Custom ringtones keep replacing each other

Here's my problem. I have 16 custom ringtones on my iPhone. When I recently created a new one, it duplicated itself over the last ringtone i synced. In the iTunes library everything looks fine but on the phone the latest tone duped over the previous. Make sense? I'm wondering if any one els has had this issue. I'm using the 1.1.3 firmware

Yes, others have experienced this and turning off "Manually manage music and videos" then syncing corrected the issue.
You may turn manual back on after you sync.
A restore is not the final solution for everyone.
Be sure to report the bug to Apple on the iPhone feedback page.

after i updated to IOS6 my wife and i keep getting each others imessages.

This is caused by using the same Apple ID for iMessage.  To prevent this you need to use separate IDs.  (You can continue to use the same ID for purchasing; it does not need to be the same as the one used for other services such as iMessage.)
On the phone that will be changing, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, tap the Apple ID at the top, sign out, sign back in with a different ID.

  • HT1386 Photo albums replacing each other after syncing

There's something wrong with my photos when ever I sync them into my iPod touch (5th gen). Let's say I upload album A into my iPod, everything is fine and I can see the album in my Photo app. Then I upload album B, the album replaces album A! And vice versa if I want to upload back album A! What's going on? What can I do to save all my albums and not let them replace each other?

You can only Sync one photos folder with the iPod Touch.
However - the solution is simple.
Create a folder named (for example) "Touch Pictures". (Name it whatever you prefer.)
Drag and drop album A (which presumably is a folder of its own) into the "Touch Pictures" folder.
Drag album B into the "Touch Pictures" folder. (You now have two sub-folders inside the Touch pictures folder.)
Sync iPod with your iTunes Library.
On a subsequent occasion, add album C to the "Touch Pictures" folder.
Sync iPod with your iTunes Library.
When you look at Photos on your iPod Touch, you will now see separate "folders":
    Photo Library
    album A
    album B
    album C
The first one - Photo Library will contain every picture as one folder. The other "folders" - album A, album B and album C will each contain only the pictures for that folder.
On my 2nd generation Touch, the list also displays the number of pictures in the folder, but I believe later version of the iOS have dropped this.

  • My custom ringtones keep disappearing

I have set custom ringtones (for certain contacts) in my iPhone 6+.  All the ringtones were downloaded from iTunes.  I set a custom ringtone on the phone, but later the ringtone changes to the "opening" tone in place of all my custom tones.  It only does this for custom tones, not those set to the phone's default ring.
I've noticed that it happens after I access a contact on my iMac.  If I use only the iPhone to to view contact information, the custom tone stays there.  But if I access a contact on the iMac, then go back to the iPhone, once again the ringtone is the one called "Opening."
I have synced the phone with iTunes on the computer, and the ringtones are in my iTunes library.
On a related note, the Contacts app on my iMac will not allow me to set ringtones for a contact.  Again, the ringtones are there in iTunes, I just cannot use them.
    Any suggestions?

The exact same thing happens to me. Twice I downloaded a minions ringtone and text tone, and twice it vanished.... I am not wasting any more money to feed these people, as they dont seem to care that they are taking your money each time. WHAT THE **** IS HAPPENING APPLE? WHY ARE OUR TONES DISAPPEARING? PLEASE ANSWER.....
I have had to resort back to the old car claxon horn .... (yawn)

  • I have downloaded two albums and they have the same song on, but they keep overwriting each other?

I have downloaded Now 84 and Bad Blood from iTunes, both these albums have the song Pompeii on it, and my iPhone will only allow me to have one version of this song on my phone, so whenever I try to re-download the song of the album it's gone missing from it just overwrites the other version.
I have multiple versions of other songs on my iPhone with no trouble
    Thanks in advance

It now does it with any song I have on more than one album...

  • Phone keeps "forgetting" custom ringtones

My wife LOVES custom ringtones and she uses them on her iPhone. however, every @$#@ing time she connects it to her Mac, the custom ringtones are replaced by the default ringtone. Why? How is this fixed?

First, watch your language on your question.
Second, there are quite a few possibilities on why this is occuring. One of the listings may be the problem, while sometimes, it may not:
    1. Are you connecting your iPhone to 2 different computers with iTunes? If so, iTunes can only sync 1 iPhone at a time. That means if computer 1 syncs iPhone 1, your wife's Mac will erase iPhone 1 with permission.
    2. Hacked/Jailbroken iPhone? Apple does NOT support hacking/jailbreaking of iPhones.
    3. Your storage capacity is being reached. Delete some music, movies, or TV shows (Most common)
    4. The iPhone ringtones setting might be set to the default ringtone. Ergo, it is still under the default. Do to this, tap Settings, Tap Sounds, Tap Ringtones, select ringtones. If it is not there, sync it again and select it. If not, double-check each of your contacts. Did you select Apple-preloaded ringtones to each of your contacts accidentally? (Check a contact, Ringtone should say "default", which is what you chose in the settings panel).
    5. Your iPhone Ringtones Dynamic Library may be damaged. Restore your iPhone first*, then reload everything, including ringtones. Test it once more; if this repetitively occurs and you've had enough of this,
    6. Please address this to your local Apple Store. Locate one at http://www.apple.com/retail/

  • How can my bf and I share are itunes on our computer together but with separate apple ID's so we DO NOT receive each others iMessages all the time?

