Custom size printing

I have a desjet 5550 using Windows 7 64.bit. I wish to print on a custom size sheet. Can you advise if this is possible?

Hi
Follow the instructions below:
1. Open devices and printer
2. Click Add a printer
3. Click Add a local printer
4. From the Use existing port select the USB option, and then click next
5. Click on the Windows Update button to get all support window 7 drivers updated
6. Once update is finished. Click on HP from left menu, and then select the Deskjet 990c from the right menu, and then click next.
7. Follow the remaining instructions to complete the installation.
Once you have the 990c printer added make sure it is the default printer, and then try printing to your Deskjet printer using this driver.
Let me know if this driver has more flexability for custom paper sizes?

    HI Plexi,
As far as I know, there are only the standard sizes available for prints.
You will have to print the custom sizes with your printer.
thanks - I'll give your suggestion a try and let you know how it turns out.

  • Printing custom size prints

I am having trouble printing custom size photos on regular size paper. I use the custom scale setting in the layout dialog box. However, the result does not match the requested size in the preview window and it does not print the requested size. For example I would like to scale a photo to print 4x10 on a 8/12X11 sheet of paper. When I custom scale to 4x10 the result is 4 high but 7.5 wide. Any help would be appreciated? I'm printing on an HP 9180.

Have you cropped the photo to your desired 4x10 aspect ratio? If you do that, then the only printing part of the photo is that portion you've chosen in your crop. Then in the print dialog, you can tell it to print to 8.5x11 and set the margins there to .5 inch in order for it to scale to 10". Or have you done all this already?

  • Printing custom size prints with Epson 1430 printer

We have been trying to print photos slightly larger then standard sizes.  not sure what the the paper sizes are A3 & A4

    As an experiment, please try the following;
Open the Editor in Expert tab
Go to File>New>Blank file. Set w=10.5", h=8", resolution 240 px/in, background: white. OK
Use the brush tool to make a few scribbles on this canvas
Go to File>Print. Select individual print, paper size letter size or 8.5x11"
When you try to print this, do you still get the error message?

  • Custom Size Prints

I want to print out some pictures for a particular size frame.............they are drink coasters.
The pictures need to be about 2.5 inches square.........or 6cm square.
    How can I do this?
    Thank you.

Try the crop tool, with w=2.5in, h=2.5in
For printing it is desirable to have resolution=240-300px/in.
If you are using an identical picture for a set of coasters, I would open a new blank file corresponding in size to your paper stock, then copy/paste the picture multiple times. Each one will be its own layer, and you can position it with the move tool. Then cut the paper with scissors.
Of course, you can do the same with a variety of pictures as well.

  • Custom sizes not supported in 10.8

Mountain Lion DOES NOT SUPPORT custom size printing on wide format printers!!!!

Thank you for the follow up.  I am glad you got some answers and a way to proceed. I am sure your post will help many others.
I am in 10.7 right now, so I can't exactly duplicate what would appear in Mountain Lion.  I took a look at the screen to enter custom page sizes.  I noticed that no matter what I put in, it always defaulted to "inches" (I'm in North America).  Even when I specified "mm" or "pt" it reverted back to "in".  I think the printing system really works only with points -- 72 points to the inch.  At least I have always seen measurments in points in PPD files when the maximum height and width are stated for a custom page size.
For the v8.64 driver for your Epson 3880, the PPD contains:
    *MaxMediaWidth: "1224.20"
    *MaxMediaHeight: "2692.80"
Using the Calculator program from OS X to do the conversions, that would be 17.002 inches (431.870 mm) by 37.400 inches (949.960 mm) for the maximum media size.
I suppose the end result of this is that it would be nice if there were some validation and a simple warning that would tell you the size of the media selected was larger than the maximum allowed.

  • Photoshop CS5.1 crashes when trying to open Manage Custom Sizes in print window. Help??

I have OS 10.10.2.  When printing and trying to access the "Manage Custom Sizes" in the print window, my Photoshop CS5.1 crashes.  I have not had problems up until now.  Not sure what changed. Can anyone help me figure this out?

A preferences reset should fix it.
Macintosh - CMD-SHIFT-OPTION immediately after you double-click the PS icon.
Release those keys when you see the Delete Photoshop Settings dialog. Click "Yes" to do this.
You may have to go into the CS5 application folder and directly double-click the Photoshop.app there.

  • How do I print more than one custom-size photo on a page in PSE 10?

HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One Printer - N911g can not define a custom size paper.  I would like to have a custom size to work with a card making program.

