Custom size in the photo collage

Hello,
I would like to create a wallpaper in 2560x1440px.
When I try to make a photo collage there are only 3 different sizes I can choose.
How can I add a custom size?

Why not design your own? It is possible to make a collage manually and its quite easy from Expert Mode using the regular tools.
Click File >> Open and select all of your photos
That will add them to the project bin
Then select File >> New >> Blank File
Select background color White (or whatever you prefer) and add your width and height for your final image (set resolution 72 for web usage or 240 to 300 for printing) then click OK
In the project bin click your first photo and drag it up into the main window on top of your new background.
Click on the move tool and click in the center of the photo and drag to arrange it where you want on the background - you can hold down the shift key to maintain original proportions whilst dragging the corner handles of the bounding box to get the size you want.
Do the same with the next photo (drag it up into the main window) and use the move tool to position it. Then continue with each image.
Finally Click Layer >>Flatten image and save as jpeg. (Save as PSD if you want to preserve the layers for editing again)

Photosmart C410: How do I associate a custom paper size with the photo tray?

Our Photosmart 3310 recently broke down and I purchased a C410 to replace it. I sell a small item online that I ship in 3 5/8 x 6 1/2 envelopes. With the 3310, I had figured out a way to print the envelopes from the photo tray. While Word 2007 allows me to select the photo tray, the printer would not print from there until I created a custom paper size in the printer preferences dialog box.
One of the reasons I got the C410 was for the photo tray. It's a real pain to have to swap out the regular paper and stick in one evelope every time I want to print another envelope. Well, unfortunately, that's what I've been doing. I select the photo tray in Word, but the printer goes right ahead and prints from the main tray. I had forgotten what I did to make it work on the 3310, so I experimented with that printer's drivers until I figured it out.
My problem is that the software interface for the C410 is different than that for the 3310. I can't figure out how to associate a custom paper size with the photo tray. To test my theory this evening, I told Word that my envelope size was 5 x 7. The printer didn't hesitate to take an envelope from the photo tray. Of course the return address went into a dark void because the envelope is not 5 x 7.
The difference between the two interfaces is that the 3310 has both printing shortcuts as well as "Print Task Quick Sets." The C410 only has printing shortcuts.
If anyone can help me, I'll be very grateful! I've probably spent hours trying to get this figured out, and I have no idea what to do.

Which Microsoft product (application) are you using ? Printer supports the following custom sizes:
From ADF: Custom-sized media (ADF) between 127 to 216 mm wide and 241 to 305 mm long (5 to 8.5 inches wide and 9.5 to 12 inches long)
From input tray: Custom-sized media between 76.2 to 216 mm wide and 101 to 762 mm long (3 to 8.5 inches wide and 4 to 30 inches long)
You need to select right custom size from the application.

For the life of me, I can't find out what size a photo is in terms of inches or how to change the size of the photo[s] so I can print them. I think I read somewhere to click edit, then click adjust. Nothing there about sizing.

With respect to digital images, there really is no size in inches. The size is given as number of pixels horizontally and vertically. In iPhoto '09 you click the little "i" inthe lower right side of the window and it will display information related to the selected photo, including the pixel dimensions. I do not have iPhoto '11 installed so I don't know if it is the same there.
In some applications, such as preview, it has something additional called Dots per Inch (DPI) which you would think would allow you to convert the pixel dimensions to inches. It is not a real thing, though. The DPI is determined by how large or small you have chosen to print your photo and the capabilities of your printer.
There is also something called Aspect Ratio, which is usually expressed in inches x inches such as 6x9 but that doesn't mean the size on the screen or when printed is 6x9. It is the ratio of the pixel dimensions. When cropping your photos, you will have several standard aspect ratios to choose from plus any custom ones you create.
In iPhoto '09, after you choose Print, in the Print Setting window are the settings for the size you want the photo printed. You want to shoose a setting with the same aspect ratio of your photo. Otherwise, iPhoto will resize and/or crop your photo to fit the size you have chosen.

Photo editing the data size of the photo

I belong to several Yahoo Groups where we share photos. My Nikon D90 does not appear to have a photo size selection small enough to permit me to fit it within the allowable small size per photo sent to the group. Does iPhoto have a method to change the size of the photo data to edit my photos down to a smaller size? If so, how does it work? If not, is there a photo editing download that would allow this type of editing? Thanks in advance.

select the photo(s) you want to reduce in size and export them (file menu ==> export) as JPEGs - there are several size options including small, medium, large and actual and custom which lets you set the maximum pixel dimension or reducing the image quality will also reduce the size
Export to a desktop folder and upload from there then delete the folder after you have completed the upload

Can I adjust size of the photos on front page of the photo album template?

When I am working on a Photo Album page, how can I make the "front page" photos larger? I am talking about the photos arranged in rows, not the photos that show in the slide show carousel. Is it a set size in the Photo Album template or is it a consequence of how large a photo I set into the page?
Also, how is "large" defined? Is it about inches, or is it about resolution?

Michael, where did you go to check to see that the large was indeed too large and the small too large? What method of adjusting the size are you using?
If you want them really large, why don't you just
plonk the real photo on the page sized as large as
you wish, and you can always link it to its own page
with an even larger version!!

Michael, actually I misstated in my first post. Actually I would not like the photos in the Photo page to be too large, because then no one will be motivated to click onto the See Slideshow button.
My mind is getting so crammed with input and other people's websites that I now cannot even recall with certainty which pictures I wanted larger. 8-( Oh, this is giving me a cramped-in-the-chest feeling. I had best take a break now and finally eat a legitimate meal.

