Custom step type Export and Import

Hi,
   I have created custom step types similar IVI for all my HAL drivers.
I need help in sharing it with my team in different locations.
I am looking at exporting and importing of the custome step types similar to templates.
Could anyone help me with this.
Thanks in advance
Anna

Anna,
when creating the step type definition, you have picked a location for it. By default, it is "MyTypes.ini".
You can create your own custom ini-file containing your specific step types in the type editor.
When distributing your step types, you have to pass the ini-file containing the type definition(s) AND all sources connected to that types (substep modules).
On the target machine, you have to include that ini-file in the system for type definitions in the type editor.

  • Steps to export and import oracle 10g databse from AIX to AIX and LINUX

    Hi,
    I need the steps to export the oracle 10g database from AIX server to AIX server and LINUX server.
    Please give me all the steps as this is my first exort an import activity.
    thanks,

    For 10g there exist two ways to do so.
    1) Regular exp/imp.
    2) Data pump expdp/impdp.
    As this is your first export and import activity, relevant concept understanding is mandatory for you.
    Documentation Link
    http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/cd/B19306_01/server.102/b14215/toc.htm
    Read the chapters 1,2,3 (Data pump expdp/impdp) and 19 (regular exp/imp). Good luck.

  • Custom step types and custom step data.

    Hello.
    I have a good understanding of how TestStand allows custom step types to allow users to store custom data.
    I have also read numerous posts about users asking for the ability to store some custom data associated with steps.
    In my scenario I am required to write a sequence using a few third party supplied step types.
    To assist in developing and debugging this sequence, we would like to store a container of custom data with each steps.
    Option 1: Create custom step types.
    This is really not an option, relying on third party step types. Any customization made to their step types will magically disappear, along with any custom data, the next time I install one of them service packs.
    You may argue that I just have to ensure all custom fields are recreated before opening a sequence file. This works in my office when everyone is at edge with this, but in a few months someone will "take responsibility"
    and upgrade the 3rd party packs without reading the entire upgrade procedure.
    Option 2: Create links in Sequence Locals
    This does work, but is not very associative. To work, the name of the Locals entry would need to be the unique ID of the step it refers to.
    Also, it requires some more maintenance to insert new steps, and to remove stale references.
    I really hope that someone in TestStand R&D reads this, and enables users to store step custom data, for example by adding a "CustomData" container to the TS property of the step.
    Regards,
    Ivar S.

    Ray:
    Thanks for answering.
    I am aware that I can extend a custom step type by creating a new step type based on the first type.
    For example, I have this 3rd party JtagExecuteTest step type, supplied by another solution vendor.
    In my sequence, I want a custom error & failure handler, that needs information about each step as they fail.
    For handling and logging purposes, I need each step in my sequence to carry information in addition to the setup required by JtagExecuteTest.
    So I set forth, and modify the step type JtagExecuteTest step, along with some other 10-15 step types that the other solution vendor has put in their package.
    This works like a charm until I have to reinstall or upgrade the package.
    Because I modified the steps using their original name, all data I put into the steps are lost.
    Next attempt, I follow your advice and create MyJtagExecuteTest step, based on the original steps. Again, I repeat this customization for 10-15 step types.
    This works like a charm until I have to upgrade the package.
    Now some wise guy at the other solution vendor has renamed a DLL or a function call, breaking down every step that I have customized.
    Mush better, though, because I can repeat the customization process and the data does not disappear.
    Still, this is just too much hassle just to put TestStand to some decent use.
    If I could just click on a step, add my custom properties, and have TestStand retain those data as a user customization that particular step instance.
    Much like you have Sequence.Locals, it would be extremely useful to have a Step.Locals container for the users to use at will.

    Ivar Svendsen.

