Custom splash screen on infoview 3.1

Hi.
Does anyone have any quick tips on how to modify the home InfoView "Home Page" after logging in? Our team needs to post a table of announcements and important maintenance updates directly below the "Navigate" section.
I see that under the \Business Objects\Tomcat55\webapps\InfoViewApp\jsp\listing directory, shows a few JSP files. Is this where it is all handled?
Thanks,
Phil

teamtomsk:
The comment in the linked blog about there being no software fix for this refers to a known hardware problem with certain MacBook Pro computers shipped with a NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics processor. Read MacBook Pro: Distorted video or no video issues to learn more about this.
If your (or any other user's) MacBook Pro is one of the ones shipped with a prone-to-failure 8600M GT graphics processor, it should be checked at an Apple Retail Store or Authorized Service Provider, whether or not Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC) -- which seems to be what you did -- temporarily fixes it.

  • Custom splash screen only shows up when command line is used...

    Hi,
    Everything in my Java web start application works perfectly but, the custom splash screen only shows up when command line is used ("C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin>javaws -verbose http://www.xxx.eu/AcSentVivresCrus/AcSentJnlp/AcSent.jnlp"), if I use the shortcut on the desktop or in the start menu, the Java 7 splash screen shows up (tested under Windows Vista and Seven). Does someone have any clues?

    Hi again,
    I made some researches :
    - The link in the generated shorcuts ("C:\Windows\SysWOW64\javaws.exe -localfile -J-Djnlp.application.href=http://www.xxx.eu/AcSentVivresCrus/AcSentJnlp/AcSent.jnlp "C:\Users\Arnaud\AppData\LocalLow\Sun\Java\Deployment\cache\6.0\46\69c1e9ee-1f252d1a") is not the same as the one I use in the command line ("C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin>javaws -verbose http://www.xxx.eu/AcSentVivresCrus/AcSentJnlp/AcSent.jnlp"). Is there a way in the the JNLP file to tell how to generate shortcuts (not the icon, etc., but command line options)?
    - This sample (https://blogs.oracle.com/thejavatutorials/entry/changing_the_java_web_start) displays the splash screen when I click on the the generated shortcuts (I use Windows 7). I have copied the ButtonDemo jar file and the JNLP file on my IIS web server (Windows 2008 Server), this time the splash screen does not show up when I click the generated shortcuts but always shows up when I use the command line. Can someone tell me if it is a trouble with IIS ?
    Thanks again...

    Hi,
    I am not able to show my custom splash screen while starting the webstart application, instead getting the "sun webstart logo". Hi Andrew,
    Thanks for your response.
    1. I have launched it number of times but no luck.
    2. I have written a jsp (using servlet + jsp no struts frame work) which will create jnlp on fly, which is showing my custom splash screen. If you refer in the initial post, it is not working with struts kind of framework. See the below jsp which shows custom splash screen. It worked without href.
    3. All jnlps are well formed and perfectly working in my development environment. For security purposes I have not shown some of the texts and logos.

  • Custom splash screen for app under JWS 1.2 from 1.4.1 beta?

  • How to create custom splash screen that shows loading %?

    I'd like to add a splash screen to my app. that shows the loading as a percentage.  I have flashbuilder 4.6.  How can I do this?

    You might need to consider adding your child elements in application manually. Displatch a new event back to the application when the child is created (from creationComplete) and update progress bar.

    If you are asking if it's still customizable, I believe so. Might have

  • Jws  JDK6 and  new splash screen functionality

    Houdy,
    We are running jdk6 remote clients using Mustang Beta 2 . Everything works fine excepts that we cannot run our new custom splash screen .
    The splash screen perfectly works launching the jar "out of the box" thanks to the SplashScreen-Image declaration in the MANIFEST. But when downloaded from server using je jws command line, nothin' happens.
    Does anyone has an idea ? Thanks by advance
    By the way Mustang is a nice product :-)

    Hi,
    I hope to be following in the same footsteps as the original poster, splash screen and deployed through Java Web Start. To learn, I tried the sample code found here: http://java.sun.com/developer/technicalArticles/J2SE/Desktop/javase6/splashscreen/
    I copied the SplashTest.java text from the above technical article and copied splash.gif to the same folder. I did a simple "javac SplashTest.java". When I run it from the command prompt "java -splash:splash.gif SplashTest" it works fine. I then made a mymanifest.mf file containing:
    Main-Class: SplashTest
    SplashScreen-Image: splash.gif
    <blank line>
    I then created a jar file: "jar cmf mymanifest.mf SplashTest.jar SplashTest.class splash.gif"
    I did a 'jar xf SplashTest.jar' and looked at META-INF\MANIFEST.MF file. The SplashScreen-Image line is there and the Created By is 1.6.0_01.
    When I run the jar (java -jar SplashTest.jar) the "SplashScreen.getSplashScreen() returned null" is output.
    QUESTION: What do I need to make the jar file work?
    For convenience, below is the SplashTest.java that I copied from the website noted above.
    I hope someone can offer some comments or a solution.