Where are you getting this screen? In iPhoto after selecting the File ➙ Export menu option? If that's the case try this:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your Home/() Library/Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences..
You can resize photos outside of iPhoto with 3rd party applications like Resize!.

Can you increase the size of the photo that shows when you receive a call from a contact ?

It used to be if you added the contacts photo on the iOS device they would have a large picture and if you added it from Address Book on OS X they would have a smaller thumbnail. However, since iOS5, all I've been able to get is the larger photo. Try adding the picture directly in the contacts app on your device. That should make it larger.

Control the burn size of the photos

can I make only one set of photos and control the image quality ( 2128x1200 ) or ( 4272x2848 ) any way I like when burnning ?

I am in the print mode but the dimensions I select in the size template do not show up on either the cell size or the photo, i.e. select 4x6 template lR gives me 3.5x4 8x10 gives me 5.19x3,50 I have to use 8x10 template in order to get 3.5x5.194

The sizes on the print template do not relate to the size I get in the cell size or on the photo. Template 8x10 gives me 3.5 x5.194 which is on the cell size can't make it any larger. 4X6 template gives me 3.5x4 which is the same as the cell size. My printer is a new epson 3000 which is set to print 4x6 but LR does not give the 4x6 dimension to the printer just the aforementioned sizes!!!! I have tried everything to get it to print properly to no avail. The photo system that came with the computer an iMac 27" pro 2013 with yosemite as the os.works fine with he printer! You just cannot do much other than print with it
Anybody have any idea what happened? It used to work fine ____about a week and a half ago

Can I print multiple pictures in multiple custom sizes on the same page?

Hello. I'm trying to print some pictures for a frame. The frame has 4 slots, with two 3.5x5, one 4x6, and one 3x3. I've already changed the sizes and cropped appropriately, but iPhoto seems to resize the pictures to fit the page when I go to print (in N-Up).
Does anyone know how to do this (or if it is possible)? I have Photoshop CS2. Would I be better off trying to do this in CS2?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. JMEH has suggested the best way to get what you want. Create a blank 8.5 x 11 canvas at the dpi size that your camera produces. Mine Canon gives me 180 dpi. Then, using PS as iPhoto's primary editor, crop the file to the size you want and drag it into the open blank canvas and position it where you want. Just make sure in PS that the dpi is set to 180 (or whatever you choose to use). Once dragged into the blank canvas the changes to the file, i.e. crop, does not have to be saved and you can close that file without making any permanent changes. Do that for each of the photos you want on the blank canvas, arrange and print. When done you can close the canvas without saving for use the next time.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. Why can't I find a place to cusomize card stock sizes in my printer

The driver that is used for the Deskjet 3050a does not support custom sizes. It has a pre-set of choices and this is all the driver supports.
You may be able to use an alternate driver, such as the HP Deskjet 9800 driver, that supports using custom paper sizes. Check the thread located here for information on how to use an alternate driver.

Why won't my phone let me choose the size of the photo I want to email?

Hi,
I have the 4S and I'm having trouble emailing the higher resolution photos from my phone. When I would email a photo before, I would usually get a few options of which size I'd like to send. Now it's just sending it automatically without giving me those options. What's going on? I took a few photos today with my phone and they are all small resolution photos. I want the larger files. Can anybody help?

You usually only get the option to choose photo resolution if you are trying to send too large a file, or combination of files in mail.
You say you took pictures today and got small resolution photos. How do you know they are small resolution?

How do I change the paper size to a custom size in the new Pages?

I would like to be able to make some posters in different sizes. With the previous versions of Pages, I was able to customize the size of each document. In the new version it seems that I can only choose from a very small list.
Does anyone know a way around?

Do you have a dual layer burner connected (either internally or via FireWire)? If not, the option won't present itself.
Also, you actually have to click on the round burn button so the dialog box showing the DL burner will present itself in the event you have more than one burner available on your system. See this link for an image of said dialog box:

Desperate here- Please help!! Setting a max size on the Photo in a Gallery

I have a client who has 1,000s of picturea there are MANY of their pictures which are HUGE. So the thumbnail is fine I can alter those ratios, but is there a way to alter the size the picture can be when clicked on and it enters the slideshow/gallery mode? Is there a way to set a max size and make that alteration all at once- instead of resizing every picture? If so, how?
Also, is there a way to take the PREVIOUS and NEXT buttons off the module under the thumbnail?

Hi there,
Editing the CSS to scale the large images is a real bad idea, especially huge ones as being indicated by you both. These images are large and larger file size and will take a long time to download, especially on mobiles. Changing the CSS so they appear smaller does not change that at all.
You need upload images that are web optimised and scaled correctly first, this is really a good must for proper management.
In terms of the thumbnail images you need to just modify the module paramaters to get the size and scale you want so this is done server side and the images served already scaled.

PE11, maximising the size of the photo area to full screen from expert edit

PE11. Could maximise photo to full screen window directly from expert edit in PE8. Is this still possible in PE11. Also, area availabe for photo seens to me very limited in lattest PE11. Anoyingly always having to manually close the large tool option panel to have any room for the image. Are there workarounds? I would a also like any discussion about the future developement of PE. Is this forum the best place to put this post?

Try working in floating windows rather than tabs. You can then maximize and minimize like all other windows keeping the pallets behind. Go to:
Edit >. Preferences >> General
Check the box to Allow Floating documents in Expert Mode
You can also quickly press the tab key to hide/reveal pallets.
