a new HP Officejet 7500A Wide Format All-in-one printer.  I love it and have had no problems with it...until now.  The other day I went into Photoshop and printed a 4x6 photo and now my printer will not allow me to print on 8.5X11.  I have checked the paper size in Photoshop, Word, Excel, Acrobat...everything I used that day, but it all shows "letter" size paper in the properties.  I also checked the printer utilities...letter size paper is selected.
    But when I try to print, the printer and the computer both give me a "paper mismatch" error and my only option is to change the paper or cancel.  I went back into photoshop again and was able to print a 4x6 photo again - once I put in 4x6 paper - but then I changed it back to an 8.5X11 size photo sheet and tried to print on letter size paper and..."paper mismatch'.
    I changed the printer back to factory settings.  Nothing.  I just had to reset up my printer on my network, but it still won't print.  I tried to re-install the printer software from the installation disk, but it won't install.  It says "already installed".
    HELP!!!!!!  I honestly don't know what to do at this point!!!!!
    Thanks in advance!!

    I have struggled with a similer problem with my new 7500A.  I've done all the things you did. I made sure I had all updates and the firm ware update. I spent time on the phone with a lady who meant well but clearly didn't know the product. I had a difficult time communicating with her. Her accent was in the way. This morning I realy didn't want to face another day of this struggle.  As I walked into my studio I had a idea. Instead of going to the computer to try to solve my problem through menues, HP Customer Service and or communities. I went dirrectly to the printer.  I turned the printer on, the little screen on the printer lit up I touched the arrow to go to the next screen of menus. I touched "Set Up"  then scrolled down through the choices. I picked "Preferences". At the bottom of the list was.............. Media Width/Type Sensing (ON)............I promptly turned it (OFF) ......................I am printing as I was told I would be able to do prior to buying. I am not getting that anoying screen  "Paper Mismatch" . The printer is printing now on my 12 x 12 stock regardless of the type. ie: cardstock, plain paper, colored paper, construction paper. I hope this helps some of you out there.  Clearly HP was of "NO" help to me. I have read that others are installing HP 7000 drivers etc.  I've solved the problem without going to those lengths, no thanks to HP.

  • How to add multiple presets to responsive design view without having to resize the screen each time

    I want to be able to add multiple screen size presets to the responsive design view capability but don't want to have to resize the screen and add each one individually via the custom preset function.
    Have seen that some posts on the internet (http://g-liu.com/blog/2013/08/firefox-rdm-presets/) that say this can be done but cannot find where the config is held in ver 26.0?

    You can also do the opposite and create custom settings in the responsive design mode window.
    You can hold down the Shift key and drag the borders via the (right border, bottom border, bottom right corner) resize icons to get specific dimensions and give the current custom setting a name to add them as a preset.
    This will add the preset to the devtools.responsiveUI.presets pref.
    See also my post here for a bookmarklet.
    *[[/questions/957590]]
    You can paste the current value of the pref in the prompt to see a list of currently defined presets.<br />
    You can add a new preset by entering the width,height,name values in the prompt.<br />
    Copy the new preset list to the pref.
    <pre><nowiki>javascript:(function(){
    function rdObj(w,h,n){with(this){key=w+"x"+h;if(n)name=n;width=w;height=h;}}
    rdObj.prototype={key:"",name:"",width:"",height:""};
    var n={},p='<width>x<height> <name> OR width,height,name',rd=[];
    while(p!=null){
    p=prompt(p,JSON.stringify(rd));
    if(/^(\d{3,4})[,x](\d{3,4})([, ](.+))?$/.test(p)){
    n=new rdObj(RegExp.$1,RegExp.$2,RegExp.$4);rd.push(n);
    }else{try{rd=JSON.parse(p);}catch(e){}}
    }})()</nowiki></pre>

  • I was using Internet Explorer but now have disabled it in preference to Firefox. But my Press Reader program by Newspaper Direct will not access the internet and display the paper. Their web site says it works with Firefox

    Under connection options in Press Reader I have three options. Use IE proxy settings; don't use proxy; Use custom proxy settings. I have tried all three and still cannot get a direct internet connection with Press Reader. The Press Reader site says it works with Firefox 2 and above. I am using Firefox 5.0. I can still go to my newspaper site and read the paper but I just can do it via Press Reader and therefore I can not download it for later reading.

    I notice that the home page redirects to a secure (HTTPS) address. I wonder whether there is a setting blocking this? What if you go directly to a secure page -- will it load?

    Your add-ons list shows AVG, ZoneAlarm, and McAfee products. Could one of them be blocking this site? See whether you can add exceptions or just disable them temporarily and test whether that helps.

  • How to resize the video in Compressor?

    Hi all, my first post here,
    I just know  we can't optionaly resize the video in Final Cut Pro and
    using the compressor can resovle this problem,
    It's not very convenient to resize the video in FCP.
    i wanna ask how can i  resize the video in compressor
    Thanks a lot

    First, you should carefully think why you'd need to resize. You can export from FCP X to the standard sizes, both HD and SD. Do you really need some nonstandard size?
    Keep in mind that usually you'll get the best quality if you edit in the desired final size, rather than resizing afterwards.
    If you do need to create a video in some nonstandard size, like, say 1080x1920 (i.e. in "portrait" form), there is a way to do it:
    http://library.creativecow.net/articles/payton_t/FCPX_Custom-Resolution-Timeline s/video-tutorial
    With Compressor you have many pre-made defaults for different kinds of devices. Also, you can export to Quicktime and tweak the settings to get a desired size.
    1-Drag one of the existing settings (in the example below, I used SD 480p)
    2-Select it
    3-In the Inspector, select the "Geometry" tab
    4-Choose "Custom" and enter the desired size.
    5-Change the other properties (such as codec, under the "Encoder" tab), as needed
    5-Choose "Save As..." and save it (give a suggestive name, say "Portrait") so that you can later reuse it as needed.

  • Custom page sized paper in a LaserJet 1200

    I'm running Window 7 and printing to an HP LaserJet 1200.  I need to print on the inside of 5 1/2 (w) x 8 1/2  thank you note.   I created a custom size.  I've changed the setting to set "center" as where the paper comes from.    I'm feeding it thru the envelope feeder or putting the thank you's in the paper tray, centering it with the guides.  It prints the text on the left of the paper.  Help.

    Set your paper size as a custom size:
    1. Open the Pages doc
    2. Press shift+ ⌘ +p to open the page setup
    3. In the 'settings' pull down menu choose 'custom paper size'
    4. Click on the new button and create your custom size and save by pressing o.k
    5. Now your custom size will appear in every page set up dialogue.
    For my two printers this is all I have to do. The printers adopt the page set up selected in Pages.