  • How to export and import customized Object

    Hi All,
    I would like to communicate with system clipboard by importing and exporting the Objects.
    Assume that i have a RectangleBean object containing x,y,width and height properties and respective setters and getters.
    i am drawing the rectangle object by using the RectangleBean object values.
    now i want to export and import the RectangleBean object to system clipbord to draw a rectangle on other window when the user performed paste functionality. In other words communicating the RectangleBean objects between the two windows.
    Thanks in Advance

That's not going to work: if you are talking past the bean object into the clipboard and have something like MS-Word use it as a way of recreating your graphic using your bean... no, that's just not going to happen.
    If you are saying you want to create another of your graphics on another Java window in the same JVM session, then just pass a reference of the window's graphic context to a setter and have at it.
    If you're talking about some JEE functionality, then you're going to have to use RMI or some other standard method to get your object over to the other box or it's effects.
    In other words communicating the RectangleBean objects between the two windows.Not by cutting and pasting to the clipboard.

    2. Upgrade Database Server to 10.2.0.4
    3. Install 10.2.0.1 products from Companion CD (ultra search Schemas)
    4. Create Metadata Repository using Repository Creation assistance
    5. Install IAS infrastructure (10.1.2.0.2)
    6. Install IAS Middle Tier (10.1.2.02.)
    7. Create Transport sets in production instance
    Please tell me what i am supposed to do now.
    I am following below link for reference but not able to follow all

    For Portal Export Import (transport), the following are the foremost links on Metalink/ My Oracle Support.
    Note 306785.1 Overview of the Portal Export-Import Process
    Note 263995.1 - Master Note for OracleAS Portal Export / Import Issues
    Note 333867.1 Portal Export and Import Utility Supportability Scenarios
    Regarding your question, please do go through all of these notes.
    - Overview will tell you how to prepare your instances/environments for portal transport. you will see how to ensure they are ready, and that some patches are needed.
    - Master note will tell you which patches are needed, how to get them, what are the diagnostic tools which can help you check and clean your portal repositories, and what common errors you may get and how to fix them.
    - Supportability Scenario tells you what actually you can transport and what you cannot. i.e., what is supported and what is not. Do read it for your case.
    I have seen several Portal Admins who keep banging their heads with problems they create in their systems because they do not read this note and try to force a case which does not follow a supportable scenario.
    hope that helps!

    Hi,
    unfortunately i can't help you with your CMS problem, however if SAP has not responded to your OSS message, why don't you escalate it? In OSS Note 560499 you can find the phone number of the support hotline and they will be able to find a processor and speed up the processing of your message.

  • Export and import of Apps EUL

    I have a Apps EUL and use an Apps user id to work in Discoverer Administrator. This is what the Oracle documentation says and it has been working fine.
    Now I want to export the EUL but when I start the process I get a message that the user does not have access to all the objects and that only the accessible objects will be exported. Shouldn't the Discoverer Manager/Administrator be able to do a full export?
    To get around this problem, I have now been advised to use a database user (the EUL owner) to do the export and import with. Is this the correct way? The Oracle documentation suggest that a database user should never administrate the Apps EUL. Are exporting and importing somehow exluded form this rule?
    Thanks!

    Hi Aparna!
    The Apps EUL was created using a database user. Since then, the EUL has been administered by a Apps user that is dedicated to EUL administration.
    The documentation actually recommend that you create the Apps EUL with a database user and from there on administer the Apps EUL with the Apps user SYSADMIN. My company policy doesn't allow me to use SYSADMIN so I have a "custom" Apps user that I use to do all EUL administration. If at all possible, you should try to use SYSADMIN.
    The guides and website don't really have a step by step guidance as far as I can remember, more explanatory. I would suggest an email to Michael Armstrong-Smith of the learndiscoverer website. He has helped me alot with this particular subject!