  • Splash Screen & Logo & Keys Configuration

    Hi,
    Os: Windows 7 64bit.
    Oracle Fusion Middle ware 11g.
    I am tring to custom splash screen and logo . So i try to change the formsweb.cfg parameter (Logo & SplashScren) and i put the path of the images in forms_path
    and i am tring to configure my application keys so i change the content of fmrpcweb.res in C:\Oracle\Middleware\asinst_1\config\FormsComponent\forms folder but no effect happen.
    Is there any extra confguration i have to do ?
    Regards,

    Likely you changed something or the images were previously cache and have since been deleted. And now your environment is not configured correctly. Refer to the documentation:
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E38115_01/doc.111210/e24477/configure.htm#sthref250

  • Splash screen when running from shortcut

    I have a web start app, version 1.2, with a custom splash screen and icon (2 entries in jnlp, one with type="splash"). This works just fine IF you run from the web page (I get a nice splash, followed by the "loading" window with my nice icon). If after running the app twice and allowing it to create a desktop shortcut, I run from that shortcut - the splash screen doesn't show. The plain icon is still around, just not the splash.
    Anyone else seen this and know how to fix it?
    TIA
    Mike

    The splash screen never seems to display for very long, so I can't tell if it works correctly or not. I just created my own splash screen in the application and everything works great.

  • How to view splash screen longer ?

    Hi,
    I'm designing custom splash screen. Is there any way to see it longer time than page loading ? It's some to fast :)
    Kuba

    Hi!
    I don't know (at this moment) the ADF-only way to do this, but you can improvise with plain javascript:
    <script>
    function showImage() {
      document.all.splashImage.style.visibility = "hidden";
    function hideImage() {
      document.all.splashImage.style.visibility = "hidden";
    function onLoad() {
      showImage();
      SetTimeout("hideImage();", 1000*5); // SetTimeout takes a number of milliseconds e.g. here 5 seconds
    </script>Now, you have to figure out how you want this to be applied to your use-case. If you want this splash to appear after the default (showing the ADF RC initialization) then just attach the onLoad() to the af:document clientListener type=load. If you want to replace the default with your own, you have to more work... you have to figura out how.

  • Splash screen works from browser, not when double-clicked on desktop

    Hi,
    I am having trouble making a splash screen appear and have a specific question about it.
    The code is from the tutorial at:
    http://blogs.sun.com/thejavatutorials/entry/changing_the_java_web_start
    I have changed the codebase attribute of the jnlp element so it refers to my own server:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <!-- JNLP File for ButtonDemo -->
    <jnlp spec="1.0+" codebase="https://justanexample.com/buttondemo" href="ButtonDemo.jnlp">
      <information>
        <title>ButtonDemo</title>
        <vendor>The Java(tm) Tutorial: Sun Microsystems, Inc.</vendor>
        <homepage href="http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/uiswing/examples/components/index.html#ButtonDemo"/>
        <icon href="mysplash.jpg" kind="splash"/>
        <description>ButtonDemo</description>
        <description kind="short">Demonstrates use of buttons within containers</description>
        <offline-allowed/>
      </information>
      <resources>
        <j2se version="1.6+"/>
        <jar href="ButtonDemo.jar"/>
      </resources>
      <application-desc main-class="components.ButtonDemo"/>
    </jnlp> This JNLP, the mysplash.jpg, and the ButtonDemo.jar are deployed to the web server, under a "buttondemo" subdirectory of the web server's DocumentRoot.
    If I access the JNLP from a browser (https://justanexample.com/buttondemo/ButtonDemo.jnlp), things work as expected:
    The first time "Java Loading" appears.
    The mysplash.jpg is cached and can be seen in the Resource list with "javaws -viewer."
    During the second and subsequent launches, the custom splash screen appears as expected.
    However, if I have the JNLP file on my desktop, and I open it from there with a double-click, I never see the splash screen.
    My question: Why is this? Shouldn't I see the splash screen after the first launch, even if I launched by double-clicking the JNLP file on my desktop?
    Why I care:
    While I've shown the problem using ButtonDemo, I am having the same issue with my own application. I'd like to have an icon on the desktop the user can click. I do have it working, but using a workaround I consider fragile and perhaps inappropriate.
    I am using the 1.6.0_18-b07 version of the JRE on Vista SP2.
    Thanks in advance for any explanation/help.

    I couldn't get this to work. For the benefit of anyone needing something similar, here's what I did to work around it.
    At install time, my app already unpacked some config files into a known place under the user's home directory. So I now unpack a splash screen there, as well.
    The desktop shortcut tells javaws to skip it's splash screen with -Xnosplash, and then tells the JVM to use a local one (with the -J"splash:" argument). Something like this worked well enough:
    C:\Windows\System32\javaws.exe -J"-splash:C:\Users\whoever\appname\splash.jpg" -Xnosplash "C:\Users\whoever\appname\app.jnlp"

  • Hp Pavilion P6724IT Stuck at HP Splash screen after install of new VGA

    Hello people.
    I buyed a new VGA, a Gigabyte GT740 2GB DDR5, before that i had an Asus GT630 2GB DDR3 and had no problems with it.
    After mounting the new VGA i noticed the computer remains stuck at the initial splash screen with the HP logo.
    Can't even get in to the bios, but if i remove the card and use it's igpu it's all ok.
    I tried to update the bios to the latest version on the HP site (v.7.15) and nothing.
    Tried to install with Windows 8.1, and with windows 7, nothing.
    I tried all things i found on the net of people with the same issue, nothing again.
    If i am fast enough and i press some keys it gets black screen and remains stuck anyway, do some beeps and then go in some kind of standby and if i keep pressed any key it does some cracklin noise.
    Actually i can't afford a new motherboard so i wanted to find out with your help if i can find a solution to the problem, cause it's really frustrating and i spent many time trying to figure it out.
    Sorry for my bad english!
    Hope someone can help me
    Cheers