My boyfriend and I both share an itunes together on my mac book pro, is there away to have seperate apple ID's but both are connected to the shared itunes and have access to all of our purchases? I am asking this becaue since my boyfriend and I both have iphones, we keep revieving each others messages and conversations, and not only is it annoying, but it is an invashion of privacy both ways, on his side and mine. What do we do?
Can you even change your apple ID on your iphone without losing your contacts, apps, music etc..? Can you even have two apple ID's on one shared itunes? Some help me out here, I am so confused.

All apps and purchases are linked to your apple ID, so you can't share them across 2 devices that are using different apple id's, it won't work. the purchases that are on your mac at the moment will only work with the apple id they were brought with.
the only thing thats possible to share is purchased music. you have to first covert it to mp3 within itunes, then your bf can import it into his own itunes library and sync with his phone.

  • 8300 Custom Ringtones to Motorola S9 Headset

I have a AT&T curve 8300 running 4.2.2.166 with a new Motorola S9 A2DP headset.  Music and calls work fine using the headset.  How do I make the unique ringtones assigned to contacts heard in my headset?  Furthermore how do make the custom ringtone only be heard in the headset to gain benefit from the custom ringtone and not disturb others?  Thanks.

Okay, in answering my question, currently the Bluetooth services in the iPod Touch (with OS3.0) are:
    AVRCP Device
    Audio Source
    PnP Information
    Service Discovery
    Wireless iAP
In other words, no service is available for connecting a Bluetooth headset (or microphone).
FYI, AVRCP, according to Wikipedia: "Audio/Video Remote Control Profile (AVRCP)
This profile is designed to provide a standard interface to control TVs, Hi-fi equipment, etc. to allow a single remote control (or other device) to control all of the A/V equipment to which a user has access. It may be used in concert with A2DP or VDP."
Wireless iAP, is wireless internet access point (I believe).

  • I have different bookmarks that I want to keep on each computer, will sync delete the bookmarks on one computer and overwrite the bookmarks from the other computer in their place

I have not used sync yet, but I have the gut feeling there is going to be a problem if I do. I have different bookmarks that I want to keep on each computer. Will sync delete the bookmarks on one computer and overwrite the bookmarks from the other computer in their place? So I'm guessing it will erase the bookmarks on the second computer that you set up to sync. Is there a way to merge the bookmarks from each computer into one bookmark library that contains all the bookmarks from both computers, so that I don't lose any bookmarks by syncing?

    Hi,
Firefox Sync works by merging all the info in all your computers. It doesn't replace anything. So if you have information A in one device and information B in other device, after setting up Sync you will have information A+B in both devices.
I hope this clarifies the situation.

  • I assigned specific custom ringtones to specific contacts on my iPhone 4. When I sync my new iPhone 5, will those contacts automatically still have those ringtones assigned to them, or will I have to go into each contact and manually reassign them again?

Just wondering if it's possible to sync iPhone 5 in a way that automatically keeps my contacts from my iPhone 4 with the same custom ringtones. Or will I have to re-assign them all manually?

You should be syncing your contacts with an app on your computer or cloud service (iCloud, Gmail, Yahoo, etc), and not relying on a backup.  If you haven't been doing this, start now and then restore your old backup.  You will then be able to sync the new contacts back into the phone.  However, you will lose all messages, etc newer thant the backup.

  • HT204053 Our family has several apple devices, iPad, touch, and now iMac, our original iTunes are all under a different apple id.  do we keep our own accounts even in cloud? do we all have access to each others media? (First time out with all this..)

There is no problem about using one ID for iTunes, iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match, and another for iCloud and its email and syncing facilities. This way you can all use the same iTunes account but have separate emails and calendars etc.

  • Syncing contacts between 2 different computers while keeping both independent of each other?

    Hi,
I'm wondering if there is a way to have my calendars and contacts from 2 different computers running Mountain Lion sync to my iPad retina while keeping the 2 computers from merging the calendars and contacts? I do have a separate apple ID set up on each computer, and each computer does connect to iCloud.
The reason is one is my work machine, the other my personal home machine. The home machine keeps my wife and me connected by sharing the contacts and calendars which has been working well. I don't want to clutter up that by mixing in calendars and contacts from my work computer and don't want my wife to have access to them either.
The only way I can figure to have both reside on my iPad while keeping them independant of each other is to physically connect my iPad to my work machine and not have the contacts in iCloud. That way when I transfer them to the iPad via iTunes, it will be under the category On My Mac rather than iCloud contacts.
The only problem with that is then I'm always having to connect and sync my iPad to my work machine.
Is there a better way to do this?

Sorry, you lost me right there. Where exactly did you try to put an asterix????
Which example program are you trying to use?
Typically, you would enter the IP address of the server in the client program.
LabVIEW Champion . Do more with less code and in less time .

Hi user 1724, before icloud, we had the same issue....
so yes,  the solution was to  each log  into the mac separately.
i kept the main itunes library and apple id, and my son made his own itunes library (which linked to the main itunes/apple id)   - so we were able to maintain separate contacts lists.
but then w/ the cloud i guess we assumed the cloud would know we each have different contact lists on diff. phones, but it seems the cloud just lumped it all together -