    Can you help me out?
I have an HP Officejet Pro 8600 N911a
When I try to print to a custom print size (2.75" x 6" in my case), I get the same error everyone else is reporting: "Paper detected does not match paper size or type selected. Make sure the paper size or type is correct to continue the job."
I am currently trying to print using Microsoft Word for Mac 2011 version 14.4.5, but I have the same problem with printing from Adobe Reader 9.8.5 or Preview 8.0.
    I am running OS X Yosemite 10.10.
My printer's firmware is "up to date" as of 28-Aug-2014.
    This is what I did:
    1. Open System Preferences from the Apple menu.
    2. Click on the Printers & Scanners icon.
    3. Click on the + sign under the list of printers to add a printer
    4. Click on IP
    5. Enter my IP address in the Address field (verified as "valid and complete host name or address")
    6. Ignore Protocol field (default is Line Printer Daemon - LPD)
    7. Ignore Queue field (default is blank for default queue)
    8. Ignore Name field (default is IP address)
    9. Ignore Location field (default is blank)
    10. Under the Use dropdown menu, I select "Select Software"
    11. HP Deskjet 9800 is not an option.
I searched for 9800, but there is no HP printer with that number in the options.
I tried selecting "HP DeskJet 980C - Gutenprint v5.2.3" to see if that would work, but I received the same error message as above. I tried selecting other random HP printers, but so far I've had no luck.
I've been googling about for a way to manually add a printer driver to this "Select Software" list, but I've found nothing (apparently, no one else wants to do this). I did not find a driver download for the HP DeskJet 9800 for OS X Yosemite 10.10 on the Drivers & Software section of the hp.com website.
Additional details on settings for Microsoft Word for Mac 2011 version 14.4.5:
Selected File > Page Setup from menu
Under the Paper Size drop down menu, I selected manage custom size.
    - Click + to add a paper size
    - Enter "2.75" in width and "6 in" height in the paper size fields.
    - Enter "0 in" as the User Defined Non-Printable Area for top, left, right and bottom.
    - Double-clicked Untiled in the custom size list and rename the size as Receipt
    - Click OK to return to the Page Setup dialog box
    Under Settings: Page Attributes:
    - Format for "HP Officejet Pro 8600"
    - Paper size: Receipt
    - Orientation: "tall/portrait"
    - Scale: 100%
    - Click OK
Select Format > Document and set all page margins to 0.25"
    Thank you.

  • Printing custom sizes on HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus from Macbook Pro

I am having trouble setting up a Word Document (Word for Mac 2011) to print in a custom size on my HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus.  I'm using a Macbook Pro running Yosemite.
I would like to print on a card stock that is 4.5 in x 13.5 in.  I have tried under Page Setup to create a custom size under Manage Custom sizes, however, I'm hitting a brick wall.  The printer gets the job but can not feed the paper.  I've also tried to set my default paper size under my System Preferences/Printers and Scanners to be this size...still not working.
    Please help!

    Hi @klinecard
It is important to ensure the paper size you are selecting is a supported size, and make sure the weight is supported too.
Printer Specifications for the HP Officejet Pro 8600 e-All-in-One Series Printer Series
    Please look under paper handling.
If your desired size and weight is supported, you might find the following helpful; Create Custom Paper Sizes in Windows 7, Windows 8, and Mac OS X
Truthfully, since you are not getting an error message, I suspect you have correctly setup the custom size, this issue is most likely the printers inability to feed the paper you are using.

  • Printing envelope not formatted correctly on custom size 8.75 by 5.75

Printers and All-In-Ones running win 7 64 bit, officejet 8600 pro all update current, In works 2007 word processor or 2011 Hallmark card progam.  downloaded latest driver and reinstalled same (deleted original dr and rebooted first). Envelope is correctly positioned, address prints at top of flap side return address is missing.  On plain paper (8.5X11) test print, address & return address appears to be in correct position.

I have the same problem with the same size paper (aka Invitation or Statement size), and have an additional problem with printing to the corresponding envelope size which is a Standard A9 (5.75"x8.75"). These are both standard size papers for the U.S. and are used in printing wedding invitations. I don't understand why there are programmed sizes for Japanese stationary, but not for all standard U.S. size formats (that will fit in the main feed tray) or the ability to create a Custom Size format.
Because these features weren't available, I ended up paying a local printer to print my New Year's cards (an expense I wasn't anticipating that equaled half the purchase price of the printer). And, since I can't print on the envelopes I will need to print labels, which I was hoping to avoid because I hate applying labels to envelopes.
HP, please update the software to allow customers to print to all appropriate Standard Size US formats or allow for customization, otherwise my next printer will be purchased from a manufacturer that does provide this ability.