  • Client Export and Import (Speacially Import Procedures)

    Dear All,
    I have requirement to copy my production client's all data to Quality System's client.
    What procedure should I follow?
    If I am going to export and Import. I am not getting followings's Steps 2.3 to 2.6.
    1. Client Export:
         1.1 Run SCC8
         1.2. Select Profile for desired copy type (Usually All SAP_ALL or user master only SAP_USER. You will need direction from
                 the requester as to the correct selection here. Use Profile -> Display Profile to display profile details.)
         1.3. Select target System (or group)
         1.4. De- Select u201CTest Runu201D (If selected)
         1.5. Run Export
                - Up to 3 requests are created, depending on the data selected and available:
                I. u201CSIDKO00353u2033 for transporting client-independent data, if you have selected this
                II. u201CSIDKT00353u2033 for transporting client-specific data
                III. u201CSIDKX00353u2033 for transporting client-specific texts, provided texts are available in this client
         1.6.Monitor TP logs for errors and export files for growth
    2. Client Import:
        2.1. Create client (scc4)
        2.2. Login to client (sap* u2013 pass)
        2.3. Manually add u201COu201D transport then u201CXu201D then u201CTu201D to TMS buffer
        2.4. Highlight #1 and use u201CRequest -> Importu201D to launch import tool
        2.5. Monitor u201CIu201D file in OS u201C/usr/sap/trans/tmpu201D dir for progress info
        2.6. After Import is complete perform u201Cpost processing stepsu201D from client tool (SCC7)           So if you have 3 transport requests and the data has been exported successfully then go for an import in quality system
    Please let me know how will I  Manually add u201COu201D transport then u201CXu201D then u201CTu201D to TMS buffer, Highlight #1 and use u201CRequest -> Importu201D to launch import tool, Monitor u201CIu201D file in OS u201C/usr/sap/trans/tmpu201D dir for progress info and After Import is complete perform u201Cpost processing stepsu201D from client tool (SCC7) .
    Thanks for sharing knowledge.
    With Warm Regards
    Dharmendra

    Once u login to new client,
    to Manually add u201COu201D transport then u201CXu201D then u201CTu201D to TMS buffer
    go to STMS----> select the system
    At top menu select
    Extras --> Other Requests --> Add(here give the above created transport requests, 1 @ each time)
    once u add those 3 trasnport requests u need to import them.
    Highlight #1 and use u201CRequest -> Importu201D
    for that from top menu select  Request -> Import(Ctrl + F11)
    coming to SCC7. its a tcode. execute the tcode and see.

  • Custom Step Type SubSteps Bug ?

    Hi,
    I'm having what I think is a bug. I'm doing a custom step type in teststand 4.2 and I can't put the pre-step substep before the post-step. I also know that TestStand are not executing them correctly since my pre-step create an object and the two post-step uses this object to set informations.
    Please look at the picture below

    Hi Crusader,
    Though the Pre-Step is being listed after the Post-Step substeps in your image, it will execute before them because of its very nature as a Pre-Step.  As per the TestStand Reference Manual, the Pre-Step substep will execute immediately before the module, and the Post-Step substep will execute immediately after the module.
    The Move Up and Move Down buttons on the dialog are meant to function only when you have multiple substeps of the same type, in which case order of operation becomes important.  For example, if you were to highlight one of your Post-Step substeps, these buttons would make themselves available.

  • Question regarding export and import of Hyperion Security during upgrade

    Hi Guys,
    We are upgrading Essbase, Integration Services from 7x to 9x which are utilizing Hyperion Hub and we are going to follow the method of uninstalling 7x and reinstalling 9x components.
    Now my question is, what is the best way of transferring security from 7x to 9x. I heard that Advanced Security Manager can be used to export and import back security. Or is there any
    other way of doing it??
    Can someone please enlighten me on this.
    Thanks in advance

    First let me say that any software that comes without a save button should be sold with a warning label.
    Why?
    Question 1:  I have having an issue comprehending how to save a photo.  In my case  I select the photo, zoom in on the subject, export it to my desktop. The pciture on my desktop does not incorporate the change. Am I missing a step? What do I need to do to export it with this change? I actually watched a You Tube video on this and could not see what i was not doing.
    You must have selected the wrong option in the Export dialog box. Under "File Settings", you need to select JPG and not "Original". Of course, you probably need to do some additional viewing of videos (or some reading) to learn that most people's workflow does not automatically include a "Save" or "Export" after editing the photo. It's not a necessary part of Lightroom's workflow, unless you need the photo for some non-Lightroom activity.
    Question 2: I just installed Lightroom and am trying to import my 12k strong photo collection. The Import button pulls in about 2k and then cannot find anymore. The photos are stored in folders by date within a master folder. I am selecting the master folder. I can go in and import the sub-fodler individually. However i do not want to do that 200 times.There is no apparent way to go into the subfolder level and select more than one folder.
    In the Import dialog box, on the left, under "Source", there is a checkbox that says "Include SubFolders". Make sure this is checked.
    Seriously, you need to spend some time reading introductory material about LR because Lightroom does not work like any other photographic software you might have used in the past. You are handling it as if it was no different than standard photo editing software, and you are going to be frustrated if that is your mindset. • Exporting and importing table using R3trans program between 2 clients

    Hi,
    How to export and import a table between to clients in a same system using R3trans program?
    I need to copy a table from Client 020 in a system to client 040 of the same system using R3 trans. I need to know the procedure.
    Can any one advice
    Regards,
    Suresh

    This is how you do a export and import of table entries.
    Export:
    Open Notepad and type the following,
    export
    client = 020
    file = 'clone.export.<sid>.<client no>.data'
    select * from <client_dependent_tablename1>
    select * from <client_dependent_tablename2>
    select * from <client_dependent_tablenamen>
    Save the file as export.ctl
    Run R3trans export.ctl
    and the data of these files will be stored in a file called clone.export.<sid>.data in the directory from which you have called R3trans
    Import:
    Open Notepad,
    import
    client = 040
    file = clone.export.<sid>.<client no>.data
    buffersync = yes
    Save the file as import.ctl
    Run R3trans import.ctl
    Cheers!

  • Creating a step type "launcher" that would insert the appropriate built-in or custom step type at edit time

    Hi everybody,
    I'm looking for tips, pointers,directions... to be able to perform this operation in TS 4.0 sequence Editor, if it's even possible...
    I'm managing a test system with a "home-made" virtual instruments abstraction Layer complementary to IVI classes for instruments which do not have classes defined, customizing the sequence editor accordingly for developpers of my department.
    So basically when the instrument is IVI, the developper uses the built-in IVI step-type type and when it is not, he uses the the custom step types that I developped for this particular class of instruments.
    However there are classes where I do have both IVI and specific drivers available and I do need to use both in the test sequence.
    For example let's say there are two sources of DC power available in the testbench, one being a programmable IVI compliant DC power supply, and the other one composed of fixed "blocks" of DC power supply managed by externals relays and you need to use them both in the test sequence.
    What I would like to be able to do in the sequence editor is inserting the appropriate step type at edit time just by selecting the source of power supply (by a ring or enum for eg), and if the first ressource is selected, it inserts IVI step type, and if the second ressource is chosen, it inserts the appropriate custom step type.
    Any Ideas on how to accomplish this ?

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    Hello Cyril,
    Here is an idea that could be done:
    You could create a dynamic step by having a step that holds all the properties for both configurations (the superset of the necessary variables) and an extra one that indicates which 'mode' the step is in.  Then you create the main Edit substep in whichever language you desire.  That substep window will then have a box/dropdown/etc. at the top you can use to choose between modes A & B.  When the user changes the value, you would dynamically change the rest of the window to contain the appropriate properties for mode A or B.  You then copy the property values in that window to the Step properties, and copy the mode to your variable and you can run the step in that mode.  When the step then runs, it checks the mode variable, and depending on its value, it will run the step in mode A or B.
    Now we could add a dialog that allows us to choose when we put a step down but we should still allow the user to change later via the Edit substep we create.
    I don't think we can create something that inserts a completely different step, but we can have one step that has the ability to do both and we can pick which one we execute.  Also note we still don't have the ability to edit the Panels for a step, so we have to use a new window that we call from our Edit substep to complete the step.
    Hope this helps.

  • Use of export and import in oo abap

    Hello experts,
    We are new to oo abap and using process controlled workflow for BRF.
    There are 3 methods which we are using. /SAPSRM/IF_EX_WF_RESP_RESOLVERGET_AREA_TO_ITEM_MAP, /SAPSRM/IF_WF_AREAGET_RESPONSIBLE_APPROVERS and /SAPSRM/IF_EX_WF_RESP_RESOLVER~GET_APPROVERS_BY_AREA_GUID.
    In a situation we want to use document_id which is created in item_map into get_responsible_approvers method.
    Therefore, we used export and import in these two methods like the following.
    zgc_mock_pdo_guid =  is_document-document_guid. "uncomment later
        export zgc_mock_pdo_guid from zgc_mock_pdo_guid to memory id 'Z_MOCK_PDO_GUID' . "uncomment later
    and
    import zgc_mock_pdo_guid  = zgc_mock_pdo_guid  from  memory id 'Z_MOCK_PDO_GUID' . "uncomment this later
                   CALL METHOD /SAPSRM/CL_WF_APV_FACADE=>RETRIEVE_PROCESS_HISTORY
                     EXPORTING
                       IV_DOCUMENT_GUID = zgc_mock_pdo_guid "ins_guid
                       IV_AGENT_ID      = lv_agent
                       IV_LANGUAGE      = sy-langu
                     IMPORTING
                       ES_PROCESS       = ls_process
    Now we are getting the results as per our requirements. But I want to know whether or not it is supposed to be used in oo abap context or not otherwise I will find another method to do so. Please advise/suggest about the same.
    Thank you.

    Hello Keshav, Suhas.
    Thank you vary much for your reply. I was definitely a great help to understand the concept.
    This ZGC_MOCK_PDO_GUID attribute was already made private. Instead of defining under public section I defined it under attributes tab.
    Thank you for your help though.
    Right now I am trying to explore another way to do so.
    I am trying to get factory instance for tack container using /SAPSRM/IF_CLL_TASKCON_FACTORY interface with method GET_INSTANCE from class /SAPSRM/CL_CH_WD_TASKCONT_FACT.
    Later I am trying to get task container from this interface. Then after I am interested to get SC GUID using GET_BO_GUID method.
    I have been trying to achieve this in following way. But somehow i am getting this GUID empty.
    data :
    temp_task_container_factory type REF TO /SAPSRM/IF_CLL_TASKCON_FACTORY,
    temp_instance type REF TO /SAPSRM/IF_PDO_BO_SC_ADV,
    ins_guid type BBP_GUID, "/SAPSRM/WF_DOCUMENT_GUID,
    ls_process_info TYPE /SAPSRM/S_PDO_WF_PROCESS_INFO,
    temp_handler TYPE REF TO /SAPSRM/IF_PDO_STATIC_META,
    temp_task_container type REF TO /SAPSRM/IF_CLL_TASK_CONTAINER,
    lo_task TYPE REF TO /SAPSRM/IF_CLL_TASKCON_FACTORY.
    CALL METHOD /SAPSRM/CL_CH_WD_TASKCONT_FACT=>GET_INSTANCE
    RECEIVING
    RO_TASK_CONTAINER_FACTORY = temp_task_container_factory "
    CALL METHOD TEMP_TASK_CONTAINER_FACTORY->GET_TASK_CONTAINER
    * EXPORTING
    * IV_TRANS_MODE =
    * IO_MESSAGE_HANDLER =
    * IV_BO_TYPE =
    RECEIVING
    RO_TASK_CONTAINER = temp_task_container
    CALL METHOD TEMP_TASK_CONTAINER->GET_BO_GUID
    RECEIVING
    RV_BO_GUID = ins_guid .
    TRY.
    CALL METHOD /SAPSRM/CL_PDO_FACTORY_SC_ADV=>GET_BUFFERED_INSTANCE
    EXPORTING
    IV_HEADER_GUID = ins_guid
    RECEIVING
    RO_INSTANCE = temp_instance
    ENDTRY.
    CALL METHOD ZCL_WF_APV_FACADE=>RETRIEVE_PROCESS_HISTORY
    EXPORTING
    IV_DOCUMENT_GUID = ins_guid " we are passing ins_guid instead of zGC_MOCK_PDO_GUID this should have area_guid now.
    IV_AGENT_ID = lv_agent
    IV_LANGUAGE = sy-langu
    IMPORTING
    ES_PROCESS = ls_process.
    But the ins_guid ( returned by RV_BO_GUID ) is empty ( The Bold fonted line of code)
    I want to know whether I am doing this instantiation correctly or not or do I have to create class and object here only ?
    Right now I am calling the class, getting get_instance and using its instance temp_task_container_factory i am calling interface /SAPSRM/IF_CLL_TASKCON_FACTORY. Is it correct way? PLease advise. Thank you once again.

  • Internal table export and import in ECC 5.0 version

    Hi friends,
    I am trying to export and import internal table from one program to other program.
    The below… export and import commands are not working when I run the program in background (using SUBMIT zxxxx via JOB name NUMBER number…..)
    EXPORT ITAB TO MEMORY id 'ZMATERIAL_CREATE'.
    IMPORT ItAB FROM MEMORY ID 'ZMATERIAL_CREATE'.
    Normally it should work. Since It’s not working I am trying with another alternative..
    i.e EXPORT (ptab) INTERNAL TABLE itab.
    My sap version is ECC 5.0….
    For your information, here I am forwarding sap help. Pls have a look and explain how to declare ptab internal table.
    +Extract from SAP help+
    In the dynamic case the parameter list is specified in an index table ptab with two columns. These columns can have any name and have to be of the type "character". In the first column of ptab, you have to specify the names of the parameters and in the second column the data objects. If the second column is initial, then the name of the parameter in the first column has to match the name of a data object. The data object is then stored under its name in the cluster. If the first column of ptab is initial, an uncatchable exception will be raised.
    Outside of classes you can also use a single-column internal table for parameter_list for the dynamic form. In doing so, all data objects are implicitly stored under their name in the data cluster.
    My internal table having around 45 columns.
    pls help me.
    Thanks in advance
    raghunath

    The export/import should work the way you are using it. Just make sure you are using same memory id and make sure its unique - meaning u are using it only for this itab purpose and not overwriting it with other values. Check itab is not initial before you export in program 1 - then import it in prog2 with same memory id...also check case, I am not sure if its case sensitive...
    Here is how you use the second variant...
    Two fields with two different identifications "P1" and "P2" with the dynamic variant of the cluster definition are written to the ABAP Memory. After execution of the statement IMPORT, the contents of the fields text1 and text2 are interchanged.
    TYPES:
      BEGIN OF tab_type,
        para TYPE string,
        dobj TYPE string,
      END OF tab_type.
    DATA:
      id    TYPE c LENGTH 10 VALUE 'TEXTS',
      text1 TYPE string VALUE `IKE`,
      text2 TYPE string VALUE `TINA`,
      line  TYPE tab_type,
      itab  TYPE STANDARD TABLE OF tab_type.
    line-para = 'P1'.
    line-dobj = 'TEXT1'.
    APPEND line TO itab.
    line-para = 'P2'.
    line-dobj = 'TEXT2'.
    APPEND line TO itab.
    EXPORT (itab)     TO MEMORY ID id.
    IMPORT p1 = text2
           p2 = text1 FROM MEMORY ID id.
